From the perspective of inorganic nanoparticles hybrid polyimide (PI), the research status of dielectric constant, conductivity, electric strength, and corona resistance of PI hybrid materials at home and abroad in recent years was reviewed and commented. The influence of different inorganic nanoparticles doping on the electrical properties of PI materials was expounded, the problems existing in the process of PI hybrid were analyzed, and the direction of PI hybrid materials can be further studied was prospected.

From the perspective of inorganic nanoparticles hybrid polyimide (PI), the research status of dielectric constant, conductivity, electric strength, and corona resistance of PI hybrid materials at home and abroad in recent years was reviewed and commented. The influence of different inorganic nanoparticles doping on the electrical properties of PI materials was expounded, the problems existing in the process of PI hybrid were analyzed, and the direction of PI hybrid materials can be further studied was prospected.

聚酰亚胺(PI)具有优异的耐热性和抗辐射性以及良好的力学性能和电学性能,广泛地应用于航天航空、机械化工、电子通讯等领域[1]。《“十三五”材料领域科技创新专项规划》和《“十四五”化工新材料产业发展的战略和任务》文件中将聚酰亚胺材料列为先进结构与复合材料的发展重点,PI材料成为了高新材料研究热点之一[2]。但传统的PI材料静电堆积效应较明显,材料间摩擦会产生较大静电压,限制了其在航天器的隔热包装材料以及电路板封装材料中的应用[3-4];PI结构中的刚性分子链排列高度有序且紧密,这种致密结构导致PI材料的介电性能表现出各向异性,限制了其在高性能电容器等领域的发展[5]。随着5G技术的发展,高频技术中的信号传输延迟、损耗和信号衰减等问题越来越凸显,对材料电学性能的要求也越来越高,其中新型聚酰亚胺电学材料也需要不断适应高频谱效率、高频化和大规模集成化的需求[6-7],故研发具有介电性能好、耐电击穿性能强和耐电晕性能优良的PI材料显得尤为重要。
近年各种无机纳米粒子改性PI材料的理论研究和应用探索越来越深入,PI具有与无机纳米材料良好的复合特性,把电阻率低、耐电晕性和热稳定性好的无机纳米粒子掺入PI基体能够改变界面的极化性和分子间的排列方式,并能有效地抑制PI空间电荷,拓展PI在芯片集成电路的封装材料、光电器件等领域的应用[8-9]。如何选择合适的无机纳米粒子来提高PI杂化材料的电学性能也成为了研究重点。目前用于PI掺杂改性的无机纳米粒子主要有以钛酸钡、二氧化钛为代表的钛系纳米粒子和以炭黑、碳纳米管为代表的碳系纳米粒子等。经钛系纳米粒子改性后PI材料的热稳定性、耐电晕性和介电性能较好,而经碳系纳米粒子改性后的PI材料在耐磨性、抗拉伸性和导电性等方面更占优势。本文以无机纳米粒子杂化PI材料为切入点,综述无机纳米粒子对PI材料介电常数、电导率、电气强度和耐电晕性等电学性能的影响,分析PI杂化材料存在的问题,提出未来PI杂化材料可深入研究的方向。
