Computing−aware traffic routing(CATR), building upon traditional IP networks, collaboratively perceives computing resource information to provide efficient and flexible network capabilities, enabling the effective coordination of computing resource and networks. With technological advancements, it is gradually moving toward industry practice. This article elaborates on and analyzes the progress in technical research and key enabling technologies of CATR, such as independent semantic computing service identification and hierarchical CATR. Based on this, it proposes technical expansion directions for CATR, such as hybrid computing−network service function chains, and highlights the advantages of deploying CATR in business applications. It is recommended to leverage the outcomes of standardization efforts to further promote the implementation of CATR related technology in products and business applications.

算力路由在传统IP网络的基础上协同感知算力信息,提供高效灵活的网络能力,使能算力和网络的高效协同,随着技术的发展逐步走向行业实践。阐述并分析了算力路由的技术研究进展及关键使能技术,如独立语义算力服务标识、层次化算力路由,并依此提出了算力路由的技术拓展方向,如算网混合式业务功能链,以及部署算力路由的业务应用优势,建议借助标准化工作成果来推动算力路由技术在产品和业务应用上的进一步落地。

Computing−aware traffic routing(CATR), building upon traditional IP networks, collaboratively perceives computing resource information to provide efficient and flexible network capabilities, enabling the effective coordination of computing resource and networks. With technological advancements, it is gradually moving toward industry practice. This article elaborates on and analyzes the progress in technical research and key enabling technologies of CATR, such as independent semantic computing service identification and hierarchical CATR. Based on this, it proposes technical expansion directions for CATR, such as hybrid computing−network service function chains, and highlights the advantages of deploying CATR in business applications. It is recommended to leverage the outcomes of standardization efforts to further promote the implementation of CATR related technology in products and business applications.

