It further examines future trajectories for ocean drilling in operational frameworks, data management and utilization‌, and scientific goal formulation under evolving global contexts. Despite expanding drilling depths and scopes through half a century‌, vast unexplored oceanic regions and unresolved scientific challenges persist worldwide‌. With the retirement of the U.S. JOIDES Resolution, the joint European-Japanese initiation of IODP3, and China's newly commissioned 'Meng Xiang' drilling vessel‌, the IODP landscape faces transformative restructuring‌. Chinese scientists should align with national strategic priorities‌, track cutting-edge disciplines, strengthen international collaboration‌, leverage comparative advantages‌, and secure leadership in forthcoming scientific ocean drilling endeavors‌.

系统梳理国际大洋钻探50余年的钻探工作量、样品资料积累,以及在地球动力学、气候演变规律、生命起源与演化和海洋自然灾害等领域的重大科学成果产出,并分析了新形势下大洋钻探的在运营体系、数据资料管理与应用及科学目标制定等方面的发展方向。科学大洋钻探历经半个多世纪,不断刷新钻探的深度和广度,但全球洋底仍然存在大范围待探索的区域和亟待解决的科学问题。随着美国“决心”号钻探船退出历史舞台,欧洲、日本联合启动新一轮大洋钻探计划(IODP3),中国“梦想”号钻探船建成入列之际,IODP国际格局将迎来重大变革,中国科学家应当围绕国家战略发展需求,紧跟前沿科学领域,加强国际交流与合作,充分发挥自身优势,在未来科学大洋钻探领域占据主导权。

This paper systematically reviews drilling operations and sample data accumulation under the International Ocean Drilling Program over five decades‌, highlighting its groundbreaking scientific achievements in geodynamics, climatic evolution, origin and evolution of life‌, and marine natural hazards‌. It further examines future trajectories for ocean drilling in operational frameworks, data management and utilization‌, and scientific goal formulation under evolving global contexts. Despite expanding drilling depths and scopes through half a century‌, vast unexplored oceanic regions and unresolved scientific challenges persist worldwide‌. With the retirement of the U.S. JOIDES Resolution, the joint European-Japanese initiation of IODP3, and China's newly commissioned 