Using ethyl acrylate (EA) and butyl acrylate (BA) as soft monomers, methyl methacrylate (MMA), styrene (St), and acrylonitrile as hard monomers, methyl Hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEMA) and methacrylic acid (MAA) as crosslinking monomers, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as emulsifiers, and ammonium persulfate (APS) as initiators, an acrylate base emulsion was prepared through semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization. And then a modified acrylate adhesive for FPC was prepared by adding suitable amount of curing agent and vulcanizing agent to emulsion. The optimal formulation of the acrylate base emulsion was obtained by simple variable method and orthogonal experiment, that is as follow: m(soft monomer) : m(hard monomer) : m(crosslinking agent) : m(emulsifiers): m(initiators)= 65:30:4:3:0.3, w(SDS)=2%, w(APS)=0.3%. With this formulation, the peel strength of the encapsulation sample is 0.92 N/mm, the peel strength of the single panel is 2.15 N/mm, and the soldering resistance pass rate is 100%, the moisture absorption rate of the film is 3.11%, which can all meet the performance requirements of adhesivein the FPC substrate.

以丙烯酸乙酯(EA)和丙烯酸丁酯(BA)为软单体,甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)、苯乙烯(St)和丙烯腈为硬单体,甲基丙烯酸羟乙酯(HEMA)和甲基丙烯酸(MAA)为交联单体,十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)和过硫酸铵(APS)分别为乳化剂和引发剂,通过半连续化种子乳液聚合的方法制备得到丙烯酸酯基础乳液,然后加入适量固化剂和硫化剂制备得到一种FPC用改性丙烯酸酯胶黏剂。通过单一变量法和正交实验得到丙烯酸酯基础乳液的最优配方为:m(软单)∶m(硬单体)∶m(交联单体)m(乳化剂)∶m(引发剂)=65∶30∶4∶3∶0.3。此时包封样的剥离强度为0.92 N/mm,单面板对压样的剥离强度为2.15 N/mm,耐焊性通过率为100%,胶膜吸湿率为3.11%,均能够满足FPC基材中胶黏剂的性能要求。

以丙烯酸乙酯(EA)和丙烯酸丁酯(BA)为软单体,甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)、苯乙烯(St)和丙烯腈为硬单体,甲基丙烯酸羟乙酯(HEMA)和甲基丙烯酸(MAA)为交联单体,十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)和过硫酸铵(APS)分别为乳化剂和引发剂,通过半连续化种子乳液聚合的方法制备得到丙烯酸酯基础乳液,然后加入适量固化剂和硫化剂制备得到一种FPC用改性丙烯酸酯胶黏剂。通过单一变量法和正交实验得到丙烯酸酯基础乳液的最优配方为:m(软单)∶m(硬单体)∶m(交联单体)m(乳化剂)∶m(引发剂)=65∶30∶4∶3∶0.3。此时包封样的剥离强度为0.92 N/mm,单面板对压样的剥离强度为2.15 N/mm,耐焊性通过率为100%,胶膜吸湿率为3.11%,均能够满足FPC基材中胶黏剂的性能要求。

Using ethyl acrylate (EA) and butyl acrylate (BA) as soft monomers, methyl methacrylate (MMA), styrene (St), and acrylonitrile as hard monomers, methyl Hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEMA) and methacrylic acid (MAA) as crosslinking monomers, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as emulsifiers, and ammonium persulfate (APS) as initiators, an acrylate base emulsion was prepared through semi-continuous seed emulsion polymerization. And then a modified acrylate adhesive for FPC was prepared by adding suitable amount of curing agent and vulcanizing agent to emulsion. The optimal formulation of the acrylate base emulsion was obtained by simple variable method and orthogonal experiment, that is as follow: m(soft monomer) : m(hard monomer) : m(crosslinking agent) : m(emulsifiers): m(initiators)= 65:30:4:3:0.3, w(SDS)=2%, w(APS)=0.3%. With this formulation, the peel strength of the encapsulation sample is 0.92 N/mm, the peel strength of the single panel is 2.15 N/mm, and the soldering resistance pass rate is 100%, the moisture absorption rate of the film is 3.11%, which can all meet the performance requirements of adhesivein the FPC substrate.

