In order to investigate the influences of dead time in power electronic pulse width modulation (PWM) algorithm on the properties of insulation for inverter-fed motor, we built a repetitive pulse generator with 2-10 μs of dead time using full-bridge solid-state switch and high speed and real time control technique. Under the bipolar repetitive pulse voltage with 4 kV of peak to peak voltage and 5 kHz of frequency, the effect of repetitive square wave voltage dead time on the partial discharge (PD) statistical characteristics and corona-resistant lifetime of inverter-fed motor insulation were investigated through turn to turn insulation tests and ultra-high frequency test. The results show that the increase of dead time may significantly increase the attenuation effect of surface discharge at the rising edge and falling edge of repetitive square wave, weakens the inhibition of surface charge reverse electric field on discharge in discharge process. The number of discharge increases, and the electrical ageing of insulation accelerates, which leads to the decrease of corona-resistant lifetime of turn to turn insulation for inverter-fed motor. It is concluded that when adding dead time to protect the power device in designing power electric system, we should pay attention to the effect of dead time on the accelerated ageing of insulation system in inverter-fed motor, increase the insulation margin properly.

为研究电力电子脉宽调制(PWM)算法中死区时间对变频电机绝缘性能的影响,首先利用全桥固态开关和高速实时控制技术,搭建了死区时间在2~10 μs可调的重复脉冲发生器。在峰峰电压为4 kV、频率为 5 kHz双极性重复脉冲电压下,借助特高频测试方法,通过变频电机匝间绝缘试验,研究了重复方波电压死区时间对变频电机绝缘放电统计特征和耐电晕寿命的影响规律。结果表明:增加死区时间可以显著增大重复脉冲方波上升沿和下降沿处的表面电荷衰减效应,减弱了放电过程中表面电荷反向电场对放电过程的抑制作用,从而增加了放电数量,加速绝缘电老化,使变频电机匝间绝缘的耐电晕寿命显著降低。对此,在设计电力电子系统,加入死区时间保护功率器件的同时,必须考虑死区时间对变频电机绝缘系统的加速老化作用,以适当提高绝缘裕度。

为研究电力电子脉宽调制(PWM)算法中死区时间对变频电机绝缘性能的影响,首先利用全桥固态开关和高速实时控制技术,搭建了死区时间在2~10 μs可调的重复脉冲发生器。在峰峰电压为4 kV、频率为 5 kHz双极性重复脉冲电压下,借助特高频测试方法,通过变频电机匝间绝缘试验,研究了重复方波电压死区时间对变频电机绝缘放电统计特征和耐电晕寿命的影响规律。结果表明:增加死区时间可以显著增大重复脉冲方波上升沿和下降沿处的表面电荷衰减效应,减弱了放电过程中表面电荷反向电场对放电过程的抑制作用,从而增加了放电数量,加速绝缘电老化,使变频电机匝间绝缘的耐电晕寿命显著降低。对此,在设计电力电子系统,加入死区时间保护功率器件的同时,必须考虑死区时间对变频电机绝缘系统的加速老化作用,以适当提高绝缘裕度。

In order to investigate the influences of dead time in power electronic pulse width modulation (PWM) algorithm on the properties of insulation for inverter-fed motor, we built a repetitive pulse generator with 2-10 μs of dead time using full-bridge solid-state switch and high speed and real time control technique. Under the bipolar repetitive pulse voltage with 4 kV of peak to peak voltage and 5 kHz of frequency, the effect of repetitive square wave voltage dead time on the partial discharge (PD) statistical characteristics and corona-resistant lifetime of inverter-fed motor insulation were investigated through turn to turn insulation tests and ultra-high frequency test. The results show that the increase of dead time may significantly increase the attenuation effect of surface discharge at the rising edge and falling edge of repetitive square wave, weakens the inhibition of surface charge reverse electric field on discharge in discharge process. The number of discharge increases, and the electrical ageing of insulation accelerates, which leads to the decrease of corona-resistant lifetime of turn to turn insulation for inverter-fed motor. It is concluded that when adding dead time to protect the power device in designing power electric system, we should pay attention to the effect of dead time on the accelerated ageing of insulation system in inverter-fed motor, increase the insulation margin properly.