介电常数是衡量物质束缚电荷能力的重要参数,PI的介电常数通常为3.5左右,在印制电路板布线高密度化、电气信号传输高速度化的背景下,实现材料的低介电常数、低介质损耗是必要条件之一。纳米SiO2介电常数较低、性质稳定,掺杂后可扰乱PI基体中分子链的排布、增大分子间隙,能够降低PI材料的介电性能。ZHOU H等[10]将SiO2空心球(SHS)掺入PI基体中制备了PI/SHS杂化材料,发现SHS之间产生的间隙可将低介电常数的空气引入PI基体中,从而降低了杂化材料的介电常数;其次,表面积较大的SHS拥有较多的表面官能团,与PI基体间产生了较强的界面作用,致使杂化材料中极性基团的取向和弛豫受到限制,进一步降低PI的介电常数。当SHS的质量分数为10%时,杂化材料的介电常数最低可降至2.09。但SHS掺入量过多时易发生团聚,反而会导致PI的介电常数升高,因而确定最佳掺杂量或将成为今后SiO2纳米粒子改性PI介电性能研究的重点之一。
近年来随着超高压直流输电技术的发展,对PI材料介电性能的要求也越来越高,研究发现TiO2、BaTiO3等无机纳米粒子的掺入能够有效地抑制PI基体内的空间电荷,提高杂化材料的介电常数和绝缘性能[11],其中TiO2拥有较好的热稳定性、介电性能及光学性能,将其掺入PI基体可有效地提高PI材料的介电常数。ZHA J W等[12]制备了PI/TiO2复合膜,结果表明,TiO2的掺杂会增大PI膜整体的界面极化性,提高PI的介电常数,同时介电常数随着TiO2含量的增多而升高,但增大测量频率会影响纳米粒子与PI基体间的界面相互作用,降低了界面极化率,导致介电常数降低,说明介电常数对温度和测量频率表现出一定的依赖性,介电稳定性较差。PI材料被广泛应用于5G电路板和集成电路中,目前5G通讯商用测量频率在6 GHz以下,未来会增加到24 GHz以上,频率越高信号传输损耗就越大,信号完整性就越差。高频次通讯绝缘材料的介质损耗较大而易发热,导致介电常数不稳定,是造成信号传输损耗的主要因素之一。为了提高PI材料的介电稳定性,陈江聪等[13]将SiO2纳米粒子掺杂到PI/TiO2杂化薄膜中,发现SiO2和TiO2两种纳米粒子间易形成Si-O-Ti结构,SiO2含量越多,这种稳定结构数越多,纳米粒子的分散性就越好,能较好地降低杂化材料对测量频率的敏感度,提高杂化材料的介电稳定性,热稳定性也随之提高,当SiO2质量分数为6%时,杂化材料的介电常数非常稳定,且可升至4.4。
纳米BaTiO3是一种高介电材料,有较好的介电性能和铁电性能,但BaTiO3在掺杂过程中极易发生团聚,研究发现可通过添加分散剂、表面活性剂及偶联剂等对BaTiO3表面进行改性,以提高BaTiO3在PI基体内的分散度和界面相容性。WANG Y J等[14]采用2-磷酸丁烷-1,2,4-三羧酸(PBTCA)和TH-615丙烯酸-丙烯酸酯-酰胺共聚物分别对BaTiO3表面进行改性后掺入到PI基体,发现BaTiO3改性后能较好分散在PI基体中,在外加电场下的极化程度以及两相界面相容性均得到较好的改善,用质量分数为8%的PBTCA改性BaTiO3后掺杂到PI基体中制备PI/BaTiO3薄膜,其介电常数高达23.5;用质量分数为6%的TH-615丙烯酸-丙烯酸酯-酰胺共聚物改性BT后掺杂到PI基体中制备PI/BaTiO3薄膜,其介电常数也能达到20.3,由此可见如何选用无机纳米粒子表面处理剂是解决PI杂化材料团聚的重要方法之一。
