In order to clarify the interaction of electrical stress, thermal stress and mechanical stress on the insulating properties of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), we prepared EPDM samples and measured the polarization current of the sample at temperatures of 30‒120℃, pressures of 0‒1.0 MPa, and electric field strengths of 1‒25 kV/mm, respectively. For further evaluating the insulation performance of EPDM, the absorption ratio (K) was introduced. Based on the steady-state electrical conduction currents in the polarization currents, the quasi-steady-state electrical conduction current densities and conductivities of the sample were calculated. The results show that the insulation performance of EPDM is negatively correlated with temperature and electric field strength. In the low-field-strength area, the electrical conductivity of the sample conforms to the ohmic conductivity characteristics; in the high-field-strength area, conductivity conforms to the space charge limited current mechanism. By calculating the carrier mobility of EPDM, it is found that the carrier mobility decreases at first and then increases with the increase of pressure, which leads to the change of the insulation performance of EPDM.

为了明确电应力、热应力和机械应力共同作用对乙丙橡胶绝缘性能的影响,本研究制备了乙丙橡胶(EPDM)绝缘试样,分别测试了温度为30~120℃、挤压力为0~1.0 MPa和场强为1~25 kV/mm时乙丙橡胶的极化电流。为了评估乙丙橡胶的绝缘性能,引入吸收比K。通过极化电流中的稳态电导电流,计算得到试样的准稳态电导电流密度和电导率。结果表明:乙丙橡胶的绝缘性能与温度和电场强度呈负相关,其中在低场强区,试样的电导特性符合欧姆电导特性,在高场强区符合空间电荷限制电流机制。通过计算得出乙丙橡胶的载流子迁移率,分析发现载流子迁移率随着挤压力的升高先减小后增大,最终导致乙丙橡胶的绝缘性能发生变化。

为了明确电应力、热应力和机械应力共同作用对乙丙橡胶绝缘性能的影响,本研究制备了乙丙橡胶(EPDM)绝缘试样,分别测试了温度为30~120℃、挤压力为0~1.0 MPa和场强为1~25 kV/mm时乙丙橡胶的极化电流。为了评估乙丙橡胶的绝缘性能,引入吸收比K。通过极化电流中的稳态电导电流,计算得到试样的准稳态电导电流密度和电导率。结果表明:乙丙橡胶的绝缘性能与温度和电场强度呈负相关,其中在低场强区,试样的电导特性符合欧姆电导特性,在高场强区符合空间电荷限制电流机制。通过计算得出乙丙橡胶的载流子迁移率,分析发现载流子迁移率随着挤压力的升高先减小后增大,最终导致乙丙橡胶的绝缘性能发生变化。

In order to clarify the interaction of electrical stress, thermal stress and mechanical stress on the insulating properties of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), we prepared EPDM samples and measured the polarization current of the sample at temperatures of 30‒120℃, pressures of 0‒1.0 MPa, and electric field strengths of 1‒25 kV/mm, respectively. For further evaluating the insulation performance of EPDM, the absorption ratio (K) was introduced. Based on the steady-state electrical conduction currents in the polarization currents, the quasi-steady-state electrical conduction current densities and conductivities of the sample were calculated. The results show that the insulation performance of EPDM is negatively correlated with temperature and electric field strength. In the low-field-strength area, the electrical conductivity of the sample conforms to the ohmic conductivity characteristics; in the high-field-strength area, conductivity conforms to the space charge limited current mechanism. By calculating the carrier mobility of EPDM, it is found that the carrier mobility decreases at first and then increases with the increase of pressure, which leads to the change of the insulation performance of EPDM.

