Infrared temperature rise detection is an effective means to screen faulty composite insulators. However, the causes of abnormal heating of composite insulators are diverse, and not all causes will evolve into malignant faults. Therefore, it is particularly important to distinguish the abnormal heating caused by different causes for the safe, stable, and economic operation of power grid. In this paper, the physical and chemical properties of two 220 kV retreated composite insulators with different heating characteristics were studied by SEM and FTIR, and their dielectric properties were also studied. The results show that the causes of different abnormal temperature rise are different. For the composite insulator whose heating part is concentrated at the end of high-voltage end and temperature rise is lower than 5℃, the epoxy resin of the core rod at the heating part has no obvious degradation, and the dielectric constant and dielectric loss factor have no obvious increase, while the sheath has holes and shallow microcracks, and the dielectric constant and dielectric loss factor increase with the increase of humidity. For the composite insulator whose heating part extends to multiple umbrella skirts and temperature rise is up to 40 ℃, the epoxy resin of the core rod has obvious degradation, and the dielectric constant and dielectric loss factor are 3.67 times and 79.4 times bigger than those of the normal part, respectively.

红外温升检测是筛查故障复合绝缘子的有效手段,但导致复合绝缘子异常发热的原因多种多样,并不是所有原因都会演变为恶性故障,因此区分不同原因引起的异常发热对电网安全稳定经济运行尤为重要。本文对两支存在不同发热特征的220 kV退运复合绝缘子进行扫描电镜、傅里叶红外光谱等理化特性研究,同时对其介电性能进行分析。结果表明:造成不同异常温升现象的原因不同,其中发热部位集中在高压端端部、温升值低于5℃的复合绝缘子,其发热处芯棒的环氧树脂无明显降解现象,介电常数和介质损耗因数也无明显增加,而其护套出现孔洞和较浅的微裂纹,介电常数和介质损耗因数随湿度的增加而增加;发热部位延伸至多片伞裙、温升值达到40℃的复合绝缘子,其芯棒的环氧树脂有明显降解现象,介电常数和介质损耗因数分别为正常部位的3.67倍和79.4倍。

红外温升检测是筛查故障复合绝缘子的有效手段,但导致复合绝缘子异常发热的原因多种多样,并不是所有原因都会演变为恶性故障,因此区分不同原因引起的异常发热对电网安全稳定经济运行尤为重要。本文对两支存在不同发热特征的220 kV退运复合绝缘子进行扫描电镜、傅里叶红外光谱等理化特性研究,同时对其介电性能进行分析。结果表明:造成不同异常温升现象的原因不同,其中发热部位集中在高压端端部、温升值低于5℃的复合绝缘子,其发热处芯棒的环氧树脂无明显降解现象,介电常数和介质损耗因数也无明显增加,而其护套出现孔洞和较浅的微裂纹,介电常数和介质损耗因数随湿度的增加而增加;发热部位延伸至多片伞裙、温升值达到40℃的复合绝缘子,其芯棒的环氧树脂有明显降解现象,介电常数和介质损耗因数分别为正常部位的3.67倍和79.4倍。

Infrared temperature rise detection is an effective means to screen faulty composite insulators. However, the causes of abnormal heating of composite insulators are diverse, and not all causes will evolve into malignant faults. Therefore, it is particularly important to distinguish the abnormal heating caused by different causes for the safe, stable, and economic operation of power grid. In this paper, the physical and chemical properties of two 220 kV retreated composite insulators with different heating characteristics were studied by SEM and FTIR, and their dielectric properties were also studied. The results show that the causes of different abnormal temperature rise are different. For the composite insulator whose heating part is concentrated at the end of high-voltage end and temperature rise is lower than 5℃, the epoxy resin of the core rod at the heating part has no obvious degradation, and the dielectric constant and dielectric loss factor have no obvious increase, while the sheath has holes and shallow microcracks, and the dielectric constant and dielectric loss factor increase with the increase of humidity. For the composite insulator whose heating part extends to multiple umbrella skirts and temperature rise is up to 40 ℃, the epoxy resin of the core rod has obvious degradation, and the dielectric constant and dielectric loss factor are 3.67 times and 79.4 times bigger than those of the normal part, respectively.