柔性印制线路板(FPC)作为一种电子线路板基材,具有轻、薄、短、小和结构灵活等特点[1]。电子产品的飞速发展促使FPC 的需求量明显上升[2],随着FPC 产品的应用领域越来越广泛,对FPC用基板材料的性能要求也越来越高(包括挠性覆铜板、纯胶膜和覆盖膜等)。目前国内外FPC基材市场上公开应用的技术较少,主要专利技术掌握在美国、日本等国家,我国的技术较为薄弱。如美国杜邦公司的发明专利“丙烯腈-(甲基)丙烯酸-丙烯酸丁酯三元共聚物与酚醛树脂组成的胶黏剂”,以生产工艺简单、成本低以及性能优异著称,其中单面板对压样的剥离强度达到1.8~2.5 N/mm,包封样品的剥离强度达到0.8~1.0 N/mm,耐焊性能好(260℃锡炉中10 s不起泡)[3]
FPC基材中常用的胶黏剂主要有环氧和丙烯酸酯两大类。其中,环氧胶具有吸水率低、耐高温、固化后不变色等优点,但其存在生产过程复杂、含有有机溶剂对环境不友好、产品贮存期短、稳定性差等缺点。丙烯酸酯胶具有生产工艺简单、环境友好、贮存时间长、稳定性好的优点[4-6],但是也存在冷脆热黏[7]、吸水率高、耐高温性差以及变色问题。
针对以上丙烯酸酯胶黏剂的不足,本研究选择丙烯酸乙酯(EA)和丙烯酸丁酯为软单体[8-9],甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)、苯乙烯(St)和丙烯腈为硬单体,甲基丙烯酸羟乙酯(HEMA)和甲基丙烯酸(MAA)为交联单体,十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)和过硫酸铵(APS)分别为乳化剂和引发剂,通过半连续化种子乳液聚合的方法制备得到丙烯酸酯基础乳液,然后加入适量的固化剂和硫化剂制备得到一种改性的丙烯酸酯胶黏剂[10]。首先通过单一变量法分别讨论丙烯酸酯基础乳液中各主要组分的用量梯度对其粘接性、耐高温性以及耐水性能的影响,然后进一步通过正交实验对上述配方进行优化。
丙烯酸乙酯(EA)、丙烯酸丁酯(BA)、甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)、苯乙烯(St)、丙烯腈(硬单体)、丙烯酸乙酯(EA)、丙烯酸(AA)、十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)、氨水、硫化剂,均为工业级,东莞市三合化工有限公司;过硫酸氨(APS),分析纯,国药集团化学试剂有限公司;固化剂、去离子水,实验室自制;聚酰亚胺(PI)膜(厚度为25 μm)、电解铜箔(1oz)、SIT-301单面板,南亚铜箔(昆山)有限公司。
HH-1型恒温水浴锅,常州国华电器有限公司;101型烘箱,北京市永光明医疗仪器厂;80T0N型快压机,苏州仕立德机械设备有限公司;320型热塑机、BL-12型剥离强度测试仪、PZ-SB-18型可焊性测试仪,广东省正业有限公司。
在装有回流冷凝管、搅拌器、温度计、恒压滴液漏斗和N2保护装置的四口烧瓶中,加入适量的去离子水和全部的乳化剂作为打底液,高速搅拌15 min,然后滴加1/3的混合单体,15 min滴完,同时添加1/3制备好的引发剂溶液,中速搅拌,在65℃水浴锅内反应30 min。然后升温至80℃,待出现明显蓝光时,表明开始发生聚合反应,此时开始滴加剩余的混合单体,2 h内滴加完毕。在开始滴加剩余单体后的1 h内加入1/3引发剂溶液,单体滴加完毕后再加入最后的1/3引发剂溶液,保温反应30 min,最后升温到85℃熟化1 h,冷却至室温后出料。
