In this paper, binary copolymerized polyimide precursors polyamic acid PAA-A and PAA-B were first synthesized using pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) with 4,4′-diaminodiphenyl ether (ODA) and p-phenylenediamine (PPDA), respectively. The corresponding polyimides PI-A and PI-B were then obtained via thermal amide cyclization. Subsequently, block copolymerized polyamide acid PAA-AB was obtained through the reaction of PAA-A and PAA-B, and block copolymerized polyimide PI-AB was also obtained through thermal amide cyclization. Finally, the chemical structure, aggregation structure, and cross-sectional morphology of the three PI were characterized, and their mechanical properties, dielectric properties, electric strength, and electronic structure were tested and analyzed. The results show that the introduction of the third monomer PPDA and ODA does not induce the formation of defects in PI-AB. Furthermore, due to the alteration in chemical structure, the molecular chain spacing of PI-AB slightly increases compared to that of PI-A, which results in a decrease in its glass transition temperature. The electric strength of PI-AB is 6.18% higher than that of PI-A. The dielectric loss factor of PI-AB remains below 0.07 in the frequency range. Moreover, the band gap of PI-AB is wider than that of PI-A, making electron excitation more difficult, which demonstrates that PI-AB has superior insulating properties.

本文首先以均苯四甲酸酐(PMDA)分别与4,4′-二氨基二苯醚(ODA)和对苯二胺(PPDA)合成二元共聚聚酰亚胺前体聚酰胺酸PAA-A和PAA-B,再通过热酰亚胺环化分别得到聚酰亚胺PI-A和PI-B。随后通过PAA-A与PAA-B反应得到嵌段共聚聚酰胺酸PAA-AB,再同样通过热酰亚胺环化得到嵌段共聚聚酰亚胺PI-AB。最后表征3种PI的化学结构、聚集态结构和断面形貌,测试并分析3种PI的力学性能、介电性能、电气强度和电子结构。结果表明:第三单体PPDA、ODA的引入并没有引起PI-AB缺陷的形成,且由于化学结构的改变,PI-AB的分子链间距较PI-A略有增加,进而使其玻璃化转变温度较PI-A有所下降。PI-AB电气强度相较于PI-A提高了6.18%,PI-AB的介质损耗因数在频率范围内均低于0.07,PI-AB的禁带宽度较PI-A更大,电子不易跃迁,表明PI-AB具有更优异的绝缘性能。

本文首先以均苯四甲酸酐(PMDA)分别与4,4′-二氨基二苯醚(ODA)和对苯二胺(PPDA)合成二元共聚聚酰亚胺前体聚酰胺酸PAA-A和PAA-B,再通过热酰亚胺环化分别得到聚酰亚胺PI-A和PI-B。随后通过PAA-A与PAA-B反应得到嵌段共聚聚酰胺酸PAA-AB,再同样通过热酰亚胺环化得到嵌段共聚聚酰亚胺PI-AB。最后表征3种PI的化学结构、聚集态结构和断面形貌,测试并分析3种PI的力学性能、介电性能、电气强度和电子结构。结果表明:第三单体PPDA、ODA的引入并没有引起PI-AB缺陷的形成,且由于化学结构的改变,PI-AB的分子链间距较PI-A略有增加,进而使其玻璃化转变温度较PI-A有所下降。PI-AB电气强度相较于PI-A提高了6.18%,PI-AB的介质损耗因数在频率范围内均低于0.07,PI-AB的禁带宽度较PI-A更大,电子不易跃迁,表明PI-AB具有更优异的绝缘性能。

In this paper, binary copolymerized polyimide precursors polyamic acid PAA-A and PAA-B were first synthesized using pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) with 4,4′-diaminodiphenyl ether (ODA) and p-phenylenediamine (PPDA), respectively. The corresponding polyimides PI-A and PI-B were then obtained via thermal amide cyclization. Subsequently, block copolymerized polyamide acid PAA-AB was obtained through the reaction of PAA-A and PAA-B, and block copolymerized polyimide PI-AB was also obtained through thermal amide cyclization. Finally, the chemical structure, aggregation structure, and cross-sectional morphology of the three PI were characterized, and their mechanical properties, dielectric properties, electric strength, and electronic structure were tested and analyzed. The results show that the introduction of the third monomer PPDA and ODA does not induce the formation of defects in PI-AB. Furthermore, due to the alteration in chemical structure, the molecular chain spacing of PI-AB slightly increases compared to that of PI-A, which results in a decrease in its glass transition temperature. The electric strength of PI-AB is 6.18% higher than that of PI-A. The dielectric loss factor of PI-AB remains below 0.07 in the frequency range. Moreover, the band gap of PI-AB is wider than that of PI-A, making electron excitation more difficult, which demonstrates that PI-AB has superior insulating properties.

