Based on the 141 surface sediments collected from the Yazhou Bay, Hainan Island, the distribution characteristics of grain size components, grain size parameters and sediment types were analyzed. The results indicate that the samples can be classified into 6 types as argillaceous arenaceous gravel, gravelly argillaceous sand, sand, silty sand, arenaceous silt and silt in the study area. In particular, the arenaceous silt is most widely distributed. The grain size diameters increase and then decrease, showing a banding distribution from north to south. The separation coefficient is generally high, which indicates the complex sediment sources and hydrodynamic conditions in this area. Base on Flemming ternary diagram, combined with sediment sources, hydrodynamic conditions and topographic features, the study area is divided into three sedimentary districts from north to south: the nearshore zone which showing the characteristics of wave-controlled deposition is mostly impacted by wave winnowing and transport, and the grain size is relatively small; the central Yazhou Bay zone is a high-energy coarse grained sand area, mainly controlled by the combined action of runoff, wave and tidal current; relatively, the southern zone is mainly affected by tidal current load, where the wave action is weakened, the sediment is the finest and deposited in a lower energy environment. In addition, the analysis of sediment transport trend shows that the midwest part of the study area is a depositional center, the silt of coastal erosion, Ningyuan River and offshore tidal current transport are carried to this area.

基于崖州湾海域141个表层沉积物粒度分析数据,研究表层沉积物的粒级组分、粒度参数及其沉积动力环境特征。结果表明,研究区底质类型主要有泥质砂质砾、砾质泥质砂、砂、粉砂质砂、砂质粉砂和粉砂6种,砂质粉砂分布最为广泛;粒径总体趋势表现为自北向南由细变粗再变细的NEE条带状分布特征,分选系数总体偏高,反映了该区复杂的物源和水动力条件。运用Flemming三角图式,结合粒度象、研究区物源、水动力条件及地形特征,将研究区划分为3个沉积环境:近岸主要受控于波浪掀沙和搬运作用,粒径较细,表现为波控沉积特征;中部主要受控于径流、波浪和潮流共同作用,粒径粗,分选差,表现为河口沉积特征;南部主要受控于潮流输沙作用,波浪作用减弱,粒径细,分选相对较好,表现为相对低能的沉积环境。沉积物输移趋势分析显示研究区中西部为一沉积物汇聚中心,近岸侵蚀物质、宁远河输运物质以及外海潮流输运物质均向该处运移。

基于崖州湾海域141个表层沉积物粒度分析数据,研究表层沉积物的粒级组分、粒度参数及其沉积动力环境特征。结果表明,研究区底质类型主要有泥质砂质砾、砾质泥质砂、砂、粉砂质砂、砂质粉砂和粉砂6种,砂质粉砂分布最为广泛;粒径总体趋势表现为自北向南由细变粗再变细的NEE条带状分布特征,分选系数总体偏高,反映了该区复杂的物源和水动力条件。运用Flemming三角图式,结合粒度象、研究区物源、水动力条件及地形特征,将研究区划分为3个沉积环境:近岸主要受控于波浪掀沙和搬运作用,粒径较细,表现为波控沉积特征;中部主要受控于径流、波浪和潮流共同作用,粒径粗,分选差,表现为河口沉积特征;南部主要受控于潮流输沙作用,波浪作用减弱,粒径细,分选相对较好,表现为相对低能的沉积环境。沉积物输移趋势分析显示研究区中西部为一沉积物汇聚中心,近岸侵蚀物质、宁远河输运物质以及外海潮流输运物质均向该处运移。

Based on the 141 surface sediments collected from the Yazhou Bay, Hainan Island, the distribution characteristics of grain size components, grain size parameters and sediment types were analyzed. The results indicate that the samples can be classified into 6 types as argillaceous arenaceous gravel, gravelly argillaceous sand, sand, silty sand, arenaceous silt and silt in the study area. In particular, the arenaceous silt is most widely distributed. The grain size diameters increase and then decrease, showing a banding distribution from north to south. The separation coefficient is generally high, which indicates the complex sediment sources and hydrodynamic conditions in this area. Base on Flemming ternary diagram, combined with sediment sources, hydrodynamic conditions and topographic features, the study area is divided into three sedimentary districts from north to south: the nearshore zone which showing the characteristics of wave-controlled deposition is mostly impacted by wave winnowing and transport, and the grain size is relatively small; the central Yazhou Bay zone is a high-energy coarse grained sand area, mainly controlled by the combined action of runoff, wave and tidal current; relatively, the southern zone is mainly affected by tidal current load, where the wave action is weakened, the sediment is the finest and deposited in a lower energy environment. In addition, the analysis of sediment transport trend shows that the midwest part of the study area is a depositional center, the silt of coastal erosion, Ningyuan River and offshore tidal current transport are carried to this area.

