Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) submarine cable is a key transmission equipment in flexible low-frequency transmission scenarios such as medium and long-distance island transmission and offshore wind-solar new energy power generation. In this paper, XLPE insulated cable was conducted electrothermal ageing tests under low frequency voltage, and the effects of ageing voltage frequency on the electrical properties, mechanical properties, and micro-structure of XLPE insulation were studied. The results show that when the ageing voltage frequency is 10-50 Hz, the AC electric strength, volume resistivity, and elongation at break of XLPE ageing samples increase at first and then decrease with the increase of ageing voltage frequency. The electrical properties of XLPE samples aged under 20 Hz and 30 Hz of voltages are better than those aged under other voltage frequencies. The change trend of crystallinity of XLPE ageing samples with ageing voltage frequency is consistent with the electrical properties. The thermal ageing at lower voltage frequency contributes to the recrystallization of XLPE insulating materials, while the thermal ageing at higher voltage frequency will damage the crystalline structure of the material and increase the proportion of amorphous regions. The research results can provide a reference for the applicability of XLPE insulated cables in low frequency transmission technology.

交联聚乙烯(XLPE)海底电缆是中远距离岛屿输电、海上风光新能源发电等柔性低频输电场景中的关键输电装备。本文在低频电压下对XLPE绝缘电缆进行电热联合老化试验,研究老化电压频率对XLPE绝缘电气性能、力学性能和微观结构的影响。结果表明:老化电压频率为10~50 Hz时,XLPE老化试样的交流电气强度、体积电阻率、断裂伸长率随着老化电压频率的增大先升高后降低,经频率为20 Hz、30 Hz电压老化的XLPE试样电气性能优于其他频率电压老化的试样。XLPE老化试样的结晶度随老化电压频率的变化趋势与电气性能一致,较低电压频率下的热老化有助于XLPE绝缘材料重结晶,而较高电压频率下的热老化则会破坏材料的晶区结构,增大材料非晶区的比例。研究结果可为低频输电技术中XLPE绝缘电缆的适用性提供参考。

交联聚乙烯(XLPE)海底电缆是中远距离岛屿输电、海上风光新能源发电等柔性低频输电场景中的关键输电装备。本文在低频电压下对XLPE绝缘电缆进行电热联合老化试验,研究老化电压频率对XLPE绝缘电气性能、力学性能和微观结构的影响。结果表明:老化电压频率为10~50 Hz时,XLPE老化试样的交流电气强度、体积电阻率、断裂伸长率随着老化电压频率的增大先升高后降低,经频率为20 Hz、30 Hz电压老化的XLPE试样电气性能优于其他频率电压老化的试样。XLPE老化试样的结晶度随老化电压频率的变化趋势与电气性能一致,较低电压频率下的热老化有助于XLPE绝缘材料重结晶,而较高电压频率下的热老化则会破坏材料的晶区结构,增大材料非晶区的比例。研究结果可为低频输电技术中XLPE绝缘电缆的适用性提供参考。

Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) submarine cable is a key transmission equipment in flexible low-frequency transmission scenarios such as medium and long-distance island transmission and offshore wind-solar new energy power generation. In this paper, XLPE insulated cable was conducted electrothermal ageing tests under low frequency voltage, and the effects of ageing voltage frequency on the electrical properties, mechanical properties, and micro-structure of XLPE insulation were studied. The results show that when the ageing voltage frequency is 10-50 Hz, the AC electric strength, volume resistivity, and elongation at break of XLPE ageing samples increase at first and then decrease with the increase of ageing voltage frequency. The electrical properties of XLPE samples aged under 20 Hz and 30 Hz of voltages are better than those aged under other voltage frequencies. The change trend of crystallinity of XLPE ageing samples with ageing voltage frequency is consistent with the electrical properties. The thermal ageing at lower voltage frequency contributes to the recrystallization of XLPE insulating materials, while the thermal ageing at higher voltage frequency will damage the crystalline structure of the material and increase the proportion of amorphous regions. The research results can provide a reference for the applicability of XLPE insulated cables in low frequency transmission technology.

