Four abroad research directions of peak shaving problems involving gas pipeline system are summarized, they include the measures of peak shaving, how to set up the withdrawal schedules of underground gas storage, how to apply the steady model to analyze middle or long-term peak shaving problems, and the simulation of short-term peak shaving problems.
