A high resistance insulating layer for edge protection of carbon-ceramic linear resistors was prepared using SiO2-Al2O3-B2O3 ternary glass as matrix and mullite as filler. The adaptability of expansion coefficient between high resistance insulating layer and resistance ceramic was studied, and the voltage shock resistance was tested using impulse voltage of 1.2/50 μs. The results show that the glass content affects the expansion coefficient, porosity, and electric strength of the high resistance insulating layer. When the glass content in the high resistance insulating layer is more than 80%, the electric strength of the resistance shows a significant downward trend. With the increase of the coating thickness of the high resistance insulating layer, the electric strength of the carbon-ceramic linear resistance increases obviously. When the thickness of the high resistance insulating layer is controlled at about 0.35 mm, the electric strength of the resistance reaches the maximum value. Using SF6 gas in place of air can increase the resistance significantly. In the SF gas environment of 0.2 MPa, under the protection of high resistance insulating layer, the withstand flashover voltage of the resistance reaches 22.5 kV, which is 80 % higher than that without protection.

以SiO2-Al2O3-B2O3三元系玻璃为基体,莫来石为填料,制备了用于碳-陶瓷线性电阻边缘保护的高阻绝缘层。研究了高阻绝缘层和电阻瓷体的膨胀系数适配性问题,并采用1.2/50 μs的冲击电压测试了电阻的耐电压冲击性能。结果表明:玻璃含量影响高阻绝缘层的膨胀系数、气孔率以及电气强度。当高阻绝缘层中的玻璃含量大于80%时,电阻的电气强度呈现明显的下降趋势;随高阻绝缘层的涂覆厚度增加,碳-陶瓷线性电阻的电气强度明显提高,当高阻绝缘层涂覆厚度控制在0.35 mm左右时,电气强度达到最大值;使用SF6气体代替空气能明显提高电阻的闪络电压,在0.2 MPa的SF6气体环境中,有高阻绝缘层保护的电阻耐受的闪络电压达到了22.5 kV,比缺乏保护的电阻提高了80%。

A high resistance insulating layer for edge protection of carbon-ceramic linear resistors was prepared using SiO2-Al2O3-B2O3 ternary glass as matrix and mullite as filler. The adaptability of expansion coefficient between high resistance insulating layer and resistance ceramic was studied, and the voltage shock resistance was tested using impulse voltage of 1.2/50 μs. The results show that the glass content affects the expansion coefficient, porosity, and electric strength of the high resistance insulating layer. When the glass content in the high resistance insulating layer is more than 80%, the electric strength of the resistance shows a significant downward trend. With the increase of the coating thickness of the high resistance insulating layer, the electric strength of the carbon-ceramic linear resistance increases obviously. When the thickness of the high resistance insulating layer is controlled at about 0.35 mm, the electric strength of the resistance reaches the maximum value. Using SF6 gas in place of air can increase the resistance significantly. In the SF gas environment of 0.2 MPa, under the protection of high resistance insulating layer, the withstand flashover voltage of the resistance reaches 22.5 kV, which is 80 % higher than that without protection.

