Polar ships always collide with various types of sea ice in varying degrees during their voyages in ice-covered regions, so sufficient fatigue strength reserves are essential. This paper proposes a cumulative damage analysis method for ice-induced fatigue on polar ship structures based on field measured ice loads. Firstly, according to the statistical analysis of the field data of ice thickness and sailing speed of RV Xue Long during the China’s 8th Arctic Scientific Expedition, ice-induced fatigue conditions are constructed within the ice thickness range of 0.5−2.5 m and the sailing speed range of 2−12 kn. The joint probability distribution of the two parameters is taken as the occurrence probability of fatigue conditions. Then, the time histories of ice loads under typical conditions are identified based on the support vector machine method. The key positions and corresponding hot spot stresses are determined by dynamic analysis. The rainflow counting algorithm is adopted to count the number of stress cycles. Finally, the fatigue damage during the voyage is further calculated by S-N curve and Miner linear cumulative damage theory, which verifies the ice navigation safety of RV Xue Long. This paper has certain reference significance for the ice-resistant design and safety evaluation of polar ship structures.

极地船舶在冰区航行中经常与各种类型的海冰发生不同程度的碰撞,充足的疲劳强度储备至关重要。本文提出了基于实测冰载荷的极地船舶结构冰激疲劳的累积损伤分析方法。以“雪龙”号极地考察船为研究对象,通过对我国第8次北极科学考察中的冰厚和航速等现场测量数据进行统计分析,在冰厚0.5~2.5 m、航速2~12 kn范围内构造冰激疲劳工况,并将二者的联合概率分布作为疲劳工况的发生概率;基于支持向量机方法反演识别出典型工况下的冰载荷时程,通过动力学分析确定关键位置及相应的热点应力,并采用雨流计数法统计应力循环次数;最后通过S-N曲线和Miner线性累积损伤理论进一步计算该航次内的疲劳损伤度,验证了“雪龙”号在冰区航行的安全性。本文对极地船舶结构的抗冰设计和安全评估具有一定的参考意义。

极地船舶在冰区航行中经常与各种类型的海冰发生不同程度的碰撞,充足的疲劳强度储备至关重要。本文提出了基于实测冰载荷的极地船舶结构冰激疲劳的累积损伤分析方法。以“雪龙”号极地考察船为研究对象,通过对我国第8次北极科学考察中的冰厚和航速等现场测量数据进行统计分析,在冰厚0.5~2.5 m、航速2~12 kn范围内构造冰激疲劳工况,并将二者的联合概率分布作为疲劳工况的发生概率;基于支持向量机方法反演识别出典型工况下的冰载荷时程,通过动力学分析确定关键位置及相应的热点应力,并采用雨流计数法统计应力循环次数;最后通过S-N曲线和Miner线性累积损伤理论进一步计算该航次内的疲劳损伤度,验证了“雪龙”号在冰区航行的安全性。本文对极地船舶结构的抗冰设计和安全评估具有一定的参考意义。

Polar ships always collide with various types of sea ice in varying degrees during their voyages in ice-covered regions, so sufficient fatigue strength reserves are essential. This paper proposes a cumulative damage analysis method for ice-induced fatigue on polar ship structures based on field measured ice loads. Firstly, according to the statistical analysis of the field data of ice thickness and sailing speed of RV Xue Long during the China’s 8th Arctic Scientific Expedition, ice-induced fatigue conditions are constructed within the ice thickness range of 0.5−2.5 m and the sailing speed range of 2−12 kn. The joint probability distribution of the two parameters is taken as the occurrence probability of fatigue conditions. Then, the time histories of ice loads under typical conditions are identified based on the support vector machine method. The key positions and corresponding hot spot stresses are determined by dynamic analysis. The rainflow counting algorithm is adopted to count the number of stress cycles. Finally, the fatigue damage during the voyage is further calculated by S-N curve and Miner linear cumulative damage theory, which verifies the ice navigation safety of RV Xue Long. This paper has certain reference significance for the ice-resistant design and safety evaluation of polar ship structures.

