In this paper, a novel semi-interpenetrating network material PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA) was synthesized by free radical polymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), butylacrylate (BA), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), and host-guest interaction complex which was synthesized by recognition and free radical copolymerization using cyclodextrin modified aluminium oxide nanoparticles (CD-Al2O3NPS) as host molecules and acrylate containing adamantane as guest molecules. The microstructure and properties of PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA) were characterized and tested. The results show that the material has self-repairing property by the interaction of host and guest materials. And the introduction of two reversible non-covalent interactions host-guest interaction and hydrogen bond gives the material excellent shape memory function. With the shape memory and self-repair capability, the material can repair by itself and recover the original property when the distance between the two sections of the crack is large. In addition, PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA) has good thermal stability and can be used at 200℃ in high temperature environment.

以环糊精修饰的氧化铝纳米粒子(CD-Al2O3 NPs)为主体分子,以含金刚烷的丙烯酸酯为客体分子,通过主、客体相互识别自组装生成包合物后与2-羟基乙基-甲基丙烯酸酯(HEMA)、丙烯酸丁酯(BA)和聚乙烯吡咯烷酮(PVP)进行自由基共聚得到了一种新型的PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料,对其微观形貌和性能进行表征和检测。结果表明:通过主客体包合作用赋与了材料自修复性能;同时,由于引入了主客体包合和氢键两种可逆的非共价相互作用,材料具有优异的形状记忆功能。材料具备的形状记忆功能和自修复性能可在裂纹的两个断面距离较大时实现自修复,恢复材料的原有性能。此外,PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)还具有较好的热稳定性,耐受温度达到200℃,能够在较高温度环境中使用。

以环糊精修饰的氧化铝纳米粒子(CD-Al2O3 NPs)为主体分子,以含金刚烷的丙烯酸酯为客体分子,通过主、客体相互识别自组装生成包合物后与2-羟基乙基-甲基丙烯酸酯(HEMA)、丙烯酸丁酯(BA)和聚乙烯吡咯烷酮(PVP)进行自由基共聚得到了一种新型的PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料,对其微观形貌和性能进行表征和检测。结果表明:通过主客体包合作用赋与了材料自修复性能;同时,由于引入了主客体包合和氢键两种可逆的非共价相互作用,材料具有优异的形状记忆功能。材料具备的形状记忆功能和自修复性能可在裂纹的两个断面距离较大时实现自修复,恢复材料的原有性能。此外,PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)还具有较好的热稳定性,耐受温度达到200℃,能够在较高温度环境中使用。

In this paper, a novel semi-interpenetrating network material PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA) was synthesized by free radical polymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), butylacrylate (BA), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), and host-guest interaction complex which was synthesized by recognition and free radical copolymerization using cyclodextrin modified aluminium oxide nanoparticles (CD-Al2O3NPS) as host molecules and acrylate containing adamantane as guest molecules. The microstructure and properties of PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA) were characterized and tested. The results show that the material has self-repairing property by the interaction of host and guest materials. And the introduction of two reversible non-covalent interactions host-guest interaction and hydrogen bond gives the material excellent shape memory function. With the shape memory and self-repair capability, the material can repair by itself and recover the original property when the distance between the two sections of the crack is large. In addition, PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA) has good thermal stability and can be used at 200℃ in high temperature environment.