碳-陶瓷线性电阻是广泛应用于高压断路器上主闸口的并联器件,主要的作用是在进行分合闸操作时通过吸收电能来抑制电路上产生的操作过电压、抑制电弧重燃[1-5]。在高压断路器操作过程中,碳-陶瓷线性电阻会承受高电压的冲击。高压开关用碳-陶瓷线性电阻由导电炭黑材料、结合黏土及煅烧骨料高温烧结而成[6-10],其电阻率较低,通常在70~1 000 Ω·cm,电阻侧表面为非绝缘的半导状态。同时,在生产制造过程中电阻侧表面易形成气孔、裂纹等缺陷,导致碳-陶瓷线性电阻极易在高电场强度下发生沿面闪络。
为了提高碳-陶瓷线性电阻对冲击电压的耐受能力,可以在电阻侧表面涂覆高阻绝缘层,将电阻侧表面由半导体/空气界面变成绝缘体/空气界面,从而降低电阻沿面闪络的发生。由于碳-陶瓷线性电阻在工作时会产生高温,这就要求其侧表面涂覆的高阻绝缘层能耐受1 000℃以上的温度。一种可行的方案是在电阻瓷体侧表面烧结无机高阻绝缘层,进一步,为了使绝缘涂层具备良好的憎水性和耐污能力[11-17],通常采用玻璃类材料作为高阻绝缘层材料。
碳-陶瓷线性电阻瓷体的膨胀系数较低,而玻璃的膨胀系数较高。因此需要研究玻璃与电阻瓷体膨胀系数相匹配的问题,同时玻璃须拥有足够的结合强度。高阻材料烧结过程,不应与电阻瓷体发生烧结反应,以防止界面层碳链分布发生变化,造成界面层电阻率变化,影响电阻通流能力;而熔结在电阻侧面,则可达到提高表面绝缘强度的目的,提高电阻沿面闪络电压。
本研究选择硼硅玻璃作为基料,添加莫来石颗粒调节玻璃高阻绝缘层的膨胀系数,使其与电阻瓷体膨胀系数相匹配;添加可塑性黏土使玻璃高阻绝缘层获得良好的涂覆工艺性能。通过改变玻璃含量及高阻绝缘层的涂覆厚度,研究碳-陶瓷线性电阻侧表面高阻绝缘层的保护特性,获得最佳的配方及工艺参数。
碳-陶瓷线性电阻是由导电炭黑材料、可塑性黏土和煅烧铝矾土骨料组成,经配料-混料-造粒-干压成型-高温还原气氛烧结而成的多孔陶瓷。玻璃高阻绝缘层以SiO2-Al2O3-B2O3三元系玻璃为基体,以莫来石颗粒为填料,二者质量总和为100%;5%的膨润土为粘合剂,1%的氧化铬为着色剂,经球磨混合后,涂覆在电阻瓷体侧表面,在氮氢混合气体中经700℃烧结,保温2 h后测试性能。玻璃含量取高阻绝缘层质量分数的45%、55%、65%、75%、85%;高阻绝缘层涂覆厚度分别为0.15、0.35、0.55 mm。
本实验依据阿基米德排水法原理测量高阻绝缘层的气孔率;采用QJ57型直流四臂电桥(上海电表厂)测量电阻的阻值;采用VE-9800型扫描电子显微镜(SEM)(日本KEYENCE公司)观察电阻瓷体和玻璃高阻绝缘层的界面微观形貌;采用1.2/50 μs的冲击电压发生装置对碳-陶瓷线性电阻进行电压耐受实验。
电阻瓷体和高阻绝缘层的膨胀系数相差过大会在二者界面产生应力使高阻绝缘层脱落。通过在玻璃料中加入低膨胀系数的莫来石颗粒,可以调节高阻绝缘层的膨胀系数。图1为不同玻璃含量对高阻绝缘层膨胀系数的影响。
图1可以看出,玻璃含量为65%以上时,玻璃含量越高,高阻绝缘层的膨胀系数越大,与电阻瓷体膨胀系数相差也越大。因此若是玻璃含量越多,高阻绝缘层的膨胀系数就会比电阻瓷体的大很多,高阻绝缘层的机械强度也会受到影响。随着玻璃高阻绝缘层中玻璃含量的减少,莫来石含量的增加,高阻绝缘层的膨胀系数下降。当高阻绝缘层中玻璃含量为55%~65%时,其膨胀系数与电阻瓷体最为接近,此时二者的匹配性最佳。
图2为电阻瓷体边缘和高阻绝缘层结合处的微观形貌图。从图2可以看出,经过高温烧结后,高阻绝缘层和线性电阻瓷体之间形成紧密的附着,具有很高的结合强度。
