In order to prevent and control the explosion hazards of ethylene/polyethylene hybrid mixture,bicarbonate was selected as the explosion suppression powder,and the explosion suppression experiment was carried out in a 20 L spherical explosion device to explore the explosion inhibition effect and mechanism of different bicarbonate on ethylene/polyethylene hybrid mixture. The differences of explosion inhibition performance of different bicarbonate on the hybrid mixture were discussed. The results show that the hybrid mixture is more difficult to inhibit than the single-phase polyethylene. With the increase of ethylene concentration,the explosion inhibition of the hybrid mixture becomes more difficult. The bicarbonate has an inhibitory effect on the ethylene/polyethylene hybrid mixture with different concentrations,and the inhibition efficiency is affected by the concentration of ethylene and bicarbonate. Bicarbonate can inhibit the ethylene/polyethylene hybrid explosion through physicochemical reaction during the polyethylene explosion. The decomposition and endothermic properties of potassium bicarbonate and its retardation effect on polyethylene pyrolysis are better than those of sodium bicarbonate,so the inhibition effect of potassium bicarbonate on the explosion of ethylene/polyethylene hybrid mixture is better than that of sodium bicarbonate.

为防治乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系爆炸危害,选取碳酸氢盐作为抑爆粉体,在20 L球型爆炸装置内开展抑爆试验,探究不同碳酸氢盐对乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系的爆炸抑制效果及机制,并讨论不同碳酸氢盐对两相体系爆炸抑制性能之间的差异性。结果表明:两相体系较单相聚乙烯更难抑制,且随着乙烯体积分数的增加,两相体系爆炸抑制难度增大;碳酸氢盐对不同质量浓度的乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系均具有抑制作用,其抑制效率受乙烯体积分数和碳酸氢盐质量浓度的综合影响;碳酸氢盐均能在聚乙烯爆炸过程中通过物化反应抑制乙烯/聚乙烯两相爆炸,碳酸氢钾的分解吸热性能及其对聚乙烯热解的延缓作用均优于碳酸氢钠,故碳酸氢钾对乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系爆炸的抑制效果优于碳酸氢钠。

为防治乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系爆炸危害,选取碳酸氢盐作为抑爆粉体,在20 L球型爆炸装置内开展抑爆试验,探究不同碳酸氢盐对乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系的爆炸抑制效果及机制,并讨论不同碳酸氢盐对两相体系爆炸抑制性能之间的差异性。结果表明:两相体系较单相聚乙烯更难抑制,且随着乙烯体积分数的增加,两相体系爆炸抑制难度增大;碳酸氢盐对不同质量浓度的乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系均具有抑制作用,其抑制效率受乙烯体积分数和碳酸氢盐质量浓度的综合影响;碳酸氢盐均能在聚乙烯爆炸过程中通过物化反应抑制乙烯/聚乙烯两相爆炸,碳酸氢钾的分解吸热性能及其对聚乙烯热解的延缓作用均优于碳酸氢钠,故碳酸氢钾对乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系爆炸的抑制效果优于碳酸氢钠。

In order to prevent and control the explosion hazards of ethylene/polyethylene hybrid mixture,bicarbonate was selected as the explosion suppression powder,and the explosion suppression experiment was carried out in a 20 L spherical explosion device to explore the explosion inhibition effect and mechanism of different bicarbonate on ethylene/polyethylene hybrid mixture. The differences of explosion inhibition performance of different bicarbonate on the hybrid mixture were discussed. The results show that the hybrid mixture is more difficult to inhibit than the single-phase polyethylene. With the increase of ethylene concentration,the explosion inhibition of the hybrid mixture becomes more difficult. The bicarbonate has an inhibitory effect on the ethylene/polyethylene hybrid mixture with different concentrations,and the inhibition efficiency is affected by the concentration of ethylene and bicarbonate. Bicarbonate can inhibit the ethylene/polyethylene hybrid explosion through physicochemical reaction during the polyethylene explosion. The decomposition and endothermic properties of potassium bicarbonate and its retardation effect on polyethylene pyrolysis are better than those of sodium bicarbonate,so the inhibition effect of potassium bicarbonate on the explosion of ethylene/polyethylene hybrid mixture is better than that of sodium bicarbonate.

