To further improve the fire extinguishing efficiency of environmentally friendly foam extinguishing agents,surfactants of the sodium alpha-olefin sulfonate (AOS) and phosphate betaine silicone surfactant (PBSS) and foam stabilizers of inorganic salts and polysaccharides were used to propose environmentally friendly foam extinguishing agents. The effects of inorganic salt and polysaccharide mixtures on surface tension,foaming capability,and foam stability were analyzed. Then the foam stabilization mechanism of the foam stabilizer mixtures was investigated. The results indicated that the inorganic salt and polysaccharide mixtures greatly improved the physicochemical properties of the foam extinguishing agents. The foam fire extinguishing agent mixture by 0.025% xanthan gum,0.125% gelatin,and 0.1% MgCl2 showed the best overall performance with a surface tension of 24.34 mN/m,an initial foam height of 118.81 mm,and a 25% liquid drainage time of 132.1 s. The foam stabilizing mechanism of the foam stabilizer was attributed to the formation of hydrogen bonds between xanthan gum and gelatin,which greatly enhanced the surface strength of the foam liquid film,thereby effectively slowing down the drainage rate and bubbles coarsening of foam. Moreover,the Mg2+ was adsorbed around the AOS/PBSS head group due to electrostatic interaction,which impaired the electrostatic repulsion between the head groups and increased the concentration of surfactant,further improving foam stability.

为进一步提升环保型泡沫灭火剂灭火效能,以α-烯烃磺酸钠(AOS)和磷酸酯两性有机硅(PBSS)为表面活性剂,无机盐和多糖为稳泡剂,制备环保型泡沫灭火剂。基于无机盐与多糖复配对泡沫灭火剂表面张力、起泡性和稳定性的影响,提出稳泡剂复配体系的泡沫稳定机制。结果表明:无机盐和多糖复配能进一步提升泡沫灭火剂的理化性能,以0.025%黄原胶/0.125%明胶/0.1%氯化镁为稳泡剂所制备泡沫灭火剂的综合性能最佳,表面张力为24.34 mN/m,初始泡沫高度118.81 mm,25%析液时间为132.1 s。稳泡剂体系的稳泡机制归因于黄原胶和明胶在泡沫溶液中形成氢键,极大地增强泡沫液膜的表面强度,从而有效减缓泡沫的析液和气泡的粗化;Mg2+与AOS/PBSS头基产生静电作用而吸附于头基周围,削弱头基间的静电排斥作用,使得单位面积上表面活性剂浓度增加,进一步增强泡沫稳定性。

为进一步提升环保型泡沫灭火剂灭火效能,以α-烯烃磺酸钠(AOS)和磷酸酯两性有机硅(PBSS)为表面活性剂,无机盐和多糖为稳泡剂,制备环保型泡沫灭火剂。基于无机盐与多糖复配对泡沫灭火剂表面张力、起泡性和稳定性的影响,提出稳泡剂复配体系的泡沫稳定机制。结果表明:无机盐和多糖复配能进一步提升泡沫灭火剂的理化性能,以0.025%黄原胶/0.125%明胶/0.1%氯化镁为稳泡剂所制备泡沫灭火剂的综合性能最佳,表面张力为24.34 mN/m,初始泡沫高度118.81 mm,25%析液时间为132.1 s。稳泡剂体系的稳泡机制归因于黄原胶和明胶在泡沫溶液中形成氢键,极大地增强泡沫液膜的表面强度,从而有效减缓泡沫的析液和气泡的粗化;Mg2+与AOS/PBSS头基产生静电作用而吸附于头基周围,削弱头基间的静电排斥作用,使得单位面积上表面活性剂浓度增加,进一步增强泡沫稳定性。

To further improve the fire extinguishing efficiency of environmentally friendly foam extinguishing agents,surfactants of the sodium alpha-olefin sulfonate (AOS) and phosphate betaine silicone surfactant (PBSS) and foam stabilizers of inorganic salts and polysaccharides were used to propose environmentally friendly foam extinguishing agents. The effects of inorganic salt and polysaccharide mixtures on surface tension,foaming capability,and foam stability were analyzed. Then the foam stabilization mechanism of the foam stabilizer mixtures was investigated. The results indicated that the inorganic salt and polysaccharide mixtures greatly improved the physicochemical properties of the foam extinguishing agents. The foam fire extinguishing agent mixture by 0.025% xanthan gum,0.125% gelatin,and 0.1% MgCl2 showed the best overall performance with a surface tension of 24.34 mN/m,an initial foam height of 118.81 mm,and a 25% liquid drainage time of 132.1 s. The foam stabilizing mechanism of the foam stabilizer was attributed to the formation of hydrogen bonds between xanthan gum and gelatin,which greatly enhanced the surface strength of the foam liquid film,thereby effectively slowing down the drainage rate and bubbles coarsening of foam. Moreover,the Mg2+ was adsorbed around the AOS/PBSS head group due to electrostatic interaction,which impaired the electrostatic repulsion between the head groups and increased the concentration of surfactant,further improving foam stability.

