Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by two pathological hallmarks:β-amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. It is the most common type of dementia and a common disease of the elderly. The pathogenesis of AD is related to multiple risk factors, pathways and molecular mechanisms.