聚乙烯因其较好的化学稳定性、电绝缘性和耐腐蚀性而广泛应用于工业、农业、医学等领域[1]。聚乙烯加工生产过程中容易发生粉尘积聚,形成粉尘云[2-3];当聚乙烯粉尘云与生产过程产生的乙烯气体形成两相体系时爆炸风险较高[4-6]。由乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系(简称两相体系)引起的爆炸事故已经成为聚乙烯生产安全事故的主要类型之一[7-8]
目前已有大量关于惰性粉体抑制单相乙烯和聚乙烯爆炸的研究。WANG Yang等[9]研究了碳酸氢盐和磷酸氢盐对乙烯的抑爆特性,发现碳酸氢盐具有更为优异的乙烯爆炸抑制性能。王燕等[10-11]研究了沸石对乙烯的抑爆特性,并结合乙烯爆炸反应动力学机制,对沸石进行了改性处理,显著提升了沸石的抑爆性能。JIANG Bingyou等[12]发现当聚磷酸铵和聚乙烯粉尘质量浓度比为1:1时,可完全抑制聚乙烯粉尘爆炸。ZHANG Yansong等[13]研究了碳酸铵和碳化硅对聚乙烯粉尘爆炸火焰的抑爆特性,发现碳酸铵和碳化硅均能有效抑制聚乙烯粉尘爆炸火焰,碳酸铵抑制效果更佳。WANG Yan等[14]指出碳酸氢钠粉体具有较强自由基销毁能力,可中断聚乙烯爆炸链式反应。但两相体系具有明显高于单相乙烯和聚乙烯的爆炸危险性和危害性[15-16],且两相体系爆炸机制更为复杂[17-18],更难被抑制。
目前关于惰性粉体对两相体系的抑爆特性和机制的研究相对较少。因此,本文拟选取对单相乙烯和聚乙烯均具有较好抑爆效果的碳酸氢钠和碳酸氢钾[19]粉体为抑爆剂,利用20 L球形爆炸测试系统探究2种不同碳酸氢盐对两相体系的抑爆特性及机制,以便为两相体系防爆提供理论依据。
试验采用的聚乙烯和碳酸氢盐粉体均为分析纯,其粒径分析结果如图1所示。可以看出,聚乙烯、碳酸氢钠和碳酸氢钾3种粉体的中位粒径D50分别为16.6、69.6和73.1 μm,碳酸氢钠和碳酸氢钾的中位粒径相近,可以避免对比2种抑爆粉体抑爆性能时粒径的影响。为确保试验粉体不受湿度的影响,试验前一天对试验粉体在50 ℃的真空干燥箱中进行12 h的干燥处理。
20L球形爆炸试验系统[20]图2所示,该系统主要由微机控制模块、爆炸容器、扬尘模块、点火装置、配气模块和数据采集模块组成。先将10 kJ化学点火头安装在容器中心的电极两端,再将试验所需质量的抑爆剂与聚乙烯粉尘均匀混合后置于0.6 L粉尘仓中,并向粉尘仓中充入2 MPa的空气。采用分压法在爆炸容器内配置试验所需体积分数的乙烯气体。在控制模块的作用下,开启气粉两相阀,粉尘仓中的混合粉尘在2 MPa的空气的驱动下通过气粉两相阀均匀的分散到爆炸容器中,60ms后点火,容器内的压力变化过程由数据采集系统采集并保存在计算机中。为避免试验误差,每组试验至少重复3次,在误差范围允许范围内取平均值。
不同乙烯体积分数条件下两相体系爆炸压力和爆炸压力上升速率测试和分析结果如图3所示。当乙烯体积分数分别为0、2%、4%和6%时,两相体系爆炸压力和爆炸压力上升速率均随聚乙烯粉尘质量浓度的增大先增大后减小,并分别在聚乙烯粉尘质量浓度为400、200、100、50 g/m3时到达峰值,分别为0.634 4、0.706 8、0.764 4、0.786 4MPa和59.014 9、64.251 8、72.403 2、76.124 1 MPa/s。但是,当乙烯体积分数为8%时,两相体系在聚乙烯质量浓度为0时到达峰值,即将任何质量浓度的聚乙烯添加至体积分数为8%的乙烯中均将导致乙烯爆炸强度的降低。这是因为试验条件下测得的乙烯爆炸最佳体积分数为8%,在该体积分数条件下,乙烯与聚乙烯在两相爆炸过程中形成氧气竞争机制,气相乙烯会优先与氧气发生反应,聚乙烯则仅起到吸热抑爆的作用。
