Dosidicus gigas is an important fishing target by Chinese squid-jigging fisheries, which is widely distributed in the Southeast Pacific Ocean. Its population is largely affected by climatic and environmental conditions on the fishing ground. In this study, we calculated the habitat suitability index (HSI) on the fishing ground of D. gigas in the Southeast Pacific Ocean off Peru from January to December during 1950 to 2015 based on sea surface temperature (SST) and the anomalies of sea surface height (SSHA), and variability in the environmental variables and habitat quality were further analyzed under the warm and cold phases of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO). The results suggested that PDO showed cold, warm and cold phases from 1950 to 2015. The anomalies of SST (SSTA) and SSHA during the cold PDO were significantly lower than those during the warm PDO. The cross correlation analysis suggested that both the SSTA and the SSHA were significantly positively correlated with the PDO index. However, and the HSI values on the fishing ground of D. gigas were significantly negatively correlated with the PDO index, SSTA and SSHA. During the cold PDO, the water temperature became cold, and the SSH decreased, these changes led to enlarged areas of suitable SST and SSHA for D. gigas, therefore, the favorable habitats largely increased. However, during the warm PDO, the water temperature became warm, the SSH elevated, whereas the ranges of suitable SST and SSHA contracted, all these changes resulted in the decrease of the suitable habitat of D. gigas. Our findings suggested that PDO regulated the environmental conditions on the fishing ground of D. gigas off Peru, and further significantly affected the habitat quality and suitable ranges of the habitat.

茎柔鱼广泛分布于东南太平洋海域,是我国重要的远洋捕捞对象之一,其种群易受气候和栖息地环境的影响。利用海表面温度(SST)和海表面高度距平(SSHA)两个关键环境因子,计算1950−2015年1−12月秘鲁外海茎柔鱼栖息地适宜性指数(HSI),对比分析太平洋年代际涛动(PDO)位于冷暖位相下茎柔鱼渔场环境以及栖息地质量的变动。结果显示,1950−2015年PDO呈现冷、暖、冷3个位相变化,其中PDO冷位相内的SST距平(SSTA)和SSHA明显低于PDO暖位相。交相关分析结果表明,PDO指数与SSTA和SSHA均呈显著正相关,而HSI与PDO指数、SSTA和SSHA均呈显著负相关。PDO位于冷位相时,茎柔鱼渔场内水温变冷,海面高度下降,适宜的SST和SSHA范围增加,因此茎柔鱼有利的栖息地面积增大;而PDO位于暖位相时,水温增暖,海面高度上升,适宜的SST和SSHA范围缩减,导致茎柔鱼适宜的栖息地面积缩小。研究认为,太平洋年代际涛动调控了茎柔鱼渔场内的环境变化,进而对茎柔鱼栖息地质量及适宜栖息地范围产生显著影响。

