Improvement in water use efficiency, yield potential, winter hardness, lodging resistance and early maturity are the main breeding objectives in northern China winter wheat region. Based on these objectives and assessment of parents, Shimai12 was chosen as the female parent to cross with Shijiazhuang8. The offsprings were selected for water use efficiency by reduced irrigations, seedling growth habit selected by molecular marker assistant selection and phenotype selection, early maturity selected by adjusted plant growing stages, lodging resistance and yield related traits selected in densely populated field by increasing seeding rate, breeding procedure speeded up by sowing in different biological zones. As the result, the new variety Lunxuan103 was released, which has combined high water use efficiency, high yield potential, salt and alkaline tolerance, excellent winter hardness, good lodging resistance and early maturity. In the future, besides the combination of all the characters mentioned above, more afford should be put into quality improvement and the efficiency in breeding for winter hardness.

培育节水、高产、抗寒、抗倒伏、早熟小麦新品种是中国北方冬麦区重要育种目标。以石麦12为母本、石家庄8号为父本配制杂交组合,杂种后代通过减少浇水次数进行节水性选择;通过分子标记辅助选择技术和表型鉴定技术进行幼苗生长习性选择;改变生长发育节奏进行早熟性选择;采用大群体、高密度种植进行抗倒伏性和丰产性选择;通过不同生态区异地加代种植加快育种速度,最终培育出节水、高产、抗寒、抗倒伏、早熟、耐盐碱小麦品种轮选103。在兼具以上优良性状的基础上,加强品质性状的改良和提高品种抗寒性改良的育种效率是该麦区未来小麦育种的努力方向。

培育节水、高产、抗寒、抗倒伏、早熟小麦新品种是中国北方冬麦区重要育种目标。以石麦12为母本、石家庄8号为父本配制杂交组合,杂种后代通过减少浇水次数进行节水性选择;通过分子标记辅助选择技术和表型鉴定技术进行幼苗生长习性选择;改变生长发育节奏进行早熟性选择;采用大群体、高密度种植进行抗倒伏性和丰产性选择;通过不同生态区异地加代种植加快育种速度,最终培育出节水、高产、抗寒、抗倒伏、早熟、耐盐碱小麦品种轮选103。在兼具以上优良性状的基础上,加强品质性状的改良和提高品种抗寒性改良的育种效率是该麦区未来小麦育种的努力方向。

Improvement in water use efficiency, yield potential, winter hardness, lodging resistance and early maturity are the main breeding objectives in northern China winter wheat region. Based on these objectives and assessment of parents, Shimai12 was chosen as the female parent to cross with Shijiazhuang8. The offsprings were selected for water use efficiency by reduced irrigations, seedling growth habit selected by molecular marker assistant selection and phenotype selection, early maturity selected by adjusted plant growing stages, lodging resistance and yield related traits selected in densely populated field by increasing seeding rate, breeding procedure speeded up by sowing in different biological zones. As the result, the new variety Lunxuan103 was released, which has combined high water use efficiency, high yield potential, salt and alkaline tolerance, excellent winter hardness, good lodging resistance and early maturity. In the future, besides the combination of all the characters mentioned above, more afford should be put into quality improvement and the efficiency in breeding for winter hardness.