基于传输控制协议/网际协议(transport control protocol/Internet protocol,TCP/IP)的传统网络架构以及相关的数据传输技术推动了互联网(Internet)业务的近30年的蓬勃发展。但是在传统网络架构下,网络主要基于网络维度的状态如拓扑、链路状态等进行路由和转发,本质解决的是“去哪儿”的问题。然而,面对越来越多的云化、智能化业务需求,传统互联网模式的网络体系架构和数据传输模式越来越难以支持以算力网络为基础设施的新型业务发展需求和演进。因此,一种同时兼顾“网”和“算”的传输路由技术应运而生,其目的是解决“去哪儿+干什么(算力服务)”的问题。
算力优先网络(computing first network,CFN)旨在构建一个调度和连接分布式算力业务的新型网络,是算力路由技术的前身和技术始点。算力状态的感知及算力资源的调度主要通过应用层机制实现。算力下沉及分布式部署模式下,算力资源节点之间的复杂环回,以及带外业务发现,如域名系统(domain name system,DNS)导致的额外延迟,都成为算网深度协同及新型业务使能所面临的全新挑战。因此,在网络层引入对算力的感知和调度能力,可从根本上解决这些问题。
得益于算力网络在网络架构和传输技术上的创新,一些传统的业务模式也随之发生了改变,例如,基于云原生的应用越来越多地进入了人们的日常生活,各种人工智能(artificial intelligence,AI)应用也逐渐渗透到一些传统的生产和消费的服务中,这些业务在提供更为强劲的服务能力的同时,也能够提供相应高性价比的服务。因此,可以预见的是,在未来数字化经济蓬勃发展的道路上,算力网络及其相关的核心技术一定是推动未来产业变革的重要驱动因素之一。
算力是使能新型数字基础设施的新质生产力,在人工智能大模型等新型应用爆发式增长态势下,算力已成为支撑数字经济发展的关键基础资源。探索算网深度协同,挖掘更高性能、更多功能,已经成为行业高度关注并积极探索的焦点。算力网络是面向算网融合的新型基础设施,需要在分布式算力资源池间将算力服务和算力传输协同考虑,以“算力+网络”一体化形式,向算力用户提供端到端算网服务。
然而,传统的IP路由机制仅仅侧重于底层传输网络的状态,无法有效支撑对于算力需求较大,同时兼顾传输质量的新型业务的服务需求。因此,随着算力网络的发展,算力路由成为算力网络的核心底层技术。算力路由技术将算力信息引入路由域,让网络实时感知用户的算力需求、算力资源的状态以及网络自身的状态,通过统一控制和调度实现算力“自由流动”,优化算力和网络资源,为用户提供极致体验[1]。算力路由的关键特征是分布式多算力服务实例和多网络路径的联合优选,是基于IP网络架构的重要创新技术[2]
传统IP互联网的分层解耦设计使得网络作为信息管道独立发展为基础网络技术,业务得以脱离网络而进行独立业务创新,促进了通信和互联网的繁荣。然而,这种架构的缺陷是业务和网络处于互相割裂的状态,在有效的应用层传输质量保障方案的情况下,底层网络无法感知上层业务的真实需求,更不能满足在算力网络场景下的算网一体服务对于算力和网络协同的需求[3],具体表现在以下方面。
1)位置与资源相关的路由模式与算力业务部署模式不兼容。现行互联网采用固定的IP地址互联模式,应用调用某个服务,首先通过DNS查询服务名对应的IP地址。在泛在分布式的算力服务模式下,通过DNS查询IP地址的效率很低,需要多次内部信令绕行以确立最佳服务节点,无法满足增强现实/虚拟现实(augmented reality/virtual reality,AR/VR)、自动驾驶等高交互业务对快速响应的需求。同样,基于现有五元组机制进行算力业务关联也给网络带来巨大的状态维护压力,可扩展性面临较大挑战。
2)算力因子在路由系统的缺失,导致算网性能反转。IP路由协议只感知网络拓扑、链路状态、带宽资源等网络层的信息,无法感知算力服务及其资源信息,无法实现算力和网络资源的高效协同调度。多边缘算力协同场景下,仅仅考虑位置因素而不纳入算力因子的调度,导致边缘计算就近服务在很多场景下性能反而严重下降。
3)难以满足精细化识别业务等级协议(service level agreement,SLA)需求。目前网络只能根据地址+端口号组合(5−tuple)推断业务类型,但五元组不足以区分应用原子服务类型,且状态维护复杂,业务标识机制离散,不利于收敛和聚合。现网采用DPI(deep packet inspection−深度包检测技术)技术和AI技术来推断业务类型,但需消耗额外硬件资源,且难以应对数据流加密的场景[4]