电缆绝缘护套处于电缆最外层,起着绝缘和保护主绝缘的作用,是电缆最容易受到外力、外界因素影响的部分。在外力、外界因素的作用下,电缆绝缘护套会产生裂纹等损伤,造成其力学、电气性能大幅下降,逐渐失效。对电缆绝缘护套进行修复可以恢复材料的力学、电气性能,现有的常规修复方法有采用热风焊、热缩管、修复液罐装等,但这些修复方法不具备自修复性,需要依靠故障定位技术查找到故障点才能进行修复。然而,电缆线路长、敷设方式复杂,现有故障定位技术精确度有限,准确查找故障点的难度较大,此外,修复前还需挖开覆土、拆线、停电,需要耗费大量的人力、物力,影响正常生产,因此,急需研发一种具备自修复性能的新材料,以解决现有技术需依靠故障定位技术、需停电的难题。
自修复又称自愈合,是一种无需外力作用,材料自身对裂纹等缺陷进行自我修复的能力[1]。自修复技术根据自修复机理分为含修复剂(也称填充型)和不含修复剂(也称本征型)两种。含修复剂的自修复技术通过中空纤维[2-3]、微胶囊[4-6]、微脉管[7-8]等载体将修复剂包覆然后植入到材料中,当材料产生裂纹等损伤时,裂纹造成载体破裂而释放出修复剂,在体系内催化剂的作用下单体发生聚合,填补裂纹实现自修复,优点是可自主修复并且位点专一,但修复剂一次性释放,不能实现多次修复。不含修复剂的自修复技术需要材料本身可以在机械损伤后重新生成共价键或发生超分子的非共价键连接。其中,动态共价键自修复是在材料中引入可逆性动态化学键达到自修复目的,可实现多次自修复,但动态共价键自修复需要热[9]、光照[10]和特定pH值[11]等条件激发;非共价键自修复材料体系中含有大量非共价键的超分子作用力如氢键[12-13]、静电相互作用、π-π作用[14]、金属配位[15]和拓扑结构[16]等,通过这些相互作用力可以实现自修复,但非共价键自修复技术同样需要外界条件激发才能实现自修复。基于此,有必要开发一种无需外界刺激而自主修复的材料;此外,分子间相互作用力需要在相互接触的情况下才能实现自修复,因此需对自修复材料进行特定改性。

氧化铝纳米粒子(Al2O3 NPs,粒径为30nm,α相)、乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯(EGDMA)、2-羟基乙基-甲基丙烯酸酯(HEMA)、偶氮二异丁腈(AIBN)、金刚烷甲酸(Ad-COOH)、3-氨丙基三乙氧基硅烷(APTES)、聚乙烯吡咯烷酮(PVP)、乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯(EGDMA)、对甲苯磺酰氯、偶氮二异丁腈,均为分析纯,阿拉丁(上海)试剂有限公司;β-环糊精(β-CD)、丙烯酸丁酯(BA)、二氯亚砜、碳酸氢钠、碳酸氢钠、盐酸、无水硫酸钠、氯化铵、乙醇,均为分析纯,成都科龙化学试剂厂。
TGL-20M型台式高速冷冻离心机,湖南赛特湘仪离心机仪器有限公司;DZF-6020型真空干燥箱,上海齐欣科学仪器有限公司;Avance Bruker-600型核磁共振波谱仪,德国Bruker公司;VHX-1000C型超景深三维显微镜,日本KEYENCE公司;Nicolet 560型傅里叶变换红外光谱仪,赛默飞世尔科技公司;AG-10TA型电子万能材料试验机,日本岛津公司;ST2643型体积电阻测试仪,苏州晶格电子有限公司;R-201型旋转蒸发器,上海申顺生物科技有限公司。
将12.76 mmoL金刚烷甲酸溶于50 mL二氯亚砜溶液中,在90℃条件下反应5 h,采用旋转蒸发器将多余的二氯亚砜蒸干得到金刚烷酰氯。接着在0℃条件下,将1 mL HEMA 和1.6 mL三乙胺溶解于100 mL二氯甲烷中,缓慢滴加由30 mL二氯甲烷溶解的金刚烷酰氯,反应12~24 h后,依次采用 1 mol/L盐酸溶液、1 mol/L碳酸氢钠和去离子水洗涤生成产物,加入无水硫酸钠中和至不再有块状固体出现,蒸发掉多余溶剂即获得客体分子金刚烷丙烯酸酯,记为HEMA-Ad。
将44.05 mmoL β-CD分散在1 200 mL除盐水中,缓慢加入13 g对甲苯磺酰氯,在高速搅拌下反应24 h,加入20 g NaOH,过滤除去多余的对甲苯磺酰氯,再加入氯化铵将溶液pH值调节至8,将溶液放置在4℃的冰箱里保持12 h,低温下抽滤获得白色沉淀产物,再将白色沉淀产物溶解于除盐水重结晶两次后获得环糊精对甲苯磺酰氯(TOS-CD)。
采用APTES与Al2O3 NPs反应得到NH2-Al2O3 NPs,将0.5 g NH2-Al2O3 NPs溶解在25 mL的二甲基亚砜中,加入8 g TOS-CD,当TOS-CD完全溶解后,采用1 mol/L的稀盐酸将溶液pH调节至7~8,在65℃下通入氩气反应12 h,通过高速冷冻离心机除去二甲基亚砜溶剂后,用乙醇洗涤3次,蒸发掉溶剂后获得CD-Al2O3 NPs。主体分子的制备路线如图1所示。