不同乙烯体积分数条件下,两相体系的最大爆炸压力和最大爆炸压力上升速率并非固定值,而是随乙烯体积分数的增大而增大,并且对应着不同的乙烯体积分数和聚乙烯质量浓度。乙烯爆炸是由化学反应控制的均相燃烧,而聚乙烯爆炸则是由扩散控制的异相燃烧。不同乙烯体积分数和聚乙烯质量浓度条件下的两相体系爆炸机制必将发生变化。当乙烯体积分数较低时,两相体系爆炸以由扩散控制的异相燃烧为主;当乙烯体积分数较高时,两相体系爆炸则以由化学反应控制的均相燃烧为主。爆炸强度和爆炸机制的不同,将导致碳酸氢盐对其抑爆性能及机制发生变化。因此,若要全面反映碳酸氢盐抑制两相体系爆炸特性和机制,需分析和研究多种不同乙烯体积分数和聚乙烯质量浓度组合下的两相体系爆炸抑制特性。基于此,抑爆试验以5种两相体系为对象,主要参数见表1
图4为不同质量浓度碳酸氢盐作用下5种两相体系的爆炸压力。可以看出,5种两相体系爆炸压力均随碳酸氢盐质量浓度的增大而减小,工况A、B、C爆炸压力能在碳酸氢盐的作用下降至0.15 MPa以下。当容器内爆炸压力Pe<(Pi+0.05)MPa时(Pi为10 kJ化学点火头爆炸产生的压力),可认为容器内粉尘未发生爆炸[21]。试验中Pi≈0.1 MPa,因此,可推断碳酸氢盐能完全抑制工况A、B、C爆炸,而工况D、E爆炸则难以被完全抑制。碳酸氢钠和碳酸氢钾完全抑制工况A、B、C爆炸所需质量浓度分别为1 600、2 000、2 000 g/m3和1 200、1 600、1 800 g/m3。这说明两相体系较单相聚乙烯更难抑制,且随着两相体系中乙烯体积分数的增加,抑制难度增大;碳酸氢钾对两相体系的抑爆效果优于碳酸氢钠。
基于图4计算不同质量浓度碳酸氢盐作用下两相体系爆炸压力降低幅度如图5所示。可以看出,当碳酸氢钠和碳酸氢钾质量浓度分别低于1 400和800 g/m3时,两相体系爆炸压力降低幅度随乙烯体积分数的增大而增大;当碳酸氢钠和碳酸氢钾质量浓度分别增加至1 600和1 000 g/m3时,两相体系爆炸压力降低幅度随乙烯体积分数的增大而减小,即碳酸氢盐抑制两相体系爆炸压力效率存在临界值。当碳酸氢盐质量浓度低于临界值时,抑爆效率随乙烯体积分数的增大而升高;高于临界值时,抑爆效率随乙烯体积分数的增大而降低。这是因为碳酸氢盐对乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系爆炸压力的抑制作用主要来自于其自身热解形成的吸热作用和自由基销毁作用,而碳酸氢盐的吸热性能和自由基销毁性能主要受其热解率的影响,热解率越高,吸热量越大,分解形成的自由基数量越多。因此,碳酸氢盐的热解率是影响其抑制两相体系爆炸压力效率的关键参数,而碳酸氢盐热解率主要受两相体系爆炸过程中介质燃烧温度和燃烧时间影响。工况A为纯聚乙烯爆炸,其爆炸强度相对较低,即其在爆炸过程中燃烧产生的温度相对较低,因此,该工况下碳酸氢盐热解率相对较小,抑爆效率较低。工况B、C、D为乙烯和聚乙烯的混合爆炸,根据工况B、C、D爆炸强度可知:两相体系中的乙烯体积分数越大,爆炸强度越高,燃烧产生的温度也越高,进而导致碳酸氢盐的热解率越高,抑爆效率也越高。但是,随着两相体系中乙烯体积分数的持续提升,两相体系爆炸燃烧温度也将持续增大,这将导致对碳酸氢盐热解率影响较大的主要因素由两相体系爆炸燃烧温度转化为燃烧时间。工况E为纯乙烯爆炸,虽然体系的燃烧温度较高,但燃烧时间较短。所以,当碳酸氢盐质量浓度较低时,温度在碳酸氢盐热解过程中仍然占据主导地位,较高的燃烧温度作用下碳酸氢盐仍然可以充分热解。但是随着碳酸氢盐质量浓度的增加,碳酸氢盐热解率开始受燃烧时间的主导,此时,纯乙烯爆炸条件下的碳酸氢盐热解率反而会降低,导致抑爆效率降低。
图6为不同质量浓度碳酸氢盐作用下5种两相体系爆炸压力上升速率。可以看出,5种两相体系爆炸压力上升速率均随碳酸氢盐质量浓度的增大而减小,工况A、B、C爆炸压力上升速率均能在碳酸氢盐的作用下降至1.5 MPa/s左右。但将工况A、B、C爆炸压力上升速率降低至1.5 MPa/s所需的碳酸氢钾质量浓度低于碳酸氢钠,即碳酸氢钾对两相体系爆炸压力上升速率的抑制效果同样优于碳酸氢钠。