交联聚乙烯广泛应用于各种电压等级的交直流海陆电缆中,电压频率对电缆及其附件的绝缘性能至关重要。关于电压频率对交联聚乙烯绝缘电气性能、老化性能等的影响研究已有大量报道,F NOTO等[9]首次研究了电压频率对聚合物中电树枝的影响;C LAURENT等[10]研究了多种因素对聚合物中电树枝现象的影响,指出电压频率能够显著影响电树枝的生长;F GALLESI等[11]研究表明,电压幅值和频率都会影响电树枝的形态,进而影响击穿时间;LI Weiwei等[12]研究了插入针头的交联聚乙烯绝缘样品的击穿电压与施加电场频率的相关性,指出试样的最大击穿电压频率为240 Hz;WU Jiayang等[13]研究表明,随着电压频率从50 Hz增大到2 500 Hz,交联聚乙烯的电气强度逐渐降低;E GOCKENBACH等[14]研究表明,电缆交接试验频率下限延伸到20 Hz可使电缆绝缘的耐压水平提高;周远翔等[15]研究了电压频率对交联聚乙烯样片电老化特性的影响规律,认为电压频率降低会加剧XLPE的劣化。国内外研究机构还研究了50 Hz到数千Hz电压对交联聚乙烯起树电压、电树枝形态、电树枝生长特性的影响[16-22];刘云鹏等[23]研究表明,在20~50 Hz范围内,随着频率的降低,XLPE的起树电压略有升高,但电树枝生长速度加快,损伤面积、局部放电量和放电次数增大。
国内外关于电压频率对交联聚乙烯等电缆绝缘材料的影响研究主要集中在较高电压频段下电缆绝缘试样的电树枝产生和发展规律上,研究对象多为聚乙烯粒料直接制备的试样,且不同研究机构对较低频段电压下交联聚乙烯电缆的击穿特性变化规律尚未取得一致结论。此外,低频运行条件下,电压频率改变对XLPE绝缘整体的影响尚无深入研究。
电热联合加速老化试验能够较好地模拟电缆的实际运行工况,体现系统运行条件下电应力和热应力对XLPE绝缘的协同作用[24]。本文在柔性低频输电的频率范围内,采用低频电压源直接对交联聚乙烯绝缘电缆系统进行电热联合老化,分析不同老化电压频率对交联聚乙烯绝缘试样电气性能、力学性能和微观结构的影响规律,为低频运行条件下XLPE绝缘电缆的适用性提供试验和理论支撑。
采用图1所示低频电压老化试验平台开展老化试验。试验电缆为单芯8.7/15 kV铝导体XLPE绝缘电缆,导体截面为400 mm2,绝缘厚度为4.5 mm。将试验电缆组成的电热联合老化回路和模拟回路进行试验,对组成电热联合老化回路的电缆试样同时施加老化电压和电流,对模拟回路施加相同的电压和电流,用于两回路之间的温度对比和电流控制。试验电压为21.75 kV(2.5U0),老化电压频率为10、20、30、40、50 Hz,老化试验时间为720 h,每个循环试验周期为8 h。在每个循环试验周期内,首先对被测电缆导体施加工频感应电流,在前3 h内将导体温度由环境温度升至90~95℃,然后调节导体电流使导体温度保持在上述温度范围内2 h,最后切断试验电流并在至少3 h内使电缆温度自然冷却至环境温度。
使用车床及特制刀具对电热联合老化试验后的10 kV电缆XLPE绝缘层进行环切,得到宽度为80 mm、厚度为0.2 mm的样片,用于电气性能测试和微观结构检查,环切示意图及环切样片如图2所示。使用冲片机在完整的绝缘层上沿轴向平切并制得厚度为1 mm的哑铃状试样,用于力学性能测试。
