It is found that ablative white spots are often attached to the buffer layer by disassembling high-voltage XLPE fault cables. To study the ablation characteristics of buffer layer, the chemical elements of white spot at different positions of buffer layer were analyzed by using energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), and the conductivity of the white spots buffer layer were measured. Then on the basis of the measurement results of conductivity, an electrothermal coupling simulation model of high voltage XLPE cable was established, and the heat production characteristics of white spot buffer layer under the action of high frequency overvoltage were calculated. The results show that the white spots in the ablative area of buffer layer are the water-blocking powder precipitated by the buffer layer, and the conductivity of the buffer layer decreases obviously after the white spots are precipitated. Under the action of high frequency overvoltage, the higher the overvoltage frequency, the greater the resistance heat generated in the local periphery of buffer layer white spot, and the higher the temperature rise, which may eventually cause overheating and erosion of the buffer layer.

对高压XLPE事故电缆进行拆卸后,发现其缓冲层上均附着有烧蚀白斑。为了研究缓冲层的烧蚀特性,采用能谱仪(EDS)对缓冲层不同位置白斑的化学元素进行分析,并测量白斑缓冲层的电导率,然后基于电导率测量结果,建立高压XLPE电缆电热耦合仿真模型,对高频过电压作用下白斑缓冲层的产热特性进行计算。结果表明:缓冲层烧蚀区域的白斑为其自身析出的阻水粉,析出白斑后缓冲层的电导率明显降低。在高频过电压作用下,过电压频率越高,在缓冲层白斑局部外围产生的电阻热越大,引起的温升越高,最终可能致使缓冲层过热而烧蚀。

对高压XLPE事故电缆进行拆卸后,发现其缓冲层上均附着有烧蚀白斑。为了研究缓冲层的烧蚀特性,采用能谱仪(EDS)对缓冲层不同位置白斑的化学元素进行分析,并测量白斑缓冲层的电导率,然后基于电导率测量结果,建立高压XLPE电缆电热耦合仿真模型,对高频过电压作用下白斑缓冲层的产热特性进行计算。结果表明:缓冲层烧蚀区域的白斑为其自身析出的阻水粉,析出白斑后缓冲层的电导率明显降低。在高频过电压作用下,过电压频率越高,在缓冲层白斑局部外围产生的电阻热越大,引起的温升越高,最终可能致使缓冲层过热而烧蚀。

It is found that ablative white spots are often attached to the buffer layer by disassembling high-voltage XLPE fault cables. To study the ablation characteristics of buffer layer, the chemical elements of white spot at different positions of buffer layer were analyzed by using energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), and the conductivity of the white spots buffer layer were measured. Then on the basis of the measurement results of conductivity, an electrothermal coupling simulation model of high voltage XLPE cable was established, and the heat production characteristics of white spot buffer layer under the action of high frequency overvoltage were calculated. The results show that the white spots in the ablative area of buffer layer are the water-blocking powder precipitated by the buffer layer, and the conductivity of the buffer layer decreases obviously after the white spots are precipitated. Under the action of high frequency overvoltage, the higher the overvoltage frequency, the greater the resistance heat generated in the local periphery of buffer layer white spot, and the higher the temperature rise, which may eventually cause overheating and erosion of the buffer layer.

