Reasonable prediction of the ageing state of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cables and timely replacement of severely aged cables are very important for the stable operation of power grid. In this paper, XLPE insulated cable samples were subjected to accelerated thermal ageing test at 145℃.The microphysical and chemical properties of these samples were analyzed, and the correlation between dielectric parameters and microstructure of terahertz frequency range was established. The results show that with the increase of aging time, the crystallinity and thermal stability of XLPE decrease, while the carbonyl index increases, indicating that the ageing degree of XLPE is gradually intensified. In the terahertz frequency range, the real part of the dielectric constant is affected by the combination of multiple structural factors such as crystallinity and polar group content, resulting in an unclear relationship with ageing time. However, the change of the imaginary part of dielectric constant is mainly caused by the dipole high elastic polarization of polar groups, showing a trend of gradually increasing with the ageing time. After fitting, it is found that the imaginary part of dielectric constant is positively correlated with the carbonyl index. Therefore, the imaginary part of dielectric constant in the terahertz frequency range can well reflect the ageing degree of XLPE.

合理预测交联聚乙烯(XLPE)电缆的老化状态,及时更换老化严重的电缆,对于电网的稳定运行至关重要。本研究对XLPE绝缘电缆试样进行145℃的加速热老化实验,分析了相关微观理化特性,并建立了太赫兹频段介电参数与微观结构之间的关联。结果表明:随着老化时间的增加,XLPE的结晶度降低、热稳定性下降,羰基指数增大,表明XLPE老化程度逐渐加剧;在太赫兹频段范围内,介电常数实部受结晶度、极性基团含量等多种结构因素的共同影响,导致其与老化时间之间的关系不明确,但介电常数虚部的变化主要由源于极性基团的偶极子高弹态极化引起,表现出随老化时间增加而逐渐增大的趋势。经拟合发现介电常数虚部与羰基指数呈正相关关系,因此太赫兹频段介电常数虚部能够较好地反映XLPE试样的老化程度。

合理预测交联聚乙烯(XLPE)电缆的老化状态,及时更换老化严重的电缆,对于电网的稳定运行至关重要。本研究对XLPE绝缘电缆试样进行145℃的加速热老化实验,分析了相关微观理化特性,并建立了太赫兹频段介电参数与微观结构之间的关联。结果表明:随着老化时间的增加,XLPE的结晶度降低、热稳定性下降,羰基指数增大,表明XLPE老化程度逐渐加剧;在太赫兹频段范围内,介电常数实部受结晶度、极性基团含量等多种结构因素的共同影响,导致其与老化时间之间的关系不明确,但介电常数虚部的变化主要由源于极性基团的偶极子高弹态极化引起,表现出随老化时间增加而逐渐增大的趋势。经拟合发现介电常数虚部与羰基指数呈正相关关系,因此太赫兹频段介电常数虚部能够较好地反映XLPE试样的老化程度。

Reasonable prediction of the ageing state of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cables and timely replacement of severely aged cables are very important for the stable operation of power grid. In this paper, XLPE insulated cable samples were subjected to accelerated thermal ageing test at 145℃.The microphysical and chemical properties of these samples were analyzed, and the correlation between dielectric parameters and microstructure of terahertz frequency range was established. The results show that with the increase of aging time, the crystallinity and thermal stability of XLPE decrease, while the carbonyl index increases, indicating that the ageing degree of XLPE is gradually intensified. In the terahertz frequency range, the real part of the dielectric constant is affected by the combination of multiple structural factors such as crystallinity and polar group content, resulting in an unclear relationship with ageing time. However, the change of the imaginary part of dielectric constant is mainly caused by the dipole high elastic polarization of polar groups, showing a trend of gradually increasing with the ageing time. After fitting, it is found that the imaginary part of dielectric constant is positively correlated with the carbonyl index. Therefore, the imaginary part of dielectric constant in the terahertz frequency range can well reflect the ageing degree of XLPE.