电气强度测试电压频率为20 Hz和50 Hz,测试温度为30、50、70、90℃,击穿装置为浸没于可加热油浴箱中的球-板电极,球电极直径为14 mm;介电谱测试采用Concept 40型宽频介电谱仪,扫描频率为10~2×105 Hz,测试温度为30、50、70、90℃;体积电阻率测试采用KEITHLEY 6517B型高阻计在常温下进行,测量电压为直流400 V,测量时间为60 s。
力学性能测试采用ZBDW-10 kN型万能试验机在常温下进行,拉伸速度为250 mm/min。
FT-IR测试采用Nicolet iN10型傅里叶红外光谱仪,波数为4 000~500 cm⁻¹,扫描次数为32次。DSC测试采用梅特勒822e型差示扫描量热仪,在氮气气氛中将6 mg试样从30℃加热至150℃,再将试样从150℃降温至30℃,升降温速率为10℃/min;XRD测试采用XRD-7000型衍射仪,扫描速率为10°/min,步长为0.02°,扫描范围为15°~30°。
对未老化和电热联合老化XLPE试样的电气强度测试数据采用双参数威布尔分布概率累计函数进行处理,取击穿概率为63.2%时的击穿电压作为试样的击穿电压,得到不同老化电压频率XLPE试样在不同测试温度下的电气强度如图3所示。
结合图3(a)3(b)可知,从整体上看,相同老化电压频率下XLPE试样的电气强度随测试温度升高而减小,测试电压频率为20 Hz的试样电气强度明显高于测试电压频率为50 Hz的试样,这主要是低频电压下XLPE绝缘的起树电压升高所致[23]。老化电压频率对XLPE试样电气强度的影响是非线性的,随着老化电压频率的增大,试样的电气强度先升高后降低,经10 Hz电压老化的XLPE试样电气强度低于未老化试样,经20 Hz、30 Hz电压老化的XLPE试样电气强度明显高于其他频率电压老化的试样,且经20 Hz电压老化的试样电气强度最高,下文将进一步分析较低频率电压对XLPE绝缘老化特性的影响。
不同老化电压频率XLPE试样在不同测试温度下的介质损耗因数(tanδ)如图4所示。从图4可以看出,老化电压频率越高,XLPE试样的介质损耗因数越大,但测试频率大于103 Hz时,不同老化电压频率XLPE试样的介质损耗因数差别很小。
随着测试频率的降低,在低频(10~50 Hz)区域,XLPE试样的介质损耗因数迅速增大,这是由于XLPE的非晶区中存在自由体积,低频时分子链段或小分子极性副产物可在自由体积内缓慢迁移,形成松弛极化,促进极化损耗。此外,低频下电荷在界面处的积累与释放过程滞后于电场变化,亦会导致能量损耗[25-27]
常温下测得未老化和电热联合老化XLPE试样的交流体积电阻率如图5所示。由图5可知,随着老化电压频率的增大,试样的体积电阻率并非一直降低,经20 Hz、30 Hz电压老化的XLPE试样体积电阻率明显高于其他频率电压老化的试样,与试样电气强度随老化电压频率变化的趋势一致。这是由于XLPE的体积电阻率和电气强度之间存在正相关关系[28-29]
不同频率老化电压下XLPE试样的断裂伸长率如图6所示。由图6可知,随着老化电压频率由10 Hz增大到50 Hz,XLPE老化试样的断裂伸长率先增大后减小,经20 Hz电压老化的试样断裂伸长率最大。总体上,老化前后各试样的断裂伸长率及其分散性无显著变化。
XLPE试样的红外光谱分析结果如图7所示。由图7可知,所有试样均存在C-H的伸缩振动峰(2 916.1 cm-1和2 848.1 cm-1)以及CH2-的弯曲振动峰(1 467.3 cm-1和719.2 cm-1),验证了聚乙烯(PE)是XLPE材料的主要成分。
