To investigate the influence of pick cone angle on coal-rock fragmentation and dust generation characteristics during underground roadheading operations, a multi-scale integrated approach combining experimental tests and discrete element method (DEM) simulations was adopted. Four picks with cone angles of 78, 92, 105 and 118° were selected as research objects. Roadheading cutting tests were conducted to analyze the particle size distribution of generated debris and dust. DEM simulations using the PBM in Particle Flow Code (PFC) software accurately reproduced the entire process of coal-rock fragmentation and dust generation during roadheading. The evolution trends of crack quantity, crack type, number of minimum-sized discrete particles, and ejection velocity were analyzed under two operational modes of the cutting head: penetration and slewing. The results indicate that as the cone angle increases, the coarseness index (CI) of coal wall debris decreases from 728.92 to 696.91, while the dust proportion increases from 0.4% to 0.67%, demonstrating that the degree of coal wall fragmentation and dust generation increases with pick cone angle. The fragmentation index rises and the uniformity index declines, indicating a broader dust particle size distribution and a higher proportion of fine dust particles. Simulation results show that the total number of cracks on the coal wall increases from 22 980 to 27 272, with tensile cracks consistently accounting for over 73% of the total. The number of minimum-sized free particles increases from 371 to 459, and their average initial ejection velocity decreases from 0.250 m/s to 0.221 m/s. In summary, increasing the pick cone angle intensifies dust generation to a certain extent, but helps suppress the dispersion range of dust.