轮选103是中国农业科学院作物科学研究所与原赵县农业科学研究所合作培育的小麦品种,2015—2019年相继通过冀中南、冀中北地区品种审定,天津市、山西省、山东省同一生态区引种备案。轮选103在足墒播种、春浇1水(拔节或孕穗水)条件下,可实现7500 kg/hm2以上产量,被国家小麦良种重大科研联合攻关组评为黄淮麦区节水性较好的绿色小麦品种,也是河北省农业农村厅小麦节水品种及配套技术推广项目推荐品种。该品种经受了不同年份低温的考验,在出现“断崖”式剧烈降温的极端天气下仍表现出很强的抗寒性。轮选103在盐碱地种植表现出较好的耐盐碱性。本文对轮选103的选育过程及相关育种技术进行系统总结,旨在为中国北方地区节水高产抗寒小麦品种的选育提供借鉴。
河北省是中国小麦主产省之一。河北省小麦生产有如下特点。一是地下水资源严重不足。水资源状况决定了当地小麦生产不能以消耗大量的地下水资源为代价,提高小麦产量必须走节水高产的路。历史上当地小麦全生育期浇水3~4次,现在普遍降到2次,在底墒充足、雨水较多的年份,提倡只浇1次水。二是冻害发生频率较高。根据冻害发生时期不同,通常分为3种:第1种是小麦越冬前发生的冻害,发生频率较高,危害最大,通常出现在11月下旬,此时,麦苗尚未经过充分的抗寒性锻炼,突然遇到“断崖式”剧烈降温天气,造成小麦严重冻害,严重时出现大面积死苗;第2种是冬季极端低温造成的冻害;第3种是倒春寒的危害。三是倒伏成为进一步提高产量的主要限制因素之一。目前,河北省的高产地块,单产普遍可以实现9000 kg/hm2,高产典型可以达到10000~12000 kg/hm2。产量水平提高必然伴随小麦群体的增加或穗重的提高,对品种的抗倒伏性提出了更高的要求。四是早熟性品种在生产上受欢迎。河北省普遍采取小麦、玉米1年2季的种植制度,光热资源较为紧张。推广种植晚播早熟小麦品种,为玉米早播晚收获创造条件,是实现夏秋粮均衡增产的重要途经。根据河北省小麦生产的上述特点和发展趋势,以生产上推广的主要节水高产品种石麦12和石家庄8号为改良对象,以提高品种的抗寒性和抗倒伏性为突破口,培育节水、高产、抗寒、抗倒伏、早熟小麦新品种。
石麦12是2004年通过河北省冀中南审定的小麦品种,2006年又通过河南省引种备案。该品种的突出特点是产量水平较大面积推广的石4185有较大幅度提高,在区域试验和高产示范中最高单位面积产量都超过了9000 kg/hm2,而且表现综合抗性好,茎秆坚硬,抗倒伏性强。虽然石麦12在区域试验阶段进行的抗寒性鉴定及生产上适宜播期内种植都表现出较好的抗寒性,但该品种苗期发育较快,在早播情况下易发生旺长,存在发生冻害的风险。尽管在栽培措施上特别提出要在适宜播期内播种,但由于年度间气温波动较大,加上生产上千家万户很难做到都在最适宜的播期内播种,最终该品种还是因为冻害的问题很快退出了市场。在进行小麦异地加代的过程中发现,石麦12无论是河北坝上夏播,还是在云南元谋秋播,都能正常抽穗,表现出典型的春性品种的生长习性。因此,推测石麦12苗期发育较快、抗寒性较差可能与其春性的幼苗生长习性有关。如果将石麦12春性的幼苗生长习性改变成冬性生长习性,通过改变品种的生长发育节奏,就有可能提高它的抗寒能力。根据这个思路,选择了石家庄8号作为对手亲本对石麦12进行改良。石家庄8号是通过黄淮麦区北片和北部冬麦区2个生态区审定的冬性品种,抗寒性强,而且高产潜力大,抗旱节水性好,缺点是茎秆较软,抗倒伏性较差。在保持石家庄8号优良特性的同时,提高抗倒伏能力是对该品种进行改良的突破口。石麦12和石家庄8号2个品种各自优点突出,优、缺点互补性好,2个亲本杂交符合既定育种目标。