4)算力状态的感知,冲击现有网络路由的稳定性和表项负荷能力。算力状态的颗粒度和更新频率分化非常大,迥异于网络拓扑和链路状态,网络路由系统直接引入算力状态,势必严重冲击路由表的稳定性及节点表项负荷能力。面对上述问题,算力路由技术开始逐步被关注,并在业界开展了广泛的研究。
面向未来智能化业务的蓬勃发展和新型业务场景,边缘计算将为用户提供灵活的就近接入和极致用户体验。因此,算力由集中到下沉,分布式资源和服务部署逐步成为新的行业趋势。同时,随着容器技术和微服务架构的发展,应用逐渐解构为更细颗粒度的功能和服务,对网络的需求也逐渐从面向主机寻址向面向服务、面向算力和面向资源寻址进行升级转变。面对IP网络在新场景下的问题,算力网络这种新的技术形态和运营模式应运而生,其基于算网一体设施提供互联网共性服务,有利于加快创新、降低部署成本、提升资源利用率,促进社会数字经济发展。
不同于传统IP网络,算力网络要求基于算网一体视角开展服务寻址和路由,即算力路由。算力路由将算力信息引入路由域,通过对用户的业务需求、算力资源和网络资源的信息感知,动态选择满足业务需求的“转发路径+算力服务节点”,将业务沿指定路径调度到指定服务节点,实现算力和网络资源的全局优化[56]。在实现算力路由方案部署上,不同的业务运营商可根据实际情况实施不同的部署策略,例如,可通过对基础网络设备的升级在数据转发面对算力路由信息进行处理,也可通过网络控制面进行算力路由策略的定制和下发,来控制转发面执行相应的路由策略。
算力路由作为算力网络的核心创新技术,是目前国内外标准组织平台的一个研究热点,其所涉及的场景、需求、架构及算力标识等研究正逐步取得共识。
国际标准化方面,国际互联网工程任务组(Internet Engineering Task Force,IETF)于2023年3月成立算力路由(computing−aware traffic steering,CATS)工作组[7],制定算力路由场景、需求、架构国际标准,网络和计算在IP路由层面融合已达成国际共识。国际电信联盟电信标准化分局(International Telecommunication Union –Telecommunication Standardization Sector,Study Group 13,ITU−T SG13)已批准Y.2501算力网络(computing power networks)、Y.3400算网协同(coordination of networking and computing)等算力网络标准,并在SG13及SG11展开系列算力网络相关的标准项目研究。
国内标准化方面,算力网络整体架构及算力路由技术主要在中国通信标准化协会CCSA TC3(China Communications Standard Association–Technical Committee 3)进行研究,行业标准《算力网络总体技术要求》定义了算力网络的总体网络功能架构及接口模块的技术要求,其定义的网络架构中,算力路由层是算力网络的核心功能层。行业标准《算力网络算力路由协议技术要求》已完成报批公示,《基于SRv6(Segment Routing over IPv6−基于IPv6的分段路由)的算力路由技术要求》《算力网络算力路由协议技术要求BGP(Border Gateway Protocol−边际网关协议)协议扩展》《算力网络算力路由协议技术要求OSPF(Open Shortest Path First–开放式最短路径优先)协议扩展》等算力路由行标正在CCSA TC3进行制定[8]。从国内外标准进展来看,算力网络整体架构目前已在国内外形成广泛关注,相关标准正在趋于稳定成熟。
当下诸如云渲染、AI+大模型等对计算需求较强的业务越来越多地应用于工业生产和日常生活中。各种云原生、边缘计算技术也更多地用于提高用户的业务体验和提升服务质量。以边缘计算为例,边缘计算提供了比云计算更低的响应时延和传输速率,因为它更接近最终用户,考虑到计算资源的容量和位置限制、高峰时段和成本等因素,简单的就近调度原则很多情况下无法满足业务需求,服务提供商会在多个边缘站点部署相同类型的服务实例[910]。因此,在算网融合的体系下,网络需要将业务流量调度到最合适的算力服务实例,通过独立语义算力服务标识将“算”和“网”拉通,基于算力路由将“选算”和“选网”的策略融合,既可以满足业务接入服务质量(quality of service,QoS)相关的SLA指标,也可以兼顾服务接入资源的最优成本/能耗约束条件,还可以满足算力和网络资源的均衡等多种用户(特定于服务的)需求。图 1为应用算力路由技术的算网融合体系架构示例。