为探究煤矿井下掘进过程中截齿锥角对煤岩的破碎产尘特征,基于试验与离散元仿真模拟(DEM)多尺度综合分析方法,以78、92、105及118°锥角截齿为对象,通过掘进截割试验分析产生碎屑及粉尘粒度分布情况;采用颗粒流分析程序(PFC)软件中的平行黏结模型(PBM)进行仿真,准确模拟掘进中煤岩破碎产尘全过程;在截割头钻入和横摆2种工况下分析裂纹数量、种类以及最小离散颗粒数量、抛掷速度的发展变化趋势。结果表明:锥角增大时,煤壁碎屑粗糙度指数(CI)从728.92下降到696.91、粉尘占比从0.4%增至0.67%,煤壁破碎程度与产尘量随截齿锥角增大而提升;粉尘破碎指数上升、均匀性指数下降,表明产尘粒度分布范围扩大且小粒径粉尘比重增加;仿真模拟中煤壁裂纹总数从22 980条增长至27 272条,且拉伸裂纹占比均超 73%;最小粒径游离颗粒数量从371个增至459个,平均初始抛掷速度从0.250 m/s减至0.221 m/s。综上,增大截齿锥角在一定程度上加剧了产尘,但有助于抑制粉尘扩散范围。

为探究煤矿井下掘进过程中截齿锥角对煤岩的破碎产尘特征,基于试验与离散元仿真模拟(DEM)多尺度综合分析方法,以78、92、105及118°锥角截齿为对象,通过掘进截割试验分析产生碎屑及粉尘粒度分布情况;采用颗粒流分析程序(PFC)软件中的平行黏结模型(PBM)进行仿真,准确模拟掘进中煤岩破碎产尘全过程;在截割头钻入和横摆2种工况下分析裂纹数量、种类以及最小离散颗粒数量、抛掷速度的发展变化趋势。结果表明:锥角增大时,煤壁碎屑粗糙度指数(CI)从728.92下降到696.91、粉尘占比从0.4%增至0.67%,煤壁破碎程度与产尘量随截齿锥角增大而提升;粉尘破碎指数上升、均匀性指数下降,表明产尘粒度分布范围扩大且小粒径粉尘比重增加;仿真模拟中煤壁裂纹总数从22 980条增长至27 272条,且拉伸裂纹占比均超 73%;最小粒径游离颗粒数量从371个增至459个,平均初始抛掷速度从0.250 m/s减至0.221 m/s。综上,增大截齿锥角在一定程度上加剧了产尘,但有助于抑制粉尘扩散范围。

To investigate the influence of pick cone angle on coal-rock fragmentation and dust generation characteristics during underground roadheading operations, a multi-scale integrated approach combining experimental tests and discrete element method (DEM) simulations was adopted. Four picks with cone angles of 78, 92, 105 and 118° were selected as research objects. Roadheading cutting tests were conducted to analyze the particle size distribution of generated debris and dust. DEM simulations using the PBM in Particle Flow Code (PFC) software accurately reproduced the entire process of coal-rock fragmentation and dust generation during roadheading. The evolution trends of crack quantity, crack type, number of minimum-sized discrete particles, and ejection velocity were analyzed under two operational modes of the cutting head: penetration and slewing. The results indicate that as the cone angle