'Meng Xiang' drilling vessel‌, the IODP landscape faces transformative restructuring‌. Chinese scientists should align with national strategic priorities‌, track cutting-edge disciplines, strengthen international collaboration‌, leverage comparative advantages‌, and secure leadership in forthcoming scientific ocean drilling endeavors‌.

1966年,美国国家科学基金会与斯克利普斯海洋研究所(Scripps Institution of Oceanography,SIO)签订合同,提供1260万美元资助以揭示海底地壳上层为目标的长期钻探计划,即举世瞩目的深海钻探计划正式启动。1968年,“格罗玛·挑战者”号钻探船首次出征墨西哥湾,执行深海钻探计划的第一航次[12]。50余年以来,从早期美国独家主导,到如今26个国家共同参与,国际大洋钻探计划先后经历了深海钻探计划(DSDP)(1966—1983年)、大洋钻探计划(ODP)(1983—2003年)、综合大洋钻探计划(IODP,也称IODP-1)(2003—2013年)和国际大洋发现计划(IODP,也称IODP-2)(2013—2024年)4个阶段(以下统一简称为IODP),发展成为地球科学领域迄今规模最大、历时最久、成效最显著的大型国际合作研究计划[34],如今即将迈入新的发展阶段。IODP利用大型钻探平台获取了大量宝贵的深海沉积物和岩石的样品及数据,在地球动力学、气候演变规律、生命起源与演化和海洋自然灾害等多个领域取得突破性成果,颠覆了人类对于地球科学的传统认知[2, 5]
大洋钻探船是科学大洋钻探运营的主要平台及探索深部地球的重要工具。自1968年以来,IODP经历了由美国“格罗玛·挑战者”号(简称“挑战者”号)和“乔迪斯·决心”号(简称“决心”号)钻探船独立承担钻探任务,发展到后来由美国“决心”号、日本“地球”号和欧洲“特定任务平台(MSP)”联合运作的局面(图 1)。2023年5月,美国国家科学基金会(NSF)宣布“决心”号计划于2024年9月退役,美国将暂时退出2025年后的国际大洋钻探领导层,标志着IODP运营格局迎来重大变革期。在此背景下,欧洲大洋钻探联盟(ECORD)与日本共同推动开展新大洋钻探计划IODP3,继续遵循“一个科学框架,多个平台运行”的模式,将于2025年1月1日正式启动。与此同时,中国新建的大洋钻探船“梦想”号已于2024年11月正式入列,与南北2个专用码头和2个大洋钻探样品库一起,构成中国自主运维的深海钻探体系,有望成为全球技术领先的新一代大洋钻探平台。本文从钻探工作量、数据资料积累及科学突破等3个方面系统梳理了50余年来国际大洋钻探计划所取得的成果,并结合当前的新格局分析了未来IODP的发展方向,为探索中国领导新阶段大洋钻探计划提供参考。
截至目前,IODP共执行完成了315个航次,获取岩心长度达484253 m,钻探站位遍布全球各大洋(表 1)。其中,中国于1998年加入ODP,自此一直是IODP的成员国之一。1999年、2014年、2017年,中国科学家作为航次共同首席科学家,在中国南海分别开展了ODP 184,IODP 349、367和368航次,在揭示低纬气候演变规律及南海构造演化模式等领域取得了重要进展[6]
从钻探工作海域看,太平洋和大西洋是2个核心靶区,钻探水深从浅海陆架直至远洋深海均有覆盖,占所有航次的比例分别约50% 和38%,这主要归因于两大洋独特的构造演化史及丰富的沉积记录(图 2)。相比之下,尽管高纬度海域在全球气候变化中扮演了重要角色,南大洋和北冰洋仅分别开展了9个和2个航次,但相关航次后研究却取得了世界瞩目的成果及认识(如IODP 302航次)[7]。鉴于极地海域对于完善全球钻探记录的必要性,加之新钻探船在海冰覆盖海域的执行能力提升,未来北冰洋及南大洋可能成为IODP新阶段的重点工作海域。从科学主题上看,IODP当前重点聚焦于地球动力学、气候与海洋变化、深部生物圈及自然灾害4大科学主题,其下又划分出众多分支重点学科领域,例如俯冲带、大型火成岩省、季风演化、海平面波动等。其中,构造(板块构造与洋壳结构)和古气候、古环境与古海洋学是截至目前IODP安排航次最多的科学主题,分别占比46%和24%(图 3),也是取得成果最为显著的两大科学领域,不仅推动了板块构造学重要理论的发展,也促进了古海洋学的兴起,对于揭示地球形成演化史及过去气候环境变化规律做出了举足轻重的贡献[8]。相比之下,深部生物圈及自然灾害相关领域发展于2003年后的IODP阶段,反映了学界对于探寻地球生命起源、行星宜居性及与人类相关的灾害预警预报的重视,相关主题领域预计在未来IODP阶段占据比例提升。