缓冲层作为高压与超高压交联聚乙烯(crosslinked polyethylene,XLPE)电力电缆金属护套与外半导电层之间的重要介质,主要用于实现电缆纵向阻水、缓冲电缆弯曲和绝缘热膨胀时产生的机械应力[1]。近年来,国内多地发生了110 kV高压XLPE电缆击穿事故,经对事故电缆进行拆卸,发现缓冲层上均附着有白斑,且击穿位置的白斑量相对较多。白斑的存在会影响缓冲层的导电性能,进一步发展可能会破坏电缆主绝缘,造成电缆事故的发生进而危及电网的安全稳定运行。因此,有必要对缓冲层的烧蚀机理进行研究,从而为缓冲层的制造和电力电缆的安装敷设提供参考,提高电网安全运行的可靠性。
有关缓冲层的烧蚀机理,国内外学者已进行了大量研究。有研究认为由于缓冲层绕包带材和结构的不同,在不同压力、温度、水分及缺陷影响下,其体积电阻率会发生不同的变化[2-6],导致缓冲层有可能发生局部放电而烧蚀[7-10],但是这种机理并未考虑缓冲层体积电阻率发生变化时其电阻产热的影响。实际运行的电缆会在阻水缓冲层的两端产生电位差,由于缓冲层的生产工艺、结构参数等方面存在差异,国家及行业标准并未规定其与波纹铝护套之间的允许电位差限值及测试方法,但是,一旦存在电位差,缓冲层上就会流过电流,从而产生一定的电阻热。文献[11]对三相230 kV XLPE电缆的烧蚀缺陷进行分析,发现当金布中的铜丝数量较少或者铜丝直径小于缓冲层的厚度时,电缆会出现局部过热而发生烧蚀,但并没有具体说明电缆的局部产热过程。文献[12]对某110 kV XLPE电缆进行建模仿真,发现过电压是缓冲层烧蚀的诱因之一。文献[13]建立高压电缆缓冲层的等效数学模型,计算了1 kHz操作过电压对白斑缓冲层电阻产热的影响,结果表明1 kHz操作过电压能够引起缓冲层温度升高,但并没有讨论不同高频过电压对白斑缓冲层产热的影响。
本研究通过测试新缓冲层和故障电缆不同位置不同白斑量缓冲层的化学元素和电导率,分析白斑可能的产生过程,以及白斑对缓冲层电导率的影响。并通过建立电力电缆的电热偶合仿真模型,研究不同高频过电压下白斑缓冲层产生的电阻热,得到高压XLPE电缆缓冲层的热烧蚀过程及特性。
缓冲层作为高压XLPE电缆绝缘屏蔽层与波纹铝护套之间的重要组成部分,主要用于纵向阻水以及缓冲电缆弯曲和绝缘热膨胀时产生的机械应力。通常缓冲层由一层半导电无纺编织布、一层半导电蓬松棉,中间粘涂一层聚丙烯酸钠阻水粉组成[14],其结构如图1所示。阻水粉的主要化学成分为低交联型聚丙烯酸钠盐,其自身不具备导电性,但是会吸潮(或遇水)膨胀,并在一定时间内迅速膨胀到一定高度,阻止水分侵入绝缘层而起到阻水作用。
据了解,从2007年至今,110 kV及以上电压等级电缆的缓冲层发生了多起故障,这些故障电缆投运年限分散性大,且与导体截面尺寸无关。通过对某110 kV高压XLPE故障电缆进行拆卸,发现电缆发生故障的位置不是在电缆附件或主绝缘处,而是在电缆金属护套和绝缘屏蔽层之间,并且在紧贴于波纹铝护套波谷的电缆缓冲层外侧存在明显的白斑,呈条状或带状分布,如图2所示。除此之外,波纹铝护套的内侧与绝缘屏蔽层的外表面存在一些细小的烧蚀凹坑[15]
为了分析白斑缓冲层的理化性能,制作4个缓冲层样本。其中样本1为中航宝胜电缆有限公司生产的厚度为2 mm的缓冲带。样本2(无明显白斑)、样本3(少量白斑)和样本4(大量白斑)为某110 kV XLPE故障电缆的缓冲层,样本尺寸为3 cm×4 cm,如图3所示。
为了分析高压XLPE电缆缓冲层白斑的形成过程,首先通过能谱仪(enegry dispersive spectrometer,EDS)对缓冲层样本1~4(图3中虚线框处)进行能谱测量,得到各样本的化学元素及组成如表1所示。