聚酰亚胺(PI)凭借密度小、强度高、易加工成型以及耐热性能优异等优点,已广泛应用于聚合物基板、柔性显示器等领域[1-3]。随着科技的发展,对于具有更高电气强度PI的需求日益迫切[4-7]
在全球能源危机日益严峻及科学技术快速发展的背景下,各领域对储能材料的介电性能提出了更高要求[8-9],其中具有高介电常数、高电气强度的PI材料备受关注。目前,针对本征型高介电PI的制备与改性研究已成为该领域的重要研究方向[10]。史帅达等[11]以加捻聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)纤维为中间层,PI膜为底层和表面层,制备PI/PTFE/PI复合膜。结果表明,复合膜在具有低介质损耗的同时仍保留一定的电气强度。喻文章等[12]以3,3′,4,4′-二苯甲酮四羧酸二酐(BTDA)作为二酐单体合成了两种含三氟甲基的芳香二胺单体,选用端氨丙基聚二甲基硅氧烷(APPS)作为柔性链单元,间氨基苯乙炔(APA)作为活性封端剂,制备了一系列加成型热固性含氟聚(酰亚胺-硅氧烷)共聚树脂(ABIS),结果表明ABIS薄膜具有优异的介电性能。卓俊添等[13]利用物理气相沉积技术,在具有高玻璃化转变温度(Tg)的热塑性PI(TPI)薄膜表面沉积氧化铝(Al2O3)镀层,制备了具有无机/有机/无机三明治结构的Al2O3/TPI/Al2O3电介质薄膜。结果显示,Al2O3镀层不仅与TPI之间具有优异的界面结合性,还提高了肖特基势垒,抑制了电极电荷的注入,从而降低了高温下的泄漏电流,提高电气强度的同时显著地提高了TPI在高温下的介电性能。孙维凯等[14]在制备含氟PI(FPI)的前驱体PAA时加入有机碱,制得水溶性PAA盐(PAAS),采用低介电聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)浓缩分散液与干燥后的PAAS进行复合形成水分散体系以制备PTFE/FPI复合薄膜,为开发兼具低介电常数和低介质损耗的PI基复合薄膜提供了思路。徐湘月等[15]采用均苯四甲酸酐(PMDA)与4,4′-二氨基二苯醚(ODA)经二步法合成了一系列PAA溶液,随后与云母或海泡石浆料混合,经流延涂膜、去溶剂和亚胺环化等步骤制备了一系列PI复合膜。结果表明云母的加入明显改善PI复合膜的介电性能。ZHAO W J等[16]通过引入1,3,5-三(4-氨基苯基)苯(TAPB),成功合成了具有不同交联结构的新型交联PI薄膜。通过改变TAPB的添加顺序,获得了不同交联结构的PI薄膜。随着TAPB的加入,链间和链内交联网络的形成有效改善PI薄膜的介电性能。ZHOU B Y等[17]提出了一种基于侧链型吡啶-铜配位的新颖PI铜复合材料(POP-Cu),其表现出了极低的介质损耗和高电气强度。
基于上述研究成果,本研究采用溶液共混法制备嵌段共聚聚酰胺酸(PAA-AB),经梯度热亚胺环化得到PI-AB薄膜;随后通过万能试验机、高压击穿测试仪和宽频介电阻抗谱仪等系统表征薄膜的力学性能、电气强度和介电性能。本研究以调控PI的综合物化性能为出发点,希望为开发具有高电气强度、低介质损耗的的新型PI提供新策略和新思路。
N-甲基吡咯烷酮(NMP),分析纯,天津市科密欧化学试剂有限公司;均苯四甲酸酐(PMDA)、对苯二胺(PPDA)、4,4′-二氨基二苯醚(ODA),纯度均为98%,阿拉丁试剂(上海)有限公司。