increases, the coarseness index (CI) of coal wall debris decreases from 728.92 to 696.91, while the dust proportion increases from 0.4% to 0.67%, demonstrating that the degree of coal wall fragmentation and dust generation increases with pick cone angle. The fragmentation index rises and the uniformity index declines, indicating a broader dust particle size distribution and a higher proportion of fine dust particles. Simulation results show that the total number of cracks on the coal wall increases from 22 980 to 27 272, with tensile cracks consistently accounting for over 73% of the total. The number of minimum-sized free particles increases from 371 to 459, and their average initial ejection velocity decreases from 0.250 m/s to 0.221 m/s. In summary, increasing the pick cone angle intensifies dust generation to a certain extent, but helps suppress the dispersion range of dust.

煤矿井下生产过程中的产尘问题制约着行业的安全高效发展[1-2]。掘进工作面作为煤矿生产的前沿环节,因其作业空间狭小、机械设备集中、工艺环节复杂等特点,成为矿井粉尘产生与扩散的核心区域。据统计,掘进工作面粉尘质量浓度达1 000~3 000mg/m3[3],远超国家职业卫生标准限值(总粉尘质量浓度≤8mg/m3),不仅严重威胁矿工职业健康,更易引发煤尘爆炸事故,造成重大人员伤亡和财产损失。随着煤矿智能化建设步伐加快,高效掘进设备的普及在提升生产效率的同时,也加剧了粉尘产生强度,传统粉尘治理技术面临严峻挑战[4]
为精准防控粉尘,国内外学者进行了大量研究,其中Bhaskar等[5]研究了风流场中粒子的碰撞、分散、沉降、二次扬起等作用特性,建立了一维稳态流场下的粉尘扩散方程。Patankar等[6]开发了一套基于欧拉-拉格朗日的颗粒流数值模型,构建了煤矿粉尘运移的高精度多相流仿真体系。高建良等[7]通过构建压入式通风系统的射流区、回流区与涡流区三维粉尘浓度数值模型,发现回流区与涡流区呈现显著的高浓度粉尘富集特征,其质量浓度分别达到理论峰值且空间分布呈现均质化趋势。目前,掘进工作面的粉尘防治技术主要有除尘器除尘[8]、通风除尘[9]、喷雾降尘[10-12]等,实际应用时需要在生产过程中实测产尘粒度分布特征后,才能对通风参数、喷雾工艺等进行针对性调整,难以在掘进工程设计时同步完成粉尘防治的优化布置。这种滞后性导致当前许多防尘措施的实际运行效率不高,为解决这一问题需从产尘源头入手。
源头处产尘为截割头破碎煤体产生的小粒径颗粒,受截割参数的影响较大。现有对截割参数的研究大多针对截割效率,即单位时间截割煤岩的体积或质量[13-14],通常粉尘产生并不作为研究侧重点。鉴于此,笔者拟通过相似截割破碎产尘试验,采用不同锥角的截齿截割煤壁,分析煤岩破碎产尘过程中碎屑和粉尘的粒度分布特征;同时基于离散单元法(Discrete Element Method,DEM)构建掘进机截割头割煤过程的颗粒流数值模型,动态模拟相似截割试验中煤体微观结构的渐进破碎过程;通过试验和仿真模拟分析,揭示截齿锥角参数对煤岩破碎及产尘的影响,以期为截齿几何优化和产尘控制提供理论支撑。