泡沫灭火剂是目前公认的扑救液体火灾最常用、最有效的手段[1]。泡沫稳定性是影响泡沫灭火效能的关键参数之一,增强泡沫的稳定性有利于泡沫在灭火过程中隔绝燃料和火焰之间的热传递,提升灭火效能[2-4]。然而泡沫是热力学不稳定结构,注定会随着时间的推移而消失[5]
为解决泡沫稳定性差的问题,研究者常采用泡沫稳定剂来提高泡沫的稳定性,主要包括表面活性剂、极性有机物(醇类)、无机盐、固体颗粒和聚合物等[6]。其中,固体颗粒往往需要经过表面化学改性才能起到优异的稳泡效果,同时,固体颗粒的化学改性在环境友好性、生物相容性和生物降解性方面存在负面影响[7]。无机盐通过增强气/液界面处的表面活性剂吸附来提升起泡性和泡沫稳定性[8]。JIANG Ning等[9]发现十二烷基硫酸钠溶液中加入氯化钙、氯化钠和氯化钾后,泡沫平台的边缘会形成十二烷基硫酸钙和十二烷基硫酸钾的晶体,这些晶体吸附于气泡薄膜表面,增强了泡沫溶液的泡沫稳定性;DONG Zhiyu等[10]研究表明:Mg2+比Na+拥有更好的稳泡效果。尽管无机盐对泡沫稳定性有明显的改善,但单一无机盐对泡沫灭火剂性能的提升并不满足消防泡沫应用的需求。多糖是一类环境亲和性物质,具有极强的亲水性和较高的强度[11]。此外,多糖与其他类型稳泡剂间存在优异的协同增效作用,可显著提升泡沫灭火剂的稳定性。然而目前针对多糖与无机盐复配的研究较少,相关泡沫稳定机制也尚不明晰。
鉴于此,笔者拟以无机盐与多糖为稳泡剂制备环保型泡沫灭火剂,探讨无机盐与多糖复配体系对泡沫灭火剂理化性能的影响,并结合分子动力学提出稳泡剂体系的稳泡机制,以期进一步提升环保型泡沫灭火剂灭火效能。
首先,在去离子水中加α-烯烃磺酸钠(Sodium Apha-olefin Sulfonate,AOS)和磷酸酯两性有机硅(Phosphate Betaine Silicone Surfactant,PBSS),充分搅拌后得到表面活性剂溶液;然后,将乙二醇及二乙二醇丁醚添加到表面活性剂溶液中,再缓慢添加尿素及泡沫稳定剂;最后,加入剩余去离子水进行充分搅拌混合得到泡沫灭火剂溶液,泡沫灭火剂的基本组成见表1
采用全自动表/界面张力仪通过铂金环法测量泡沫灭火剂的表面张力。
采用罗氏泡沫仪测试泡沫灭火剂的起泡性能[12],并记录泡沫的初始高度(H0),用于衡量泡沫灭火剂起泡性能的大小。
利用自制析液装置测试泡沫灭火剂的析液性能,如图1所示。该装置主要包括泡沫收集罐、支架、恒温水浴锅、橡胶管、液体收集罐、电子天平及数据采集装置等。泡沫收集罐采用体积250mL,外径85mm,内径63mm双层玻璃制成;析液口处设置有孔径为0.1~0.2mm的泡沫滤网;液体收集罐置于电子天平上,并与析液口平行,电子天平外接数据采集装置,实时采集液体收集罐中液体的质量。试验开始时,开启循环水浴锅,调节水浴锅的温度,待水温稳定后迅速向泡沫收集罐内倒入泡沫,液体由析液口排出至液体收集罐内开始计时,观察电子天平值,液体收集罐内液体质量达到25%泡沫质量后记录时间即25%析液时间,用 t 25 %表示。
分子模型均通过软件Materials Studio 2018进行构建、优化和动力学模拟[13-15]。在气/液界面建模时,采用“三明治”模型模拟表面活性剂在气/液界面间的薄膜[16]。具体模拟过程如下:先构建含有2 500个水分子的水层,为使模拟体系呈电中性,水分子层中添加36个Na+作为补偿离子,接着构建2个表面活性剂分子单层;再将表面活性剂单层放置于水分子层两端以形成“三明治”模型,确保表面活亲水基插入水相中,同时在表面活性剂层的上下方分别加入至少2倍截断半径的真空层以消除边界性条件的影响。建模后先进行几何优化,再进行动力学模拟计算,动力学模拟参数见表2,模型构建过程如图2所示。