乙丙橡胶(EPDM)是以乙烯和丙烯为主要单体合成的共聚物,其具有优异的电绝缘性能和耐电晕性,同时具有优良的耐老化性能、耐腐蚀性能以及良好的弹性,作为绝缘材料广泛应用于煤矿、石油、船舶等领域的供电电缆中[1]。然而,在煤矿井下使用的EPDM电缆运行环境恶劣,特别是综采工作面采煤机用EPDM拖拽电缆绝缘,不仅要承受采煤机频繁变换负荷启停形成的高电流发热老化的影响,还因电缆随采煤机往复行走而承受各种拉拽或挤压力和热应力的作用,致使电缆绝缘使用寿命大幅缩短,导致电缆故障频发[2]。因此,研究力、热、电多因子作用下EPDM电缆的绝缘性能变化规律,对于掌握EPDM拖拽电缆绝缘的故障机理或性能评价方法具有重要意义。
林晨等[3]通过测量极化/去极化电流,利用等温松弛法和扩展德拜模型提取了老化因子和低频介质损耗因数,从时域和频域两个角度评估了不同老化时间的EPDM电缆绝缘的老化状态。赵瑞雪等[4]通过测量不同SiO2添加量的EPDM的稳态电导电流,结合空间电荷限制电流机制,分析了EPDM的电导机制随场强的变化规律。刘英等[5]以电缆中间接头用EPDM为研究对象,对交联聚乙烯-三元乙丙橡胶电缆界面的绝缘试样施加不同的拉伸应力和电应力,对试样进行电性能及力学性能测试,发现电应力会造成电缆绝缘表面部分基团被破坏并氧化,拉伸应力能够促进这一变化过程。门汝佳等[6]通过对EPDM绝缘试样进行电热老化试验,测取其极化电流,利用三阶衰减指数函数对电流曲线进行拟合,通过拟合得出的特征参数计算了老化指数,并分析了老化指数与试样绝缘状况之间的关系。DAI C等[7]采用脉冲电声法,给未老化和在150℃下老化18 h的EPDM电缆施加不同的交流电场,发现当场强超过阈值场强(5 kV/mm)时,未老化和老化18 h的试样均明显出现空间电荷,试样的绝缘性能变差。综上可知,极化-去极化电流(PDC)法已被广泛地运用于EPDM绝缘性能的评估。但现有的研究成果主要集中在EPDM的老化或者除电应力外单一应力作用对EPDM绝缘性能的影响[3-11]。而对于EPDM在运行过程中可能会遇到的多应力作用,特别是挤压力和热应力同时施加后绝缘性能变化的研究较少。
为了进一步明确挤压力和热应力作用下EPDM的电导性能,本研究测量在电、热、挤压力同时作用下EPDM绝缘的极化电流,分析极化电流曲线及其典型特征量随温度、电场强度和挤压力的变化规律,通过分段线性拟合的方法分析电导现象;根据普尔效应深度理解挤压力和热应力对EPDM绝缘性能的影响,为多应力作用下电缆用EPDM绝缘失效的可能性评估提供参考。
根据GB/T 7594.8—1987《电线电缆橡皮绝缘和橡皮护套 第8部分:90℃橡皮绝缘》,使用经过密炼和滤橡的DCJ30M型乙丙橡胶胶片制作试样[13]。制样时先将模具放在平板硫化机上预热至120℃,然后将未被硫化的胶片置于模具上预热1 min,再将试样在压力为10 MPa、温度为160℃下热压硫化15 min。完成后,取出试样,放入温度为80℃的真空干燥箱静置48 h,消除硫化产生的副产物和机械应力。制备完成的试样厚度为0.6~0.7 mm。
极化电流测试电路如图1所示。为了消除表面泄漏电流和电场不均匀带来的影响,试验采用三电极系统进行测试。电流表选择KESIGHT B2981A,与上位机相连,实时读取电流数据。在测量开始前,首先需要对试样两端进行短接放电,避免在试样上残留的剩余电荷对试验结果造成影响。试验开始时,首先闭合K1和K3,5 s后断开K3,开始进行极化电流的测量,测试时间为600 s。测试完毕之后,为了消除剩余电荷对下次测量的影响,需要断开K1,闭合K2和K3,对试样进行放电,放电时间至少为30 min。测量极化电流时温度分别设置为30、60、90、120℃,挤压力分别设置为0、0.2、0.4、0.6、0.8、1.0 MPa,电场强度为1~25 kV/mm。每一条件下的极化电流至少使用3个试样进行测量,然后对测试结果进行拟合。
根据测量结果,EPDM的极化电流用三支路扩展德拜模型进行拟合,如式(1)所示。