基于图6计算得到不同工况下两相体系爆炸压力上升速率降低幅度结果如图7所示。可以看出,两相体系爆炸压力上升速率降低幅度由工况A-E先增大后减小,即碳酸氢盐抑制两相体系爆炸压力上升速率的效率由工况A-E先升高后降低。这是因为碳酸氢盐对两相体系爆炸压力上升速率的抑制作用主要来自于碳酸氢盐因热解形成的吸热效应和自由基销毁效应,热解速率越快,吸热速率越快,单位时间内热解产生的离子或自由基浓度越高,对爆炸自由基的销毁能力越强。碳酸氢盐的热解速率主要受两相体系爆炸过程中燃烧温度的影响,温度越高,热解速率越快。对于工况A、B、C,两相体系中乙烯体积分数越大,体系的燃烧温度越高。这将导致碳酸氢盐的分解速率由工况A-C越来越快,吸热速率也越来越快,抑爆效率越来越高。随着工况D和E中乙烯体积分数的进一步提升,两相体系爆炸过程逐渐由乙烯为主的均相燃烧控制。虽然此时的燃烧温度较高,但燃烧速度较快,作用于碳酸氢盐的时间相对较短,热解率反而会降低,进而导致抑爆效率的降低。
碳酸氢盐对两相体系爆炸的抑制作用主要由化学抑制和物理抑制2方面[22-23]
爆炸开始后,分散在聚乙烯粉尘中的碳酸氢盐,充分接触并捕捉爆炸产生的活性自由基[24]

碳酸氢盐分解产生的CO2和H·、OH·自由基结合后,同样可减少聚乙烯粉尘爆炸反应关键自由基数量,降低反应速率[25-26]和燃烧产生的热量[27]

碳酸氢盐对乙烯/聚乙烯粉尘爆炸的化学抑制机制如图8所示。
采用同步热分析仪分析碳酸氢盐的热解特性(升温速率为10 K/min,空气),结果如图9所示。可以看出,碳酸氢钠粉体约在92.1 ℃开始失重分解,在192.1 ℃基本结束,碳酸氢钾粉体约在150 ℃开始失重分解,在202.3 ℃基本结束,2种粉体在热解过程中均存在明显的吸热峰。因此,碳酸氢盐对两相体系爆炸的物理抑制作用主要来自于其自身的热解吸热。此外,碳酸氢盐热解产生的H2O和CO2可以稀释氧气和可燃气体积分数,同样可以起到物理抑爆作用[28]
聚乙烯、碳酸氢盐以及碳酸氢盐与聚乙烯质量浓度的比值分别为0.5、1.0、2.0的混合粉体热重测试结果如图10所示。可以看出,随着混合粉体中碳酸氢盐占比的增大,混合粉体的初始分解温度提前,说明碳酸氢盐的初始热解温度低于聚乙烯粉体,即碳酸氢盐先于聚乙烯粉体发生热解,进而及时吸收爆炸产生的热量,减缓爆炸反应进程。
1) 乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系较单相聚乙烯更难抑制,而且随着两相体系中乙烯体积分数的增加,两相体系爆炸抑制难度增大。
2) 碳酸氢盐对不同乙烯体积分数和聚乙烯质量浓度组合下的乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系均具有抑制作用。当乙烯体积分数低于6%时,碳酸氢盐可完全抑制乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系爆炸,且相同条件下碳酸氢钾抑制效果优于碳酸氢钠。
3) 碳酸氢盐对乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系爆炸压力的抑制效率随着体系中乙烯体积分数的增大而升高。但当碳酸氢盐质量浓度增加到临界值时,抑制效率将随着体系中乙烯体积分数的增大而降低。碳酸氢盐对乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系爆炸压力上升速率的抑制效率随着体系中乙烯体积分数的增大先升高后降低。
4) 2种碳酸氢盐均能在聚乙烯爆炸过程中通过热解吸热、消耗自由基、降低聚乙烯分解速率、稀释氧气等物理和化学作用抑制乙烯/聚乙烯两相体系爆炸。