沉积物的物质组成主要受母岩物质、动力作用过程等因素控制。在不同的沉积环境下,地形、搬运介质以及水动力条件的差异性,造成沉积物稳定沉积后物质组成与分布的差异,是划分海底底质类型的主要参考。粒度作为沉积物的主要属性之一,是沉积物分类和环境划分、对比的依据,也是沉积动力学主要研究对象[1]。沉积物粒度受“源–汇”过程的制约,其粒度参数是探究沉积物与沉积环境之间动力学联系的重要纽带[2],可以反映水动力条件和沉积环境的变迁[3],指示沉积物来源[4]。研究表明[5-7],沉积物元素丰度的近似性充分说明中国大陆是中国近浅海沉积物的主要物质来源,具有明显的继承性。然而,不同区域的物源和动力环境具有显著差异,其沉积物分布及受控机制存在明显的区域性特点。
崖州湾位于海南省三亚市西南海域,是海上丝绸之路服务南海、面向东南亚的桥头堡,是建设海南自贸港不可或缺的战略空间。长期以来,国内外学者在海南岛南部近海海域做了大量的研究工作[8-12]。但这些研究主要聚焦在三亚湾海域,且以地球化学、珊瑚礁、矿物、古环境等专题研究为主,缺乏系统的沉积物物质组成、分布特征以及输运规律等沉积环境方面的研究,而崖州湾海域的相关研究则更为缺乏。本文拟通过分析在崖州湾系统采集的表层沉积物粒度特征,探讨研究区的现代沉积作用、表层沉积物底质类型的空间分布及其主要控制因素。研究不仅有助于深入了解该区域陆海相互作用的沉积环境和海岸演变趋势,丰富对中小河流影响的海湾沉积特征的认识,还可以为该区域海岸带合理开发利用及海岸防护提供科学依据,实现陆海统筹发展。
崖州湾位于海南省三亚市崖城镇,面朝南海,三面环山,水域开阔,是海上丝绸之路出发和补给的重要港湾。崖州湾东南侧和西侧分别为南山角、鼻头角基岩岬角,岬角向海凸出,海蚀地貌发育;海湾北凹,湾内地形东陡西缓,向海呈阶梯状下降,水深介于0~25 m,具有典型的弧形海岸特征(图1)。崖州湾地处热带,受来自大陆的东北季风和源于南海的西南季风的交替影响,属热带海洋性季风气候,全年气温较高,光照强度大且时间长,雨量充沛,降水集中,干湿季明显。根据实测潮汐资料,崖州湾海域潮汐属于混合的不正规日潮,以半日潮为主,平均潮差为0.80 m。波浪以偏S向浪为主,年均波高约为0.7 m,受热带气旋影响最大波高可达7 m,多出现于秋季[13]
在崖州湾东部有宁远河汇入,宁远河是海南岛第四、琼南最长的河流,干流总长83.5 km,集雨面积1 020 km2,坡降4.63‰,总落差1 101 m,年均降雨深1 462 mm,年均径流量6.49×108 m3,年均流量20.6 m3/s,具有距离短,落差大的特征,并在入海口形成沙坝–澙湖–潮汐通道体系[14]。受该体系中落潮三角洲的影响,崖州湾在平面形态形成了两个次一级弧形海湾。由于两侧向海凸出的基岩岬角限制了沿岸沉积物的输送,崖州湾与沿岸毗邻海湾的泥沙交换不多,因此,宁远河入海物质在湾内沉积物中具有一定的贡献。
2016年3月,在崖州湾海域按2 km×4 km网度进行了海底底质取样,取样深度控制在10 cm的表层,共计取样141站位(图1)。本文以此沉积物样品分析为基础,研究崖州湾海域的沉积物分布特征及沉积环境。