从钻探平台看,IODP航次主要由“决心”号和“挑战”号执行,两者总占比达91%(图 4),体现出美国在IODP所有阶段的主要领导地位。尽管“地球”号和特定任务钻探平台在IODP(2003—2013年)阶段加入进来形成“三足鼎立”的运营局面,但由于运行经费、领导权归属、钻探任务限定等问题,致使美国“决心”号仍然承担了大部分钻探任务[1]。2003年以来,“决心”号执行航次保持相对稳定,平均年度执行4个航次,2005年达到其历史峰值,共执行了7个航次,而在2007—2008年及2020—2021年则经历了2次低谷期。其中,在2007—2008年,为了适应新形势下的钻探和科学研究需求,“决心”号在新加坡进行了彻底的现代化改造,并于2009年开始重新执行大洋钻探任务。而2020—2021年,由于全球疫情影响,3大平台的航次排期和执行均推迟,这也是导致IODP(2013—2023年)阶段所提出众多科学问题仍然悬而未决。“地球”号自2005年入列以来,其主要目标是钻探日本东部深海发震带,以揭示发震机制、预测地震灾害。但受钻探海区海况及财政支出受限的影响,“地球”号年度执行航次波动较大,且执行任务不连续,2010年执行航次最多,共4个航次。2019年2月,“地球”号完成IODP 358航次后便停航修整,直至2024年9月再次执行IODP 405航次。与美、日钻探平台不同,ECORD没有固定的钻探船,而是采用租船打钻的方式,且主要针对大洋钻探船执行困难的海域(例如北冰洋),平均每两年执行1个航次,主要活跃于2007—2018年,在2021年以后执行大洋钻探航次明显减少(图 5)。从3大平台年度总执行航次数量上看,2009、2010、2012及2016年为显著活跃期。
自1968年以来,IODP在全球海域获取了海量的样品及数据,已被证实具有极大的科学价值。对于数据资料,随船测试所获数据集将在航次结束后公开在IODP数据库平台,科学家可对数据进行下载及处理分析;对于岩心样品,在船上进行初步的取样分析后,统一运送至对应的岩心库进行管理,可供有需求的科学家申请使用。
大部分情况下,在航次执行期间,登船科学家就需对所获岩心样品进行常规的分析和测试,包括岩性描述、岩心扫描、涂片分析、古生物鉴定、地球化学等,这些实验分析数据被储存在对应平台的科学数据库中,分别是美国实验室信息管理系统(LIMS)、日本数据库系统(J-CORES)和特定任务平台航次数据库(MSP expeditions database)[910]。在此基础上,登船科学家将进一步分析测试数据并总结形成航次报告,这些将为航次后研究提供重要参考。此外,与钻探过程相关的测井数据则统一储存在哥伦比亚大学的数据库中(LOGDB),主要包括波速、孔隙度、电阻系数等物理参数。对于航次后研究阶段,科学家利用岩心样品进行后续分析测试所获数据则一般上传至所发表出版物网站或其他科学数据库中,如PANGAEA数据库等。
自2003年以来,国际大洋钻探计划岩心库进行了改革与重组,由此前的4个岩心库缩减为目前的3个,分别为美国墨西哥湾海岸岩心库(美国得州农工大学岩心库)(GCR)、德国不来梅岩心库(BCR)和日本高知岩心中心(KCC)。岩心根据其所采集海域,被保管在特定的岩心库中(图 6)。
美国墨西哥湾海岸岩心库(GCR)位于美国得州农工大学,主要保存在东太平洋、加勒比海、墨西哥湾、南大洋海域获取的大洋钻探样品,目前已储存了DSDP、ODP、IODP(2003—2013年)、IODP(2013—2024年)阶段约108个航次的样品,岩心样品长度达152 km。该岩心库不仅拥有1400 m2的岩心冷藏室(4.4℃),还配备了温度低至−86℃的深度冷冻室,用于储存微生物样品。GCR运行费用由NSF提供,每年预算约100万美元。