复合绝缘子以其优异的电气性能和良好的经济性而被广泛应用于高压输电线路,作为构成电网的重要部件,其安全运行对电力系统的稳定运行具有重要意义[1-4]
在我国南部地区,复合绝缘子由于长期在高温高湿的环境下工作,部分会产生缺陷,如果不及时发现并采取措施,可能导致内部绝缘击穿、断串和其他恶性故障,因此对复合绝缘子缺陷的早期诊断是电力系统面临的重要问题[5-7]。文献[8]提到,复合绝缘子产生缺陷时,往往伴随着异常温升现象,所以利用红外手段能够有效检测复合绝缘子的缺陷。但是复合绝缘子异常发热的产生机理目前尚未充分确定,护套和伞裙的表面污染、绝缘子内部缺陷、水分侵入等都可能会导致复合绝缘子异常发热[9-12]。这些原因并不都会演变为恶性故障,因此区分不同缺陷引起的异常发热对电网安全稳定经济运行尤为重要。
文献[13]通过对现场发现的异常发热复合绝缘子进行灰密度和盐密度测试,排除了由污染引起发热的可能性,并通过对硅橡胶吸湿性能的分析得出绝缘子的异常发热是由吸湿后护套介电常数增加、绝缘子电场变化和极化损耗加剧引起。然而,该研究忽略了护套吸收水分后介质损耗因数变化对异常发热的影响。文献[14]研究认为,复合绝缘子护套的介质损耗因数随护套中水分含量的增加而增大,导致复合绝缘子异常发热。然而,该研究没有考虑老化和吸湿后复合绝缘子护套端面电场介电常数变化的影响。文献[15]利用红外热像手段对线路进行巡检,发现有异常发热复合绝缘子存在,通过扫描电镜、红外光谱、热重分析等研究方法,得出复合绝缘子异常发热由芯棒劣化缺陷引起。然而,上述研究仅从微观角度进行实验现象分析,未涵盖其电气性能的分析。
上述方法和结论对复合绝缘子不同缺陷的研究提供了借鉴和参考,但研究中红外仅为观测手段,并未对不同缺陷的异常发热现象进行对比区分。鉴于此,本文通过对海南地区一批220 kV退运复合绝缘子进行红外检测,提取其中存在发热故障的复合绝缘子并进行性能检测和故障诊断。
本文对一批海南地区退运的220 kV复合绝缘子试品开展红外温升试验,分析其中是否存在异常发热的复合绝缘子。试验通过YDJ-350工频试验变压器对试品施加工频电压140 kV,维持1 h,分别在干燥以及湿度为95%的环境条件下进行加压试验。
试验发现其中两支退运绝缘子存在异常温升现象,分别命名为试品1#和试品2#,其红外图像如图14所示。
图12可以看出,在干燥环境情况下,试品1#无明显发热现象;但当试品1#处于95%湿度环境时,其高压端端部出现明显的异常发热现象,最高温升为2.4℃。
图34可以看出,在干燥环境情况下,试品2#相较于试品1#存在明显异常发热现象,发热范围从高压端端部延伸至第八片伞裙处,最高温升为34.5℃。当试品2#置于95%湿度环境时,其最高温升值升至40℃,发热范围与干燥情况相同。
通过上述红外结果可知,试品1#在高湿度环境下存在异常温升现象,而干燥情况下发热不明显;试品2#在干燥与高湿情况下,均出现明显的异常发热现象,且发热部位相同,温升值也远大于试品1#。因此初步分析,造成两支退运绝缘子异常温升的原因不同。
针对两支复合绝缘子异常发热现象,进一步对这两支复合绝缘子进行外观检查并解剖分析,如图56所示。
图5可以看出,试品1#的护套表面颜色变暗,韧性下降,高压侧韧性下降程度相对更大。芯棒与护套之间未出现脱粘现象,硅橡胶护套难以从芯棒表面完整剥离且芯棒未出现明显劣化痕迹。
图6可以看出,试品2#复合绝缘子的护套表面存在局部开裂现象,护套开裂部位内部芯棒发生劣化。相较于试品1#,试品2#的硅橡胶护套能够轻易地剥离芯棒,且护套上带有部分芯棒残渣。去除伞套后可以看出,该支绝缘子的芯棒严重劣化,表面存在明显碳化通道,以高压端金具至第8片伞间尤为严重。
