Regarding the main challenges in combating desertification and driving causes of desertification development, the optimized regimes and general considerations for combating desertification in north China were proposed. The basic ecological rules should be considered sufficiently in the program for combating desertification to maintain sustainable development of ecological project. The organizations and management should be emphasized and enthusiasm of different parts should be encouraged for more efficient works.