交联聚乙烯(cross-linked polyethylene,XLPE)以其优异的电气、力学性能被广泛应用于中高压电力电缆[1]。而XLPE在长期运行中不可避免地因为电、热、机械应力等作用而发生老化,导致电缆绝缘性能劣化甚至击穿,最终造成严重的电力事故,直接影响电网的安全稳定运行。据国家电网公司统计数据,绝缘老化引起的电缆故障数占比超过44%,位居首位[2]。因此,研究XLPE电力电缆的老化状态,获得其绝缘老化趋势,形成能够有效表征老化状态的评估技术和方法,是保障XLPE电力电缆稳定运行的关键。
近年来,学者们采用微观结构表征和介电性能测试相结合的方法,针对XLPE老化状态评估开展了大量研究。文献[3]表明随着老化时间的增加,XLPE中的羰基指数不断增大。文献[4]结合电声脉冲法(PEA)与X射线衍射技术(XRD)研究并分析了老化后XLPE的空间电荷行为和结晶特性,发现电缆老化导致XLPE的晶体尺寸减小,结晶度降低,结晶特性的变化增强了对空间电荷的捕获能力。文献[5]表明,XLPE的介质损耗因数与体积电阻率对老化效应非常敏感,可以作为评估电力电缆热老化程度的电气参量。文献[6]表明,当XLPE中的残余抗氧化剂含量下降至临界值以下时,将导致XLPE绝缘性能发生明显劣化。然而,目前仍然缺乏能够准确表征电力电缆绝缘老化状态的无损检测手段。传统的状态参量包括电气和理化两大类:①绝缘电阻、介质损耗因数等电气参量,虽在预防性试验中广泛采用,但与XLPE绝缘老化状态的关联性较差,无法准确反映绝缘剩余寿命;②羰基指数、结晶度等理化特性参数,与XLPE绝缘的老化程度密切相关,但需取样至实验室借助精密仪器进行测量,无法及时提供绝缘老化状态的信息和预警潜在的运行风险[7-8]
太赫兹时域光谱(terahertz time-domain spectroscopy, THz-TDS)技术具有瞬态性、低能性、宽带性以及相干性等优势,被广泛应用于医学[9]、安全[10]、药学[11-12]等领域。同时,由于THz-TDS技术对于绝缘材料具有良好的穿透性,已有部分学者基于THz-TDS技术在电气绝缘领域开展了部分应用探索[13-15]。太赫兹光谱包含丰富的物理和化学信息,晶体的声子振动、分子振动和转动、氢键的拉伸和扭转以及化学键的低频振动等都位于太赫兹频段,其在XLPE绝缘老化的无损检测领域也表现出较大潜力。
本研究对XLPE绝缘电缆试样进行145℃的加速热老化实验,采用X射线衍射(XRD)分析、傅里叶变换红外光谱(FTIR)、热重分析法(TGA),表征电缆老化试样的微观结构,分析试样的老化机理并借助太赫兹时域光谱(THz-TDS)检测,提取并明确试样在太赫兹频段范围内介电参数的变化规律,建立太赫兹频段介电参数与微观理化特性参数之间的关联,提出基于太赫兹时域光谱技术的老化特征参量,实现电力电缆绝缘老化状态的无损检测。
基于THz-TDS系统对试样进行无损检测,获取穿透聚合物后,太赫兹脉冲的幅值和相位信息。基于材料学相关理论,分析材料的折射率、消光系数、介电常数和介质损耗因数等相关参数[16]
图1为幅值为E0(ω)的太赫兹波通过复折射率为n^s(ω)、厚度为l的电介质试样时的传播路径。太赫兹波在空间与介质界面处会产生多次反射和折射,最终实际采集的太赫兹时域信号是中间传输路径中波幅值的总和Et(ω)。测试过程中,控制太赫兹波法向入射,可以假定空间中n^s(ω)=1,则Et(ω)可由式(1)进行计算[17]