综上所述,两支存在不同发热特征的复合绝缘子在外观上存在明显差异,试品1#的芯棒完整,无明显劣化痕迹,而试品2#的芯棒部位存在劣化现象,初步猜测两支复合绝缘子的异常温升由不同原因造成。
芯棒的主要成分为玻璃纤维和环氧树脂。玻璃纤维作为无机物,化学结构稳定,具有不燃烧、不氧化的特点,其熔点在1 000℃以上。相较于玻璃纤维,环氧树脂作为有机物,其耐热性能较差,熔点在400~600℃,明显低于玻璃纤维[16]。因此,热失重法可以作为分析玻璃纤维和环氧树脂含量的方法。本研究使用热重分析仪对两支试品异常发热部分芯棒在50~800℃范围内的热失重曲线进行分析,结果如图7所示。
图7可知,在350~410℃,芯棒材料快速热解,热失重明显,此时热失重主要由材料中的环氧树脂基体热解造成;在410~800℃,热解质量变化不明显,说明环氧树脂基体已完全分解。由TGA曲线可知,新试品和试品1#中的玻璃纤维含量分别为80.41%和82.79%,环氧树脂含量分别为19.59%和17.21%,说明试品1#的环氧树脂含量与新试品大致相同,无明显降解熔化现象发生。而试品2#在350~410℃热分解的质量明显小于新试品的芯棒,其玻璃纤维含量为96.08%,环氧树脂含量为3.92%,说明试品2#芯棒中的环氧树脂含量远小于新试品中的环氧树脂含量。即进一步证明,试品2#芯棒发生劣化现象,主要变化为芯棒中的环氧树脂发生降解。
傅里叶红外光谱分析(FTIR)是一种能够对物质的化学成分进行分析的方法[17]。由于不同的原子或分子能够吸收的电磁辐射波长不同,可以根据红外光谱上吸收峰的位置,对官能团种类进行区分。同时,FTIR吸收峰峰值越高,对应的官能团越多,从而可以通过官能团的峰值变化对芯棒发生的化学反应进行分析[15]
复合绝缘子芯棒中的主要成分除玻璃纤维和环氧树脂以外,还存在少量的固化剂和偶联剂。玻璃纤维的主要成分为SiO2、Al2O3和CaO,而环氧树脂的主要成分为双酚A型缩水甘油醚环氧树脂,其化学式如图8所示。
由此可以得出芯棒的红外光谱中可能出现吸收峰的位置以及对应的官能团,如表1所示[18]
结合表1,将各吸收峰对应的特征官能团标识于FTIR的结果中,如图9所示。对比图9试品1#和试品2#的红外光谱,可以发现以下几处明显的不同:
(1)试品2#在波数为3 600~3 180 cm-1处的吸收峰明显高于试品1#和新试品,说明试品2#的芯棒在劣化过程中羟基含量增加;而波数为1 736 cm-1处的吸收峰有所下降,表明试品2#劣化部位处的酯基含量降低,说明劣化芯棒中的固化剂和偶联剂发生水解断链,如式(1)所示。
(2)试品2#在波数为3 000~2 890、1 608、1 510、1 450、1 180、1 038 cm-1处的吸收峰明显低于1#和新试品,表明脂肪族中的C-C、C-O-C、C-H以及芳香族(苯环)、甲基等结构被破坏,进而说明试品2#异常发热部分芯棒的环氧树脂基体发生了严重氧化降解,最终可能产生CO2和H2O等产物溢出芯棒,反应过程如式(2)所示。此现象与TGA结果相同,进一步证明试品2#异常发热处芯棒发生了环氧树脂的氧化分解。
(3)相较而言,试品1#异常发热部位与新试品的吸收峰峰值大致相同,表明其官能团未发生明显的化学反应,即芯棒中的固化剂和偶联剂未发生水解断链现象,芯棒中的环氧树脂未发生氧化分解现象。
X射线光电子能谱分析通过采用一定能量的X射线照射样品表面,测量原子的内层电子及其化学位移,进而获得元素种类[19]。本文采用此方法对两支试品异常发热部分进行元素含量分析,结果如图10所示。从图10可以看出,复合绝缘子芯棒中含量较多的元素为Al、Si、C、N和O。其中Al元素和Si元素是构成玻璃纤维的重要元素,而C、O是构成有机物环氧树脂的重要元素。