沉积物粒度分析在中国科学院南海海洋研究所海洋环境检测中心完成。从原始样品中取样10~20 g,经双氧水和稀盐酸浸泡处理,除掉有机质和碳酸盐;之后洗盐,利用六偏磷酸钠溶液经超声波分散后,使用英国马尔文(MALVERN)公司生产的Mastersizer-2000型激光粒度分析仪(粒级<2 mm)进行粒度测试。对于粒级大于2 mm的样品则采用筛分法进行测量。
沉积物粒度参数采用McManus矩值法[15]进行计算。沉积物分类和命名采用Folk等[16]提出的沉积物分类三角图解法,相对于Shepard分类[17],Folk分类最突出的优点是充分考虑到了砾石、砂、粉砂和黏土基本组分的动力学意义,是一个具有解释功能的成因分类。将上述计算结果运用Golden Software Surfer 15.0软件进行克里金插值及高斯低通滤波,最终获得粒度参数平面分布图。
沉积物环境的判别采用Flemming三角图式法[18]及Passega的C–M粒度像图式[19];沉积物运移趋势分析基于Gao-Collins模型[20]
根据Folk沉积物分类方法,研究区海底表层沉积物可分为泥质砂质砾(msG)、砾质泥质砂(gmS)、砂(S)、粉砂质砂(zS)、砂质粉砂(sZ)和粉砂(Z)6种类型,以砂质粉砂分布最为广泛,约占全区面积的52.8%(图2)。
自北向南,沉积物分布依次为砂、粉砂质砂、砾质泥质砂、泥质砂质砾、砂质粉砂、粉砂,总体上表现为由细变粗再变细的分布趋势。泥质砂质砾分布范围极小,主要呈圆斑状分布在研究区中部及南部边缘的局部海域;砾质泥质砂主要分布在研究区中部,自宁远河口区呈弯曲的条带状向西南延伸,形成了一NEE向展布的粗粒沉积带;砂仅出现于崖州湾近岸、角头鼻以西的局部地区;粉砂质砂分布于除宁远河口区以外的沿岸一带;砂质粉砂分布最为广泛,紧邻砾质泥质砂区的南北两侧集中分布;粉砂主要分布于研究区南部20 m以深的深水区。各沉积物类型粒度组分和粒度参数见图3
沉积物粒级组分是反映沉积物粒度特征以及指示沉积环境的重要指标[21]。根据沉积物颗粒粒径大小,将研究区沉积物的粒级分为砾石(>2 mm)、砂(2~0.063 mm)、粉砂(0.063~0.004 mm)和黏土(<0.004 mm),各粒级百分含量平面分布特征如图4所示。
图4可以看出,研究区各粒级组分平面分布规律与底质类型分布特征吻合度极高,且存在显著的分区特征。
砾组分主要分布于研究区中部及南山角外局部海域,其高值区大致呈NE向带状分布。
砂组分主要分布于研究区北部。在研究区中部及北东部底质类型为砂和粉砂质砂的区域,砂组分百分含量一般在50%以上,最高可达100%,而在研究区北西部、南部底质类型为砂质粉砂、粉砂的区域,砂粒组分的百分含量相对较低,一般在30%以下,局部海域低至10%以下。
粉砂粒级含量分布趋势与砂、砾含量分布趋势大致相反,高值区主要分布于研究区南部及北西部细粒沉积物区,含量一般大于50%;低值区主要分布于宁远河口及其向西南延伸的一带海域,与砂、砾含量高值区相对应,含量在40%以下,局部区域低至10%以下。
黏土组分分布趋势与粉砂相似。含量总体较低,平均含量仅在10%左右,最高值约为26%,最低值为0。
沉积物粒度参数包括平均粒径、分选系数、偏度和峰度等,记录了地质历史时期沉积动力条件和沉积物运移等方面的信息,是描述沉积环境的重要依据之一,可以用其识别沉积环境或判定物质运动方式[22]