变频电机具有易启动、调速性能优异、节能高效等优点,已被广泛应用于高速铁路、电动汽车和舰船驱动等关系国计民生的领域。不同于传统工作在正弦或直流电压下的电机,逆变器产生的脉宽调制(pulse width modulation,PWM)电压使电机定子端部承受与PWM开断频率相同的高频重复方波脉冲。由于逆变器、电机和连接电缆之间的阻抗不匹配,电机定子端部易产生过电压。受到定子分布参数影响,此过电压在电机绕组内部分布不均匀,绝缘系统局部会承受高频电应力,当此应力超过局部放电起始放电电压(partial discharge inception voltage,PDIV)时,局部放电发生概率提高,会加速电机绝缘老化,最终导致电机绝缘早期失效1-2
为解决变频电机绝缘早期失效问题,国际电工委员会(IEC)针对I型低压散绕电机和II型高压成型电机绝缘系统,分别提出了检测标准IEC 60034-18-41:2006和IEC 60034-18-42:2008,指出在绝缘系统型式试验和电机投入运行前,应在重复脉冲和正弦电压下对两类电机分别进行PDIV和耐电晕寿命测试,以评估变频电机的绝缘性能3-4
传统正弦和直流电压参数较为单一,在对电机绝缘系统进行加速电老化时,电压参数对寿命统计特性影响相对明确。然而,在模拟变频电机PWM电应力下,采用高频重复脉冲对绝缘系统进行加速电老化时,重复脉冲电压参数(如上升时间、下降时间、占空比、极性、频率等)对绝缘性能评定影响较为复杂。研究表明,如不考虑上升时间处的过电压,当上升时间小于1 000 ns时,dv/dt越大,上升沿处等待初始电子延迟时产生的过电压越严重,放电越剧烈,从而导致绝缘耐电晕寿命显著降低5。除了上升时间,下降时间对绝缘耐电晕寿命的影响也很显著6-7。重复脉冲频率对耐电晕寿命的影响可能在一定频率点形成拐点8,这可能是由于放电过程中表面温度、表面电荷积累特性等因素导致的9-11。受到空间电荷的影响,电压极性对绝大多数绝缘结构的耐电晕寿命影响不明显,在其他参数不变时,重复脉冲电压下绝缘寿命主要取决于重复脉冲电压峰峰值12-13。由以上研究可知,当采用重复脉冲模拟PWM产生的电应力时,脉冲参数对绝缘寿命的影响显著,而大部分机理可以通过电老化过程中脉冲参数对放电统计特性和空间电荷分布的影响等进行解释5
利用电力电子器件产生PWM电压时,死区时间是控制功率器件开断的重要参数。在死区时间内,电力电子系统输出波形中断(如图1所示),即死区处的电压为0。在绝缘栅双极型晶体管(insulated gate bipolar transistor,IGBT)、电力场效应晶体管(metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor,MOSFET)等开关器件组成的H桥或三相桥中,死区时间的存在避免了上、下桥臂同时导通而烧坏功率器件14。可见,死区时间的存在对构建可靠、稳定的电力电子系统至关重要。一般说来,PWM参数对绝缘性能具有显著影响,然而,至今为止,重复脉冲电压下加入死区时间后对变频电机绝缘寿命的影响鲜有报道,这可能会造成以下问题:①当设计工作在高频脉冲电压下的绝缘系统(如变频电机绝缘、IGBT绝缘封装)时,在利用死区保护电力电子器件的同时,死区时间对绝缘系统的安全性影响未知;②对于死区时间一定的电力电子系统,无法根据死区时间定性或定量评估绝缘寿命。