添加不同质量分数无机盐对泡沫灭火剂表面张力的影响如图3所示。由图3可知:无机盐的加入使得泡沫灭火剂的表面张力呈现不同程度的提升,添加氯化钠、氯化镁和氯化铁后泡沫灭火剂的表面张力分别为26.14、24.64和25.58mN/m,相较于未添加无机盐泡沫灭火剂分别提升6.4%、0.2%和4.1%。这是因为无机盐离子与表面活性剂之间存在较强的相互作用,影响了表面活性剂在界面的分布,从而改变了表面活性剂降低表面张力的能力[17]
添加不同质量分数无机盐泡沫灭火剂的初始泡沫高度如图4所示,相关数据见表3。由图4可知:添加氯化钠和氯化镁可提升泡沫灭火剂的起泡性能,而氯化铁对于泡沫灭火剂的起泡性能具有明显的抑制作用,添加氯化铁后泡沫灭火剂的初始泡沫高度均小于5mm。
添加不同质量分数无机盐泡沫灭火剂的析液质量随时间的变化如图5所示,拟合得到曲线的斜率即为析液速率,如图6所示。由图6可知:添加不同质量分数氯化钠和氯化镁泡沫灭火剂的析液速率随无机盐添加量的增加呈现先减小后增大的趋势。添加不同质量分数无机盐泡沫
灭火剂的25%析液时间如图7所示。由图7可知:当氯化钠和氯化镁的质量分数都为0.1%时,所得泡沫灭火剂的25%析液时间最长,分别为41.39和41.85s,相较于未添加无机盐的泡沫灭火剂分别增加61.0%和62.8%。
单独添加氯化钠、氯化镁和氯化铁3种无机盐对泡沫灭火剂性能的影响不同,单独添加少量的氯化钠和氯化镁可提升泡沫灭火剂的泡沫稳定性,同时,并不影响其表面活性和起泡性能;添加氯化铁会显著降低泡沫灭火剂的表面活性、起泡性和泡沫稳定性。
单独添加无机盐作为稳泡剂并不能有效提升泡沫灭火剂的综合性能,多糖作为泡沫稳定剂可显著提升泡沫溶液的黏度从而提升泡沫稳定性。基于前期研究成果[11],选择0.025%黄原胶/0.125%明胶的多糖复配体系与无机盐复配,所得不同复配方式下泡沫灭火剂的表面张力如图8所示。由图8可知:黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化钠和黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化镁体系不会对泡沫灭火剂的表面张力产生影响,2种复配体系下泡沫灭火剂的表面张力分别为24.39和24.34mN/m。
无机盐和多糖复配下泡沫灭火剂的初始泡沫高度如图9所示。由图9可知:多糖和氯化钠、氯化镁复配体系轻微降低泡沫灭火剂的起泡性能。无机盐和多糖复配泡沫灭火剂的析液速率和 t 25 %表4。由表4可知:添加黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化镁的泡沫灭火剂的析液速率最低为0.058g/s, t 25 %最长为132.1s,相较于未添加氯化镁的泡沫灭火剂, t 25 %提升3.12%。
综上所述,0.025%黄原胶/0.125%明胶/0.1%氯化镁体系对泡沫灭火剂的表面活性和起泡性的影响最小,并能显著提升泡沫灭火剂的稳定性,因此,以该复配体系为稳定剂制备环保型泡沫灭火剂。
