    单根光纤是如何“跑”出皮秒级误差?相较传统的卫星和微波授时,光纤授时传播精度高、抗干扰能力强且便于维护。过去的长距光纤授时多采用双纤同波长方案,但主要存在2个问题:上下行信号在不同纤芯中往返,背散射噪声无法抵消;10 MHz低载频又限制了码元速率,短期抖动难降到10 ps以下。
    该研究选择在单根光纤上进行技术升级,可看作“划车道、提网速”。“划车道”即把上下行信号分配到C35(1549 nm)与C36(1548 nm)2条波道,像在单线铁路增设会车道,显著削弱同纤干扰和瑞利背散射噪声。“提网速”即把10 MHz的时钟倍频至125 MHz,再用数字锁相环精修相位,相当于把时钟“刷新率”提升1个量级,使短期抖动降到皮秒水平。
    相较于国际上迄今主要停留在实验室光纤的演示,本次基于单纤双波长技术的公用通信网络实地测试,标志着中国在超长距高精度时间传递领域迈入工程化、可规模部署的新阶段,为未来全球时空基准体系重构奠定了关键技术优势。
    若把5.6 ps换算成距离,光在真空中只能跑不到1.7 mm。也就是说,跨越秦岭和江汉平原的2061 km光路,其时间误差被压缩到一粒芝麻宽度。当时间可以被精确地“抓在手心”,一个更加稳固的时空基座正在成形——它既是未来量子互联网与深空探测的隐形脊梁,也让“精确到皮秒的中国时间”真正走出实验室。