随着北极航道的逐步开辟,我国也在积极推动北极战略的制定与实施[1],提出将北极航道打造成“冰上丝绸之路”。北极地区对于我国的国家安全和经济发展具有重大战略意义[2]。我国对北极地区的科学考察始于1999年,至今已成功开展13次。北极地区的自然条件恶劣,常年被冰雪覆盖,环境温度很低。低温会影响船用钢材的力学性能,使其韧性降低、脆性增强,导致发生脆性断裂的可能性增大;另有研究表明,钢材的屈服强度和极限强度也会增大,进而影响结构的疲劳性能[3]。与此同时,极地船舶在冰区航行过程中与海冰不断发生相互作用。由于极地工况的多变性与不确定性,船舶结构长期受幅值多变、频率较高的交变冰载荷作用,从而产生周期性累积损伤,更容易发生疲劳破坏。因此,对结构中的关键位置开展冰激疲劳损伤研究可为极地船舶的安全运营提供必要保障。
冰载荷的大小和作用方式对于极地船舶的结构设计具有重要参考意义。近年来,挪威、芬兰、加拿大等国学者相继通过实船现场测量和室内模型试验的方法对船−冰相互作用过程中的冰载荷进行测量[4-6]。我国在船舶结构冰载荷现场测量领域尚处于起步阶段,目前的研究方向主要集中于测量方案设计与优化、冰载荷反演识别与统计分析等方面[7-10]。基于S-N曲线的时域分析是目前最为通用的船舶结构冰激疲劳强度计算方法。首先,通过构造应力幅值分布的数学模型[11]、对现场测量数据进行统计分析[12]或采用数值方法模拟船−冰相互作用过程[13]等方式获取热点应力;然后,通过雨流计数法对热点应力时程进行应力循环次数统计;最后,结合疲劳工况的概率分布以及S-N曲线,采用疲劳损伤理论计算累积疲劳损伤度[14]
针对具体船型,Chai等[15]对2007年3月斯瓦尔巴特群岛附近海域的冰载荷短期极值进行了概率统计,应用威布尔分布、三参数指数分布等模型估算了冰激应力范围的概率分布,并基于S-N曲线进一步评估挪威KV Svalbard号海警船的短期冰激疲劳损伤;Kim[16]提出了一种用于评估碎冰区航行时冰区船舶疲劳损伤的简化方法,基于设计初期的冰阻力和船型信息即可估算出局部冰载荷,分别使用简化方法、数值方法和船级社推荐做法对韩国IBRVAraon号破冰考察船在波罗的海实际冰况下的疲劳损伤进行了计算,验证了简化方法的有效性和适用性;罗本永等[17]基于英国劳氏船级社Ship Right FDA ICE指南[18],对两艘油轮和两艘LNG运输船的舷侧骨材疲劳强度进行评估,并验证了提高节点疲劳强度的可行方法。目前,对极地船舶冰区航行中冰激结构疲劳的累积损伤研究受到越来越多的重视。
本文以“雪龙”号极地考察船为研究对象,基于我国第8次北极科学考察中的冰厚和航速等现场测量数据构造冰激疲劳工况,采用支持向量机方法反演识别典型工况下的冰载荷时程,通过动力学分析确定船体关键位置及相应的热点应力,并进一步计算该航次内的累积疲劳损伤度。
海冰与结构相互作用过程中产生的交变冰载荷是诱发极地船舶结构疲劳破坏的重要因素。工程中广泛使用的S-N曲线可准确描述结构所受交变应力幅值$ S $与应力循环次数$ N $之间的关系,其表达式为

式中,$ m $$ K $均为疲劳参数,由试验拟合得到。
本文依据中国船级社《船体结构疲劳强度指南》[19],采用图1中的C曲线评估非焊接节点(船体外板)的冰激疲劳强度,采用D曲线评估焊接节点(舷侧肋骨的腹板与翼缘连接处)的冰激疲劳强度,相应的疲劳参数列于表1[20]
疲劳损伤理论是分析极地船舶结构疲劳损伤度的重要依据[21]。Miner线性累积损伤理论凭借其原理简单、使用方便的特性被普遍应用于工程实际[22]。该理论认为,每个交变载荷对结构的损伤是互相独立的,与加载历程无关。通过一个航次内$ k $个疲劳工况的$ l $个交变载荷所产生的疲劳损伤度$ {D}_{ji} $$i=\mathrm{1,\;2},\;\cdots ,\;l; j=\mathrm{1,\;2},\;\cdots ,\;k$)进行线性累加可求得累积疲劳损伤度$ D $$0\leqslant D\leqslant1$)。当$ D=1 $ 时,结构发生疲劳破坏。具体可表示为