泡沫灭火剂的析液速率随黏度的变化如图10所示。由图10可知:随着黄原胶比例的增大,泡沫灭火剂的黏度增加,析液速率下降,当黄原胶的比例从0.01%增加到0.025%时,析液速率相较于未添加稳泡剂的泡沫分别下降48.3%、53.8%、70.0%和80.0%。
图像软件处理后,含黄原胶/明胶、黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化镁和不含稳泡剂泡沫的气泡随时间的变化如图11所示。由图11可知:相较于未添加稳泡剂泡沫,添加稳泡剂的泡沫在相同时间内的气泡分布更加均匀。3种泡沫的平均直径随时间的变化关系如图12所示。由图12可知:添加稳泡剂泡沫的平均直径均小于未添加稳泡剂泡沫。在t=0时,未添加稳泡剂的泡沫平均直径为326.0μm,而黄原胶/明胶泡沫的平均直径为300.9μm,黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化镁泡沫的平均直径为241.6μm;在t=30min时,未添加稳泡剂泡沫的平均气泡直径为990.2μm,黄原胶/明胶的泡沫的平均直径为775.9μm,黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化镁泡沫的平均直径为587.4μm。由此可见:添加稳泡剂可减缓泡沫的聚结速度。
为更清楚地探讨气泡结构随时间的变化关系,添加不同稳泡剂泡沫在不同时间的气泡直径d分布如图13所示。由图13可知:不同类型泡沫的气泡直径分布不同,在t=0时,3种类型的泡沫的气泡直径均小于720μm,且主要分布在(120,360)μm。在[120,360]μm范围内,添加黄原胶/明胶、黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化镁以及未添加稳泡剂的泡沫,其气泡占比分别为71.2%、74.5%和61.7%。10min后气泡尺寸分布发生明显变化,直径在720μm以下气泡占比显著降低。随时间推移,气泡逐渐增大。t=30min时,未添加稳泡剂的气泡直径在(120,360)μm的占比降至10%,(1 080,1 440)μm的占比升至15%,在(1 440,2 160)μm 范围内的气泡比例占比为10%,气泡平均直径为900.2μm;黄原胶/明胶泡沫的气泡主要分布在360~1 440μm,在[360,720)μm、[720,1 080)μm[1 080,1 440]μm范围内的气泡比例分别为39.4%、18.2%和21.2%;相比较而言,黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化镁泡沫气泡主要分布于120~1 080μm,且在[120,360)μm、[360,720)μm和[720,1 080]μm范围内的气泡比例分别为27.8%、42.6%和24.1%。黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化镁体系显著降低泡沫的聚结速率,使泡沫的气泡分布更加均匀。
1) 表面活性剂头基的相对浓度分布。无机盐-多糖复配体系下泡沫液膜的平衡态构型如图14所示,多糖和无机盐离子在Z方向的相对浓度分布如图15所示。结合图14图15可以看出,多糖分子和无机盐离子主要分布于表面活性剂头基周围,即气液界面处。表面活性剂头基沿Z轴方向的相对浓度分布如图16所示。由图16可知:表面活性剂头基在气液界面处出现峰值,3种无机盐中Mg2+体系的曲线峰值最大,Na+次之,Fe3+峰值最小,相对浓度峰值下降即表面活性剂的密度降低,这使得泡沫液膜中表面活性剂降低表面张力的能力下降,泡沫液膜的稳定性降低。因此,Fe3+不利于泡沫的稳定。