图7所示的光谱中在3 392.6 cm-1和1 645.2 cm-1处还分别出现羟基(O-H)伸缩振动峰和羰基(C=O)特征峰,表明试样的聚乙烯链中发生了氧化反应并生成羧基,羧基在氧化环境下衍生出醛类或酮类化合物等氧化分解产物[30-31],相应产物的峰值随着XLPE试样老化电压频率的增大而增大,表明试样的氧化反应增强[32],氧化产物的存在会导致试样中局部聚乙烯链微降解,进而使试样的宏观介电性能随老化电压频率的增大而下降。此外,经30、40、50 Hz电压老化的XLPE试样中C-H伸缩振动峰峰值也明显增大,这是由于在XLPE老化过程中,结构重组可能使原本被结晶区束缚的C-H键脱缚以及无定形区中分子链松散排列[33-34]
不同XLPE试样的DSC熔融、结晶曲线如图8所示,相应的熔融焓、结晶参数如表1所示。
图8表1可以看出,XLPE试样的熔融焓由未老化时的86.80 J/g下降至10 Hz电压老化后的86.53 J/g,这与材料的微观结构变化有关。当老化电压频率为20 Hz和30 Hz时,熔融焓和熔融温度较高,在较高老化电压频率(40 Hz、50 Hz)下,材料的结晶度降低,50 Hz时XLPE试样的熔融焓达到最低值,表明较高老化电压频率(50 Hz)下XLPE的老化效应比较低老化电压频率(20 Hz、30 Hz)下大。
图8表1还可以看出,XLPE试样的结晶度、熔融温度随老化电压频率增大整体上呈先升高后降低的趋势。在低频电场下,分子链有更多时间进行缓慢运动与重排,导致分子链运动增加,而分子链运动的进一步增加会引入更多缺陷,从而降低了试样中分子结晶的有序度[35];此外,低频电场还可能引起PE的交联网络松弛。相比之下,在较高老化电压频率(如40 Hz、50 Hz)下,分子没有充分时间进行重排,作用在材料上的物理因素(如电场、热累积等)变化太快,难以引起长期结构变化。同时电压频率的升高虽可促使XLPE分子链段形成部分取向,但结晶区可能被破坏。上述作用互相影响导致了XLPE试样的结晶度、熔融温度整体上随着老化电压频率增大而先升高后降低。
综上所述,电热联合老化对XLPE绝缘电缆的热性能有一定影响,老化电压频率为20 Hz时,熔融焓和熔融温度分别出现极高值,在较高频率条件(如40 Hz、50 Hz)下,材料的结晶度降低。
不同XLPE试样的XRD谱图如图9所示,图中的两个主要衍射峰分别对应于聚乙烯晶体(110)晶面(21.575°)和(200)晶面(23.858°)的特征反射。通过XRD曲线上各衍射峰的面积总和与整个曲线面积的积分比值可以计算试样的结晶度[36-37],结果如表2所示。
图9表2可知,XLPE材料的结晶度随老化电压频率的变化呈现出非线性变化规律,与DSC得到的结晶度变化趋势相一致。XLPE试样的结晶度先由未老化时的34.74%升高至10 Hz电压老化后的39.37%,表明一定频率的电压老化促进了分子链的移动并在晶区中重排。随着老化电压频率增大至20 Hz和30 Hz,XLPE试样的结晶度分别升高到41.86%和42.99%,这是因为较低频率的电压提供了长周期电场作用时间,使得XLPE材料中空间电荷更充分扩散,减少了电场畸变,为分子链重排提供稳定环境,分子链段有足够时间克服能垒,在晶格中重新排列,形成更加完善的结晶区[38-42]。当老化电压频率继续增大到40 Hz和50 Hz时,由于同一方向上电场维持时间变短,聚乙烯分子链在晶格中重排的时间不充分,难以引起材料结构变化,结晶可能被破坏,使得XLPE试样的结晶度相比较低频率时有所下降。