各原料用量如表1所示。将ODA溶解于NMP中,加入到接有氮气保护、搅拌装置的250 mL三口烧瓶中,缓慢分3次加入PMDA,待体系完全溶解后继续反应6~7 h得到溶液PAA-A,反应过程如图1(a)所示。随后通过旋涂、梯度升温(100℃/1 h+150℃/1 h+200℃/1 h+250℃/1 h+275℃/1 h)热酰胺环化处理得到PI-A。
各原料用量如表2所示。将PPDA溶解于NMP中,加入到接有氮气保护、搅拌装置的250 mL三口烧瓶中,缓慢分3次加入PMDA,待体系完全溶解后继续反应6~7 h得到溶液PAA-B,反应过程如图1(b)所示。随后通过旋涂、热酰胺环化得到PI-B。需要注意的是,由于PI-B脆性过大,无法成膜,PI-B的部分性能测试不进行讨论。
将PAA-A与PAA-B加入到接有氮气保护、搅拌装置的250 mL三口烧瓶中,室温搅拌6~7 h,得到PI-AB前体(PAA-AB)。将PAA-AB通过旋涂、梯度升温(100℃/1 h+150℃/1 h+200℃/1 h+250℃/1 h+275℃/1 h)热酰亚胺环化得到PI-AB,反应流程如图2所示。
采用傅里叶变换红外光谱仪(FTIR,Nicolet 6700型,赛默飞公司)进行结构分析,测试波数范围为3 500~500 cm-1;采用X射线衍射仪(XRD,D8 ADVANCE型,布鲁克公司)进行结构表征。
采用场发射扫描电子显微镜(SEM,S4800型,日立公司)表征材料表面的微观形貌,喷金处理,真空条件下进行测试;采用原子力显微镜(AFM,NanoWizard 4 XP型,JPK公司)对PI-A、PI-B及PI-AB的微观形貌进行表征。
采用电子试验机(Model 44型,美国MTS公司)进行力学性能测试,测试参照GB/T 1040.1—2018进行,试样宽度为10 mm,测试初始标距为28 mm,拉伸速率为5 mm/min,测试温度为室温。
采用宽频介电阻抗谱仪(Concept 40型,雷迈科技有限公司)测试试样的介电常数;采用电气强度仪(CS9916BX型,深圳和普泰克电子有限公司)进行电气强度测试,每个样品进行多次测试,并通过Weibull分布拟合得到电气强度,测试温度为25℃。
采用Gaussview 6.0和Gaussian 16W计算PI-A、PI-B以及PI-AB的电子结构和能级分布。
本文采用两步法制得PI-A与PI-AB[18],其红外图谱如图3所示。从图3可以看到,在1 776 cm-1和1 716 cm-1处分别是酰亚胺环上C=O的非对称伸缩振动吸收峰与对称伸缩振动吸收峰,1 360 cm-1处为酰亚胺环上的C-N-C伸缩振动峰,720 cm-1处为酰亚胺环的弯曲振动峰,意味着PI-A、PI-B的成功合成[19-20]
采用X射线衍射仪分析了PI-A、PI-B与PI-AB的凝聚态结构,结果如图4(a)所示,并基于Bragg公式计算了3种PI的分子链间距[21],如式(1)所示,具体结果见图4(b)

式(1)中:d是分子链间距;θ是衍射角;n为衍射级数,n=1;λ为波长,λ=0.154 nm。
图4可知,PI-A在2θ=15°~25°出现一个宽而弱的特征峰,表明其分子链排列以无定形为主,这与ODA结构中醚键的柔性结构导致的堆砌无序性一致[22],其分子链间距为0.44 nm。PI-B在2θ=17°~22°出现尖锐衍射峰,说明其分子链因PPDA的刚性结构形成了局部有序排列,结晶性显著高于PI-A[23-24],其分子链间距为0.43 nm。PI-AB在2θ=15°~25°出现一个宽而弱的特征峰,显示双峰叠加特性,既保留了PI-A的无定形弥散峰,又继承了 PI-B的结晶衍射峰,但峰强度有所减弱。这一现象证实PI-AB为非均相嵌段结构,两相微区(PI-A与PI-B链段)存在部分相容性,但未形成完全均一的晶态结构,其分子链间距为0.45 nm,表明嵌段共聚后分子链堆砌状态发生重构,π-π共轭效应破坏界面相互作用[24]