式(1)中:j为虚数单位;由空间传输到介质表面的波的复透射系数为τ=2/(1+n^s);由介质传输到空间的波的复透射系数与复反射系数分别为τ'=2n^s/(1+n^s)ρ'=(n^s-1)/(n^s+1)ω为角速度,c为真空中的光速,FP(ω)表示样品内多次反射而产生的法布里-珀罗效应回波信号的幅值,如式(2)所示[18]

实际操作时,可以通过控制时域时间窗口以保证测试过程中不出现反射现象。这种测试条件下,太赫兹波通过试样后信号的幅值可以表示为Es(ω),如式(3)所示。

式(5)~(7)中:ϕ(ω)为传递函数的幅角;A(ω)为传递函数的幅值;ns(ω)为介质的折射率;κs(ω)为介质的消光系数。
根据复介电常数与复折射率的关系,可以得到介质的介电常数实部与虚部,如式(8)~(9)所示。

式(8)~(9)中:ε'为介电常数实部;ε为介电常数虚部。
使用110 kV电缆料(CLNA-8141SC型,韩国韩华公司),通过熔融共混法制备试样。采用平板硫化机(YT-LH22A1型,东莞市仪通检测设备科技有限公司)对电缆料进行压片交联制样,在120℃下预热5 min后,在20 MPa压力下合模5 min,获得片状的LDPE复配料。继续将片状LDPE以20 MPa的压力合模10 min,在这个过程中,交联剂会受热分解,使LDPE交联成XLPE,最终获得厚度为1 mm的片状XLPE试样。
为研究XLPE的热老化特性,对其进行加速热老化实验。将片状XLPE试样悬挂于空气循环的烘箱中进行加速热老化,温度设置为145℃,老化时间分别设置为0、2、4、6、8、16天。
采用傅里叶变换红外光谱仪(Nicolet iN10型,赛默飞世尔科技公司),识别并定量分析老化试样中羰基等特征官能团的变化规律,采用透射模式,波数范围为4 000~525 cm-1,分辨率为4 cm-1,扫描次数为32次。
采用XRD衍射仪(D8 ADVANCE型,德国Bruker公司)对老化前后的XLPE试样进行XRD扫描,获取衍射谱图,测试电压为40 kV,电流为40 kA,扫描角度范围为15°~30°,步长为0.05°。
采用热重分析仪(TG/SDTA 851e型,瑞士Mettler公司),研究老化前后XLPE试样的热分解特性。选取(5±0.5)mg试样置于坩埚中,以20℃/min的升温速率从50℃升温至600℃,测试气氛为N2
采用大恒光电公司生产的CIP-TDS型太赫兹时域光谱仪系统进行测试,其主要由飞秒激光器、太赫兹辐射装置、太赫兹波探测装置、时间延迟控制系统以及各种光学透镜组成。太赫兹发射端采用低温生长GaAs光导天线,探测器采用ZnTe晶体。采用波长为800 nm、脉冲宽度为80 fs、重复频率为80 MHz的锁模蓝宝石激光器产生和检测太赫兹波。THz-TDS的带宽为3.5 THz,对应动态范围为55 dB。
太赫兹时域光谱仪系统的基本原理如图2所示,飞秒激光器产生的飞秒激光通过分光棱镜分光后分为两路,一路作为泵浦光,一路作为探测光。泵浦光经透镜聚焦到光电导天线上产生太赫兹波。产生的太赫兹波通过离轴抛面镜组成的光学系统后,与探测光汇合,被探测光探测并记录下来。通过控制高精度的电动平移台构成的时间延迟系统来调节泵浦脉冲和探测脉冲之间的时间延迟,最终可以探测出太赫兹脉冲的整个时域波形。
本文测试均在透射模块下进行,测试全程保证湿度低于3%,激光源功率偏差在3%以内。为减小误差,测试前后采样两次,记录平均值。
图3为老化前后XLPE试样在4 000~525 cm-1范围的红外光谱图。从图3可以看出,位于1 462cm-1处的亚甲基变角振动峰与位于720 cm-1的亚甲基面内摇摆振动峰都随着老化时间的增加逐渐减弱。在高波数段范围内,约2 848 cm-1、2 915 cm-1处,存在明显的亚甲基对称与反对称伸缩振动吸收峰,且随着老化时间的增加,吸收峰强度逐渐减弱并向高波数段移动,见图4。导致上述现象产生的原因主要有两点:①亚甲基容易在热氧老化过程中被氧化,导致其数量减少,表现为吸收峰强度减弱;②XLPE发生热氧老化,碳原子将与电负性较大的氧原子相连,在诱导效应作用下亚甲基吸收峰向高波数段移动[20],以上说明老化使XLPE的分子链结构受到破坏,这也进一步证实其老化程度逐渐加剧。
XLPE发生热氧老化后将生成大量极性基团[21]。对比图3中老化前后XLPE试样的红外光谱可以看出,在XLPE老化试样中出现了新的特征峰,分别为位于1 046 cm-1、1 414 cm-1处的-C-O-C-吸收峰与位于1 850~1 690 cm-1范围内的羰基(C=O)吸收峰,且吸收峰强度都随着老化时间的增加逐渐增强。
为定量分析XLPE试样的老化程度,普遍采用羰基指数来表征。羰基指数是将1 850~1 690 cm-1范围的羰基吸收峰面积除以1 480~1 450 cm-1范围的亚甲基吸收峰面积来获得[3]。然而,基于上述分析可以发现,亚甲基吸收峰会随着老化程度的加深而发生较为明显的变化。因此,如果选取亚甲基峰作为内标峰,会造成较大误差。为精确表征XLPE老化过程中结构的变化规律,选取2 010 cm-1处对氧化不敏感的吸收峰作为内标峰,羰基指数(R)的计算公式为式(10)[22]