平均粒径代表粒度分布的集中趋势,反映了沉积介质的平均动能,在一定程度上也能反映沉积物的来源[16, 23-25]。一般来说,粗粒沉积常见于高能环境,细粒沉积常见于低能环境,在同一物源条件下,顺流向粒度往往呈递降趋势。
研究区表层沉积物平均粒径变化于–0.94Φ~7.03Φ之间(图5),属细砾至细粉砂范畴;均值为4.29Φ,为极细砂粒级。平均粒径变化范围较大,且分布规律与沉积物粒级分布趋势基本一致,即在宁远河入海口及其向南西延伸的中部海域为低值区,以此区域为中心,向两侧逐渐增大,表明沉积物粒度向两侧逐渐变细的分布特征。
分选系数指示了沉积物粒径的分选程度,即沉积物颗粒大小的均匀性,分选程度与沉积环境的水动力条件密切相关[16,23-25]。若粒级少,主要粒级越突出,含量越高,分选系数就越小,分选性就越好;反之,若粒径分布广,主要粒级不突出,则分选就差。
研究区分选系数介于0.48~3.66之间,均值为2.21(图5)。根据Folk和Ward[24]分选性定性描述(表1),宁远河口及其向南西延伸的中部的区域、角头鼻南侧近岸区域的沉积物分布于分选差的区间,该区域南侧沉积物分布于分选较差的区间,而分选中等至分选好的沉积物则零星分布于研究区近岸、西缘的局部区域。这种差异化的分布特征与研究区复杂的水动力条件以及多样的物质来源有关。
偏度反映了沉积物粒度频率曲线的对称程度,可判别粒度组分分布的对称性,对了解沉积物的成因有一定的意义[16,23-25]。偏度为负偏类型时,粒度集中于细粒端;偏度为正偏时,粒度集中于粗粒端。
研究区表层沉积物偏度介于–0.20~0.79,均值为0.24(图5)。其中,极正偏主要分布于港门港以南与南山港一线西侧以及东锣岛以东海域;正偏则遍布整个研究区,分布于极正偏的外围;近对称主要分布于研究区西南,并在其他区域呈圆斑状零星分布;负偏占比较小,分布于近对称内的中心区域。
峰度反映了沉积物粒度频率分布曲线中部和尾部的展形比,用以衡量其尖锐度,从而反映出主要粒级相对集中的程度[16,23-25]。若峰度很低,说明该沉积物未经改造就进入新环境,而新环境对它的改造又不明显,代表几种物质直接混合。
研究区表层沉积物峰度变化于0.56~4.34,均值为1.04(图5)。在崖州湾近岸、东锣岛附近以及南山角海域存在多个高值中心,峰度表现为尖锐–极尖锐,表明这些区域由于波浪和潮流的共同作用,沉积物粒度级配组成较好,存在一定的优势组分,使得频率曲线峰度较高;而其他大部分区域峰度则表现为尖锐–中等偏宽平的特征,因此,总体上研究区粒度分布较为分散,沉积物的组成与水动力环境较为复杂。
研究区内表层沉积物不仅与物质来源有关,还受到了波浪、径流和潮流等水动力的改造。本文采用Flemming三角图式法,从沉积物组分及其反映的水动力条件来区分沉积环境[18]。Flemming三角图式根据砂的含量依次划分为S、A–E共6个区,自S向E,距粉砂端越近,沉积物颗粒越细;根据黏土在泥质成分中含量依次划分Ⅰ–Ⅵ共6个水动力区,自Ⅰ向Ⅵ,距黏土端越近,水动力越弱。这样,Flemming三角图式共划分为25个区域,分别指示不同的沉积动力环境。研究区沉积物在粒径上从S至E均有分布,而在水动力分区上则主要集中于Ⅰ区与Ⅱ的结合部(图6),反映出崖州湾海域沉积物组成复杂,水动力总体较强。
依据不同的沉积动力环境,结合物源、海底地形地貌等条件,在纵向上将研究区分为3个沉积区:近岸沉积区(a区)、中部沉积区(b区)和南山港岸外海滨沉积区(c区)(图7)。