不来梅岩心库(BCR)成立于1994年,位于德国不来梅大学,其低温冷藏区域达1100 m2,配备有可移动货架系统及最先进的配套实验室。BCR是IODP在大西洋、地中海、黑海、波罗的海及北冰洋钻获岩心的主要储库,目前储存有约106个航次的超192 km的深海岩心。此外,与“决心”号和“地球”号不同的是,由于ECORD使用的钻探船通常规模较小,无法在船上即时开展岩心初步分析测试工作,通常在航次结束后,岩心被统一运到BCR,登船科学家在此开展为期1个月的岩心描述、采样等工作。
2005年10月,日本海洋科技中心(JAMSTEC)成立了高知岩心中心,对深海钻探中采集的岩心样品进行加工、储存和研究。2007年,该中心成为IODP的3个官方岩心库之一,负责管理从印度洋、西太平洋和白令海采集的岩心样品。目前高知岩心中心存放的岩心长度达149 km,而且每年持续增加,最多可存放250 km长度的岩心。岩心储存在温度4℃、相对湿度80% 的储藏室中,其中一些特殊岩心也会被储存在−80℃和−160℃的冷冻室中,主要用于DNA和RNA等分子生物学研究。日本高知岩心中心包含了设备齐全的岩心处理室和样品实验室(如无机地球化学实验室、有机地球化学实验室、物性和沉积实验室、微生物实验室等),配备了多传感器岩心记录仪、岩心切割室、取样室、X射线CT扫描仪等仪器设备。
2023年,IODP整合归并3大岩心库的申请系统,科学家可通过样品和数据申请数据库(SDRM)网站(http://web.iodp.tamu.edu/sdrm/),根据自身需求对所有岩心库的样品提出申请,并遵守《IODP样品、数据和义务政策》。岩心样品通常会根据科研需求,科学家可在IODP官网查询所需岩心的取样背景、船测数据及剩余样品量等基本情况,并据此填写取样表和申请书。对应岩心库的管理员将对科学家的申请进行审核,例如所需样品余量是否充足等,可根据实际情况对样品申请进行调整。审核通过后,岩心库工作人员通常可帮助科学家完成取样并免费邮寄,科学家也可以亲赴岩心库进行现场取样。在获得样品后,科学家需在36个月内完成相关数据测试或论文发表,并在成果中注明样品由IODP提供。
IODP最早起源于1961年开始的“莫霍钻”计划,旨在于钻透莫霍面,揭示地壳之下地幔的真实面貌。然而,由于钻探技术的不成熟,IODP转而改变为钻取其上部覆盖的沉积物层,以探索深部和了解整个地球系统为目标,重点聚焦于了解海洋和大气的演变,揭示地球表面和内部过程的相互作用,探索海底深部生物圈及海底灾害过程。尽管当前IODP-2阶段的所有航次几乎完全结束,但是大部分研究工作仍在进行中,因此该阶段的重大研究进展主要集中于早期阶段。下文基于IODP 4大科学主题,重点针对DSDP、ODP、IODP-1及部分IODP-2阶段的科学进展进行梳理总结。
成功验证板块构造学说是IODP最具代表性的科学突破之一。板块构造学作为20世纪地球科学的重大理论,早在1960年代由多位科学家基于海底磁异常条带及重力、热流等地球物理测量数据提出,但一直缺乏直接的地质证据。在大西洋、太平洋及印度洋等多个航次的钻探结果发现,洋壳的形成年龄距离洋中脊越远而越老,且在洋中脊两侧年龄呈现出规律性变化,由此验证了海底扩张假说,为板块构造理论提供了一个基础性动力学机制,成功推动了地球科学领域的发展[1113]
此外,IODP在地球结构及动力学研究方面也作出了重要贡献。DSDP通过在全球不同扩张速率的洋壳上实施钻探,发现枕状拉斑玄武岩、破碎玄武岩熔合成的角砾岩过渡层和席状岩墙,揭示了全球洋壳分层模式及其复杂性,推翻了以往对洋壳单一层状结构的认知[14]。ODP 183航次在南印度洋凯尔盖朗海底高原实施钻探,在大火成岩省(LIPs)溢流熔岩上部沉积层中发现了指示浅海环境的化石证据,揭示了LIPs作为地幔出露的“窗口”经历了喷出形成火山岛,此后又沉降至海底以下的过程,增进了学界对于深部岩浆活动及其对全球气候影响的认识[15]。除了传统的钻探手段外,自ODP阶段开始首次在海底布放长期钻井观测装置(CORK),主要用于研究固体地球、水文地质、生物地球化学等过程[16]。例如,通过在东太平洋胡安·德富卡洋脊、墨西哥湾、冲绳海槽等区域布放CORK,对于揭示活动大陆边缘物质循环、海水—玄武岩—微生物间的相互作用具有重要意义[17]。2017年,IODP 367/368航次针对南海北部边缘洋—陆过渡带进行了钻探,揭示了南海没有任何富岩浆陆缘的特征,发现大陆岩石圈破裂过程,提出大陆张裂新模式[18]。2023年5月,IODP 399航次在大西洋中部亚特兰蒂斯钻取了超1 km的岩心样品,主要成分为蛇纹石化的橄榄岩,为揭示上地幔的组成及特征提供了理想研究材料。