图5为PI-A与PI-AB的DSC曲线。从图5可以看出,PI-A的玻璃化转变温度(Tg)为222.7℃,PI-AB的Tg为219.7℃,较PI-A略有下降。PI-AB的Tg下降可归因于:①由XRD数据分析可知,PI-AB的分子链间距较大,其分子链段产生运动需要的能量比 PI-A更低;②由于嵌段结构破坏了分子链的规整性,引起PI-AB分子链间的范德华力作用减弱,促进了分子链段的运动。
图6为PI-A、PI-B与PI-AB的断面SEM图像。由图6可知,PI-A、PI-B与PI-AB薄膜均具有致密的结构,断面无明显的孔洞与缺陷,光滑平整,这表明第三单体PPDA、ODA的引入并没有引起PI-AB缺陷的形成[25]
图7为PI-A、PI-B与PI-AB的原子力显微镜(AFM)图。由图7可计算得到PI-A、PI-B、PI-AB的平均粗糙度(Ra)分别为0.162、0.173、0.169 nm,这表明PI-AB的表面粗糙度保持在较低水平,可避免表面电子聚集引起的局部电击穿。
采用万能试验机探究了PI-A与PI-AB薄膜的力学性能,结果如图8所示。从图8可以看到,PI-A薄膜的拉伸强度为(131.74±3.20)MPa,而PI-AB薄膜的拉伸强度为(110.36±2.80)MPa,相较于PI-A薄膜有所降低。上述结果可归因于以下两个方面:①化学结构对聚合物力学性能的影响十分显著[26],刚性结构的引入略微降低了PI-AB薄膜的力学性能[27];②相较于PI-A,PI-AB分子链间距有一定程度的提高,而分子链间距提高会导致自由体积增加,从而导致拉伸强度降低[28]
电气强度决定了薄膜能够承受的最高电场强度。当施加的电场强度超过电气强度时,薄膜会发生不可逆的损坏[29],因此,研究PI薄膜的电气强度对于其实际应用至关重要。
为了分析PI-A与PI-AB电气强度的大小,选用Weibull分布函数(式(2))来拟合击穿测试结果。

式(2)中:P(E)为击穿概率,%;E为样品实测的电气强度,kV/mm;Eb为样品击穿概率为63.20%时的特征电气强度,kV/mm;β为Weibull参数。
对于PI-A与PI-AB薄膜测试得到的介电电气强度,其相应的P(E)i可用式(3)计算得到。

式(3)中:i为按PI-A与PI-AB薄膜测试电气强度升序排列的次序数值;n为每个PI-A、PI-AB薄膜总测试次数。每个样品测试10次,并通过Weibull分布拟合得到Weibull电气强度。
PI-A与PI-AB的击穿特性Weibull分布和电气强度如图9所示。从图9可见,PI-A的电气强度为387.61 kV/mm,PI-AB的电气强度为411.58 kV/mm,相较于PI-A提高了6.18%。上述结果可归因于:①苯环共轭效应的破坏,导致PI-AB薄膜电气强度的提高[24];②醚键的存在会促进分子链的运动,有助于阻断电击穿过程中的电树枝发展,提高PI-AB薄膜的电气强度[30]