崖州湾近岸沉积区主要位于港门港至角头鼻以西的近岸海域。本区样品分布较为分散,在三角图上S–E区均有分布(图8a);而在C–M图上(图9),该区沉积物C值主要介于200~1 000 μm,M值主要介于15~200 μm,沉积物以悬浮或滚动方式搬运,以悬浮搬运为主,表明该沉积区粒径变化较大,初始水动能和平均水动能均存在较大变化,水动力较为复杂。
崖州湾中部沉积区主要包括宁远河入海口及其西向延伸的中部海域。该沉积环境分区三角图式显示(图8b),本区样品主要落于S、A–Ⅰ和B–Ⅰ区;在C–M图上(图9),该区沉积物C值大于400 μm,多数样品C值甚至超过1 000 μm,M值亦介于100~1 000 μm,沉积物以滚动搬运为主,表明本区沉积物颗粒粗,初始水动能和平均水动能均较大,对应初始沉积动能对平均动能贡献较大,水动力强。
南山港岸外海滨沉积区分布于南山港以南的研究区南部海域。该沉积分区三角图式显示(图8c),在物质组成上主要分布于C、D及E区,在动力环境上主要分布于Ⅰ区与Ⅱ区的结合部;在C–M图上(图9),该区沉积物C值集中在100~500 μm,M值介于10~80 μm,沉积物以悬浮方式搬运为主,表明该沉积区沉积物颗粒较细,初始动能和后期沉积水动力均弱于前两个沉积区。
粒度结构散点图用于研究粒度参数之间的关系,推断沉积环境[26],在沉积动力分区的基础上,本文选取了分选系数(σ)–平均粒径(Mz)和偏度(Sk)–分选系数(σ)分析3个沉积区的环境异同(图10)。在分选系数–平均粒径图上,a区沉积物样品投点在2.5<Mz<7,1.6<σ<2.6的区域,体现了粒径变化大,分选较差–差的粒度特征,且随着粒径变细,分选有由好变差再变好的趋势;b区样品投点集中于Mz<2.5,2<σ的区域,体现了粒径粗,分选差的特征;c区样品投点分布于4.5<Mzσ<2.6的区域,粒径最小,且随着粒径变细,分选趋于变好。偏度–分选系数图显示,a区样品分选较差–差,偏度以对称、极正偏为主;b区样品分选极差,主要为正偏,反映了多组分的混合;c区样品随着分选变差,偏度趋于负偏,以细粒组分占优势。
崖州湾是一个开敞型河口海湾,全新世冰后期海平面在6 800~5 800 a BP达到现今高度后,崖州湾所处的海岸低洼区域遭受淹没而形成了向陆凹进的海湾[27]。沉积物粒度分布特征与水动力环境、物质来源密切相关。沉积水动力强弱、沉积过程中水动力的波动以及不同的物质来源将直接影响到沉积物颗粒分布,是沉积环境的具体体现。研究区沉积物主要来源于河流供沙、沿岸输沙以及外海潮流输沙等。由于波浪、潮流和径流的相互作用,以及海湾独特的地形地貌特征,研究区海底表层沉积物的物质组成、粒度特征及其分布较为复杂。自岸向海,沉积物平均粒径表现为由细变粗再变细的NEE向条带状分布特征;峰度在总体上表现为尖锐–中等偏宽平的特征,粒度分布较为分散,分选差;在C–M图上,沉积物主要分布于Ⅰ–Ⅴ区和Ⅶ区。依据沉积物粒度分布规律,结合水动力条件,将研究区分为崖州湾近岸沉积环境、中部沉积环境和南山港岸外海滨沉积环境。