相较于新试品和试品1#,试品2#的元素含量发生了明显的改变,其中试品2#异常发热部位的C元素含量为48.46%,相较新试品的61.87%和试品1#的61.62%有所减少,说明环氧树脂基体发生氧化反应,分子链断裂,甲基等含C元素基团被氧化,生成CO2等。此结果解释了傅里叶红外光谱中C-C、C-O-C、C-H、芳香族(苯环)、甲基等官能团吸收峰降低的原因。
同时试品2#的O和N元素含量有所增加,N元素含量从1.2%增长到1.9%,O元素含量则从26%增长到48%。这是由于在护套开裂部分,空气中的N2和O2在局部放电作用下生成NO2,外界水分侵入后,NO2和O2遇水生成硝酸根离子,侵蚀芯棒,如式(3)~(4)所示。
为进一步研究3支试品芯棒的含氮物种类,对3支试品的N1s峰值进行分析,得到新试品、试品1#和试品2#的N1s峰值如图11所示。从图11可以看出,对于试品1#和新试品,其主要存在一个特征峰,为C-N-C(399.75 eV)。说明试品1#的芯棒无明显上述反应,与新试品的含氮物种类一致。而试品2#的N1s图谱与上述两支试品存在明显差异,其存在两个明显的特征峰,分别为C-N-C(399.75 eV)和NO3-(407.2 eV)。说明试品2#中有硝酸根存在,进一步证明了试品2#中发生了上述反应。
使用NOVA NANO SEM 230型扫描电子显微镜对两支试品的发热部分芯棒和护套部分进行微观形貌观察。图12给出了试品1#发热和未发热处芯棒的微观形貌。从图12可以看出,试品1#发热部位的芯棒微观形貌与未发热部位的芯棒相似,无明显劣化迹象。其纤维非常完整,且纤维与纤维之间通过环氧树脂连接,无明显裸露纤维。环氧树脂也较为完整地附着在纤维上面,无明显熔融和降解。
图13给出了试品1#异常发热和未发热部位护套的微观形貌。从图13可以看出,相较于未发热部位的护套,异常发热的高压端端部护套表面比较粗糙,出现越来越多的孔洞和较浅的微裂纹,同时有填料析出的颗粒物存在。说明高压端端部护套老化较未发热部分更为严重,憎水性降低。
图14是试品2#发热和未发热处芯棒的微观形貌。从图14可以看出,发热部位芯棒存在纤维表面蚀损、纤维断裂、环氧树脂基体严重降解破坏等现象,其中大部分区域纤维周边的环氧树脂基体烧蚀殆尽,但仍存在一部分区域环氧树脂基体碎屑依附在纤维表面。环氧树脂残留物上存在大量大小不均的气孔,其原因为环氧树脂基体在热解过程中产生气体形成气泡,随着气泡膨胀、破裂,变为气孔,如图14(d)所示。而未发热部分的芯棒,其纤维非常完整,且纤维与纤维之间通过环氧树脂连接,无明显裸露纤维,环氧树脂也较为完整地附着在纤维上面,无明显熔融和降解现象。
试品2#护套发热处硅橡胶的微观形貌如图15所示,可以看出其表面基本未见平整的区域,表面布满了粉化聚集成团的颗粒物,且出现较宽、较深的裂纹。
从SEM观测的结果来看,试品1#的芯棒无明显的劣化现象。相较试品2#的纤维断裂、裸露和环氧树脂熔化,试品1#的纤维非常完整,环氧树脂也无明显熔融和降解,该结果与上述热重分析、傅里叶红外光谱结果相吻合。而对于护套进行分析,发现发热部位的护套较其余部分老化更为严重,表面出现微孔隙和微裂痕现象。综上所述,试品1#的异常发热可能为护套老化引起,试品2#的异常发热可能为芯棒劣化引起。
复合绝缘子的温升功率来自于材料的介质损耗[20],单位体积介质中的损耗功率可表示为式(5)

式(5)中:E为电场强度;Jr为介质中的有功电流密度,其与介质中的无功电流密度Jc的比值为介质损耗因数,由式(6)表示。

式(7)中:E为电场强度;ω为角频率;ε0为真空介电常数,其值为8.854×10-12 F/m;εr为相对介电常数。
通过式(6)~(7)可知,有功电流密度与相对介电常数、介质损耗因数存在线性关系,有功电流密度随相对介电常数、介质损耗因数的增大而增大。将式(6)式(7)代入式(5),可得式(8)