式中,$ {t}_{j} $$ {t}_{\mathrm{i}\mathrm{c}\mathrm{e}} $分别为第$ j $个疲劳工况的作用时间和冰区航行总时间;$ {P}_{j} $为第$ j $个疲劳工况的出现概率;$ {n}_{i} $$ {N}_{i} $分别为结构在第$ j $个疲劳工况的第$ i $个交变载荷下实际经历的应力循环次数和直至发生疲劳破坏时总共经历的应力循环次数;$ {n}_{ji} $$ {N}_{ji} $则为第$ j $个疲劳工况出现概率为$ {P}_{j} $时的实际应力循环次数与总应力循环次数。
对我国第8次北极科学考察中冰厚实测数据的统计结果(图2)表明,冰厚$ {h}_{\mathrm{i}} $可由高斯函数表征,拟合优度$ {R}^{2}=0.980 $,概率密度函数$ f\left({h}_{\mathrm{i}}\right) $可表示为

本文选取的冰厚范围为0.5~2.5 m、$ N=10 $$ \Delta {h}_{\mathrm{i}}= 0.2\;\mathrm{m} $。冰厚子工况的划分及相应的出现概率列于表2
对我国第8次北极科学考察中航速实测数据的统计结果(图3)表明,航速$ {V}_{\mathrm{s}} $亦可由高斯函数表征,拟合优度$ {R}^{2}=0.985 $,概率密度函数$ f\left({V}_{\mathrm{s}}\right) $可表示为

本文选取的航速范围为2~12 kn、$ M=10 $$ \Delta {V}_{\mathrm{s}}= 1\;\mathrm{k}\mathrm{n} $。航速子工况的划分及相应的出现概率列于表3
本文的冰激疲劳工况仅考虑冰厚与航速两个因素。假设冰厚与航速互相独立,则第$ j $个冰激疲劳工况的出现概率$ {P}_{j} $$j=\mathrm{1,\;2},\;\cdots ,\;k$)为该工况对应冰厚与航速子工况的联合概率分布,即

冰激疲劳工况的具体划分及相应的出现概率如图4所示。由此可知,航速4~8 kn、冰厚1~2 m是冰激疲劳工况经常出现的区域。本文重点考察“雪龙”号在该区域内18种主要典型工况下的累积疲劳损伤度,约占全部典型工况的60%。
采用壳单元建立如图5所示包含船体外板、内层甲板、舷侧肋骨和舷侧纵桁的“雪龙”号艏部结构模型。参考EH36高强度低温钢设置模型的材料属性,具体参数列于表4
为提高计算效率,截取模型的右舷部分进行疲劳分析,横向边界设置为对称约束,纵向边界设置为固定约束。在图5a中红色区域的船体外板上以面载荷的形式沿内法线方向(图中红色箭头方向)施加冰载荷。该区域位于水线附近的冰带区,为我国第8次北极科学考察时在“雪龙”号上布置的冰载荷监测区域,划分网格时对其进行细化处理,最终效果如图5b所示。
船−冰相互作用是一个复杂的动力学耦合过程,现阶段还难以准确对冰载荷进行直接测量[23]。相比之下,冰载荷引起的应变响应可以方便地通过在船舶结构上安装应变传感器直接测得。因此通常采用间接方法,即根据应变反演识别冰载荷。近年来,国内外学者提出了多种实用的冰载荷识别方法,如影响系数矩阵法[24-27]、格林函数法[7,8]、支持向量机法[28-30]等。
支持向量机(Support Vector Machine, SVM)是一种经典的监督式机器学习算法,若分别将应变$ \mathit{\epsilon } $和冰载荷$ p\left(\mathit{\epsilon }\right) $作为训练样本的输入变量和输出变量,则可通过支持向量机回归算法的训练建立两者之间的内在联系,实现对冰载荷的反演识别。基于最小二乘支持向量机回归算法的极地船舶结构冰载荷反演识别模型可简单表示为

