In China, there exists a huge imbalance for medical resources between city and countryside. Here, such serious situation was carefully interpreted. We proposed that one of the key technical strategies towards resolving such difficulty lies in integrating the latest micro/nano biomedical technologies and thus establishing Micro Total Hospital System (μ-THS) in the sense of being fully equipped, highly advanced however easily affordable. This new hospital system, which differs from traditional one, would significantly stimulate efforts towards entire miniaturization and economization in diagnostic, therapeutic and medicine equipments, and thus significantly lower the medical cost and catalyze new medical service system.