式(1)中:Ip为随时间t变化的极化电流;I0是稳态时的泄漏电流;A1exp(-t/τ1)表示绝缘的体极化;A2exp (-t/τ2)表示晶体与非晶体的界面极化;A3exp(-t/τ3)表示离子与基团的界面极化[14]
图2为EPDM在90℃下未施加挤压力时的极化电流曲线,图2中实线为使用三支路扩展德拜模型拟合得到的曲线。从图2中可以看出,随着场强的增大,极化电流整体呈上升趋势。这是因为一方面根据泄漏电流公式(I=U/R)可知,场强增大,流经试样的电导电流随之增大;另一方面由于场强增大,电子电导逐渐开始起作用,试样的导电能力上升,极化电流随之增大。同时,试样内部微小的孔洞和缝隙等缺陷可能也会随着场强的增大而发生局部放电,造成试样的极化电流增大。
为了完整反映EPDM极化电流的吸收过程,并找出其在挤压力和热应力下的变化趋势,引入吸收比K,其表达式如式(2)所示。

式(2)中,I15I60分别为施加直流电压后,15 s时流过试样的电流和60 s时流过试样的电流。
对于电缆绝缘等大部分绝缘材料来说,一般认为吸收比越大,流过EPDM的电流衰减速度越快,吸收特性更好,其绝缘状况越好[15]
图3分别为10 kV/mm和20 kV/mm场强作用下,EPDM绝缘试样的吸收比随挤压力和温度变化的趋势图。由图3可知,随温度的升高,EPDM的吸收比减小。这是因为温度升高,分子热运动加剧,带电粒子更容易摆脱周围分子的束缚而产生位移,试样的导电性能上升,绝缘性能下降,吸收比减小。
图3还可以看出,随挤压力的增大,吸收比整体呈现先减小后增大再减小的趋势。这是因为EPDM绝缘材料内部不可避免地存在一定量的微孔,在挤压力作用下,这些微孔会发生形变,分子间的吸引作用更加稳定,分子排列更加紧凑,载流子注入和迁移更加困难;挤压力的作用也会使得陷阱排列更加均匀,使得载流子越过势垒更加困难。超过了挤压力造成绝缘劣化对绝缘性能的影响,绝缘性能变好,吸收比增大。但挤压力过大时,会造成绝缘劣化,其对绝缘性能的影响开始起主要作用,吸收比开始减小,绝缘性能变差。
此外,当场强增大,吸收比的减小速度变快,与极化电流的分析一致。这是因为随着场强增大到某一程度,电子电导开始起主要作用,试样的电导性能随场强的增大而增大,试样的吸收比减小,绝缘性能下降。同时,由于场强增大,绝缘体内部的微小气隙等缺陷可能也会随着场强的增大而发生局部放电[16]。这些都会影响EPDM的绝缘性能,使其吸收比的减小速度变快。
根据测得的极化电流值,选取测量终期的电流值作为接近稳态时的电流值I,按式(3)计算得到10 kV/mm和20 kV/mm场强作用下的电导率γ随温度和挤压力的变化曲线,如图4所示。