式中,$ {\alpha }_{k} $$ b $分别为拉格朗日算子和超平面偏移量,均可通过训练样本数据确定;$K\left(\mathit{\epsilon },\;{\mathit{\epsilon }}_{k}\right)$为满足Mercer定理的径向基核函数。
基于上述方法,本文重点对“雪龙”号在3.3节中的18种主要典型工况的冰载荷时程进行了反演识别,图6展示了两种典型工况下的反演识别结果。
首先,通过动力学分析确定极地船舶结构在4.2节中得到的冰载荷时程作用下的关键位置与热点应力。按照图5a所示的加载区域及方向分别施加图6所示两种典型工况下的冰载荷时程,作用时间均为10 min,得到的疲劳损伤分布及关键位置如图7所示。
由图可知,虽然两种典型工况下的冰厚、航速差别较大,但关键位置的分布较为固定,主要集中在艏部水线附近冰带区内舷侧肋骨的翼缘处及其与内层甲板的交界处。然而在真实的船体结构中,舷侧肋骨与内层甲板交界处往往会开孔并以肘板连接。在有限元建模中,由于很难在该处实现精细处理,因此进行了简化,从而在动力学分析时出现了应力集中现象,故本文忽略编号为15904和15666以及类似区域内的关键位置。
由此,可以认为关键位置主要集中在艏部水线附近冰带区内的舷侧肋骨翼缘处,两种典型工况下关键位置的节点编号及热点应力列于表5。本文重点考察大多数典型工况中普遍存在的3个关键位置,即编号为15983、15687、26507的节点处的疲劳损伤度。
下面采用雨流计数法统计不同热点应力幅值对应的应力循环次数[31],即2.2节中的$ {n}_{i} $。最后由式(1)至式(4)计算极地船舶结构在各典型工况下各关键位置处的疲劳损伤度$ {D}_{ji} $,并通过线性累加求得累积疲劳损伤度$ D $,18种主要典型工况下的情况列于表6
由此可知,节点编号为15983、15687、26507的关键位置处的累积疲劳损伤度分别为$ 5.46\times {10}^{-3} $$ 5.05\times {10}^{-3} $$ 3.68\times {10}^{-3} $。由于主要典型工况下的累积疲劳损伤度约占全部典型工况的60%,因此整个航次内上述3个关键位置处的累积疲劳损伤度分别为$ 9.10\times {10}^{-3} $$ 8.42\times {10}^{-3} $$ 6.13\times {10}^{-3} $
以上结果是“雪龙”号在北极单次科学考察中的损伤度。该数据为进一步考虑其在南极和北极冰区航行中的累积疲劳损伤提供了参考依据。
极地船舶在冰区航行中经常与不同类型的海冰发生不同程度的碰撞作用,并导致船舶结构的疲劳损伤。本文提出了基于实测冰载荷的极地船舶结构冰激疲劳的累积损伤分析方法。以“雪龙”号极地考察船为研究对象,基于我国第8次北极科学考察中的现场测量数据,确定了冰厚与航速的概率分布与变化范围,并据此构造冰激疲劳工况;基于支持向量机方法反演识别出典型工况下的冰载荷时程,通过动力学分析确定关键位置及相应的热点应力,并采用雨流计数法统计应力循环次数;最后通过S-N曲线和Miner线性累积损伤理论进一步计算该航次内的累积疲劳损伤度。结果表明,关键位置主要集中在艏部水线附近冰带区内的舷侧肋骨翼缘处,今后应对该部位进行重点维护和冰区加强;整个航次内3个关键位置处的累积疲劳损伤度分别为$ 9.10\times {10}^{-3} $$ 8.42\times {10}^{-3} $$ 6.13\times {10}^{-3} $。在此基础上,进一步考虑“雪龙”号在我国历次南、北极科学考察中的冰厚、航速、冰载荷、作用时间等现场测量数据,可计算其累积疲劳损伤度,进而合理确定冰激结构疲劳寿命。