图 1所示,算力路由作为传统网络层的一个演进能力,在算网控制系统的管理下,结合算力服务节点的算力状态和算力用户的业务需求,算力网络根据网络路径和目标算力服务节点的选择,来为某个业务请求规划出合适的算力路由,将用户请求引导至合适的服务节点上,同时兼顾了业务质量保障和网络资源的合理利用。
相比于IP路由技术,算力路由在路由寻址和转发调度方面进行了一些技术创新,下文对于算力路由中的一些典型的核心技术进行分析。
算力路由是网络系统根据算网资源状态在多个服务实例及多网络路径中优选算力节点和路径的算网融合路由过程,算力服务请求方仅向网络表达服务类型意向,但并不指向特定算力服务节点。在算网融合路由中引入独立语义算力服务标识[11],为IP网络提供一个面向业务和算力资源的新型独立接口,使网络可以基于服务标识向服务提供路由寻址功能,使能IP网络成为算网一体服务的新型能力平台。
算力路由技术是基于传统IP路由技术的能力扩展,在传统IP网络基础上增强扩展算力路由功能,逻辑上构建了一个算力路由功能子层,成为业务、算力和网络层之间的新型接口。算力路由功能子层的核心是以服务标识为索引进行算力与网络精细协同,使得服务终端得以通过服务标识发起位置和归属无关的业务连接和算力路由,使能算力互联。利用算力路由功能子层增强基于服务的算网感知和路由能力,实现算网深度融合并精细化使能算网资源调度,以兼容增量部署的方式在基础网络转发流程中,实现以服务标识为索引的算力路由,解决算网资源敏感、高效交互类新型业务场景和应用需求问题。图 2展示了一个将服务标识应用于算力路由技术的场景。
服务标识在语义上是与主机位置无关的独立语义标识,内生解决业务在传统网络中的主机位置迁移或地址变更导致的连续性问题。服务标识在网络控制面中关联业务SLA需求、算力及网络资源状态,生成基于服务标识的算力路由转发策略表。服务标识在数据转发面中是一种轻量级算网服务标识,算力感知网关设备根据业务流量中携带的服务标识进行算力路由转发,从而实现多服务数据流量的算力节点和网络路径综合优选,实现以服务为中心的高效算网调度和路由功能。
随着云原生应用开发和运维部署模式的成熟,云原生软件架构下算力服务开始具备自动化部署、持续集成交付且弹性可伸缩的特性。资源池内提供的算力服务具有高频变化的特点,若将其算力资源状态实时同步到网络,会导致算力路由协议震荡无法收敛。为保持算力路由的稳定,需要将算力资源状态进行层次化聚合和隔离,并对算力资源及服务提供相应层次化的路由转发调度。
层次化算力路由技术,将高频算力状态隔离维护在本地网络边缘,低频算力状态进行基础网络远程通告和维护。这种层次化路由机制,可解决高频变化算力状态对网络路由稳定性的冲击风险。层次化算力路由在控制面维护低频全局算力路由表和本地高频算力路由表,在转发面执行远端到本地算力网关、本地算力网关到算力实例的2级算力路由转发。
这种层次化算力路由机制实际上是2段式算力路由,为了更好实现算力服务保障,一方面,需要快速实时地计算算网联合状态,另一方面,需要快速检测算网服务质量,并触发算网业务动态计算和调整,以支持算力服务质量劣化情况下的快速定界和排障。由此衍生出的层次化算网操作、管理和维护(operations,administration,and maintenance,OAM)技术,将OAM从网络延伸到算力。图 3给出了算网OAM的需求和目标示例。
图 3所示,层次化算网OAM技术覆盖范围包括链路层OAM、隧道层OAM和服务层OAM。
1)链路层OAM(link OAM)。实现单个以太网链路的故障和性能检测。链路层是开放式系统互连(open system interconnection,OSI)模型中逻辑链路控制(logical link control,LLC)与介质访问控制(media access control,MAC)子层之间的数据链路层中实现的可选子层。
2)隧道层OAM(tunnel OAM)。通常一条隧道承载多种业务,隧道层OAM要保证网络故障或者业务增加情况下性能不出现劣化,对标签交换路径(label switched path,LSP)层实现故障和性能检测,从而实现业务保护。
3)服务层OAM(service OAM)。通常面向算力服务层进行检测,用于评估服务质量,同时实现业务保护。
基于IPv6的分段路由(segment routing over IPv6,SRv6)的算力路由功能扩展和增强平滑兼容现有IP基础架构,已逐渐成为业界共识。基于SRv6的算力路由,由智能感知的SRv6控制面、功能增强的SRv6转发面和灵活的SRv6管理面组成,对已部署SRv6的网络,通过扩展SRv6的可编程能力,可以感知算力服务和网络资源的状态,进行实时算力路由的调度,可以为用户提供泛在化的算力服务。
