在很多材料与生命体系里，“界面”的酸碱度（pH）与溶液主体并不一样，却很难原位量起来——这一直困扰着从电催化到生物材料的研究。德国马普高分子所团队提出了一种原位测量界面pH的新方案：先用氨基硅烷把玻璃表面功能化，再共价固定一层pH敏感染料；随后在液体环境中通过共聚焦显微镜读取荧光信号的变化，并配套建立一个同时考虑表面电荷与酸碱平衡的理论模型，对测得的光学信号进行标定与解释。这一“实验+模型”的组合，不仅能读到界面“此时此地”的pH，还揭示了界面pH与体相pH的近似线性关系，且界面端的变化幅度更收敛。据此，作者将荧光读数直接换算为“界面真实pH”，实现了在不同溶液条件与操作窗口下的可靠原位监测。2025年8月21日，相关研究成果发表于《The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters》。