将上述制得的乳液中加入适量的固化剂和硫化剂,以及黏度调节剂,搅拌均匀。
将上述胶液通过手工线棒涂布法均匀地涂覆在双向拉伸聚丙烯(BOPP)薄膜上(控制干胶膜的厚度为(25±2)μm),经过100℃处理10 min(去溶剂)后,将BOPP上的胶膜通过热塑机转移到聚酰亚胺(PI)膜上,再将PI膜与铜箔光面通过热塑机进行覆合,制得FPC包封样品。将BOPP上的胶膜转移到单面板的PI面,然后将另外一片单面板的PI面与附有胶膜的单面板PI 面在热塑机进行对压制得FPC多层板样品。然后将上述样品置于快压机上,在175℃下快压2 min后再放置于高温干燥烘箱中在170℃下固化1.5 h,得到测试样品。
(1)乳液固含量:取适量的乳液(1~2 g)称得质量为W1,加入3滴10%对苯二酚溶液后置于120℃高温干燥烘箱中处理2 h,至其达到恒重记为W2,通过W2/W1计算出乳液的固含量。
(2)单体转化率:通过上述实测固含量与理论固含量的比值可以算出单体转化率。
(3)90°剥离强度(PS)和耐焊性:按照GB/T 13557—2017测试。
(4)吸湿率:将烘干后恒重(质量为M1)的胶膜(厚度为100 μm左右)放入恒温恒湿箱中(25℃、75%RH)24 h,称取其质量M2,通过(M2-M1)/M1计算胶膜的吸湿率。
(5)耐焊性通过率:将制作好的FPC基板裁成大小均匀的样品,浸没于288℃锡炉中10 s,观察其表面起泡现象。
软单体赋予丙烯酸酯胶黏剂优异的柔韧性,增加其表面的润湿性从而提高对被粘物的粘接强度,同时软单体会降低聚合物的玻璃化转变温度,从而降低其成膜温度。硬单体赋予胶黏剂内聚力,提高胶黏剂的刚性和硬度[11-12]。本研究对软、硬单体的用量进行单因素梯度实验,同时对其胶黏剂进行性能测试,测试结果见表12
表12可知,随着软单体和硬单体用量的增加,两种样品的PS均呈现先增大后减小的趋势,特别是单面板对压样的表现更明显。当软单体的用量过大时,胶黏剂表现出初始黏性大,胶膜较软,造成PS适当降低。而当硬单体的用量过大时,胶黏剂偏硬而且容易断裂,使得PS降低。胶膜的吸湿率随着软、硬单体用量的增加均呈现出先减小后增大的趋势。综合可知,软单体和硬单体的用量分别为65.0 g和30.0 g时,胶黏剂的综合性能较好。
在制备丙烯酸酯胶黏剂的过程中,通常会加入功能单体,以提高聚合物的交联密度,从而明显改善胶黏剂的粘接强度。功能单体是指含有羧基、羟基、环氧基或酰胺基等极性基团的丙烯酸类单体[13]。本研究同时选用含有羧基和羟基的两种功能单体(质量比为1∶1),并对其总用量进行梯度实验,结果如表3所示。
表3可以看出,随着功能单体总用量的增加,两种样品的PS均呈现先增大后减小的趋势,其中包封样PS在功能单体总用量为6 g时最大,而单面板对压样的PS在其用量为5 g时最大。吸湿率随功能单体用量的增加呈现逐渐增大的趋势。这是因为功能单体中的功能基团均为亲水基团,因此胶黏剂吸湿率随其用量的增加而增大[14]。综上,功能单体总用量为5 g时,胶黏剂的综合性能较优。
表4为乳化剂SDS的用量变化对胶黏剂性能影响。由表4可以看出,随着SDS用量的增加,乳液的固含量和单体转化率均有明显的提高。当SDS的用量小于3 g时,乳液的固含量和单体转化率呈增大趋势,此时乳化剂的浓度低于临界胶束浓度(CMC),单体不能完全乳化,导致聚合过程中发生爆聚,从而可使乳液的固含量和单体的转化率降低[15];当SDS的用量大于3 g时,乳液的固含量和单体转化率没有明显的变化。但是SDS的用量增加导致乳液中乳胶粒子数增多,乳胶粒径减小,使得乳液变得黏稠[16],不利于生产涂布。同时随着SDS用量的增加,胶黏剂的粘接性能先升高后降低,耐焊性通过率逐渐增大,同时吸湿率逐渐增加,所以乳化剂的最佳用量为3 g。