茎柔鱼广泛分布于东南太平洋海域,是我国重要的远洋捕捞对象之一,其种群易受气候和栖息地环境的影响。利用海表面温度(SST)和海表面高度距平(SSHA)两个关键环境因子,计算1950−2015年1−12月秘鲁外海茎柔鱼栖息地适宜性指数(HSI),对比分析太平洋年代际涛动(PDO)位于冷暖位相下茎柔鱼渔场环境以及栖息地质量的变动。结果显示,1950−2015年PDO呈现冷、暖、冷3个位相变化,其中PDO冷位相内的SST距平(SSTA)和SSHA明显低于PDO暖位相。交相关分析结果表明,PDO指数与SSTA和SSHA均呈显著正相关,而HSI与PDO指数、SSTA和SSHA均呈显著负相关。PDO位于冷位相时,茎柔鱼渔场内水温变冷,海面高度下降,适宜的SST和SSHA范围增加,因此茎柔鱼有利的栖息地面积增大;而PDO位于暖位相时,水温增暖,海面高度上升,适宜的SST和SSHA范围缩减,导致茎柔鱼适宜的栖息地面积缩小。研究认为,太平洋年代际涛动调控了茎柔鱼渔场内的环境变化,进而对茎柔鱼栖息地质量及适宜栖息地范围产生显著影响。

Dosidicus gigas is an important fishing target by Chinese squid-jigging fisheries, which is widely distributed in the Southeast Pacific Ocean. Its population is largely affected by climatic and environmental conditions on the fishing ground. In this study, we calculated the habitat suitability index (HSI) on the fishing ground of D. gigas in the Southeast Pacific Ocean off Peru from January to December during 1950 to 2015 based on sea surface temperature (SST) and the anomalies of sea surface height (SSHA), and variability in the environmental variables and habitat quality were further analyzed under the warm and cold phases of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO). The results suggested that PDO showed cold, warm and cold phases from 1950 to 2015. The anomalies of SST (SSTA) and SSHA during the cold PDO were significantly lower than those during the warm PDO. The cross correlation analysis suggested that both the SSTA and the SSHA were significantly positively correlated with the PDO index. However, and the HSI values on the fishing ground of D. gigas were significantly negatively correlated with the PDO index, SSTA and SSHA. During the cold PDO, the water temperature became cold, and the SSH decreased, these changes led to enlarged areas of suitable SST and SSHA for D. gigas, therefore, the favorable habitats largely increased. However, during the warm PDO, the water temperature became