式(10)中:A1720是羰基吸收峰面积,A2010为2 010 cm-1处内标峰的面积。
基于式(10),计算获得各XLPE试样的羰基指数随老化时间的变化曲线如图5所示。从图5可以看出,随着老化时间增加,羰基指数呈现先缓慢增大后快速增大的变化趋势,说明XLPE在热氧老化过程中,产生了大量具有羰基基团的老化产物,如醛、酮、羧酸等。
图6是不同老化时间XLPE试样的XRD曲线。从图6可以看出,XLPE中存在两个明显的晶区衍射峰,位于21.5°与24.0°附近,分别代表XLPE的(110)晶面与(200)晶面。随着老化时间的增加,(110)晶面的衍射峰强度不断降低,而(200)晶面的衍射峰强度先上升,在老化8天后开始降低。因此,本文研究的XLPE结晶老化特性可以分为老化初期和老化后期两个阶段。在老化初期,重结晶与晶体结构劣化同时发生[23]。然而,在老化后期,热氧老化对XLPE晶体结构的破坏占据主导地位,试样内部的晶体结构不断膨胀并发生热裂解反应,导致结晶区向无定形区转变。
根据晶面的峰面积可以计算XLPE的结晶度x,如式(11)所示 [24]

式(11)中:A(110)表示(110)晶面衍射峰面积;A(200)表示(200)晶面衍射峰面积;A表示无定形衍射区面积。
图7为XLPE试样结晶度随老化时间的变化曲线。
图7可以看出,随着老化的进行,XLPE的结晶度不断降低,其降低趋势可分为两个阶段:老化前期,结晶度缓慢降低,但在老化8天后,XLPE试样的结晶度迅速降低,约50%的结晶区转变为无定形区,这与衍射峰强度变化规律一致。文献[25]提出,电缆在高于熔融温度下运行时,由于晶体处于熔融状态,热老化更容易对结晶区产生破坏。因此,老化后XLPE的晶体结构完整性变差,结晶度下降。
图8为老化前后XLPE试样的热失重(TGA)曲线。从图8可以看出,XLPE的热失重可以分为3个阶段:①温度较低时,XLPE的热稳定性较好,并未发生分解;②当温度高于某一临界温度时,XLPE的交联结构被破坏,长链断裂成短链,并进一步分解成为小分子物质逸出试样,表现为试样质量迅速下降;③当温度达到500℃后,残留率不再变化,表明XLPE已经完全分解。
图8还可以看出,老化时间小于8天时,XLPE试样的热失重曲线变化较小,均在450℃左右开始分解,说明在老化前期,试样的热稳定性仍处于较高水平。但随着老化时间的增加,XLPE的热分解温度明显降低。为分析试样中的热失重过程,对XLPE试样的热失重曲线进行一次微分,得到微分热重(DTG)曲线,它反映试样质量的变化率和温度或时间的关系,DTG曲线中的峰代表试样质量损失的过程,如图9所示。
图9可以看出,随着老化时间增加,热失重峰变宽,这同样表明老化后的XLPE试样在更低的温度下即会分解,说明老化时间增加会降低XLPE试样的热稳定性[26]
为定量研究老化时间对XLPE热稳定性的影响,提取并分析各试样的热分解温度和活化能。首先,根据GB/T 33047.1—2016中热重曲线的解析规范,将TGA曲线中起始质量延长线与台阶最大梯度处的交点作为XLPE的热分解起始温度,绘制出热分解温度与老化时间的关系曲线,如图10(a)所示。随后,通过Coast-Redfern积分法计算老化前后XLPE试样的活化能[27],初始质量为m0的试样在升温过程中发生分解反应,在t时刻试样质量为m,分解结束后剩余质量为m,则其分解速率如式(12)所示。

对于XLPE试样,有式(15)