将0.3 g CD-Al2O3 NPs 分散在3 mL二甲基甲酰胺中,并超声30 min,再加入0.6 g HEMA-Ad并搅拌24 h生成主客体包合物;然后依次加入聚乙烯吡咯烷酮(PVP)0.66 g、2-羟基乙基-甲基丙烯酸酯(HEMA)0.5mL、丙烯酸丁酯(BA)2.37mL和交联剂乙二醇二甲基丙烯酸酯(EGDMA)1 μL,搅拌一段时间后加入10 mg引发剂偶氮二异丁氰(AIBN),在75℃下主客体包合物、聚乙烯吡咯烷酮、丙烯酸丁酯在交联剂、引发剂作用下发生共聚反应,当体系黏度增大时停止搅拌并继续反应10 h,最后将得到的材料放置在真空烘箱中除去溶剂后获得具有形状记忆功能的自修复电缆绝缘护套材料(即PVP/ p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料)。
为了选择最佳的配方,按表1的配方合成6种材料,其中样品1、2、3、4的主要区别是交联剂EGDMA的含量不同,用于研究不同交联剂对力学性能的影响。而样品5、6为对照样,样品5的合成配方中没有加入主体分子CD-Al2O3NPs,而样品6中没有加入PVP,主要用于研究主客体分子包合作用力及氢键作用力在自修复形状记忆中的作用。
客体分子的核磁氢谱(1H NMR)表征结果如图2(a)所示。图2(a)中,峰a1和峰a2分别代表HEMA共价键上的H原子,峰a1和峰a2的面积积分比为1∶0.98,约为1∶1,与共价键上实际的H原子个数比例一致;峰c和峰d对应酯键附近的亚甲基H原子,峰c和峰d的面积积分比为1.96∶1.86,约为1∶1,与亚甲基键上实际的H原子个数比例一致,说明有酯键生成;峰e对应金刚烷上的e位亚甲基H原子,其与HEMA上a处的H原子面积积分比为6∶1,刚好符合HEMA-Ad对应氢的个数比,说明产物成功制备。
进一步采用核磁碳谱(13C NMR)表征,结果如图2(b)所示。图2(b)中,峰g和峰d分别对应HEMA-Ad的两个羰基碳原子,峰b和峰a对应共价键上的两个碳原子,峰f和峰e对应-OCH2CH2O-上的两个碳原子,峰k、i、h、j分别对应金刚烷上的4类碳原子,峰c对应客体分子c处的甲基,综合以上分析,说明客体分子HEMA-Ad合成成功。采用质谱仪分析客体分子分子量为315.26 g/mol,分子量与理论值一致,进一步佐证该化合物合成成功。
主体分子的核磁氢谱(1HNMR)表征结果见图3(a)图3(a)中,峰a为与苯环连接的甲基吸收峰,OH(6)&O(6)H处是与环糊精上6号位相连的羟基氢共振峰,(C(1)H)处是环糊精1号位碳原子上的氢共振峰,OH(2)&OH(3)处是2号位碳原子和3号位碳原子连接的羟基氢峰,而b、c处的两组峰为对甲苯磺酰氯上苯环的吸收峰,由于与环糊精相连,化学位移向低场方向发生了移动。(C(1)H)处是环糊精1号位碳原子上H原子峰的积分面积和c处对甲苯磺酰氯上苯环H原子峰的积分面积为7∶2,满足理论上对应H原子的个数比,表明化合物合成成功。
进一步采用核磁碳谱(13C NMR)表征,结果如图3(b)所示。图3(b)中b、c、d、e处的4组峰对应对甲苯磺酰氯上苯环上4个化学环境不同的碳原子,峰a为与苯环相连的甲基上的碳原子峰,峰C(1)、C(2,3,5)、C(4)、C(6)是环糊精的信号峰,同样能证明该产物合成成功。采用质量谱仪分析主体分子的分子量为1322 g/mol,分子量与理论值一致,进一步佐证该化合物合成成功。
图4是Al2O3 NPs、CD-Al2O3 NPs和TOS-CD的红外谱图。CD-Al2O3 NPs的红外谱图与Al2O3 NPs相比,在波数为1 038、1 149、1 490 cm-1处新增的3组特征峰分别代表环糊精上C-O-C的伸缩振动峰(νC-O-C)、C-O-C的弯曲振动峰(δC-O-C)和酰胺基团上NH的弯曲振动峰(δNH)。另外,和TOS-CD的红外谱图相比,苯环上C=C的伸缩振动峰(波数为1 369 cm-1和1 419 cm-1)并没有在CD-Al2O3 NPs的红外谱图上出现,上述分析表明Al2O3 NPs上成功地修饰了环糊精。