煤岩受截齿压迫侵入时,破碎产尘过程大致分为如图1所示的4个阶段:①破碎区形成;②密实核形成;③裂纹产生与发展;④密实核释放煤粉。
齿尖接触煤岩表面时产生压力,煤岩浅表产生细微弹性形变,压力超过应力极限后发生塑性形变,形成破碎区。破碎区内持续传入能量,将破碎煤岩压缩成粉化核,能量继续输入导致相邻煤岩破碎粉化,致使粉化核密度不断升高、体积不断扩大。密实核扩大到一定程度后,截齿向煤岩体输入的能量开始向周围传递,密实核与其外部煤岩的交界处开始萌生微裂纹,煤岩的脆性使内部微裂纹迅速扩展、合并形成宏观裂纹。多条宏观裂纹迅速向外扩展,裂纹贯穿煤岩后大体积碎块开始崩落,密实核的应力约束状态被解除,积累的势能将密实核以很高速度沿着截齿锥角排出,密实核内所含的大量细微煤岩颗粒被释放,形成粉尘。
图2为掘进机截割试验平台,该平台主要由截割系统、传感系统、测控系统等组成,截割头和截齿均可拆卸,转速和牵引力可通过操作系统调节。试验煤样选自宁夏某煤矿综掘工作面煤岩巷。
利用掘进机截割试验平台,研究4种不同锥角截齿对煤壁的破碎及产尘特征。一次试验设置总时长为35s,包含2种工况,其中,钻入工况、横摆工况时长各为17.5s。试验将截割头移动至煤壁中心处,设置旋转速度为46 r/min,牵引速度为20mm/s,顺序为先钻入后横摆。依次置换78、92、105和118°锥角截齿截割煤岩。待粉尘完全沉降后,收集煤岩碎屑。将收集到的碎屑分别筛分,筛分试验选用20、10、0.85(20目)、0.30(50目)、0.18mm(80目)和125(120目)、75 μm(200目)的标准筛,筛分后测量所有筛上碎屑质量,再通过激光粒度分析仪分析直径小于75μm的粉尘颗粒。
为分析截割破煤程度及碎屑粒径分布特征,引入粗糙度指数(Coarseness Index,CI)[15]作为评价指标,它是一个无量纲常数,可由筛分后的碎屑粒径分布数据算出不同网筛的筛余率,将筛余率累加即可得出。具体表达式为[16]:

式中:Di为筛余率,即某孔径区间内碎屑质量占比;i为筛分粒径区间序号(i为正整数,从1开始计数);Wi为筛分试验后大于某一粒径尺寸的煤壁碎屑质量;W为所筛分碎屑总质量;n为筛分粒径区间的总数量。图3为截割后碎屑筛分结果,表1为不同锥角截齿割煤碎屑情况。
通过试验数据得出,4种锥角截齿在相同的截割条件下截割产生碎屑的CI从728.92下降到696.91,CI随着锥角的增大而减小,即锥角越大,截齿对煤壁的破碎程度越高。75μm以下粉尘颗粒占比从0.4%增加到0.67%,反映出产尘量随锥角的增大而增大。
煤体为脆性材料,脆性材料破碎产生的粉尘粒度分布通常呈现偏态分布,对数正态分布函数可以近似表征。但不同材料所产生粉尘的偏倚系数往往不同,且脆性材料粉尘偏倚系数一般较大,故选用Rosin-Rammler分布函数。为避免对量纲直接取对数,引入无量纲粒径D=d/d0,其中,d0=1 μm,则分布函数具体表达式为:

式中:r为累计质量分数的小数形式,r=R/100,其中,R为累计质量分数,%;D为无量纲粒径;d为粉尘粒径,μm;a为破碎程度指标;s为均匀性指数。
Rosin-Rammler分布函数与特定的粒度频数分布密切相关,式(4)中,系数和指数通过激光粒度仪测定数据求出,拟合测定数据,得到拟合曲线Y=sX+c。其中,$X=lgd,Y=lg(2-lgR),c=lg(a/ln\left.10\right)。$根据拟合激光粒度分析仪所得数据(表2)绘制不同锥角截齿产尘的Rosin-Rammler曲线,如图4所示(图4中,横、纵坐标分别表示粒径和筛余率的相应对数变换)。
图4中,所有拟合曲线的决定系数R2均大于0.98,具有较高可靠度。将拟合得到的s值和a值计入表3中。a值越大,表示产生的小粒径颗粒越多,即破碎程度高、产尘量大;s表示粒径的均一程度,s值越大,表示粒径分布范围越小,即破碎程度低、产尘量小。
表3可知:截割试验中,a值随截齿锥角的增大而增大,s值随锥角的增大而减小,说明锥角的增大对煤壁的截割破碎程度越高,产尘量越大。