品种冬、春性幼苗生长习性的改良首先要解决冬、春性表型鉴定问题。相对于黄淮冬麦区南片而言,石家庄地区小麦进入越冬期较早,麦苗冬前发育较慢,叶龄较小,具有冬、春生长习性的幼苗在田间很难区别开。因此,采取在张家口市沽源县夏季播种的方式进行冬、春性表型鉴定,同时对春化基因不同等位变异进行分子标记辅助选择。沽源位于河北省北部,地处内蒙古高原南端,6~8月日平均气温17℃左右,平均日照长度15 h以上,夏播小麦生长良好。该地区夏播小麦生育期内完全不具备小麦春化所需要的低温,而且一直处于长日照条件下,避免了光敏感品种和光不敏感品种由于日照长度需求不同造成的抽穗期差异,因此,在该地区夏季播种可以对小麦品种的冬、春性进行准确的表型鉴定。
在沽源夏播,石麦12正常抽穗,表现为春性;石家庄8号不抽穗,表现为冬性。来自于石麦12/石家庄8号的404个F2:3株系中,88个株系正常抽穗,为春性;209个株系部分植株抽穗,表现为冬、春性分离;107个株系不抽穗,为冬性。经χ2检测,表现为春性、冬春性分离及冬性的株系符合1∶2∶1的分离比例(χ2=2.27, χ20.01 (2)=9.21),说明石麦12含有1个春化基因的显性等位变异[1]
经过对已知主要春化基因位点VRN−A1、VRN−B1、VRN−D1和VRN−B3分子标记检测,发现石麦12在VRN−D1位点具有与春性生长习性有关的显性等位基因Vrn−D1,在其他3个位点上携带与冬性生长习性有关的隐性等位基因;而石家庄8号在上述4个位点均携带隐性等位基因vrn−A1、vrn−B1、vrn−D1和vrn−B3。对亲本石麦12、石家庄8号及其杂交分离群体VRN−D1位点不同等位基因分析表明,石麦12及其春性后代植株均携带显性等位基因Vrn−D1,石家庄8号及其冬性后代植株均具有隐性等位基因vrn−D1[1]
在明确石麦12及其春性后代植株具有显性等位基因Vrn−D1后,通过分子辅助选择技术在杂种后代只选择具有隐形等位变异vrn−D1的后代。为加快育种进程,缩短育种年限,入选的F2单株种子萌发后,4℃低温处理40 d,11月上旬在云南元谋冬繁,次年3月上旬收获,3月中旬在河北沽源春播,9月上旬收获,F5在赵县正常秋播。云南元谋是春小麦重要的南繁基地,冬小麦南繁的比较少,而且冬小麦在元谋南繁时3月上旬才能收获,收获的种子返回赵县种植时,由于温度已升高,不能满足冬性品种的低温春化要求,不能正常抽穗。沽源由于海拔高,春季气温回升慢,3月至5月上旬平均气温都在10℃以下,冬性品种在3月中旬以前播种都能通过春化正常抽穗。利用元谋冬繁和沽源春季播种的方法实现了冬小麦1年2代种植。
通过减少浇水次数进行节水性选择。在足墒播种情况下,不浇冬水,春季只浇1次水(拔节水或孕穗水),在非充分灌溉条件下,选择节水性好的高产类型。通过改变生长发育节奏进行早熟性改良。在返青前后选择幼苗偏匍匐、生长发育稳健的冬性类型;拔节后选择生长发育快、抽穗早的类型;灌浆期选择灌浆快的类型。在杂种分离世代,通过扩大群体规模,增加矮杆单株的中选比例,选择矮秆、重心高度低、基部节间短的单株;通过大群体、高密度种植进行抗倒伏性和丰产性选择。
通过以上育种技术育成集节水、高产、抗寒、抗倒伏、早熟为一体的小麦品种轮选103。