warm, the SSH elevated, whereas the ranges of suitable SST and SSHA contracted, all these changes resulted in the decrease of the suitable habitat of D. gigas. Our findings suggested that PDO regulated the environmental conditions on the fishing ground of D. gigas off Peru, and further significantly affected the habitat quality and suitable ranges of the habitat.

茎柔鱼(Dosidicus gigas)为大洋头足类种类,广泛分布于东太平洋海域[1],分布在140°W以东的加利福尼亚半岛40°N至智利47°S的海域[2]。茎柔鱼渔业始于1974年,但大规模开发利用始于20世纪90年代中期。我国于2001年开发了秘鲁外海茎柔鱼渔场,2006年首次进入智利外海茎柔鱼渔场,目前茎柔鱼渔获产量稳定在20×104 t/a,茎柔鱼已经成为我国鱿钓船的重要捕捞对象[3-4]。一般认为,茎柔鱼存在大、中、小3个群体[5-6],茎柔鱼的生命周期为1~2 a[7],其群体对于气候以及栖息地环境的变化极为敏感,其生存环境受到大尺度气候条件的影响[8]。已有研究表明,茎柔鱼渔场变动与海表温度(Sea Surface Temperature,SST)[3]、水温垂直结构[9]、海表盐度(Sea Surface Salinity,SSS)[10]以及光合有效辐射(Photosynthetically Active Radiation,PAR)[11]等环境因子有密切关系。
作为短生命周期种类,茎柔鱼资源量变动对局部海域环境条件以及全球气候变化极为敏感,其资源和渔场随之发生波动。太平洋年代际涛动(Pacific Decadal Oscillation, PDO)是一种以10 a周期尺度变化的太平洋气候变化现象。在PDO暖期(暖位相)时,北太平洋西北部和中部海域异常变冷,而东太平洋海域和北美沿岸海域异常变暖;而在PDO冷期(冷位相),北太平洋西北部和中部海域异常变暖,东太平洋海域和北美沿岸海域异常变冷[12]。前人研究表明,PDO对西北太平洋柔鱼(Ommastrephes bartramii[13]和太平洋褶柔鱼(Todarodes pacificus[14]等头足类的渔场环境产生显著影响。本研究分析在太平洋年代际涛动位于冷暖位相两种气候条件下,对比秘鲁外海茎柔鱼渔场SSTA与SSHA的时空变化特征,以及两种气候条件下茎柔鱼栖息地质量的变化,并探索茎柔鱼适宜栖息地对PDO的响应过程,整体把握大尺度气候变化对茎柔鱼栖息地的影响,从而丰富秘鲁外海茎柔鱼渔场环境动态的认识,为茎柔鱼资源的可持续开发和管理提供科学依据。
环境数据包括SST和海表面高度(Sea Surface Height,SSH),时间为1950−2015年1−12月,共计792个月,数据覆盖了秘鲁海区茎柔鱼渔场海域,其空间分布范围为8°~20°S,75°~95°W,数据空间分辨率均转化为0.5°×0.5°。环境数据均来源于夏威夷大学网站(http://apdrc.soest.hawaii.edu/data/data.php)。PDO指数来源于美国华盛顿大学大气与海洋研究联合研究所网站(http://research.jisao.washington.edu/pdo/PDO.latest)。
计算海表温度距平(Sea Surface Temperature Anomaly,SSTA)和海表面高度距平值(Sea Surface Height Anomaly,SSHA),并对1950−2015年PDO指数、秘鲁外海茎柔鱼渔场海域SSTA和SSHA进行逐年平均,分析其年际变化。根据PDO 指数的年际变化,确定PDO冷暖位相的具体时间范围。
利用交相关函数分析PDO指数与SSTA和SSHA 的相关性,分别绘制PDO在冷暖位相时茎柔鱼渔场内的SSTA和SSHA空间分布图,对比分析茎柔鱼渔场范围内SSTA和SSHA在不同PDO位相时的空间分布特征。
依据Yu等[15]建立的适宜性指数(Suitability Index,SI)模型,利用算术平均法(Arithmetic Mean Model, AMM)计算综合栖息地适宜性指数(Habitat Suitability Index,HSI),其计算公式如下:

式中,SISST和SISSHA为SST和SSHA的适宜性指数。综合栖息地适宜性指数值范围在0~1之间,认定HSI≥0.6的海域为茎柔鱼适宜的栖息地[16]。依据SI模型计算茎柔鱼各月适宜SST和适宜SSHA范围,并分别对其逐年平均,对比PDO位于冷暖位相时茎柔鱼对各环境因子适宜范围的变动规律。此外,对1950−2015年各年HSI进行逐年平均,分析其年际变化,绘制PDO位于不同位相时茎柔鱼HSI空间分布图,利用交相关函数分析HSI与PDO指数、SSTA和SSHA的相关性,最终推理秘鲁外海茎柔鱼栖息地质量对PDO年代际变化的响应过程。
图1可以看出,1950−2015年PDO经历两个冷位相和一个暖位相,其中1950−1976年和1999−2015年PDO位于冷位相,1977−1998年PDO位于暖位相。1950−1976年和1999−2015年PDO指数平均值分别为−0.63和−0.15;而1977−1998年PDO指数平均值为0.60。秘鲁外海茎柔鱼渔场SSTA的变化范围为−1.32~1.35℃,其中1950−1976年和1999−2015年PDO位于冷位相时,SSTA平均值分别为−0.25℃和−0.08℃,明显低于1977−1998年PDO暖位相,其对应的SSTA平均值为0.36℃。SSHA波动范围为−4.43~5.85 cm,其中1950−1976年和1999−2015年平均SSHA分别为−1.59 cm和−0.58 cm,明显低于1977−1998年平均SSHA值2.39 cm。
1950−2015年茎柔鱼渔场SSTA和SSHA的变化趋势与PDO指数的变动基本保持一致(图1)。交相关分析表明,秘鲁外海茎柔鱼渔场SSTA与PDO指数呈显著正相关,在提前1个月时相关性最大,相关系数值为0.496 2(p<0.05);此外,渔场SSHA与PDO指数呈显著正相关,在提前1个月时相关性最大,相关系数为0.588 6(p<0.05)(图2)。
图3可看出,1950−1976年PDO位于冷位相时,绝大多数海域内的SSTA均为负值,仅在17°~20°S,75°~77°W海域内出现少数正值,空间上SSTA由南向北呈现递减的趋势;1977−1998年PDO位于暖位相时,秘鲁外海茎柔鱼渔场内的SSTA全部为正值,东北海域的SSTA相较其他海域比较集中并且偏高,西南部分海域的SSTA也较高;1999−2015年PDO位于冷位相时,在空间上SSTA呈由南向北递增的趋势,大部分海域SSTA为负值,北部部分海域SSTA为正值。
1950−1976年PDO位于冷位相时,SSHA大多为负值,在13°~15°S,75°~77°W海域内出现少数正值;1977−1998年PDO位于暖位相时,渔场内SSHA全部为正,14°~16°S,85°~88°W海域以及9°~10°S,82°~85°W海域内,SSHA偏高;1999−2015年PDO位于冷位相时,在空间上SSHA呈西南高东北低的趋势,大部分海域SSHA为负值,仅有西南部分海域的SSHA为正。因此可以看出,PDO位于冷位相时,茎柔鱼渔场内水温变冷,海面高度下降;相反,PDO位于暖位相时,茎柔鱼渔场水温增暖,而海面高度上升(图3)。
图4可知,茎柔鱼适宜的SST面积比例在21.3%~47.8%之间波动。1950−1976年和1999−2015年PDO位于冷位相时,适宜的SSHA面积比例平均值分别为38.3%和36.8%,明显高于1977−1998年PDO位于暖位相内适宜的SSHA面积比例35.0%。此外,茎柔鱼适宜的SSHA面积变化范围为9.3%~42.3%。1950−1976年和1999−2015年PDO位于冷位相时,适宜的SSHA面积比例平均值分别为36.1%和36.0%,明显高于1977−1998年PDO位于暖位相内适宜的SSHA面积比例26.4%。
图5可看出,1950−2015年HSI的变化趋势与PDO指数(图1)呈相反趋势,HSI变化范围为0.25~0.58。1950−1976年和1999−2015年PDO位于冷位相时,HSI平均值分别为0.52和0.51,明显高于1977−1998年PDO暖期的HSI平均值0.44。从HSI的空间分布可以看出,在1950−1976年和1999−2015年PDO冷位相时,较为适宜的栖息地面积(HSI≥0.6)明显大于1977−1998年PDO暖位相,并且较为适宜的栖息地集中分布于12°~16°S,75°~85°W海域(图5)。
进一步分析1950−2015年各月HSI与PDO指数、SSTA和SSHA交相关性(图6)。结果显示,HSI和PDO指数呈显著负相关关系,且滞后2个月产生最大负影响,对应交相关系数为−0.290 5(p<0.05);HSI和SSTA呈显著负相关关系,且在滞后1个月时产生最大负影响,对应交相关系数为−0.377 3(p<0.05);同样HSI和SSHA呈显著负相关关系,并在0月产生最大负影响,对应交相关系数为−0.440 5(p<0.05)。
