The mutual beneficial role between the progress of science and technology and the development of the laboratory animal welfare is specially addressed. 实验动物是生命科学研究和生物医药产业重要的材料。实验动物福利不仅是保障其健康和快乐生活，更是为了获得准确的、可靠的、可重复的研究结果。本文叙述了实验动物福利的发展历程，介绍了新的科学技术对实验动物福利的促进作用以及实验动物福利要求对科学技术进步的推动作用，指出了中国实验动物福利的不足之处。
The laboratory animal is an important tool in the life science and the biomedical industry.