在50 Hz工频电压作用下,角频率一定,损耗功率与相对介电常数、介质损耗因数成正比。因此需对两支试品的相对介电常数、介质损耗因数进行进一步分析。
在两支绝缘子试品异常发热部位和未发热部位进行取样,并将新试品作为对照组。通过介电常数测试仪和介损测试仪对干燥试样以及高湿环境吸湿后的试样各部位材料进行测试,结果如表24所示。
表2可知,对于新试品,由于其护套具有较好的憎水性,在高湿情况下其介电常数和介质损耗因数变化较小;而芯棒在护套的“保护”下,几乎不与水分子接触,因此在干燥和高湿情况下,芯棒的介电特性无明显变化。
表3可知,对于试品1#,护套异常发热部位的介电常数和介质损耗因数均高于未发热部位;而未发热部位的介电特性接近但稍大于新试品,其原因为长时间工作,护套有些许老化现象。经过吸湿后,异常发热部位的电气参数变化范围远大于正常部位,其中相对介电常数是吸湿前的1.5倍,介质损耗因数是吸湿前的5.37倍。结合上述的SEM结果分析,异常发热部位的护套老化更加严重,表面出现微孔和微裂纹等缺陷。这些微缺陷为水分侵入提供了方便的通道,水分子作为一种高极性介质,其相对介电常数为81,远大于硅橡胶的相对介电常数。因此,水分的侵入增大了护套的相对介电常数和介质损耗因数,进而增大了护套的极化损耗,最终导致复合绝缘子端部异常发热。
同时观察试品1#芯棒的介电性能可知,异常发热部位和未发热部位的介电性能大致相同,经过吸湿处理后,其介电性能也未发生明显变化,与新试品的介电特性相似。其原因为试品1#的护套对芯棒具有良好的包裹性,水分只存在于护套表层部分,不容易进入芯棒。
综上所述,试品1#异常发热的原因为高湿环境下,高压端端部护套老化导致水分侵入,增大了护套的相对介电常数和介质损耗因数,最终导致复合绝缘子处于交流高场强的端部出现异常发热现象。
表4可知,对于试品2#,无论护套或是芯棒,异常发热部位的介电常数和介质损耗因数均高于未发热部位,其中异常发热部位芯棒的相对介电常数是正常部位的3.67倍,介质损耗因数是正常部位的79.4倍。环氧树脂的缺损和玻璃纤维的断裂使得芯棒整体的介电常数分布不均匀,进而影响电场的分布,使得局部场强集中,发生局部放电现象。同时根据式(8)可得,相对介电常数和介质损耗因数增加,将导致极化损耗的增加,进而造成局部异常温升。由于试品2#的电气参数变化较试品1#更大,试品2#的异常温升值也大于试品1#
试品2#的护套表面局部发生开裂现象,对芯棒的包裹性降低,使得水分不仅能够侵入护套,也能侵入芯棒之中,因此吸湿后异常发热部位芯棒的相关参数较干燥情况明显增加,相对介电常数为正常部位的4.33倍,介质损耗因数为正常部位的373倍。相关参数数值的增大,使得极化损耗增大,最终导致温升值增大。
综上所述,试品2#异常发热的原因为芯棒劣化,而在水分的作用下复合绝缘子异常发热的程度将增大。
(1)两支复合绝缘子的异常发热由不同原因引起。在干燥与高湿环境下均发热的复合绝缘子,其芯棒有明显的劣化现象;而在干燥条件下不发热、高湿环境下异常发热的复合绝缘子,其芯棒无明显的劣化痕迹。
(2)两支异常发热的复合绝缘子,其温升与相对介电常数、介质损耗因数有关。相对介电常数和介质损耗因数增大,导致极化损耗增大,进而引起异常温升。
(3)复合绝缘子芯棒的劣化过程与环氧树脂发生氧化分解有关,分解形成的CO2和H2O在环氧树脂表面留下孔洞。同时,空气中的N2与O2在局部放电情况下生成NO2,并与H2O反应生成具有腐蚀性的硝酸根离子,进一步导致芯棒的劣化,使芯棒相对介电常数和介质损耗因数增大。
(4)只在高湿环境下异常发热的复合绝缘子,其芯棒微观形貌以及元素、官能团含量均与正常复合绝缘子相同,无明显劣化现象,但高压端端部护套较其余部分老化更为严重,其异常发热原因为硅橡胶受潮后介电常数增大,导致其电场畸变,进而使得极化损耗增加,造成端部异常发热。