XLPE电缆绝缘经不同频率电压电热联合老化后,从总体上看,老化试样的介质损耗因数随着老化电压频率的增大而增大。从频率相关性上看,XLPE老化试样的电气强度并非随着老化电压频率的增大而单调降低,经20 Hz、30 Hz电压老化的XLPE试样电气强度明显高于其他频率电压老化的试样,且经20 Hz电压老化的试样电气强度最高。
从微观上看,XLPE老化试样的熔融焓、结晶度和熔融温度整体上随着老化电压频率的增大先升高后降低,经20 Hz、30 Hz电压老化的XLPE试样熔融焓和熔融温度高于10 Hz电压老化的试样,而经50 Hz电压老化的试样熔融焓和熔融温度小于较低电压频率老化的试样和未老化试样。这可能是由于较低老化电压频率(20 Hz、30 Hz)下,PE分子链有更多时间缓慢运动,有足够时间在晶格中重新排列,形成较完善的结晶区。而在较高老化电压频率(50 Hz)下,分子链没有充分时间进行重排,电场、热累积等因素难以引起材料结构变化,同时晶区的破坏或分子链的交联程度增加,降低了试样中交联聚乙烯分子结晶的有序度,对进一步的结晶行为有所抑制。
这种非单调的结晶度变化规律反映了老化电压频率对XLPE绝缘材料晶体结构重排的双重作用机制:即老化电压频率较低时,电热联合老化过程有助于晶区的扩展和结晶度的提升;老化电压频率较高时(工频相对于低频)则会增大材料非晶区比例或破坏材料现有晶区结构。在这种双重作用机制下,经较低频率老化电压作用的XLPE材料中分子链结构得以重排,晶区得到扩展,结晶度、熔融焓、熔融温度、电气强度升高;当老化电压频率逐渐升高到接近工频时,交变电场引入的热振动加剧,分子链运动增强,分子链重排时间变短,结晶有序度下降,导致晶区破坏或形成非晶区,最终结晶度、熔融焓、熔融温度、电气强度降低。综上所述,可以认为在某些特定频段(例如20~30 Hz)运行时,电缆的XLPE绝缘层长期处于热场和低频电场作用下,其内部PE分子结晶度的正向变化使其电气绝缘性能优于较高频段和较低频段。
上述双重作用机制下XLPE试样中PE分子的结晶度非单调变化规律亦体现在材料的拉伸性能上。在XLPE绝缘材料电热老化过程中,材料中的无定形区重排和结晶区形成相互制约着XLPE试样的整体力学性能,材料力学性能的劣化与增强现象同时发生。整体上材料的断裂伸长率随老化电压频率的变化趋势与材料电气性能的变化趋势相似。
在XLPE绝缘材料电热老化过程中,随着老化电压频率的增大,试样中的氧化反应增强,聚乙烯链降解,羧基在氧化环境下衍生的醛类或酮类化合物等氧化分解产物的含量增加,进而导致试样的介电性能下降。
总体而言,XLPE绝缘电缆在720 h的电热联合加速老化过程中,电场频率和相应的热累积效应使XLPE绝缘材料的结晶度等微观参数发生了变化,较低频率电压下的热老化有助于XLPE绝缘材料重结晶,电压频率较高时则会破坏材料晶区结构,增加材料非晶区比例,因此XLPE材料的电气、力学性能并非随老化电压频率增大而单调变化。低频下长期运行XLPE电缆的绝缘性能变化仍需进一步研究。
(1)XLPE试样的电气强度、体积电阻率随老化电压频率的变化趋势一致,整体上随着老化电压频率增大而先升高后降低,这与XLPE试样结晶度随老化电压频率的变化趋势一致。
(2)老化电压频率为10~50 Hz时,频率对XLPE材料晶体结构重排具有双重作用,频率较低时电热联合老化过程有助于晶区的扩展和结晶度的提升,频率较高时则会增大材料非晶区比例或破坏材料晶区结构。
(3)经频率为20 Hz、30 Hz电压老化的XLPE试样电气性能优于其他频率电压老化试样的电气性能。