“过去是预测未来的一把钥匙”。大洋钻探在海底获取的沉积记录最早可追溯到约2亿年前,由此可知地质历史时期以来的地球古气候与古海洋演变历史,是预测未来气候变化趋势的地质参考[19]。50多年来,IODP在揭示全球及区域气候演化规律方面发挥了重要作用。例如,钻探发现地中海底有大范围盐层,表明600万年前该区域曾经历过多次干涸事件。DSDP先后在大西洋、太平洋、印度洋等海域钻孔岩心中发现富有机质的白垩纪中期黑色页岩,代表其形成于停滞的缺氧水体环境,提供了白垩纪全球海域多次大洋缺氧事件的直接证据[20]。此外,IODP-1阶段实施了以季风为主题的系列航次,在阿拉伯海、安达曼海、孟加拉湾、澳大利亚西北岸外等海区实施了多个钻探,获得了百万年时间尺度区域水文气候演变的深海沉积记录,查明了季风演化与大陆风化/剥蚀间的密切联系,提升对地球系统不同圈层间相互作用及耦合关系的认识[21]
近年来,随着全球钻探记录的不断更新,科学家综合利用古地磁、放射性元素定年、古生物地层及高分辨率岩心扫描等方法,极大完善了岩心钻孔的年代标尺,对于不同沉积岩心间的年代框架建立及对比提供了参考。高分辨率沉积记录中地球轨道周期识别也推动了天文年代学的发展,对认识气候演变的轨道驱动机制具有重要贡献。此外,IODP也促进了对地球气候系统中不同圈层间(例如冰冻圈、大气圈、生物圈和水圈)的相互作用的理解。例如,基于沉积岩心中底栖有孔虫氧同位素记录,发现始新世与渐新世之交(约34 Ma),东南极冰盖大规模扩张,响应于全球CO2浓度下降[22]。基于沉积记录,发现古新世-始新世极热事件期间深层水环流发生逆转,上新世暖期则出现西风带向极地移动,均对未来气候变暖条件下气候系统的响应具有重要启示[23]。尽管南极冰芯仅详细记录了过去80万年以来的大气CO2浓度变化情况,但借助于长时间尺度的海洋沉积岩心可以将此记录扩展到白垩纪(大于100 Ma)以前,由此发现了大陆硅酸盐风化是调控地球长期大气CO2浓度的重要机制之一,进而维持全球气候系统的稳定性[24]。2018年以来,IODP在南极罗斯海、阿蒙森海等南半球高纬度海域执行了系列航次,探索古近纪以来西南极冰盖及环南极洋流演化历史,及其与海洋—气候变化的关联机制,发现西南极冰盖在早中新世(接近17.72~17.40 Ma)曾大规模扩张,解释了该阶段全球海平面的大幅度波动[25]
基于长期的气候演变规律及其驱动机制研究,国际大洋钻探计划提出了新生代气候节律和气候演变的冰盖驱动和热带驱动的“双重驱动”假说[2627]。ODP184航次首次发现碳循环的偏心率长周期,并将气候演变热带驱动落实在“全球季风”演变的新概念上,使得低纬全球季风演变的研究与冰盖消长一样,已成为国际过去全球变化的新命题。IODP 320、321航次在东赤道太平洋钻取了一系列保存完好、连续的深海沉积钻孔,揭示了新生代以来地表气候在大趋势上逐渐变冷,并呈现出冷暖交替的变化节律。
IODP钻探获取的沉积岩心中所保存的生物学记录可以被用于重建地质历史时期海洋生物的多样性及演化特征,尤其在探索生命起源和演化方面的应用。2010—2012年,IODP-1开展了3个专门针对深部生物圈的航次,通过对南太平洋环流区、大西洋中脊、冲绳海槽热液区及日本下北半岛岸外深部煤层区的钻探及研究,对深部生物圈有了较为明确的界定。2016年,“地球”号在日本南海海槽执行了IODP 370航次,该研究区域是探索深部生物圈温度极限的理想位置,航次科学目标在于探究深部生物圈与温度的关系。基于所获取的样品,研究发现在海底600 m以下仍然存在嗜热产甲烷细菌,揭示了生活在深处、炙热沉积物中的微生物有着极高的能量代谢率,为深部生物圈的温度极限提供了新见解[28]。此外,由MSP执行的IODP 364航次在希克苏鲁伯陨石坑进行了钻探,并对撞击作用和撞击过程、生物大灭绝、生命复苏、撞击后的沉积作用等重大科学问题开展研究。已有钻孔记录表明,在撞击后的短期内该盆地中就出现了新生命,且在3万年内重新建立起了高生产力的生态系统,揭示了生态系统对于快速灭绝事件的响应过程[29]。综上所述,IODP的研究揭示海底沉积物表面以下洋壳岩石中存在深部生物圈,是大洋科学钻探近年来最伟大的发现之一[30]。这些微生物群落对全球生物地球化学元素循环和海底地貌风化都具有重要的潜在影响。