电导率是描述物体内部电荷运动难易程度的重要参数,PI的电导率仅为10-14 S/m,在应用中的静电堆积问题非常明显[15]。许多研究常掺入金属纳米粒子、含碳纳米粒子等导电填料来提高PI材料的电导率,以金属银、铜为代表的金属纳米粒子耐磨性好、导电性强,但铜存在易氧化等缺陷,掺杂银来提高PI材料的电导率效果更好。T H L NGUYEN等[16]将高纵横比的银纳米线(AgNW)掺杂到PI基体中,制备了高导电的PI/AgNW杂化材料,当AgNW的体积分数为48%时,PI/AgNW杂化材料的电导率可提高至102 S/m,但温度高于50℃时,杂化材料的电导率与温度成(1/T1/4的函数关系,限制了PI材料在高温环境下的应用。为了进一步提高材料电导率的稳定性,有研究发现在PI材料表面电镀金属颗粒不仅能保留PI自身优良性能,还能提高其热稳定性、耐磨性和导电性,其中电镀时间是影响材料性能的关键因素。李红月等[17]在PI膜上化学镀铜制备了PI/Cu薄膜,发现PI杂化材料的电阻随着电镀时间的增加而减小,当电镀的处理时间为30 min时,材料的电阻为0.585 Ω,表现出良好的导电性,同时也在一定程度上解决了PI材料不耐高温的问题。
另外,含碳纳米粒子炭黑(CB)、碳纳米管(CNTs)也多用于改性PI材料的导电性等,其中CB是一种不定性碳,碳原子大多呈链状排列,其体积电阻率较小,导电性能好。翟宝清[18]制备了PI/纳米CB杂化材料,发现当CB的质量分数为6%时,杂化材料的导电性最好,但CB掺入量进一步增多极易出现团聚现象,会导致杂化材料的导电性下降。为了消除CB团聚对PI材料导电性的影响,GAO C等[19]制备了热塑性聚酰亚胺(TPI)/聚醚醚酮(PEEK)/CB杂化材料,发现随着CB填充量的增加,TPI/PEEK/CB共混物的形态结构由海岛结构向共连续结构转变,无机纳米粒子在基体内可均匀分散,不易发生团聚,TPI/PEEK/CB杂化材料的电导率是PEEK/CB和TPI/CB杂化材料的104~106倍,导电性能好。CNTs是碳原子以六角形排列形成的数层圆管,这些碳原子多为sp2杂化,其P轨道上的电子可形成大规模的离域π电子,导电性能好[20]。O K PARK等[21]制备了氮化硼(BN)-Fe-CNTs粒子,并将其掺入到PI基体中制备了PI/BN-Fe-CNTs杂化材料,发现BN-Fe-CNTs粒子在PI基体中能均匀分散,掺入粒子的质量分数为2%时,杂化材料的电导率为纯PI的106倍,BN-Fe-CNTs粒子可改变PI基体的热传导路径,进而提高杂化材料的耐热性。上述研究表明,金属纳米粒子和碳系纳米粒子在提高PI材料的导电性能方面效果较好,但热稳定性较差,易发生团聚现象,值得继续深入研究以拓宽其应用范围。
电气强度是衡量固体电介质自身耐电击穿性能的物理量,电气强度越大,耐电晕性也就越好,PI膜的电气强度约为310.10 MV/m。纳米MgO自身具备高硬度、高熔点等特点,掺入MgO能较好地提高PI聚合物的耐电击穿性能。范勇等[22]制备了 PI/MgO杂化材料,发现MgO的质量分数为4%时,PI杂化材料的电气强度强高达346.60 MV/m,随着MgO纳米粒子分布密度的进一步增大,会导致PI基体内电场分布不均匀,反而降低了PI材料的耐电击穿性能,分析认为MgO中的镁原子会催化PI分子结构氧化分解,MgO含量过多时会导致PI材料的热稳定性下降[23],这个问题严重影响了PI材料在电机领域的应用。
TiO2粒子除了能提高PI材料的介电性能,还能提高PI材料的耐电击穿性能,但在酰亚胺高温脱水过程中TiO2粒子易团聚,导致PI材料的耐电击穿性能下降。为此,LIU X X等[24]在PI/TiO2杂化材料的基础上掺入蒙脱土(MMT),制备了单层PI/TiO2/MMT(PTM)杂化材料,发现MMT的掺入能有效抑制TiO2颗粒的团聚,杂化材料的耐电击穿性能和热稳定性都得到了提高,MMT的质量分数为5%时,PTM杂化材料的电气强度是PI/TiO2材料的1.1倍。为了达到更好的改性效果,突破单层PI杂化材料的局限,LIU X X等[25]又制备了具有三明治结构(PI-TiO2/PI/PI-TiO2)的三层复合PI膜,利用夹层结构引入两个额外的界面,使三层复合膜的力学性能优于相同厚度的单层薄膜,当TiO2的质量分数为5%时,PI基体中的TiO2纳米粒子可以像“锚”一样限制PI基体的运动和变形,从而降低复合薄膜的拉伸强度,三层复合膜的电气强度最高可达到216.5 kV/mm,相比单层PI复合膜,提高了8%。通过在PI材料中合理地引入TiO2二维层状结构,不仅能够有效提高复合薄膜的耐电击穿性能,还能改善其热稳定性等综合性能,然而这种改性工艺流程较复杂,造价较高,如何简化制备流程、降低制作成本将是研究重点。