随着应用和服务愈来愈复杂和多样化,应用可分解为更细颗粒度的微服务,为了实现不同的应用需求,往往需要多个微服务的协同、串行或并行组合调用。另外,分布式部署的边缘计算,使得微服务得以就近部署于网络边缘,基于多边缘的算力互联成为新的算网部署范式。因此,算力路由需要具备为分布式算力提供广域资源调度的能力,以满足未来应用的发展。例如,某APP应用可解构为Service A、Service B和Service C 3种微服务,按顺序执行各自服务功能,共同对外提供整体服务,每个微服务部署在不同的资源池中,需要通过基础网络对这些算网混合服务进行链式连接。
图 4所示,混合服务功能链式互联技术可基于服务的互联协同组合,由应用业务层(管理面)负责微服务的功能拆解及编排、微服务需求管理及运营;由网络转发层(转发面)负责业务流量的实际转发,利用网络泛在大规模的连接能力和优质的算网联合调度能力,实现应用服务链式调度场景下端到端业务流量控制和服务保障;由网络控制层(控制面)的算力路由功能子层负责当前微服务的网络层终结,将业务流量路由至算力服务节点进行服务处理,并负责将应用服务需求映射为网络层需求,重新发起下一个子服务的路由操作。在网络中,应用算力链式互联技术由控制面计算和编排出以应用算力链标识和服务标识为索引的端到端跨域跨路径算力路由。其中,算力路由的索引为应用算力链标识和服务标识,转发路径可以通过如SRv6业务标识(SID−service identification)表征。
图 5介绍了2024江苏的内容交付网络(content delivery network,CDN)+算力路由试点项目中,基于算网融合体系的CDN调度方案验证了集中式算力路由方案的关键技术和预期效果。
图 5所示,CDN业务系统在无锡、苏州、徐州3地协同,其中无锡到苏州和徐州2个方向,分别部署2条10 GE传输专线,苏州和无锡分别对接独立的CDN资源服务器,用户从无锡发起CDN业务访问。在对比无算力路由和应用了算力路由的CDN调度和传输的测试结果后,可以总结出以下3点优势。
1)业务自愈能力。在网络质量下降的情况下,系统自动触发自愈机制。具体表现为:当检测到网络劣化时,用户的操作将重新发起链路建立请求。此时,新会话会被智能调度至其他可用的CDN节点,确保视频播放过程不受影响,维持流畅体验。
2)资源利用效率显著提升。通过优化调度策略和资源分配算法,实现了对更多用户访问需求的有效保障,尤其是在保证用户体验的前提下。直接促进了CDN资源利用率的跃升,相较于无算力路由提升了35% 以上。
3)DNS解析效率优化。针对DNS解析这一关键环节进行了深度优化,成功将平均解析时间缩短约30 ms,大幅减少了用户等待时间。
综上所述,应用了算力路由的CDN方案不仅显著降低了广域网服务响应时延,极大改善了终端用户的实际体验;同时,在算网感知技术的有力支撑下,实现了算网资源利用率、利用率均衡度及业务承载量的显著提升。
算力路由技术为算力网络提供了基础技术支撑,未来技术呈现出网络、计算、存储等融合趋势。由于涉及应用、业务和网络的复杂生态,行业中涌现出多样化技术解决方案,其共性特征和需求是在网络中引入业务标识,使能网络对业务的精细化感知和连接服务,以及对算力的高效感知和调度。
随着国内外算力路由标准的陆续落地,以及国内运营商的积极试点探索,算力路由已经进入产业规模落地的前夜。算网资源利用率在算力路由方案智能调度的支撑下得以大幅提升,已经得到初步试点验证。随着高效交互型业务(如云游戏)及无状态云原生业务的逐步部署,传统应用层的部分功能下沉至网络执行硬件级转发,即算力路由,势必将释放出巨大的功能和性能红利,从而使能更多新型业务。算力路由是IP层基础网络技术的增强创新,它从技术底座上突破了业务、网络、算力分离的传统模式,欲全面释放其内生技术潜力,也取决于算力和应用部署形态的跃迁升级。从算力侧来看,新型容器网络开源生态下,算力路由将得以实现“无盲区”“无黑盒”式入算,最大化分布式全局算力资源的智能均衡。应用侧来看,基于用户和业务无状态的新型应用部署模式下,算力路由得以实现硬件级业务无缝热切换,从而使能用户无感灵活调度等新型应用场景。
同时,对算力路由的基础技术底座而言,简明高效的算力度量模型、端网算统一拉通的服务标识体系、基于算力感知的增强IP协议体系等,均需要一个活跃高效的产业标准生态,合力推进,稳健实施。
期待在不久的将来,算力路由技术能够持续创新,提升算力生产力,为各行各业带来前所未有的创新性变革,开启数字经济高质量发展的新篇章。