表1可知,4个缓冲层样本中均含有C、O、Na和Al元素。样本1为新样本,理论上不应含有Al元素,推测为取样过程中不小心与铝护套接触而带入。样本2和样本3中Al元素含量与样本1中Al元素含量相差不大,结合白斑在缓冲层上的分布形状,推测缓冲层与波纹铝套波谷紧密接触时,将Al元素带入了缓冲层。相比样本1、样本2和样本4,样本3中的Na元素含量最多,而样本3本身并不位于波纹铝护套波谷处,说明有可能是缓冲层受潮将阻水粉析出引入了Na元素,因为阻水粉主要的化学成分为低交联型聚丙烯酸钠盐。相比样本1、样本2和样本3,样本4中的Al元素含量最多,其次为Na元素,说明缓冲层受潮,同时与铝护套发生了电化学腐蚀[15]
为了分析白斑对缓冲层电导率的影响,对缓冲层样本1~4的电导率进行了测量。考虑到白斑附着不均匀且白斑的面积较小,在样本上截取面积为1 cm×1 cm(图3中虚线框处)的缓冲层进行电导率测量,结果如图4所示。
图4可以看出,随着白斑含量的增加,缓冲层的电导率越来越小,根据表1可知,这是由于Na元素和Al元素含量逐渐增加导致的。对于样本3,由于受机械应力和重力作用,电缆上部缓冲层与波纹铝护套的波谷接触不紧密时[16],具有阻水作用的阻水粉受潮会发生膨胀,膨胀到一定高度会使无纺编织布与蓬松棉质之间出现局部接触不良,导致其电导率减小。结合表1图2可知,缓冲层上的白斑是由受潮和电化学腐蚀共同引起的,且白斑含量越多,越容易阻断缓冲层的电流通路,使其电导率下降。
为了分析白斑与缓冲层烧蚀之间的关系,通过COMSOL仿真软件建立了一个长度为0.5 m的110 kV高压XLPE电缆的二维轴向对称电热耦合仿真模型,截取部分模型如图5所示。由于电缆缓冲层本身为一种电阻性材料,本研究中将其介电常数设置为常数,仿真参数如表2所示。
为了简化计算,对该110 kV电缆的仿真运行条件进行以下4点假设:①电缆内部各个模块的参数固定,不随负荷的变化而变化;②介电性能具有较好的一致性,各结构层间接触光滑,无接触电阻产生;③电缆的结构和尺寸不受重力的影响;④缓冲层与波纹铝护套紧密接触。
对工频电压(110 kV高压XLPE电缆的额定运行电压为64 kV)下运行时新缓冲层的电阻热进行仿真,结果如图6所示。从图6(a)(b)可以看出,沿着缓冲层的轴向方向,当绝缘屏蔽层与波纹铝护套之间的距离最小时,电阻热最大。从图6(a)(c)可以看出,当绝缘屏蔽层与波纹铝护套之间距离最小时,沿着缓冲层径向方向,波纹铝护套波谷处缓冲层的电阻热最大。即当缓冲层的电导率不变时,在电场的作用下,缓冲层外表面与波纹铝护套波谷的紧密接触处会产生最大电阻热。
图7为工频下不同白斑含量缓冲层的电阻热仿真结果。从图7可以看出,随着白斑量的增加,即电导率减小,缓冲层上电阻热增大,说明缓冲层上电阻热与电导率成负相关。当电导率大幅减小时,如样本4的电导率远小于其他样本,此时产生的电阻热会显著增大。这是因为电导率越大,通流能力越强,流经缓冲层中的电荷经铝护套直接进入大地,缓冲层上积聚的电荷量少,电阻热小;一旦缓冲层的导电性能劣化,电导率小,阻断了电流的通路,电荷量不能及时经铝护套进入大地,就会在局部积聚产热,最终产生较大的电阻热。由于缓冲层为一种电阻性材料,其损耗主要取决于电导损耗即电阻热。如果缓冲层的电导率不变,同时电缆各层介质的介电性能具有较好的一致性(同种介质分布均匀),则在电缆正常运行时,其绝缘屏蔽层会产生一个等电势U。由电阻热P的计算公式(P=U2/RR=ρl/S,其中R为缓冲层的电阻;ρ为电阻率;l为极板距离,即缓冲层的厚度;S为极板的面积)可知,l越小,产生的电阻热越大,即绝缘屏蔽层与皱纹铝护套距离越近,产生的电阻热越大,也就是说在皱纹铝护套的波谷处产生的电阻热最大。