耐电晕性是衡量材料抗电晕老化的性能指标,材料的耐电晕性越好,越能有效处理变频电机中绝缘材料电老化过快和易击穿等问题,能更好地应用于高压发电机、高压电动机和脉宽调制系统等领域。传统PI材料的耐电晕时间约为8 min,无机纳米粒子的掺入能与PI基体间的界面态产生陷阱能级,增大材料的陷阱能级密度[26],这是因为电晕放电产生的电子易被陷阱能级捕获,被捕获的电子可形成空间电荷,对电晕放电电荷产生一定的阻碍作用;此外,具有更好耐电晕性的无机纳米粒子集中在PI基体表面能很好地抵御电晕放电,所以PI杂化材料的耐电晕性得到显著提高。
向聚合物中掺入金属氧化物可以提高基体材料的力学性能、磁性,特别是耐电晕性。张明玉等[27]研究了Al2O3纳米粒子对PI/Al2O3杂化材料耐电晕性的影响,认为Al2O3中Al-O键能较高,使杂化材料具有较好的抗氧化能力和热稳定性,能提高PI基体的陷阱密度,掺杂Al2O3后杂化材料的平均耐电晕时间提高到53 min,但杂化材料的力学性能会下降。李园园等[28]制备了PI/Al2O3/SiO2杂化材料,发现当纳米Al2O3质量分数为16%,纳米SiO2质量分数为0.5%时,杂化材料的耐电晕时间提高到378 min,纳米SiO2的掺入使Al2O3具有更好的分散性以及更少的结构缺陷,可最大程度地稳定PI基体的力学性能。在此基础上,有研究通过引入层状结构赋予PI更加优良的力学性能,杨瑞宵等[29]通过浸胶法制备了不同复合粒子含量的五层PI/Al2O3-SiO2杂化膜(AmAnPAnAm),P代表纯PI膜,膜两边的Am和An代表不同质量分数的Al2O3-SiO2复合粒子,中间纯PI膜自身优良的力学性能对复合膜产生一定的补强作用,研究发现A20A28PA28A20的力学性能最好,其拉伸强度和断裂伸长率分别为167 MPa和52%,同时电气强度达到最大,为302.3 kV/mm,耐电晕性也有一定程度的提高,这种五层杂化膜的设计可在改善力学性能的同时提高材料的耐电晕性和介电性能,为PI材料的研究提供了非常好的思路。
PI作为国家重点规划发展的高分子材料,如何提高PI电学性能和拓宽相关应用显得尤为重要,其中无机纳米粒子改性PI势必成为今后热门研究方向之一。无机纳米材料电阻率低、耐电晕性和热稳定性好,将其掺杂到PI基体中是改善PI电学性能的有效途径,但无机纳米粒子因高温发生团聚成为影响杂化材料性能的主要因素,因此如何减少其在酰亚胺高温过程中的团聚是制备高性能PI杂化材料的技术关键。表1从电学性能的角度整理了常用的无机纳米粒子杂化PI材料优势以及实际应用。
无机纳米粒子改性后的PI材料表现出优良的力学、热学、电学性能,进一步拓宽了其在航空航天、微电子、通信等高新领域的应用。但目前大部分研究仅针对单层PI杂化薄膜,对不同PI杂化材料之间的叠加后形成的复合薄膜材料的研究还不够深入,且多数PI杂化材料研究主要集中于无机纳米粒子的掺杂,对于有机纳米粒子的掺入研究相对较少,今后可从以下3个方面深入研究:
(1)深入开展有机纳米粒子掺杂PI的研究。可以选择合适的有机纳米粒子掺入PI基体中,如将含硫烷基以及噻吩基团的有机纳米粒子引入到PI主链,通过电双稳态效应,使得PI有机杂化材料展现出优良的记忆储存功能,为拓展PI材料在未来人工智能以及自动化工程等领域的应用提供可能。
(2)目前PI膜表面镀金属技术还不够成熟,可尝试深化PI膜表面镀金属的相关机理研究,改善PI薄膜镀金工艺,深入研究镀金工艺对PI材料电学性能的影响。另外,深入探索陷阱结构的深度、密度与杂化薄膜电晕老化寿命之间的关系,尝试将单层PI杂化膜制成多层复合膜,以期制备出综合电学性能更好的PI杂化材料。
(3)纳米填料的维度往往会对PI材料的性能产生影响,如一维填料(纳米棒、纳米线、纳米管)可提高PI材料的导电性,二维填料(纳米片)可改善PI材料的介电性能和热稳定性,具有壳核结构的三维填料则可缓解PI与介电填料之间介电常数差异过大引起失调的问题。为了丰富无机纳米粒子的分布形式,可深入研究不同维度纳米填料对PI材料电学性能的影响,从而改善PI杂化材料综合性能,拓宽其应用范围。