IODP-2新增了预测未来、预警海洋灾害的科学主题,着力于构建人类时间尺度上的灾害过程和影响,例如地震海啸发生机理等。2016年,由“决心”号执行的IODP 362航次在苏门答腊岛北部进行钻探,旨在于探究地震、海啸成因的潜在影响因素。该航次重要成果之一是发现了大地震和海啸的发生与俯冲前沉积物脱水有密切关系,这一脱水过程增强了断层强度,可解释发生大地震/海啸的原因,对于认识发震机理及未来灾害预警具有重要意义[31]。由“地球”号所开展的“发震带”项目旨在于通过在俯冲带综合开展深海钻探、原位监测及摄动试验,深入研究地震的发生机理,以期最终实现地震预报。基于已有岩心及数据,研究发现日本近海发生的多次8级地震伴随着板块边界的慢滑移事件,每8~15个月重现1次,揭示了板块滑移所导致的地震发生周期性,为了解构造断层的滑动行为及其动力学效应提供了重要启示[32]
IODP的研究成果建立了地球表层与板块边缘深部之间碳循环关系新认识,围绕地球动力学过程、深部过程对地表环境的影响、监测和评估地质灾害,以及深部生物圈对地质灾害的潜在影响等方面,在断层类型、地质特征及诱发地震的构造活动、海底滑坡等灾害原因探究方面取得了重大进展。
历经半个多世纪,IODP利用先进的钻探平台及技术手段在全球洋底获取了高质量的岩心样品及数据,其研究结果揭示了不同时间和空间尺度上地球系统的演化过程、特征及机制,开创了地球科学领域研究的新纪元。此外,大洋科学钻探也推动了深钻技术和分析方法的创新,培养了大批优秀的科学家及工程师,为国际学术界构建了地球系统科学研究的合作及交流平台,增进了公众对于地球科学的了解。正值IODP发生重大变革之际,中国正在持续加大对大洋钻探事业的投入,新钻探平台“梦想”号的加入必将成为中国跻身国际大洋钻探计划领导层的关键契机,无疑也是中国深海基础科学研究发展的重要机遇。
当前欧日联合发起的IODP3将通过特定任务平台、“地球”号及日本其他钻探船继续在全球海域执行科学任务,并深化与其他钻探平台的合作。然而,两大平台仍将面临航次运行成本高昂、深钻技术尚不成熟等问题,或将导致IODP-2阶段遗留及新提交的航次建议书无法及时且高效地推进执行,尤其是“莫霍钻”的实现仍将遥遥无期。“梦想”号作为新一代钻探平台,具备全球海域无限航区作业能力和海域11000 m的钻探能力,若以平台提供者的身份进入到新国际大洋钻探计划体系中,将为延续大洋钻探的科学使命注入新生力量。为提升中国在国际大洋钻探领域的话语权,应当认真吸取各大平台的经验,借鉴学习IODP3组织架构体系的建设模式,积极推动国际间的合作交流,拓宽钻探的深度及广度,吸纳更多发展中国家参与进来,充分发挥自身平台的技术优势,推进制定适应新形势下的中国大洋钻探运营体系建立。
50余年以来大洋钻探为地球科学界留下了众多珍贵的数据资料遗产,具有重大的科学研究意义。2023年,美国IODP科学支撑办公室(SSO)提出了一种新的国际合作研究方案——大洋钻探样品数据研究计划(LEAPs),公开向全球科学家征集项目建议书,旨在于最大化利用IODP过去已获得的岩心样品及数据,支持开展多学科、大数据分析及新分析手段来解决现有科学框架下的前沿科学问题。在新旧大洋钻探阶段过渡期,中国大洋钻探体系的成熟仍需一定时间,而国际大洋钻探的合作形式尚不明朗。鉴于此,一方面中国科学家可以借此积极申请IODP样品及数据参与航次后研究,为未来大洋钻探科学问题的提出奠定基础;另一方面,可开展国际大洋钻探现有数据资料的汇编及整合,对于中国大洋钻探数据库的规范化管理及整合具有重要意义。
作为科学大洋钻探未来发展的指南,多年以来已逐渐从单手段发展到多手段并行,从聚焦长尺度发展到多尺度探究,从单学科发展到多学科交叉。2020年,IODP各成员国编写并发布了面向2050年的大洋钻探科学框架——《大洋钻探——探索地球》,聚焦于理解地球系统内部相互作用,提出了星球宜居性、板块构造、气候系统等七大战略目标[33]。2024年,美国科学界联合发布报告认为该框架无法满足其自身的利益需求,由此单独制定了未来规划,提出了5个优先研究领域[7]。当前,中国IODP正在加紧筹备编写《国际大洋钻探中国科学执行计划(2025—2035)》,重点围绕国家战略需求,同时结合国际前沿发展方向,凝练具有“中国特色”的大洋钻探及海洋科学的优先发展事项[3435]
中国自1998年加入ODP以来,持续派出科学家参与航次及相关活动,在南海深海研究等领域取得了突出成绩,形成了一支较高水平、具有国际竞争力的专业队伍。当前,强化中国对国际大洋钻探的投入、提高在国际合作中的地位,是我们建设海洋强国、加速发展深海科技的有效途径。