针对以上问题,本研究首先采用全桥高压固态开关和高速实时控制硬件,搭建死区时间任意可调的重复脉冲电压发生平台,产生双极性峰峰值电压为4 kV、频率为5 kHz的重复脉冲电压。利用此平台,结合特高频检测方法,通过对变频电机匝间绝缘进行大量试验,研究重复方波电压死区时间对变频电机绝缘放电统计特征和耐电晕寿命的影响规律。该研究结果有望为重复方波电压下变频电机绝缘型式试验、寿命预测及电力电子和绝缘系统可靠性评估提供理论和试验依据。
死区时间可调的重复方波脉冲电源如图2所示,包含正极性高压直流电源、储能电容C1、放电电阻R1、限流电阻R2和R3,推挽式半导体固态开关(MOSFET),现场可编程逻辑门阵列(field programmable gate array,FPGA)。采用10 kV直流电源供电,同时用容量为1 μF的电容储能以提供短时间内大幅值充电电流。放电电阻用于系统断电后储能电容的快速放电,以保护人身安全。限流电阻用于控制试样的充电电流从而改变重复方波电压的上升和下降时间。两个具有推挽模式的高压固态开关正、负输入端相连,组成全桥结构,测试试样连接至固态开关输出端。通过FPGA的数模转换(digital to analog,DA)产生两路晶体管-晶体管逻辑电平(transistor transistor logic,TTL)触发信号,用于控制固态开关开断,从而触发产生带死区时间的双极性重复脉冲电压。重复脉冲电源的实物如图3所示。
FPGA生成的两路TTL信号如图4所示,假设TTL1信号输送给图2中的左半桥开关,TTL2信号输送给右半桥开关。当TTL1信号为高电平时,S1闭合,S2断开;TTL1为低电平时,S1断开,S2闭合。右半桥臂的S3和S4同理。
图4中的t0t1时刻,电路如图5(a)所示,S1和S4断开,S2和S3闭合,试样左端接地,右端接高压,在试样两端形成反向电势差。在t1t2时刻,电路如图5(b)所示,S2和S4断开,S1和S3闭合,试样两端都接高压,左端充电完成后,试样两端等电位,电势差为零,即产生死区。在t2t3时刻,电路如图5(c)所示,S2和S3断开,S1和S4闭合,试样左端接高压,右端接地,右端对地放电以后,形成正向电势差。在t3t4时刻,电路如图5(d)所示,S1和S3断开,S2和S4闭合,试样两端都接地,当左端放电结束后,两端等电位,电势差再次为零,产生第二个死区。t4时刻后又开始一个新的周期,从而产生了带有死区时间的重复方波电压。
重复脉冲电压耐电晕测试系统由重复脉冲电源、差分探头、特高频天线、高通滤波器、恒温控制箱、示波器以及FPGA等组成,如图6所示。
差分探头将试样两端采集到的脉冲电压信号传输至示波器(最高采样率为20 GSa/s,带宽为2.5 GHz)作为触发信号,并且与局部放电同步显示。恒温控制箱用于放置电极和试样,提供40℃的恒温环境。为提升放电测试信噪比,采用特制阿基米德平面螺旋天线检测脉冲电压下的放电信号,天线输出经高通滤波器滤除低频干扰后输入示波器。FPGA用于控制半导体开关,短路保护时快速断开系统并记录耐电晕寿命。单次测试至少采集500个周期放电和电压相位同步数据,测试结果存储至数据库,以便于后期统计分析处理。
测试试样为变频电机匝间绝缘漆包线,线径为1.5 mm,覆盖绝缘漆厚度为35 μm。采用纯度为96%的无水乙醇擦拭绝缘表面以清除试样表面灰尘和油污,并在40℃的恒温箱中静置1 h。将两根漆包线中心交叉60°,放置在试样支架上,形成单点接触放电点。去掉试样两端绝缘并分别连接至高压固态开关输出端,如图7所示。
