We focus our purpose on the retrofit of exist pulverized coal plants. There are 3 main kinds of technologies including pre-, post and oxy-fuel combustion for CO2 capture. After the comparisons between CO2 capture technologies, we concluded that oxy-fuel combustion performs better than other technologies both on technologic and economic evaluations. The total capital cost for retrofitting a conventional PC plant with CO2, SO2, NOX, and Hg removal equipment installations (post-combustion) is more than the Oxy-FGR modification. The total O&M cost of an Oxy-FGR retrofit is about half that of the MEA retrofit.