轮选103根系发达、节水抗旱能力表现突出,经河北省农林科学院旱作农业研究所鉴定,其抗旱指数1.109,属抗旱性强的节水高产小麦品种,水分利用效率为1.90 kg/m3[2]。国家小麦良种重大科研联合攻关组于2016—2017年和2017—2018年在河北省石家庄市、衡水市组织小麦品种节水性鉴定,轮选103在足墒播种、春浇1次水条件下,单产超过7500 kg/hm2,被评为黄淮麦区节水性较好的绿色小麦品种。石家庄市农业技术推广中心组织的小麦“一水千斤”简化栽培技术模式大面积示范中,轮选103单产高达8123 kg/hm2。2016年6月13日中国农业科学院科技管理局委托国内同行专家,按照农业农村部《全国粮食高产创建测产验收办法》,对位于河北省赵县南柏舍镇徐家寨村种植的轮选103示范田进行实产验收,该示范田在小麦全生育期灌越冬水和拔节水各1次,单产高达10874 kg/hm2,创河北省小麦高产纪录。
Wang等[3]以近年来河北省中南部审定的38个小麦品种为材料,设置冬后浇2、1和0次水3个水分处理,于2017—2018年、2018—2019年在成安和辛集进行了大田条件下的抗旱品种筛选试验,结果表明轮选103在多个环境中抗旱等级为抗及以上,且产量稳定性较好。河北省现代农业产业技术体系小麦产业创新团队廊坊节水高效综合试验站对2014—2018年通过国/省审的15个小麦节水品种进行抗性和产量筛选试验,结果表明轮选103综合表现突出,推选为廊坊市节水高效小麦品种[4]。Liu等[5]对10个旱地小麦品种进行比较试验,结果表明河农6119和轮选103综合指标显著优于其他品种,是适合黑龙港地区的旱作品种。
在北京顺义和河北赵县2个环境对轮选103与其亲本石麦12和石家庄8号进行抗寒性鉴定,结果表明在顺义轮选103死株率和死茎率平均比石麦12分别降低16.4%和45.6%(P<0.05),与抗寒品种石家庄8号差异不显著;在赵县,轮选103与亲本石家庄8号在死株率和死茎率上同样无显著差异,但抗寒性显著好于亲本石麦12(表1)。
遵化国家农作物品种区域试验站轮选103抗寒性鉴定结果,2011—2012年死茎率32.5%,死株率5.4%(对照品种石4185死茎率38.9%,死株率2.1%);2012—2013年死茎率2.1%,死株率0(对照品种石4185死茎率5.9%,死株率2.0%)。
节水品种株高普遍偏高,但轮选103植株较矮,基部第一节间较短,茎秆内部的大、小维管束数目较多,厚壁组织和薄壁组织厚度较大,因此茎秆的抗折力大,抗倒伏性强[6]。在河北赵县和河南新乡2个环境下进行抗倒伏性鉴定,轮选103在开花后不同时期均表现出较强的抗倒性,与石家庄8号相比,株高平均降低9.9 cm,重心高度下降5.9 cm,基部第一节间缩短2.1 cm,茎秆抗折力提高1.2 N(表2),倒伏指数下降0.4。此外,轮选103比抗倒亲本石麦12在上述性状上也均有改善,表明轮选103在抗倒伏上具有超亲优势。高产区多年大面积生产种植,轮选103经历了不同气候的考验,抗倒伏性表现突出。
轮选103抽穗和开花期明显早于石家庄8号,仅次于石麦12,但在产量上显著高于双亲(表3)。从产量性状数据分析看,轮选103结合了亲本石家庄8号的千粒重较高以及石麦12穗粒数较多的特点。轮选103由于早熟,耐晚播,在10月底播种,比正常播期推迟10~20 d,通过增加小麦播种量,仍然可以实现9000 kg/hm2以上的产量水平,显著高于其他生产上大面积推广品种[7]。该品种在河北省推广“两晚”技术(小麦晚种、玉米晚收),实现全年小麦、玉米均衡增产方面发挥了重要作用。
