This paper introduces the concept of blood born concentration measurement in the process of boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). The deficiency of the physical, chemical, and nuclear methods for blood boron measurement is analyzed with a focus on the nuclear method. Rapidly and accurately measuring the blood boron concentration is the key in the process of BNCT. The status quo and development of the prompt gamma neutron activation analysis (PGNAA) are discussed.
