We analyze the publication trends and the author number trends, the DARPA's preference of choosing funded institutions, the DARPA's funded person's academic influence and research area, and the DARPA's funding area preference. It is shown that the DARPA chooses foreign participants to corporate, not denying to do so only for political reasons. The DARPA chooses most influential researchers to corporate. The DARPA focuses on specific time window to maintain the research innovation.     通过对美国国防高级研究计划局(DARPA)资助项目的SCI论文产出数据进行文献计量分析,分别从年度趋势、国际合作格局、资助机构的偏好、资助人的实力及领域方向、学科领域的变化揭示DARPA科研项目投入产出的特征和一般规律。结果表明,DARPA的成功主要因为并不因政治主张而排斥与任何优秀国际机构合作的机会,DARPA通过多样化的受资助人学科背景和限定资助窗口期来避免项目受学术思维定势的影响,充分引入创新性和颠覆性的想法,进行大量的学科方向的布局,另外在选择资助机构时有一定的固定偏好。

    Based on the SCI-E, this paper makes a data investigation and a quantitative analysis of DARPA funding papers, aiming to provide some useful insight of the success of the DARPA. We analyze the publication trends and the author number trends, the DARPA's preference of choosing funded institutions, the DARPA's funded person's academic influence and research area, and the DARPA's funding area preference.