该区域沉积物以粉砂质砂和砂质粉砂为主,砂组分主要分布于近岸一侧,粒径相对较大。沉积物来源较为复杂,既有宁远河入海的细颗粒的砂和粉砂,也有岸外水下沉积堆积体因波浪和潮流的蚀底再搬运而带来的泥沙,还有波浪和潮流自外海带来的悬浮物质。沉积动力主要为波浪作用,波浪运动至近岸浅水区,强烈的紊动使得波浪掀沙作用显著增强,并对岸滩造成冲蚀。因此,近岸一侧沉积物颗粒有变粗的趋势。相对于波浪作用,该区域潮流影响较弱。根据实测潮流资料,该区域潮流最小流速为3.9 cm/s,平均流速为25.9 cm/s,而外侧平均流速为50.2 cm/s,最大值达88.6 cm/s。潮流的向岸变小使外海搬运而来的物质越来越细。研究指出[28],波浪向岸传播时加强了涨落潮流速的不对称性,使涨潮流流速更大,有利于细颗粒沉积物继续向岸运移,从而使粉砂质等细颗粒物质在该区广泛分布。在C–M图上,该区初始水动能及平均水动能均具有较大的变化,指示了该区复杂的物质来源和水动力环境。
该区域为波浪、潮流和径流共同作用的高能砂砾质粗粒沉积区,是研究区砾石和砂组分集中分布的区域。沉积物类型主要包括砾质泥质砂、泥质砂质砾和砂,分选最差,以正偏为主,频率分布曲线表现为尖锐,表明该区沉积物颗粒物质主要来源于宁远河输运,粒径集中于粗粒端。C–M粒度象图也反映了该区沉积过程的水动力条件,C值较大,说明初始水动能较大,物质来源比较稳定,而高值与宁远河的输运有直接关系。宁远河有搬运距离短、高程变化大的特点,这对较高的初始水动能是很好的响应。洪季,尤其是台风暴雨等极端天气条件下,宁远河向海输送大量的泥沙。受南海和北部湾两个水域潮流系统的影响,研究区潮流特征较为复杂:在夏季,沿岸流自西向东,流速为0.10~0.36 m/s;而在冬季,沿岸流自东向西,且流速增强至0.51~0.77 m/s[29]。黏土、粉砂质等细粒入海物质向南以悬浮方式输移,而砾石、中粗砂、砂等粗颗粒入海物质,受上述沿岸流影响,向西偏南方向推移,并在海底地形的阻挡下消能沉积下来。实测侧扫声呐资料显示,东锣岛以南海域海底发育大量NWW向排列的带状沙脊和沙波群,分布面积约为16 km2,沙脊(波)群南北两侧均发育了侵蚀陡坎或陡坡,长度均在10 km以上。推测该沙脊(波)群为宁远河入海物质及外海物质在波浪和强潮流的搬运下而沉积于此发育的堆积地貌。枯季,宁远河入海泥沙减少,沙波和沙脊等水下堆积体在强潮流作用下遭受侵蚀,从而发育了侵蚀陡坎或陡坡地貌。
该区主要为相对低能的粉砂和黏土细粒沉积区,水深在15 m以深,海底地形平缓。沉积物粉砂组分含量在50%以上,黏土和砂组分含量则相对较小,一般不足20%。颗粒分选性较好,偏度值相对较低,呈近对称分布,频率曲线较为平坦。沉积物类型以砂质粉砂为主,占该区面积超70%;次为粉砂,向岸舌状分布于该区的东南部;在南山角岸外的局部海域还分布了少量的砾质粗颗粒沉积物,然砾含量却为全区最高,最高达63.9%。该区东部岸段大致呈SE走向,南山角为一向海凸出的基岩岬角,形成了向西敞开的次级海湾。外海波浪、沿岸潮流向海湾传播时受到南山角阻挡,导致沿岸泥沙向海湾外侧方向搬运。同时,宁远河细颗粒入海物质也向南运移,并随着西向的潮流搬运至研究区南部,遇开阔平缓海底地形而消能沉积下来。而南山角常年遭受强烈波浪、潮流侵蚀,在近岸形成了十分陡峭的海底地形,等深线平行于岸线密集排列,水深自岸向海迅速增大至20 m。再向海,海底地形逐渐趋于平缓,伴随着基岩岬角海岸侵蚀下来的碎块沉积物遂沉积于不远处的开阔地带。