此外,为了证明Al2O3 NPs上成功修饰上了环糊精,同时得出Al2O3 NPs表面CD的接枝量,对Al2O3-NPs、NH2-Al2O3 NPs、CD-Al2O3 NPs进行热失重分析,结果如图5所示。从图5可以看出,从50℃到800℃,Al2O3 NPs失重0.21%,NH2-Al2O3 NPs失重5.71%,CD-Al2O3 NPs失重24.35%,表明Al2O3 NPs与NH2-Al2O3 NPs没有修饰环糊精(CD),而CD-Al2O3 NPs与NH2-Al2O3 NPs相比热失重的差值为18.64%,可计算出每个纳米粒子上修饰了3 710个环糊精。
为了证明PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料合成成功,通过聚乙烯吡咯烷酮上的羰基与羟基形成的氢键进行表征,使用红外光谱(AIR模式)来表征PVP与PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料(样品3),结果如图6所示。
图6可以看出,PVP在2 923、1 655、1 428、1 285 cm-1处的峰分别表示O-H、C=O、CH2、C-N基团。与PVP谱图相比,在PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料的谱图中C=O的伸缩振动峰波数从1 655 cm-1上升至1 663 cm-1,表明材料中羰基和羟基具有氢键作用。
另外,本研究还通过二维红外测试证明PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料中具有环糊精和金刚烷的主客体相互作用,测试结果如图7所示。图7(a)和(b)中1 161 cm-1和1 082 cm-1处分别对应环糊精上C-O-C的弯曲振动峰和C-C与C-O键的偶合振动峰,而1 161 cm-1处是金刚烷上CH2的弯曲振动峰,同时,环糊精和金刚烷特征峰在图中对角线两边成对出现,表明两者之间有明显的相关信号,说明金刚烷和环糊精之间存在主客体相互作用。
为了观察CD-Al2O3 NPs在材料中的分布情况,对PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料(样品3)进行了微观形貌表征,结果如图8所示。从图8可以看出,CD-Al2O3 NPs在基体中分布比较均匀,没有发生较大的团聚和粘连。
通过动态热机械分析(DMA)得到PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料的tanδ曲线,如图9所示,该曲线的顶点温度可以表示材料的玻璃化转变温度(Tg)。
图9可以看出,样品2、3、4的玻璃化转变温度分别为78、81、95℃,他们的交联剂加入量分别为0.5、1.0、2.0 μL,由此可见,样品的玻璃化转变温度随着交联剂加入量的增加而上升,说明交联剂越多则交联点越多,从而限制了材料的链段运动,降低材料形变能力。同时3组样品都有很宽的玻璃化转变温度范围,其中样品3的玻璃化转变温度范围20~140℃,这是由于金刚烷和环糊精的主客体相互作用与氢键两种相互作用力使材料发生微相分离,而其中的微相由于链的运动不同具有不同的玻璃化转变温度,从而在整体上构成了一个很宽的玻璃化转变温度变化范围。半互穿网络材料的储能模量-温度曲线如图10所示。从图10可以看出,在20℃时样品2、3、4的储能模量随着交联剂的增大而增大,分别是308、399、432 MPa,温度上升时,储能模量会有一个快速下降的过程,达到90℃时,3种材料的储能模量相差不大。以上分析表明交联量的加入量越大,在常温下会提高材料的机械强度,但也会降低材料的弹性,综合考虑两方面因素,以样品3的配方方案最佳,即交联剂加入量为1 μL。
通过万能试验机对样品3进行拉伸强度和断裂伸长率测试,结果如图11所示。从图11可以看出,样品3的拉伸强度为11.0 MPa,断裂伸长率为590%。
使用热失重分析(TGA)测定样品3材料的耐受温度,结果如图12所示。从图12可以看出,材料在257℃之前不会有明显的失重,失重率为5%,当温度高于257℃时,材料开始分解,而温度达到402℃时,分解基本停止,此时,剩余的物质为Al2O3 NPs,其质量分数为16.7%,表明Al2O3 NPs在聚合物中的百分比含量为16.7%,可见PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料的耐受温度为达到200℃以上。普通电缆绝缘护套材料一般采用PE或者PVC材料,其分解温度为100℃左右,由此可见,相对于普通的电缆绝缘护套材料,半互穿网络材料具有良好的热力学性能。
半互穿网络材料可以在室温下显示出湿度响应形状记忆效应。将样品3由直线变形为“C”形,在相对湿度为100%的室温环境中,观察样品的形变恢复情况,如图13所示。从图13可以看出,放置2 h后,形变恢复率达到98%。
在PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料中的化学交联点在水中稳定,因此在湿度响应形状记忆过程中作为固定相来影响形状恢复,而PVP和 p(HEMA-co-BA)形成氢键作为可逆相来固定形状。为了验证这一理论,通过对比不含交联剂的样品1、样品5与含交联剂的样品2~4的湿度响应形状记忆效应,各自的形状固定率和形状恢复率结果见表2。从表2可以看出,不含交联剂的样品1的形状恢复率最低,随着交联剂的增加,样品的形状恢复率逐渐升高,表明半互穿网络材料中的化学交联点在形状恢复中起关键作用。此外,没有PVP的样品6不能固定临时形状(固定率为0),表明氢键在构成可逆相并固定形状中起关键作用,即形状记忆。
采用超高电阻测试仪测定样品3的体积电阻率,结果如表3所示,计算得到其体积电阻率的平均值为1.15×109 Ω·m,表明半互穿网络材料具有较高的绝缘性能,可作为电缆材料使用。
上述实验结果表明PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)半互穿网络材料具有良好的湿度响应形状记忆性能,为此,本研究尝试将材料放置在相对湿度较高的环境下通过湿度响应的形状记忆性能来使材料伤口上的两个断面相互接触,然后实现自修复。图14为半互穿网络材料的自修复过程。
图14(a)可以看出,将PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA) 半互穿网络材料破坏后固定成V字形(热固定和湿度固定均可)后,由于伤口过宽,两个断面无法相互接触。然后将材料放置在相对湿度为100%的保干器中,可以观察到3 h后材料恢复到初始形状,伤口的断面可以相互接触。16 h后,可以观察到材料基本上已经自修复。通过3D超景深显微镜可以更加直观地观察到材料的自修复情况,如图14(b)所示。
为了证明PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)材料自修复性能来自于环糊精和金刚烷主客体的包合。设计了3组对照实验:①对不含主体分子样品5进行自修复检测,结果表明材料无自修复效果,见图15(a);②对不含PVP样品6进行自修复检测,结果表明材料能实现自修复,此时,材料只有主客体分子而不含氢键相互作用,表明自修复来自于主客体包合作用,见图15(b);③将样品3切开后在断面涂抹环糊精饱和溶液,进行自修复检测,结果材料不能实现自修复,见图15(c)
图15(a)15(b)这两组实验说明半互穿网络材料实现自修复并不是依靠PVP羰基和p(HEMA-co-BA)上的羟基之间的氢键相互作用,而是依靠环糊精和金刚烷之间的主客体相互作用,且PVP与自修复不相关,只与形状记忆相关。图15(c)的实验中材料不能自修复,其原因是水中环糊精会作为竞争主体分子与断面处的金刚烷客体分子发生包合,因而导致材料切口断面上的主客体分子无法实现包合作用而不能自修复,从另一个侧面证明起自修复作用的是主客体分子的包合作用。
(1)PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)具有较好的热稳定性,耐受温度可以达到200℃;PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA)具有较好的拉伸性能和弹性,拉伸强度为11 MPa,断裂伸长率达到590%。
(2)通过对照实验证明材料具有自修复性能是因为材料中存在主客体相互作用,更为重要的是材料本身内部除了化学交联外,还引入了主客体分子包合和氢键两种可逆的非共价相互作用,这使得材料具有优异的形状记忆功能。
(3)本文研发的具有形状记忆功能自修复电缆绝缘护套材料(PVP/p(HEMA-co-BA))与现有含修复剂的自修复材料相比,优势在于半互穿网络材料能够进行多次自修复,而含修复剂的自修复材料只能单次修复。与动态共价键自修复材料相比,优势在于动态共价键自修复材料需外界条件刺激才能自修复,而半互穿网络材料无需外界条件刺激就能实现自修复。与非共价键的超分子自修复材料相比,优势在于:①非共价键的超分子自修复材料需外界条件刺激才能自修复,而半互穿网络材料无需外界条件刺激就能实现自修复;②主客体分子本身不带电荷,对材料的绝缘性能无影响,而静电相互作用由于带电荷对材料绝缘的性能有影响。
(4)现有自修复材料只有裂纹断面相接触的情况才能实现自修复,而半互穿网络材料具有形状记忆性能,可以通过形状记忆恢复到断面相互接触的状态,使材料进行自修复。