太平洋年代际涛动是一种年代际时间尺度上的气候变率强信号,是叠加在长期气候趋势变化下的扰动,可直接造成太平洋及其周边地区的年代际变化[17]。不同尺度气候变化之间也存在着交互作用,例如PDO位于暖位相时,厄尔尼诺事件发生频率高且强度较强;PDO位于冷位相时,拉尼娜事件发生频率高且强度较强[18]。从本文研究结果来看,根据PDO指数、SSTA和SSHA的时间序列(图1)可以观察到,PDO指数以及环境因子的波动除了年代际的变化,在年际时间尺度上也存在着显著的波动。例如,1997年适宜的SST和适宜的SSHA面积比例为1950−2015年的最低值(图4),1997年HSI值也达到最低水平(图5),栖息地质量下降,适宜栖息地面积减小。已有研究表明[13],1997−1998年厄尔尼诺现象的发生,使得茎柔鱼资源量下降,从而导致秘鲁外海茎柔鱼产量剧减。由此可知,若在PDO暖位相时期发生厄尔尼诺现象,两种气候效应的叠加,可能会使茎柔鱼资源下降程度变大。
PDO冷暖位相的交替能够影响海洋鱼类种群。Zwolinski和Demer[19]研究认为太平洋沙丁鱼种群的补充量与PDO直接相关,PDO位于暖位相时,沙丁鱼种群增加,位于冷位相时减少。张衡等[20]对1952−2001年太平洋长鳍金枪鱼延绳钓生产数据和PDO进行交叉相关分析,结果表明长鳍金枪鱼CPUE同太平洋年际振荡指数具有相关性。Phillips等[21]根据1961−2008年北太平洋长鳍金枪鱼幼鱼的空间分布与海表温度以及PDO指数和多元ENSO指数的关联,得出PDO指数对长鳍金枪鱼资源有负影响。PDO变化对太平洋地区海洋生态系统以及渔业的影响,对于短生命周期的头足类鱼类研究甚少[22]。余为等[13]研究认为,PDO暖期时产生了有利于柔鱼生长和繁殖的气候条件,导致资源量上升;相反,PDO冷期则产生了不利于柔鱼的环境条件导致柔鱼资源丰度下降,从而产量锐减。武胜男等[14]研究发现,PDO变化在一定程度上影响太平洋褶柔鱼秋生群资源量和产卵场环境。PDO位于正位相年份,太平洋褶柔鱼秋生群产卵场SST明显低于PDO负位相年份。由于我国鱿钓渔业发展历程短,缺乏长时间的捕捞数据,目前对于柔鱼科的研究都仅限于短时间序列内,并局限于探讨PDO的年际变化。本文根据1950−2015年PDO指数变化,将PDO分为3个时期,分别为1950−1976年冷位相、1977−1998年暖位相和1999−2015年冷位相,该PDO时期的划分与前人的研究基本相同[12, 18, 23]。并且探讨了不同位相时期内秘鲁外海茎柔鱼渔场环境变化,研究认为PDO指数与SSTA和SSHA呈显著正相关关系,说明PDO位于冷位相时,SSTA和SSHA偏低,PDO位于暖位相时则相反。
许多研究显示,SST对茎柔鱼渔场的分布影响显著,是影响茎柔鱼生命史及空间分布的关键因子[3, 9]。SST作为最基本的输入变量,通常被用于HSI建模[10, 15]。在Yu等[15]研究中指出,SSHA是栖息地形成的重要因素之一,将SSHA考虑在栖息地模型建立中能够更加准确地鉴定和探索最适宜栖息地。并且研究发现,利用AMM建立的综合栖息地适宜性指数模型,高HSI值与大量捕捞努力量和高渔获量之间存在很强的一致性[15],能够为气候变化下的栖息地适宜性提供强有力的依据。另外,Yu等[15]已利用实际生产数据对栖息地指数模型进行了验证,故本文未对模型进行重复验证。
依据Yu等[15]建立的SI模型,确定适宜的SST和适宜的SSHA,其年际变化与PDO指数的波动有一定的相关性,并且PDO位于冷位相时,适宜的SST和SSHA面积增加;PDO位于暖位相时,适宜的SST和SSHA面积减少。通过AMM建立综合栖息地适宜性指数模型,分析发现PDO位于冷位相时,栖息地的质量上升,适宜的栖息地面积较多;PDO位于暖位相时,栖息地的质量下降,适宜的栖息地面积较少。由于茎柔鱼易受到气候以及海洋环境的影响,本研究利用长达66年的环境数据,通过在PDO年代际尺度气候变化背景下,分析SSTA和SSHA等环境因子的变化,同时构建HSI模型,分析适宜栖息地的面积分布。结果显示,环境因子的变动与PDO大尺度气候变化有显著的相关性,并且栖息地的质量以及适宜范围很好地响应了PDO的变化。结合上述分析,我们推理出秘鲁外海茎柔鱼栖息地适宜性对PDO的可能响应过程为:PDO位于冷位相时,东太平洋偏冷,茎柔鱼渔场水温变冷,海面高度下降,适宜的温度和海面高度范围增加,进而栖息地质量上升,适宜的栖息地面积较多;PDO位于暖位相时,东太平洋偏暖,茎柔鱼渔场水温变暖,海面高度上升,适宜的温度和海面高度范围减小,进而栖息地质量下降,适宜的栖息地面积较小。
本研究仅选用了SST和SSHA两个环境因子构建HSI模型,HSI模型不可避免地会有一定的偏差,我们需要考虑每个环境因子的作用,在下一步的研究中我们可以考虑加入叶绿素、海表面盐度等因子。此外,由于我国秘鲁外海茎柔鱼渔场的生产数据没有达到长时间尺度的条件,所以缺少了与环境数据的对比,今后我们应该通过国际合作收集更多的渔业数据,能够更好地对海洋环境以及气候对于渔场的影响进行大尺度的分析。