轮选103比大面积种植的小麦品种济麦22早熟2~3 d,幼穗分化速度明显比济麦22快。与中熟品种石4185比较,轮选103早熟性主要表现在穗分化的中后期发育速度较快;与晚熟品种济麦22比较,轮选103在穗分化的各个阶段发育都明显较早[8]。轮选103拔节前生长稳健,幼苗偏匍匐,拔节后生长发育速度明显加快,既避免了由于苗期生长发育过快,易遭受冻害的风险,又做到了抽穗较早、成熟较早、躲避或减轻小麦灌浆后期高温的不利影响,有利于实现高产稳产。
轮选103在盐碱地种植表现苗期耐盐碱性好。中国农业科学院作物科学研究所种质资源抗逆性评价创新组进行的耐盐性鉴定结果表明,在2.0% NaCl溶液处理15 d条件下,轮选103的盐害指数为33.6%,属于耐盐品种(图1)。
轮选103的育成实现了节水、高产、抗寒、抗倒伏、早熟多个性状的协同改良。该品种通过冀中南品种审定已经10年,现在种植面积仍然在稳步上升,说明它的育种目标符合审定区域生产需求。
育种目标确定后,对亲本材料的深入了解和认识是实现育种目标的保障。轮选103的成功选育源于对石麦12春性生长习性的研究,发现石麦12春性生长习性受显性Vrn−D1a单基因控制,进而设想通过把Vrn−D1a替换成与冬性生长习性相关的隐性等位变异vrn−D1,把石麦12改造成冬性品种,通过改变品种的生长发育节奏,提高该品种的抗寒性。石家庄8号是冬性品种,携带vrn−D1基因,抗寒性好,而且节水抗旱、高产潜力大。采用石麦12与石家庄8号杂交,既可改良石麦12的抗寒性,又能把石家庄8号的节水、高产、抗寒特性与石麦12的抗倒伏能力、早熟的优点结合在在一起。石麦12和石家庄8号都属于耐盐品种,轮选103的耐盐性显然得益于2个亲本。总之,对石麦12和石家庄8号2个亲本的正确认识和合理组配,奠定了轮选103选育成功的基础。
亲本确定后,创造有利于目标性状选择的环境也是至关重要的。通过夏播淘汰春性材料,选留冬性单株;通过减少浇水次数进行节水性选择;通过早播加强对抗寒性的选择;通过适当晚播,选育早熟耐迟播的品种;通过大群体、高密度种植提高对抗倒伏性和穗部结实性的选择压力,最终实现了对目标性状的协同改良。
中国北方水资源短缺的现状将长期存在,节水品种在稳定和提高小麦产量、保障国家粮食安全方面将发挥越来越重要的作用,因此,节水品种选育工作将会得到不断加强。
提高产量是小麦育种永恒的主题。从现有育成的节水高产品种现状看,在保持或提高品种节水性的同时,进一步提高品种产量,做到旱年减产少、丰年增产多是可以做到的。随着产量的提高,群体增加,穗重提高,对品种抗倒伏性的要求越来越高,而有些节水性好的品种植株偏高,抗倒伏能力较差,在雨水多的年份高产地块易发生倒伏,因而在提高品种节水性的同时,如何提高节水品种的抗倒伏能力也是值得研究的课题。中国人多地少的国情决定了必须走通过提高单位面积产量的途径来提高粮食总产,北方地区1年2熟的耕作制度将长期存在,培育耐晚播早熟小麦品种,为玉米等秋收作物腾出更多的生长时间,实现夏秋粮的均衡增产,是增加中国粮食产量的重要途径。
选育优质专用型品种是今后的发展方向,中国北方是优质强筋小麦生产的优势区域,但目前育成的节水性好且优质的品种数量还比较少,今后应加强节水性优质品种的培育。
随着全球气候变暖,中国北方暖冬出现的年份增加,但出现极端气温变化的比例也在增加。有些品种对“断崖”式剧烈降温反应极为敏感,冻害时有发生。因此,对品种抗寒性的改良工作时刻不能放松。提高品种抗寒性表型鉴定的准确性是抗寒育种的技术瓶颈。多年来,品种抗寒性鉴定一直都是在自然条件下进行的,断崖式剧烈降温的天气不是每年都发生,所以很难对品种抗寒性进行准确鉴定和选择,迫切需要建立可以控制温度变化的品种抗寒性鉴定设施,模拟各种气温变化条件,实现品种抗寒性的精准鉴定。