DEM将材料离散为刚性颗粒集合,基于牛顿运动定律(力-位移关系)计算每个颗粒的平动与转动。颗粒间通过接触传递力,具体计算方式由所采用的接触模型定义,而不同的接触模型会导致颗粒系统表现出不同的宏观力学行为。通过调整颗粒的细观力学参数,使模型整体的宏观力学响应贴近真实材料。依据不同的接触模型计算颗粒间的接触力,包括法向力和切向力,接触力的大小和方向取决于颗粒的相对位置、相对运动以及材料属性。计算时常采用较小的时间步长,在每个时间步长内重复进行运动方程求解和接触力计算,逐步推进颗粒系统的演化,从而模拟材料的力学行为。
天然胶结材料因颗粒尺寸、胶结分布及矿物组成的差异呈现强度各项异性和非均质性,平行黏结模型(Parallel Bond Model,PBM)通过力与力矩的传递,较好地模拟煤岩中的天然胶结效应,如图5所示。煤岩中的胶结作用限制颗粒旋转,PBM可通过力矩传递机制自然刻画这种现象。模型中的黏结被赋予有限面积,真实模拟胶结接触面的应力分布。黏结处的拉应力或剪应力超过预设强度时,黏结断裂,符合煤岩的脆性破坏特征。模拟煤岩的破碎过程时,需要兼顾煤的脆性破坏特性、动态加载响应以及计算效率,故选取PBM,图6为PBM本构关系图。
参数标定是构建真实物理模型的核心步骤,需将煤岩宏观力学特性转化为细观颗粒接触参数。煤岩宏观参数通过相关力学试验得出(表4)。宏观参数是标定的目标值,确保模型与实质煤岩力学行为一致。通过颗粒流分析程序(Particle Flow Code,PFC)3D离散元分析软件建立单轴压缩和巴西劈裂模型,采用“试错法”反复调整细观参数仿真,直至得出数据与宏观参数差值最小,所得颗粒流模型细观力学参数见表5
掘进割煤破碎产生过程如图7所示,图7中,煤壁仿真模型为长1.5m、高1.2m、厚0.6m的长方体,与试验保持一致。若考虑将煤岩离散成微观尺度下的颗粒,其仿真颗粒数量将远远超过现有计算能力范围,因此选择一定宏观尺度定性分析煤岩截割过程,建成后的煤壁模型由67 491个半径为9 ~15 mm区间内的球体颗粒随机生成,颗粒间最大半径与最小半径比值为1.66。为保证仿真煤壁不崩落及模拟过程顺利进行,需在模拟时固定除开挖面外的其他平面。掘进过程,模拟无风流条件下截齿割煤产生的自由颗粒运动,与试验的室内环境保持一致。截割头使用Rhinoceros三维建模软件建模,共建立4种不同截齿锥角的截割头。掘进过程中不考虑截齿磨损,设定截割头为刚性体,将其定义为刚性墙体。设置掘进过程中截割头的牵引速度为0.02 m/s,旋转速度为46 r/min。
截割头向前移动时,前端圆头处截齿接触煤岩,截齿尖端侵入煤岩内部,对煤岩颗粒施加力的作用,迫使颗粒产生位移从而导致黏结键断裂,进一步形成裂纹。颗粒相对位移方位的不同导致形成拉伸、剪切2种不同类型的裂纹。图7b中,此时与煤壁接触的有效截齿数量较少,形成的裂纹数量和范围较小,即密实核和自由面的形成较少,故而剥离颗粒较少。截割头向前钻入煤壁,与煤壁接触的有效截齿数量增加,对煤壁内部应力增大,造成更多煤颗粒间黏结键断裂,更多颗粒被剥离煤壁。由于截割头向前运动,大量自由煤颗粒聚集在截割头前段,无法释放。后续截割过程中,更多截齿的参与导致更多能量的传入,能量的积累使密实核数量激增,同时裂纹的不断扩展使大体积碎块脱落煤壁产生新自由面,截割头前段处颗粒积蓄的势能使大量颗粒得到快速释放(图7c)。
截割头向左横移时,其右侧与煤壁之间产生大量自由面,右侧处颗粒完全释放。横移过程中被剥离颗粒大部分被抛掷在煤壁前侧,少量存于截割过后的空腔内。
图8为4种锥角截齿破碎煤壁的模拟结果,图中绿色圆盘表示此处颗粒在被截割时颗粒间黏结键断裂方式为拉伸破坏,断裂同时标记为形成一处拉伸微裂纹,蓝色圆盘则表示颗粒间黏结键发生剪切破坏,相应记为一处剪切微裂纹。4种锥角截齿截割时,裂纹均为从截割头处萌生而后扩展到周围煤壁。拉伸、剪切微裂纹数量和总裂纹数的增长模式相似,数量随截齿锥角的增大而增加。锥角78°时钻入(10 049条)和横移(12 931条)产生的总裂纹数均为最少,118°锥角时钻入(12 859条)和横移(14 413条)均为最多。且4种锥角在2种工况下产生的拉裂纹占比均在73%以上。