式(3)中:E为外加场强;A1为试验所用测量电极面积;Js为稳态体电流密度。
图4中可以看出,随着温度升高,EPDM的电导率明显增大,表明绝缘性能变差。随着挤压力的增大,EPDM的电导率呈现先减小后增大的规律。不同电场强度下EPDM的电导率随温度变化趋势基本一致。相同温度下,电场强度为20 kV/mm时EPDM的电导率大于10 kV/mm时EPDM的电导率。
根据上述的电流密度和电导率计算结果,绘制出90℃下的lgJS-lgE曲线并进行分段线性拟合,结果如图5所示。
图5可知,随着场强的增大,多应力作用下的EPDM绝缘试样接近稳态时的电流密度呈现出分段变化的趋势,其中低场强区的电流密度增长较慢,而高场强区的电流密度增长较快。低场强区lgJS-lgE曲线的拟合斜率为1左右,表明此时试样的电导特性符合欧姆电导机制。而当外加场强超过阈值场强(约为10 kV/mm)时,拟合曲线的斜率为2左右,说明此时试样的电导机制发生了变化,由欧姆电导机制转化为空间电荷限制电流机制(SCLC)[17]
在低场强时,试样的电导率γ是载流子的迁移率μf、载流子数目n和电子电荷量q的乘积,与E无关。根据欧姆定律,lgJS-lgE曲线的斜率为1。而在高场强时,根据SCLC,在lgJS-lgE非线性区域内没有陷阱时,空间电荷限制电流如式(4)所示。

式(4)中:εr是相对介电常数;ε0是真空介电常数;VΩ是阈值电压,在本研究中可以等效为阈值场强;d为试样厚度。
根据式(4),在lgJS-lgE非线性区内,lgJS-lgE的斜率应当为2[16-17]。出现这种现象有两方面原因,一是电压的升高能够降低介质与电极之间的势垒宽度,使得载流子从电极注入介质更加容易;二是电压升高,陷阱能够捕获更多的电子,使得载流子克服势垒迅速激发。根据图5,这一现象仅仅与试样外加的场强有关,场强较低时,试样符合欧姆电导机制,当场强升高到某一阈值,试样的电导机制转变为SCLC。随着外加的温度和挤压力的改变,试样仅仅是JS和阈值场强发生改变,不影响电导。阈值场强随温度和挤压力变化的曲线如图6所示。
图6可知,随着温度的升高,阈值场强大体上呈现减小的趋势,说明温度升高能够促进载流子的注入与迁移,载流子能够更容易地越过势垒参与电导活动,EPDM的电导机制更容易转变成SCLC。随着挤压力的增大,阈值场强大体上呈现先增大后减小的趋势,说明随着挤压力的增大,分子间距减小,载流子的注入和越过势垒变得困难,但挤压力过大,试样的绝缘状况发生劣化,促进了电导过程。
阈值场强(EΩ)与阈值电压(VΩ)的关系如式(5)所示。

根据式(4)式(5),在已知试样厚度、已测取试样阈值场强EΩ与阈值电流密度jΩ的情况下,可以推导出载流子迁移率(μf)的计算公式,如式(6)所示。

图7为不同温度和挤压力下的载流子迁移率曲线。从图7可以看出,随着温度升高,电极发射电子的能力明显增强,电极与介质间的势垒降低,载流子更容易克服原子核的吸引作用并且越过势垒,注入介质内部。同时温度升高,载流子发生电导活动的活化能降低,迁移率明显上升。而挤压力上升,则会先阻碍载流子的注入与迁移,当挤压力过高时,绝缘的劣化又会促进载流子的迁移过程。此结论与之前对吸收比、电导率以及阈值场强的分析基本一致。因此,相同温度下,随着挤压力升高,载流子迁移率先减小后增大。
(1)挤压力和热应力下EPDM的电导率与温度和电场强度呈正相关。随挤压力的增大,电导率先减小后增大,吸收比则与温度呈负相关。
(2)随着场强的增大,EPDM的电导机制发生转变,使准稳态电流密度曲线呈分段线性变化趋势,表现出非线性电导特性。而温度和挤压力并不影响电导机理,只改变电导机制过渡点的场强和电流密度。
(3)根据SCLC计算得到载流子迁移率,进一步明确了挤压力和热应力对EPDM绝缘性能的影响机理。