将特高频天线放置在恒温控制箱的玻璃门外,和试样距离保持15 cm。重复脉冲电压中干扰信号的能量主要集中在500 MHz以下15,而放电信号的能量主要集中在500 MHz~2 GHz,故采用高通滤波器滤除500 MHz以下的低频段电磁干扰。通过特高频天线采集到的放电信号如图8所示,灰色波形代表重复脉冲电压,7~17 μs区间即为死区时间,红色脉冲代表局部放电信号,可见,在死区时间前后均有局部放电发生。
本研究中采用双极性峰峰值为4 kV、频率为5 kHz、占空比为50%的重复脉冲电压,分别在0、2、5、10 μs死区时间下进行耐电晕寿命测试试验。无死区时间时,脉冲电压的上升时间和下降时间均为600 ns。为得到准确的放电统计特性和寿命评估结果,每个死区条件下至少测试5个试样,寿命评估结果采用箱线统计图分析。
从采集的数据中取1 000个数据点,经处理后不同死区时间下的局部放电相位分布图(phase resolved partial discharge pattern,PRPDP)如图9所示。从图9(a)可以看出,在无死区时间的脉冲电压下,放电都集中在脉冲电压的上升沿和下降沿处,且发生在电压极性反转后。由图9(b)(d)可知,加入死区时间后,放电在死区前后的脉冲电压上升沿、下降沿处均有发生,在死区前后都呈现纵簇分布形态,死区前的放电主要发生在电压极性反转后的过电压处。死区前的局部放电幅值为50~2 000 mV,且存在大量幅值高于1 500 mV的放电点。而死区后的放电幅值主要集中在50~1 500 mV,仅有少量放电幅值超过了1 500 mV,死区前的放电强度明显大于死区后的放电强度。
为分析放电趋势,抽取1 000个数据进行放电统计,结果如图10所示。将死区前的上升沿定义为第一个上升沿,死区后的上升沿定义为第二个上升沿,下降沿以此类推。由图10可知,在无死区时间的脉冲电压下,脉冲电压上升沿和下降沿的局部放电数量相近,分布较为均匀。在加入死区时间后,2、5、10 μs死区时间下的第一个上升沿和第一个下降沿的放电数量和无死区时间的分布相似。但随着死区时间的增加,死区后的第二个上升沿和下降沿出现了一定数量的放电。可以推断,随着死区时间的增加,放电总数逐渐增多,势必加剧绝缘电老化。
不同死区时间下试样的耐电晕寿命如图11所示。
图11可见,在无死区时间的脉冲电压下,试样耐电晕寿命的平均值最大,约为90 min。而在脉冲电压加入死区时间后,试样的耐电晕寿命显著缩短,与无死区时的寿命平均值相比下降超过了30%。2、5、10 μs死区时间下的试样寿命平均值分别约为61、55、54 min,三者差距不大,寿命分布范围相对较小。由此可以得出,脉冲电压下加入死区时间后可显著加速变频电机绝缘的电老化。
用高精度显微镜观测漆包线在不同死区时间脉冲电压下击穿后的绝缘表面,结果如图12所示。从图12可以看出,在无死区的脉冲电压下,漆包线的腐蚀面积较小,腐蚀部分的外围表面有明显深褐色碳化痕迹;在有死区时间的脉冲电压下,漆包线的腐蚀面积增大,深褐色的碳化痕迹较少。表明脉冲电压加入死区时间后,漆包线的绝缘表面受到了相对严重的电老化腐蚀。
与正弦和直流电压相似,在重复脉冲电压下,产生流注放电仍需满足以下条件:①气隙内的电场强度超过局部放电起始放电场强(PDIE);②出现激发电子崩的初始电子16-19
一次放电发生后,表面电荷极性反转,减弱了气隙内合成场强20-22,难以在上升沿或下降沿处再次发生放电,通常要等到下一个上升沿或下降沿到来时,外加电场极性反转,合成电场大于PDIE,此时放电发生。因此,在无死区时间的脉冲电压下,放电通常出现在脉冲的上升沿和下降沿处51223