2) 表面活性剂头基与水分子的相互作用。添加不同种类无机盐-多糖复配体系表面活性剂头基周围水分子的径向分布函数(Radial Distribution Function,RDF)曲线如图17所示。由图17可知:RDF曲线在距离表面活性剂头基2.73 Å和3.69 Å 处具有2个峰,即在2.73 Å处出现第1水化层。不同无机盐体系RDF曲线的峰值不同,Mg2+体系RDF曲线的峰值最大,Na+次之,Fe3+最小,这是因为无机盐离子与表面活性剂头基之间的相互作用使得盐离子进入到水化层中,无机盐离子与水分子之间也存在水化作用。3种无机盐离子中Mg2+周围的水分子数目最多,这表明Mg2+的存在有利于表面活性剂-多糖复配体系泡沫液膜的稳定性。
3) 结合水的扩散行为。不同无机盐-多糖体系泡沫液膜中水分子的均方根位移(Mean Square Displacement,MSD)曲线如图18所示,MSD曲线的斜率为水分子的扩散系数D,见表5。据此可知:添加Na+、Mg2+和Fe3+水分子的扩散系数分别为0.40、0.29和0.38m2/s。3种无机盐中Mg2+体系中水分子的扩散系数最小,这表明Mg2+的存在降低了泡沫液膜中水分子的运动速率,提升了泡沫液膜的持水能力,有利于泡沫的稳定。
综上所述,随着黄原胶和明胶质量分数比的增加,泡沫灭火剂溶液的黏度呈现出逐渐上升的趋势,而泡沫液黏度的增加减缓了泡沫的析液,特别是泡沫液膜的析液。这导致泡沫液膜在较长的时间间隔后破裂[18]。此外,泡沫液黏度的增大,一方面增强了泡沫液膜的表面强度而导致泡沫液膜的扩散距离增大、扩散过程变慢;另一方面也增大了气泡高原边界内液体的流动阻力而使气泡粗化变缓、气泡分布更加均匀[19-21]。无机盐离子中,过高浓度的Na+和高价位的Fe3+会与多糖聚合物链中的极性基团结合,从而破坏水化层结构使得水化层中结合水的数目减少、体系的黏度降低,从而不利于泡沫的稳定[13]
因此,无机盐与多糖复配体系的泡沫稳定机制总结如下:①多糖间形成的氢键既减缓了泡沫的粗化,又减缓了液体的析出;②适量添加Mg2+可以和表面活性剂AOS/PBSS头基之间产生强烈的静电相互作用,促使Mg2+吸附于头基周围,削弱头基之间的静电排斥作用,使得单位面积上表面活性剂的浓度增加,进一步提升泡沫稳定性。因此,以黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化镁为泡沫稳定剂制备泡沫灭火剂是提高灭火剂泡沫稳定性的有效途径。
1) 单独添加无机盐并不能均衡泡沫灭火剂的起泡性和泡沫稳定性。其中,Na+和Mg2+能提升泡沫稳定性而Fe3+具有明显的抑制作用。
2) 无机盐与多糖复配体系中,黄原胶/明胶/0.1%氯化镁体系效果最优,其表面张力为24.34mN/m,泡沫高度为118.81mm,25%析液时间为132.1s。
3) 黄原胶和明胶在泡沫溶液中形成氢键,导致泡沫液黏度增大,极大增强了泡沫液膜的表面强度进而增加了泡沫液膜的扩散距离,导致扩散过程变慢;此外,溶液黏度的提升使得气泡高原边界内液体的流动阻力增加、气泡粗化变缓、气泡分布更加均匀。Mg2+与AOS/PBSS头基的产生静电作用从而吸附在其周围,削弱了头基之间的静电排斥作用,使得单位面积上表面活性剂的浓度增加,从而进一步提升了泡沫稳定性。