结合式(14)和(15)可以发现,ln[(1-1-α0.5)/T 2]1/T 2之间存在线性关系,其斜率与热裂解活化能相关,因此通过绘制二者的曲线并进行线性拟合,获得斜率后即可计算试样的热裂解活化能E,如图10(b)所示。
图10可以看出,与未老化试样相比,XLPE老化试样的热分解温度和活化能均降低,且表现出随老化时间增加而逐渐降低的变化趋势。表明老化可以促进XLPE试样中的热裂解反应,导致热裂解反应活化能随老化时间的增加而逐渐降低,进而降低试样的热分解温度,最终导致XLPE老化试样的热稳定降低。
与傅里叶红外光谱不同,太赫兹波的能量相对更低,因而可以观测到更细微的分子运动,例如聚合物的框架震动、定向极化、点阵模以及氢键震荡[28]
图11为老化前后XLPE试样的太赫兹时域谱图。从图11可以看出,未老化的XLPE试样信号相比参考信号有一定程度的相位延迟。这是由于XLPE的折射率大于空气折射率,太赫兹波在试样中的传输速率较无试样的情况更慢,到达太赫兹波探测器所需的时间也更长;观察图11中未老化试样与参考信号的幅值情况可以发现,经过试样的太赫兹波幅值出现微小的衰减,这是由于XLPE吸收了太赫兹波。比较不同老化时间XLPE的太赫兹波信号发现随着老化时间的增加,太赫兹波幅值逐渐降低,而相位先向左移动后向右移动,表明与未老化试样相比,XLPE老化试样的折射率及其对太赫兹波的吸收特性均发生了变化。
为进一步分析老化对于XLPE介电特性的影响,基于式(6)~(9)计算并获得了XLPE试样在太赫兹频域范围内的介电常数实部和虚部,如图12所示。从图12(a)可以看出,XLPE的介电常数实部在老化第二天减小后逐渐增大。部分学者针对太赫兹频段XLPE的介电常数实部进行了研究,但研究结论并不统一[29-30]。文献[31]的研究认为,在太赫兹频段范围内,XLPE的介电常数实部主要由电子位移极化贡献,晶相的堆积密度比非晶相大,因此单位体积内晶相参与电子位移极化的原子数更多,介电常数更高。老化试样结晶度降低,造成晶相占比减少,进而导致介电常数实部减小[31]。然而XLPE老化试样的介电常数实部并未与结晶度呈现出正相关关系。随着老化时间增加,试样的结晶度降低,但介电常数实部先减小后增大,表明XLPE老化试样介电常数的变化并非由单一结构因素决定。偶极子高弹态极化发生在太赫兹频段范围内,且常见于高弹态极性高分子介质中,由电场下极性基团与链节的定向引起[32]。从图12(a)还可以看出,未老化XLPE试样的介电常数实部几乎与频率无关,但XLPE试样老化16天后频率依赖性较强,说明XLPE老化试样中出现了新的极化过程[33],进一步证实了偶极子高弹态极化的建立。