死区时间下脉冲电压的气隙放电模型和放电过程中电场变化分别如图1314所示。其中,E0为外加电场,Eq为表面电荷形成电场,E为外加电场与表面电荷合成电场。放电过程描述如下:
一次放电结束后,如图13(a)图14中的①所示,气隙表面积累电荷场强Eq与外加场强E0极性相反,消弱了气隙内合成场强,此时放电熄灭。
在死区前第一个上升沿到来时,如图13(b)所示,虽然外加电场消失,但此处存在过电压,定义此时过电压产生的场强为E0'。由于纳秒时间内表面电荷来不及变化,其场强Eq与外加场强E0极性相同,合成电场强度增大,当场强大于起始放电场强并产生初始电子后,再次发生放电,对应于图14中阶段②~③的变化。
图13(c)表示在发生放电后,表面电荷极性反转,电场Eq与外加场强E0极性相反,合成电场减弱,放电熄灭,对应于图14中的阶段③。
图13(d)表示过电压衰减到0以后,外加电场消失,表面电荷不再受到外加电场力束缚,由于表面电导作用,电荷会有部分扩散;另外部分电荷由于入陷作用可能进入深陷阱19,表面电荷场强Eq逐渐减弱,合成场强E将小于PDIE,不易再次出现放电,对应于图14中的阶段④。
图13(e)表示在死区后的第二个上升沿到来时,外加场强E0快速增加。虽然此电场与表面电荷产生场强Eq极性相反,但电荷经历阶段④的衰减后,Eq减小。由于外部电场的影响,合成场强可能会大于起始放电场强,随着初始电子产生再次发生放电,对应于图14中的阶段⑤。图13(f)表示放电结束后,表面电荷增加,Eq增大,使得合成场强小于PDIE,放电熄灭,对应于图14中的阶段⑥。
在下降沿死区时间前后,放电过程与上升时间相似。由此推论,含有死区时间的一个方波周期可产生4次放电,实际采集到的放电如图15所示。
图9可知,增加死区时间后,在第一个、第二个上升沿和下降沿处分别产生了一次放电,这是导致图10中放电数量随死区时间增加而增多的根本原因。增加死区时间后,对应图13(d)中阶段④的时间增加。虽然在阶段②的放电(第一个上升时间)已经导致阶段③形成反向电场,但增加死区时间后,阶段④的增加会给上次放电形成的表面电荷形成衰减时间,因此必然减弱Eq,在阶段⑤第二个上升时间处,外部电压的增加会使气隙中的合成电场再次达到PDIE,当有初始电子出现时,形成第二个上升时间处的放电。因此可以推断,死区时间的增加会增大第二个上升沿和下降沿处的放电概率,这也是图10中一个周期内放电总数随死区时间增加而增加的原因。
耐电晕寿命直接和一定幅值的局部放电数量相关,当放电能量超过有机物化学键的结合能时,可能会打断有机物的化学键,从而加速电老化,直至最终击穿。这就解释了图11中耐电晕寿命随死区时间的增加而缩短的现象。
当加入死区时间后,放电过程显著改变。以10 μs死区时间下的放电过程为例,采集加压开始时刻T1、约20%绝缘寿命时刻T2、约60%绝缘寿命时刻T3、约90%绝缘寿命时刻T4四个不同老化阶段的放电脉冲加以分析。图16为不同老化阶段放电统计谱图,图17为不同老化阶段死区时间前后放电幅值统计特性,图18为不同老化阶段死区前后放电数量变化。