一般认为,粒度参数分布的空间差异性可能指示了物质输运信息,而这种差异性被学者定义为“粒径趋势”[30]。许多学者都尝试从粒径趋势中寻找沉积动力学信息,并逐步建立了“粒度趋势分析”的方法[20,31-32]。其中,Gao等[20]以此为理论基础建立的沉积物粒径趋势分析模型,即Gao-Collins粒径趋势分析模型,并在潮滩、近海、潮汐汊道等多种环境中得到广泛验证。本文在粒度参数计算和研究区动力作用的基础上,采用Gao-Collins模型对区内沉积物输运趋势进行了计算分析。
在Gao-Collins模型中,特征距离的选取至关重要。高抒[25]建议最佳特征距离为最大采样间距,而贾建军等[33]则认为特征距离应略大于最大采样间距的$ \sqrt{2} $倍。研究区采样间距为2 km×4 km,为非等间距网格,难以考虑到所有方向上的粒径趋势。在计算中,选取了最大采样间距(4.00 km)和$ \sqrt{2} $倍采样间距(5.66 km)为特征距离进行了对比研究(图11)。
图11a图11b分别为特征距离4.00 km和5.66 km的粒径输运趋势,矢量箭头为沉积物输运方向,矢量大小表示这种输运趋势的显著性。从图中可以看出,两者的沉积物输运趋势总体上较为一致,但特征距离为4.00 km时,粒径运移趋势在研究区中部较为紊乱,难以判定有效的运移方向;而当特征距离为5.66 km时,粒径运移趋势规律性更为显著。
研究区沉积物在近岸与远岸、东部和西部表现为大致相反的输运趋势。在北部,沉积物输运方向为大致与岸线平行的近东向,表现为崖州湾岸滩的侵蚀和宁远河口的淤积;东部,宁远河入海口物质在径流和沿岸潮流作用下,向南方向运移;南部,在南山角岸外强潮流的作用下,沉积物输运方向为向西;而在西部,受北部湾环流和南海潮流体系的共同作用,沉积物运移方向发生北向改变。这样,在研究区中西部形成了一沉积物汇聚中心,近岸侵蚀物质、宁远河输运物质以及外海潮流输运物质均向该处运移。在海底地形特征上,研究区海底地形自岸向海呈阶梯状下降,但自东向西,海底坡降趋于减小,从而在研究区中、西部形成盆状形态的平缓地形,有利于大量物质在该区域聚集。
(1)崖州湾海域表层沉积物类型多样,主要有砾质泥质砂、砂、粉砂质砂、砂质粉砂和粉砂等类型;沉积物平均粒径变化范围较大,总体分布特征与沉积物类型相吻合,表现为自北向南由细变粗再变细的NEE向带状分布趋势;分选程度也呈现为自北向南较差–差–较差的变化特征。
(2)基于Flemming三角图式,结合沉积物粒度象图式、物质来源、水动力条件及海底地形特征,将崖州湾海域分为近岸沉积区、中部沉积区和南山港岸外滨海沉积区3个沉积动力环境。
(3)研究区沉积物分布特征主要受控于沉积物物源和水动力环境。在动力环境上,近岸主要受控于波浪掀沙和搬运作用;中部近岸主要受控于径流、波浪和潮流共同作用,远岸径流影响减弱;南部主要受控于潮流输沙作用,波浪掀沙与输沙作用减弱。在物质来源上,近岸主要为水下侵蚀岸坡再搬运及宁远河细粒物质,粒径较细,表现为波控沉积特征;中部主要为宁远河粗粒物质及外海物质,粒径粗,分选差,表现为河口沉积特征;南部主要为外海物质、宁远河细粒物质及少量基岩岬角侵蚀碎块,粒径细,分选相对较好。
(4)沉积物输移趋势分析显示,研究区沉积物表现为顺时针的输运趋势,其中西部为沉积物汇聚中心,近岸侵蚀物质、宁远河输运物质以及外海潮流输运物质均向该处运移。