结合图5羰基指数和图7结晶度的计算结果,认为XLPE老化试样介电常数的变化,受到结晶度的电子位移极化与源于羰基等极性基团偶极子高弹态极化的共同影响。在老化初期,结晶度对介电常数的影响占据主导地位,老化试样的结晶度降低,引起老化试样的密度降低,进而导致介电常数相较于未老化试样较小,同时,羰基指数的增大使得介电常数随老化时间增加而稍有增大;在老化后期,尽管试样的结晶度显著降低,但羰基指数显著增大,导致偶极子高弹态极化强度大幅增强,最终老化试样的介电常数较未老化试样增大。
图12(b)可以看出,XLPE试样的介电常数虚部随老化时间增加呈现出单调递增的变化趋势,说明随着老化时间的增加,XLPE试样对太赫兹波的吸收增强,介质损耗增大。与电子位移极化相比,偶极子高弹态极化在太赫兹频段范围内具有明显的频率依赖性。因此,XLPE试样介电常数虚部随老化时间的增大,主要由羰基等偶极子高弹态极化对太赫兹波的吸收引起。由此可知,XLPE试样介电常数虚部随老化时间的变化,仅受到羰基等极性基团的影响,XLPE老化试样介电常数虚部的变化可以直观反映羰基指数的变化情况。进一步地,基于3.1节,羰基指数与老化时间的关联性,可以建立太赫兹频段介电常数虚部与XLPE试样老化时间之间的关联。
基于上述研究,建立了XLPE老化试样介电常数虚部与羰基指数之间的关系。选取1.3 THz、1.4 THz下XLPE试样的介电常数虚部,并分别将其与羰基指数线性拟合,拟合结果见图13(a)(b),其中R2分别为0.999 6、0.999 5。结果表明,太赫兹频段介电常数虚部与羰基指数呈线性关系,证实极性基团含量的增多导致太赫兹频段范围内损耗的增大。由此可知,太赫兹频段范围内的介电常数虚部可以作为表征XLPE电缆老化程度的特征参量,太赫兹时域光谱技术有望作为评估电缆老化状态的有效手段。
(1)热氧老化对XLPE试样微观结构的影响主要分为3个方面:①晶格破坏,结晶态向无定形态转变,结晶度降低;②XLPE内部因热氧老化产生了大量含有羰基的极性基团,导致羰基指数增大;③热氧老化导致大量交联键断裂,热裂解反应活化能降低,热分解温度降低。老化时间增加,XLPE的老化程度加剧。
(2)提取XLPE试样太赫兹频段范围内的介电常数实部和虚部作为介电参数,发现随着老化时间的增加,XLPE试样的介电常数实部先减小后增大,这是因为其受到取决于结晶度的电子位移极化与源于羰基等极性基团偶极子高弹态极化的共同影响。但介电常数虚部呈现出单调递增的变化趋势,这归因于其变化主要由源于羰基等极性基团的偶极子高弹态极化过程贡献。
(3)建立XLPE试样太赫兹频段介电常数虚部与羰基指数之间的关联。发现太赫兹频段的介电常数虚部与羰基指数呈线性关系,表明介电常数虚部与羰基含量高度相关。考虑到羰基指数与老化状态之间的关联性,可以得出,太赫兹频段的介电常数虚部也可以作为表征XLPE电缆老化程度的特征参量。