采用宽频介电阻抗谱仪分析了PI-A与PI-AB的介电性能,结果如图10所示。从图10(a)可以看出,PI-AB的介电常数高于PI-A的介电常数,这是由于PI-AB中的苯环共轭结构被破坏,使其具有较小的链堆积密度和较弱的分子间作用力,有助于偶极子的取向极化,进而提升介电常数[31]。PI-A和PI-AB的介电常数均随频率增加而逐渐降低,这归因于内部偶极子的取向极化无法跟上外界交变电场的频率变化。对于介质损耗而言,PI-AB的介质损耗因数在低频率范围(<103 Hz)内低于PI-A的介质损耗因数,这是由于低频率范围内介质损耗主要源于空间电荷界面极化,而刚性结构的引入限制了PI-AB分子链的运动,从而降低了介质损耗;但随着频率的增加,PI-AB的介质损耗因数逐渐高于PI-A,这是因为当频率增大时,偶极子极化引起的弛豫损耗占据主要位置[32];另外由于PI-AB的分子链间距大于PI-A,有助于偶极子的取向极化,但当外界电场频率增加到一定程度后,偶极子跟不上电场变化,导致其弛豫损耗增加明显[33]。从图10(b)可以看出,PI-A与PI-AB的电导率与测试频率基本呈线性关系,表明均具有良好的绝缘性能[34]。此外,1 Hz下PI-AB的电导率比PI-A的电导率低一个数量级,表明PI-AB的绝缘性能较PI-A更好,与前文PI-AB具有更高的电气强度相对应。
表3为相关文献中含氟PI(FPI)[35-36]和含氟芳香族二胺PI(TPPI)[37]与PI-A、PI-AB在1 MHz下的介电性能对比。从表3可以看出,PI-A与PI-AB均具有更高的介电常数,且其能在保持较高介电常数的同时具有较低的介质损耗因数。
基于密度泛函理论(DFT)计算了PI-A、PI-B与PI-AB分子链单元的最高占据分子轨道(HOMO)和最低未占据分子轨道(LUMO)能级,所用基组为B3LYP/6-31G(d),通过Multiwfn程序分析了PI-A、PI-B与PI-AB的静电势(ESP)分布,结果如图11所示。从图11可以看出,PI-A的HOMO能级为-6.01 eV,LUMO能级为-3.51 eV,禁带宽度为2.50 eV;PI-B的HOMO能级为-6.45 eV,LUMO能级为-3.16 eV,禁带宽度为3.29 eV;PI-AB的HOMO能级为-6.19 eV,LUMO能级为-3.57 eV,禁带宽度为2.62 eV。上述差异可归因于:①醚键的引入破坏了π-π共轭结构,扩大了分子链间距,从而导致PI-AB带隙宽度相较于PI-B更大[38];②PI-AB主链中引入具有大平面共轭结构的重复单元,会扩展π电子云分布,促进载流子迁移速率,使PI-A的带隙宽度相较于PI-AB更窄[37]图12为PI-A、PI-B与PI-AB的静电势范围内的面积百分比。从图12可以看出,PI-A的最高静电势为20.00,PI-B的最高静电势为20.00,PI-AB的最高静电势为26.67,表明PI-AB具有更强的吸引电子能力,可以作为电子陷阱位点,有效捕获电极界面注入及体相内生成自由电子[38]
本文采用不同单体制备PI-A与PI-B前体PAA-A与PAA-B,随后采用溶液共混法制备PI-AB前体PAA-AB,最后通过热酰胺环化得到PI-AB薄膜,得到主要结论如下:
(1)刚性结构的引入使分子链间距减小,从而导致分子间作用力增强,分子链堆积密度相对增大,从而使PI-AB的分子链间距(0.45 nm)大于PI-A的分子链间距(0.44 nm);此外,醚键的存在会促进分子链的运动,有助于阻断电击穿过程中的电树枝化,进而使PI-AB的电气强度较PI-A提高6.18%。
(2)PI-AB中苯环共轭结构被破坏,使其具有较小的链堆积密度和较弱的分子间作用力,进而使其具有较PI-A更高的介电常数。1 Hz下,PI-AB的电导率比PI-A的电导率低一个数量级,表明PI-AB的绝缘性能较PI-A更高。
(3)醚键的引入破坏了π-π共轭结构,扩大了分子链间距,且主链中引入具有大平面共轭结构的重复单元,会扩展π电子云分布,促进载流子迁移速率,故PI-AB的带隙宽度(2.62 eV)较PI-A的带隙宽度(2.50 eV)更大,具有更优的绝缘性能。
