The paper provided with the results concerning the distribution, growth and utilization possibility of the woody plants for biomass fuel oil in China, put forward the idea of establishing the resources base for the main woody energy plants in resource abundant regions, conducted the selection and breeding of superior types and made research on the biological characteristics and economic characters, and established the seed stock breeding bases. The research not only fills in gaps in research on woody energy plants for biomass fuel oils, especially the selection and breeding of improved variety, provides new resources for the production of