碳-陶瓷线性电阻在冲击电压下和通流过程中都会在内部产生热量,如果热量不能及时排出就可能会导致电热应力的破坏,因此碳-陶瓷线性电阻侧表面涂覆的高阻绝缘层就需要有一定的气孔率与外界进行热量交换。此外,高阻绝缘层的气孔也有利于绝缘气体的进入而提高自身的电气绝缘强度。
为研究玻璃含量对高阻绝缘层气孔率的影响规律,将具有不同玻璃含量的高阻绝缘层压制成柱状并烧结成型,测量其气孔率和吸水率,结果如图3所示。
图3可以看出,玻璃含量较少时,高阻绝缘层的气孔率和吸水率较高,随着玻璃含量的增加,高阻绝缘层的气孔率和吸水率快速下降,在玻璃含量大于65%时,高阻绝缘层的气孔率最终稳定在3%附近,吸水率也趋于稳定。
高阻绝缘层中玻璃含量对电阻电气强度的影响如图4所示。从图4可以看出,当玻璃含量在60%~80%时,随着玻璃含量的增加,电阻的电气强度增大趋势不明显,但均能获得较高的电气强度,约为2 kV/mm。当玻璃含量大于80%时,电阻的电气强度呈现下降趋势。
高阻绝缘层中玻璃含量的变化首先会影响高阻绝缘层与电阻的膨胀系数的匹配,过高的玻璃含量会导致高阻绝缘层的膨胀系数比电阻瓷体的大很多,从而使得高阻绝缘层无法提供更好的结合强度;其次,玻璃含量的增加也会导致高阻绝缘层气孔率下降,过于致密的结构会导致冲击电压实验中电阻内部产生的热量无法及时排出,最终导致击穿破坏。
高阻绝缘层涂覆厚度对碳-陶瓷线性电阻电气强度的影响如图5所示。从图5可以看出,随着高阻绝缘层涂覆厚度的增加,碳-陶瓷线性电阻的电气强度明显增大。当高阻线性层涂覆厚度在0.35 mm时,电气强度达到最大,继续增加高阻线性层的涂覆厚度,对电阻的电气强度影响不大。
实验结果表明,高阻绝缘层的涂覆厚度不宜太薄,也不宜太厚。若是高阻绝缘层涂覆厚度太薄,绝缘强度不够,电阻侧表面的缺陷也不能得到很好的填补,影响电阻边缘的电气强度;若是高阻绝缘层涂覆厚度太厚,则极有可能在烧结后就出现高阻层外层剥落的情况。
碳-陶瓷线性电阻实际应用的过程中,在电极边缘存在电场集中,因此边缘部分是电阻极其薄弱的部分,这增加了碳-陶瓷线性电阻在高场强下发生沿面闪络的可能性。本研究采用1.2/50 μs的冲击电压波研究高阻绝缘层对电阻冲击电压耐受的能力。电阻试样在密闭容器中测试,先抽真空,再通过通气口缓慢地向夹具内填充SF6绝缘气体,等达到预定的气压值后对碳-陶瓷线性电阻进行冲击电压实验。SF6气体压力对电阻沿面闪络电压的影响如图6所示。
图6可以看出,对于未涂覆的线性电阻,主要的破坏形式为沿面闪络。在空气环境中,电阻在很低的电压等级下会发生沿面闪络,但使用SF6气体代替空气,电阻的闪络电压有了明显的提高。对于涂覆高阻绝缘层的电阻,沿面闪络电压大幅提高,在SF6气体环境中,涂覆有高阻绝缘层的电阻基本上再没有出现沿面闪络的情况;在0.2 MPa的SF6气体环境中,电阻耐受的闪络电压达到了22.5 kV,比未涂覆高阻绝缘层的电阻提高了80%,比空气环境(11.4 kV)下整体提高了约1倍。由于烧结过程中高阻绝缘层能够起到弥补电阻表面缺陷、提升电阻边缘强度的作用,因而涂覆了高阻绝缘层之后,电阻的耐冲击电压性能有了明显提高。
(1)玻璃含量在60%~80%内高阻绝缘层均能获得高的电气强度,约为2 kV/mm,玻璃含量高于80%时,由于膨胀系数过大、气孔增多,电气强度大幅下降。
(2)当高阻绝缘层涂覆厚度控制在0.35 mm时,电阻获得最大的电气强度。
(3)在SF6气体环境中,无论是否有高阻绝缘层,电阻电气强度均大于其在空气环境下的电气强度;当SF6气体压强为0.2 MPa时,有高阻绝缘层保护的电阻耐受的闪络电压达到了22.5 kV,比缺乏保护的电阻提高了80%,比空气环境下整体提高了约1倍。