图1618可见:①在0~T1阶段,放电主要集中在死区后的上升沿和下降沿处,且放电幅值较大;而在死区前的上升沿和下降沿处,放电数量少,且幅值较小;②在T2~T3阶段,放电在死区前后的上升沿及下降沿处交替发生,死区前的放电强度和数量均增加,死区后的放电强度和数量均减小;③在T3~T4阶段,多数放电集中发生在死区前,且死区前放电强度较大,死区后的放电强度和数量继续减小;④在T4~击穿阶段,放电规律延续T3~T4变化,直至试样击穿。
图1618可以看出,电老化过程对放电分布的影响显著。老化初期,大部分幅值较大的放电出现在第二个上升沿和下降沿处,随着老化时间增加,幅值较大的放电逐渐由第二个上升沿和下降沿向第一个上升沿和下降沿移动。在放电初期,绝缘材料表面不易积累表面电荷,而随着老化的不断进行,表面电荷逐步在放电局部区域积累。表面电荷对放电影响可通过两个方面考虑:①表面电荷积累增多时,外部电场发生反转瞬间,更易于超过PDIE,从而达到流注放电需要满足的第一个条件;②表面电荷积累增多时,有益于初始电子产生。初始电子产生率λ可根据Schottky-Richardson模型估算[20],如式(1)所示。

式(1)中:v0为光电离常数;ψ为脱陷功函数,表示电子产生所需能量;qe为单位电荷;εo为真空中的介电常数;k为波尔兹曼常数;T为温度;Nt代表t时刻局部放电处介质表面可电离或发射的电子数,主要来自前期局部放电产生的空间电荷;E为局部放电处的合成场强。可见,表面电荷越多,合成场强越大,更易产生初始电子。
老化初期,表面电荷积累较少,在图14阶段①中,上次放电残余的表面电荷场强衰减较大。在阶段②极性反转时,表面电荷电场与外加电场叠加作用有限,且根据Schottky-Richardson模型不易产生初始电子,因此放电不易在第一个上升沿和下降沿处发生。随着第二个上升沿和下降沿的到来,外部电场增大,与表面电荷电场叠加后具有更高的放电概率,因此大部分大幅值放电都集中在第二个上升沿和下降沿处,如图16(a)所示。
对于理想气隙,一次放电发生后,气隙中场强几乎衰减到0。一般来讲,放电前后气隙合成场强的变化直接决定了放电幅值的大小17-19,如式(2)所示。

式(2)中:Ka/b)是气隙的形状参数;εr是相对介电常数;Eit)是气隙间内外电场的合成场强。可见,放电前合成电场越大,放电幅值越大。可以推断,老化初期,在极性反转瞬间,等待初始电子产生过程相对较长,放电延迟会促使放电发生瞬间场强远超PDIE,因此形成幅值较大的放电,如图16(a)所示。
随着老化时间增加,在绝缘表面附着物的作用下,表面电荷积累较多。在图14中阶段①发展为阶段②时,表面电荷尚有一定残留。当阶段②外电场极性反转时,表面电荷电场与外电场叠加效应明显,合成场强更易大于PDIE,并且积累的表面电荷更利于初始放电产生,因此放电延迟较小,大部分放电发生在第一个上升沿和下降沿处,如图16(c)和16(d)所示。
利用全桥固态开关和高速实时控制技术,搭建了死区时间在2~10 μs可调的重复脉冲发生器。在峰峰电压为4 kV、频率为5 kHz双极性重复脉冲电压下,研究了死区时间对变频电机匝间绝缘局部放电及耐电晕寿命统计特性的影响规律,得到以下结论:
(1)死区时间的加入会增强高频方波电压下表面电荷的衰减效应,使得单个方波电压周期内的放电数量增加,从而缩短变频电机匝间绝缘的耐电晕寿命。
(2)死区加入后,变频电机匝间绝缘电老化不同阶段的放电特性变化显著,在表面电荷积累和初始电子产生概率的影响下,放电由第二个上升沿和下降沿逐渐向第一个上升沿和下降沿移动。
(3)在设计电力电子系统时,加入死区时间保护功率器件的同时,必须考虑死区时间对变频电机绝缘系统的加速老化作用,适当提高绝缘裕度。