在乳液聚合过程中,引发剂控制聚合反应速率,引发剂的用量和种类直接决定聚合物产品的性能。通过比较过硫酸钾(KPS)和过硫酸铵(APS)的引发机理以及引发效率,发现两者都是热分解产生自由基促进丙烯酸酯乳液聚合,但因为KPS在热分解过程中会产生游离K+,可能会对FPC的电荷转移性造成一定的影响,而APS受热分解产生的氨水在涂膜过程中易于挥发[14,17-18],所以本研究选择APS作为引发剂。表5为引发剂用量变化对胶黏剂性能的影响。
表5可以看出,随着APS用量的增加,乳液的固含量和单体转化率均先快速增大然后趋于平缓,胶黏剂的粘接强度呈现出先增大后减小的趋势,这是因为在APS用量过少时,分解产生的自由基数量不能满足聚合反应所需的自由基数量,导致乳液聚合反应不完全,影响胶黏剂的粘接强度[19-20]。当APS的用量大于0.3 g时,分解产生的自由基数量过多,导致聚合物分子量偏低,从而影响胶黏剂的粘接强度。同时,耐焊性通过率随着引发剂的用量增加而逐渐减小。此外,APS用量的变化对胶膜的吸湿率无明显影响。所以,引发剂APS的最佳用量为0.3 g。
上述通过单因素变量法讨论各组分的用量梯度影响发现,综合性能较优的基础乳液胶的配方为:软单体用量为65.0 g,硬单体用量为30.0 g,功能单体用量为5 g,乳化剂用量为3 g,引发剂用量为0.3 g。但该配方胶黏剂的个别性能指标,如PS仍然没有达到GB/T 14709—2017 和GB/T 13555—2017中PS≥0.7 N/mm的要求,且耐焊性通过率也没有达到100%。所以需要进一步通过正交实验科学地找出最优配方,使其性能达到相关标准的要求。
根据上述结果,将5个主要的影响因素,即软单体、硬单体、功能单体、乳化剂和引发剂的用量综合,分别用软、硬单体用量配比(A),功能单体用量(b),乳化剂用量(C)和引发剂用量(D)4个因素一起做四因素三水平(即L9(34))的正交实验,具体配方设计见表6
FPC用胶黏剂的性能主要由粘结性能、耐焊性以及吸湿率来体现。根据单因素实验中各结果的变化程度大小,正交实验分别选取变化较明显的包封样PS、胶黏剂吸湿率和单面板对压样耐焊性通过率这3个指标,对胶黏剂的配方进行优化,实验结果详见表7
根据表7可以看出:①根据包封样PS的结果,4种因素的影响大小顺序为A>C>B>D,最优配方为A3B3C1D3。②根据胶黏剂吸湿率的结果,4种因素的影响大小顺序为A>B>C>D,最优配方为A2B1C2D2。③根据单面板对压样耐焊性通过率的结果,4种因素的影响大小顺序为C>A=B>D,最优配方为A3B3C3D1。
根据上述正交实验的结果,将得到的3个最优配方进行重复验证实验,性能测试结果详见表8。通过表8可以看出,配方A2B1C2D2制得的胶黏剂综合性能最优异。
以EA和BA为混合软单体,MMA、St、AN为混合硬单体,HEMA和MAA为混合交联单体,SDS和KPS分别为乳化剂和引发剂制备得到丙烯酸酯基础乳液,然后加入适量的固化剂和硫化剂得到一种FPC用的改性丙烯酸酯胶黏剂。通过单一变量法和正交实验得到基础乳液胶的最优配方为:m(软单体)∶m(硬单体)∶m(交联单体)∶m(乳化剂)∶m(引发剂)=65∶30∶4∶3∶0.3。此时包封样PS平均值为0.92 N/mm,单面板对压样PS平均值为2.15 N/mm,耐焊性通过率为100%,胶膜吸湿率最高为3.11%。该胶黏剂综合性能优异,粘接强度与国外同类专利产品相当,同时在耐焊性能上有所提高(从260℃提高到288℃)。