在截割参数如牵引力、截割头转速等条件相同时,截齿结构参数的改变导致同一时刻下与截齿接触的颗粒数量和面积不同。根据平行黏结特性,大锥角截齿与煤壁颗粒接触时,接触面积增大,应力场覆盖范围更广,能使更多的黏结键达到临界状态,导致更大体积的煤体进入塑性形变阶段,促进更多裂纹萌生。同时大锥角截齿的宽接触面使主裂纹前段产生更高的应力强度因子,当强度因子大于等于断裂韧度时,裂纹分叉概率增加,易形成多级微裂纹网络。裂纹数量增多即煤体内部破碎程度提高,同时更多的裂纹形成更多自由面,造成更多煤块崩落及煤粉释放,与试验得出的结论一致。从图8得出,4种锥角截割时产生的拉裂纹数量要远远大于剪切裂纹数量,表明裂纹的扩展主要是由拉伸损伤引起的。煤壁的抗拉强度远低于抗压强度,符合张拉主导破坏的基本条件。
仿真模拟中,最小离散单元呈现出高弹射速度、优先分离等动力学特征,这与真实粉尘行为高度一致,能够反映截割过程中的能量传递与破碎机制。通过统计最小半径游离颗粒的数量变化与速度分布,有效评估粉尘产生发展趋势。
记录被截割头从煤岩剥离且所受黏结完全破坏的最小半径颗粒数量,数据见表6
表6可知:截割产生的最小颗粒数量同截齿角度成正相关,试验所得不同锥角截齿产尘占比从0.4%增长到0.67%,模拟结果同试验一致。
被剥离颗粒的初始抛掷速度决定了颗粒脱离煤体后的动能及运动轨迹。高速度颗粒具备更大动能克服空气阻力及重力沉降,延长悬浮时间,扩大弥散范围;低速度颗粒更易在近处沉降,形成局部高浓度堆积。初始速度源于截齿-煤体相互作用引发的动态断裂过程,在PFC中表现为截齿冲击荷载在煤体内形成应力场,当局部应力场超过黏结键强度时释放的能量转化为颗粒动能。黏结断裂瞬间原约束力的突然卸载导致颗粒获得加速度。记录剥离出所有最小颗粒的抛掷速度,得到其平均初始抛掷速度的变化情况,如图9所示。
图9可知:钻入截割开始后的第1~4s内,最小颗粒的平均初始抛掷速度剧增,达到最大值后,呈波动式下降且逐渐平缓;横摆截割时颗粒平均初始抛掷速度变化幅度较小,始终围绕均值波动。4种截齿剥离煤壁颗粒的最大平均初始抛掷速度在0.45~0.65m/s内,整个截割过程中的平均抛掷速度在78°时最大,为0.250m/s;118°时最小,为0.221m/s。
小锥角截齿具有更尖锐的几何特征,这种“锐”接触使切向应力分量增大,促使更多煤体从压碎转变为剪切滑移破坏。一方面,剪切破坏所伴随的剪胀效应使颗粒沿剪切面法向获得附加速度增量;另一方面,剪切带内颗粒间协同运动增强,动量传递效率提高。同时,小锥角截齿在接触区域形成的压碎区范围较小,即形成塑性变形的比例较低。因此,机械能更多地转化为颗粒动能,表现为更高的抛掷速度。与之相反,大锥角截齿的“钝”接触扩大了应力作用面积,部分能量在更大的接触区内通过摩擦、挤压等形式耗散,同时产生更多自由面,塑性变形占比增加,转化为颗粒动能占比相应减少,从而导致其抛掷速度较低。
1) 相似截割试验得出,截齿锥角按78、92、105和118°依次增大时,截割产生碎屑的CI从728.92下降到696.91;75μm以下粉尘颗粒占比从0.4%增加到0.67%。表明在此范围内截齿锥角增大造成煤壁破碎程度和产尘量提高。Rosin-Rammler拟合曲线中破碎指数从0.000 386 172增大到0.000 696 210、均匀性指数从1.903 60下降到1.760 67,表明锥角的增大产生更多小粒径粉尘且粉尘粒度分布范围变广。
2) 掘进仿真模型研究表明:截割过程中煤壁内部产生裂纹的类型和扩展方式不受截齿锥角的改变而影响,裂纹从截齿尖端萌生并向截割头周围扩展。裂纹总数从78°时22 980个增长到118°时的27 272个,颗粒间黏结键的破坏方式以拉伸破坏为主,拉裂纹占比均在73%以上。密实核的形成和扩展产生裂纹,较多的裂纹促使更多煤块崩落,产生的自由面进一步导致更多的密实核释放煤粉,这解释了较大锥角截齿产尘量更高的现象,与试验结果相互印证。
3) 截齿锥角增大时,被剥离的最小离散颗粒数量从371增加到459,与试验结果一致。平均抛掷速度的变化趋势不发生改变,在钻入时均为先剧增到最高点后再呈周期性减小,后逐渐平缓,横摆时速度变化不大。最大平均抛掷速度为0.45~0.65m/s。随着截齿锥角从78°增大到118°,颗粒平均抛掷速度从0.250m/s减小到0.221m/s。抛掷速度增大扬尘规模相应扩大,因此,在此范围内增大截齿锥角可控制扬尘规模缩小,有利于集中治理截割源头处粉尘。