由于缓冲层上的白斑并非均匀分布,为了分析不同高频过电压对含白斑缓冲层的影响,首先分析工频电压对不同白斑含量的缓冲层产生的电阻热的影响。测量缓冲层上与波纹铝护套波谷环绕方向一致的白斑面积,发现白斑的宽度约为6 mm,长度随着波纹铝护套波谷与缓冲层环绕接触长度而不同。为此采用一个宽度为6 mm、厚度为0.5 mm的矩形框近似模拟白斑。设置缓冲层正常区域的电导率为1.02×10-2 S/m,当缓冲层上附着有不同含量的白斑时,在工频电压运行时产生的电阻热分布结果如图8所示。
图8可以看出,电缆在工频下运行时,当缓冲层上附着白斑时,在白斑的两侧局部小区域会产生较大的电阻热,并且白斑含量越多,其局部区域所产生的电阻热越大。这是因为白斑含量越多,电导率越小,导致缓冲层的通流能力减弱,阻碍了缓冲层中电荷流向铝护套的通路,从而使电荷量在缓冲层白斑的边缘处大量积聚,最终产生较大的电阻热。由此推测在缓冲层的白斑边缘位置有可能发生热量积聚而烧蚀。从图8也可以看出,不论缓冲层上的白斑含量多少,当在工频下运行时其产生的最大电阻热都很小(2.25×10-7 W/m3),说明电缆在工频下运行,且缓冲层与波纹铝护套连接良好时不会发生烧蚀。
电缆在运维过程中易受高频过电压的破坏,虽然高频过电压持续的时间很短,但是在频率很高时也会对电缆缓冲层产生一定的冲击。有研究者发现高频谐波对电缆应力控制部分发热起到主要诱发作用[17-18]。因此,设置最大频率为50 kHz、幅值为额定电压3倍即192 kV的过电压,用于定性分析不同高频过电压对电缆缓冲层电阻热的影响。在稳态时计算得到缓冲层白斑两侧局部产生的最大电阻热,如图9所示。
图9可以看出,当缓冲层的电导率不变时,随着过电压频率的增大,电阻热逐渐增大;当过电压的频率不变时,缓冲层的电导率越小,产生的电阻热越大。实验还发现,随着缓冲层电导率的减小,过电压频率的增大,沿着轴向方向白斑两侧局部产生的电阻热越来越大。在过电压频率为50 kHz时,缓冲层产生的最大电阻热为23 W/m3,相比较工频运行电压时产生的最大电阻热(2.25×10-7 W/m3),增大了8个数量级,说明过电压存在的时间虽然短暂,但其瞬间提升的电压值给电缆带来了巨大的能量冲击。
为了分析不同高频过电压对含白斑缓冲层产热的影响,仿真计算得到缓冲层含有大量白斑(电导率为2.04×10-6 S/m)时,其局部外围产生的最大电阻热和温度,如图10所示。
图10可以看出,随着过电压频率的升高,含白斑缓冲层产生的电阻热以及由此引起的温度呈单调上升趋势,且缓冲层产生的电阻热与温度具有强相关性。当过电压的频率超过30 kHz时,电阻热累计的热量引起的温升达到90℃,超过了电缆绝缘层的耐受温度,说明高频过电压会引起缓冲层白斑处热量积聚产生高温。当缓冲层受潮且/或局部发生电化学腐蚀时,会产生白斑,劣化缓冲层的导电性能,此时在高频过电压的作用下,流经缓冲层的电缆绝缘泄漏电流只能从缓冲层上电气连接良好的局部通路流过,造成热量在局部电气连接不良处累积而烧蚀缓冲层。实际运行中,过电压的作用是一个暂态过程,其频率和作用时间对缓冲层的产热均有影响,应该综合考虑过电压对缓冲层的影响因素以及缓冲层的介电性能,分析缓冲层的热烧蚀特性。
对110 kV高压XLPE电缆缓冲层的白斑进行测试,并基于测试结果建立电热偶合仿真模型对缓冲层的产热特性进行计算,主要得到以下结论:
(1)缓冲层白斑EDS化学元素测量结果显示,紧贴于波纹铝护套波谷的含有大量白斑的缓冲层,其Al元素的相对含量高于Na元素,含有少量白斑的其他区域中Na元素的相对含量远高于Al元素,表明最初白斑是缓冲层受潮而析出的阻水粉。
(2)白斑的产生降低了缓冲层的电导率,且白斑含量越多,电导率越低。
(3)由于缓冲层电导率的下降,导致电缆产生的电阻热变大,从而引起局部温升。同时电阻热与高频过电压的频率成正相关,随着缓冲层白斑的析出,在高频过电压的作用下,缓冲层白斑边缘会产生大量的电阻热,导致电缆温度上升而发生烧蚀。
