Objective

To investigate the risk of thoracoabdominal injuries in six-year-old child occupants in a reclined seating posture during frontal collisions, and provide a reference for developing child restraint systems (CRS).

Methods

Three validated biomechanical models of six-year-old child occupants in different seating postures with detailed anatomical structures were used. The acceleration curve from a sport utility vehicle crash test was applied to analyze the effects of seating posture on thoracic motion trajectory, chest acceleration, thoracoabdominal compression, viscous criterion (VC) of the chest and abdomen, internal organ strain, and spinal stress.

Results

Thoracic motion trajectories varied in the Z-direction under three seating postures. As the upper torso angle increased, thoracoabdominal kinematic injury parameters showed an upward trend. The thoracic and abdominal VC under 120° and 135° posture increased by 67% and 113%, 10.7% and 25% compared with that under 105° standard sitting posture. The risk of thoracic internal organ injury was inversely related to the seating angle, while the risk of abdominal internal organ injury was positively related to the seating angle. The primary spinal injury mechanism was compression-flexion.

Conclusions

CRS protection evaluation should comprehensively consider thoracoabdominal kinematic parameters, internal organ biomechanics, and spinal injury risk. These findings have important implications for CRS development in intelligent driving systems and occupant protection strategy formulation.

目的

研究6岁儿童乘员后倾坐姿在正面碰撞中胸腹损伤风险,为儿童乘员约束系统研发提供参考。

方法

应用具有详实解剖学结构且经过验证的3种坐姿6岁儿童乘员生物力学模型,加载某运动型多用途汽车碰撞试验中的减速度曲线,分析儿童乘员坐姿对其胸部运动轨迹、胸部加速度、胸腹部压缩量、胸腹部黏性指数(viscous criterion,VC)、胸腹部内脏器官应变以及脊椎应力的影响。

结果

3种坐姿下6岁儿童乘员胸部运动轨迹在Z向呈现差异性,随着儿童乘员上躯干角度增加,胸腹部运动学损伤参数呈递增趋势。与105°标准坐姿相比,120°、135°坐姿下胸部VC分别增加67%和113%,腹部VC分别增加10.7%和25%。胸部内脏组织损伤风险与坐姿角度呈负相关,腹部内脏组织损伤风险与坐姿角度呈正相关。脊椎损伤机制主要为压缩-弯曲损伤。

结论

儿童约束系统防护评价应综合考虑胸腹部运动学参数、内脏器官生物力学参数以及脊椎损伤风险。研究结果对智能驾驶系统中6岁儿童乘员约束系统研发及乘员保护策略制定具有重要的应用价值。

目的

研究6岁儿童乘员后倾坐姿在正面碰撞中胸腹损伤风险,为儿童乘员约束系统研发提供参考。

方法

应用具有详实解剖学结构且经过验证的3种坐姿6岁儿童乘员生物力学模型,加载某运动型多用途汽车碰撞试验中的减速度曲线,分析儿童乘员坐姿对其胸部运动轨迹、胸部加速度、胸腹部压缩量、胸腹部黏性指数(viscous criterion,VC)、胸腹部内脏器官应变以及脊椎应力的影响。

结果

3种坐姿下6岁儿童乘员胸部运动轨迹在Z向呈现差异性,随着儿童乘员上躯干角度增加,胸腹部运动学损伤参数呈递增趋势。与105°标准坐姿相比,120°、135°坐姿下胸部VC分别增加67%和113%,腹部VC分别增加10.7%和25%。胸部内脏组织损伤风险与坐姿角度呈负相关,腹部内脏组织损伤风险与坐姿角度呈正相关。脊椎损伤机制主要为压缩-弯曲损伤。

结论

儿童约束系统防护评价应综合考虑胸腹部运动学参数、内脏器官生物力学参数以及脊椎损伤风险。研究结果对智能驾驶系统中6岁儿童乘员约束系统研发及乘员保护策略制定具有重要的应用价值。

Objective

To investigate the risk of thoracoabdominal injuries in six-year-old child occupants in a reclined seating posture during frontal collisions, and provide a reference for developing child restraint systems (CRS).

Methods

Three validated biomechanical models of six-year-old child occupants in different seating postures with detailed anatomical structures were used. The acceleration curve from a sport utility vehicle crash test was applied to analyze the effects of seating posture on thoracic motion trajectory, chest acceleration, thoracoabdominal compression, viscous criterion (VC) of the chest and abdomen, internal organ strain, and spinal stress.

Results

Thoracic motion trajectories varied in the Z-direction under three seating postures. As the upper torso angle increased, thoracoabdominal kinematic injury parameters showed an upward trend. The thoracic and abdominal VC under 120° and 135° posture increased by 67% and 113%, 10.7% and 25% compared with that under 105° standard sitting posture. The risk of thoracic internal organ injury was inversely related to the seating angle, while the risk of abdominal internal organ injury was positively related to the seating angle. The primary spinal injury mechanism was compression-flexion.

Conclusions

CRS protection evaluation should comprehensively consider thoracoabdominal kinematic parameters, internal organ biomechanics, and spinal injury risk. These findings have important implications for CRS development in intelligent driving systems and occupant protection strategy formulation.

自动驾驶作为智能交通系统应用之一正在全球广泛推广应用[1]。“零事故”是自动驾驶汽车发展的安全目标,该目标在实验室、封闭场地和可控开放道路上已经初步实现[2-3]。但根据美国密歇根大学交通研究所发布的一项报告,在实际交通运行中,目前的自动驾驶技术很难实现零事故[4]。因此,以自动驾驶技术为背景的乘员碰撞损伤研究对防护策略的开发十分必要。以往研究中,主要考虑坐姿角度对成人损伤的影响,但随着自动驾驶汽车测试场景和技术的不断完善,儿童乘员也将以多角度坐姿参与交通运行[5-6]。有研究团队通过融合仿真模拟和深度学习探讨坐姿角度对儿童乘员头部损伤风险的影响[7-9]
据统计,交通事故中乘员脊椎损伤是导致严重伤害的常见损伤类型[10]。通过对脊椎损伤的流行病学、实验以及计算研究发现,碰撞过程中,脊椎主要承受较高的轴向载荷,且与压缩相关的损伤是脊椎中最常见的损伤形式[11]。人体生理(例如年龄、性别)、乘员姿势(例如前屈)、约束使用(例如安全带、坐垫变化[7-9])和车辆运动(例如俯仰在高速碰撞中尤其常见),都显著影响乘员的运动学和脊椎的损伤形式[12]。针对腰椎损伤极限,在结构层面的研究发现,椎骨的极限拉伸/压缩作用力为4.5~10.8 kN,极限应力为3.7~5.2 MPa[13]
儿童胸腹部骨骼尚未发育为成骨,其胸腹部损伤机制以及损伤程度与成人不同。为了探究儿童胸腹部软组织损伤风险,通过动物实验发现,肺挫伤、冠状动脉撕裂、肝撕裂是最常见的胸腹部损伤,并且肋骨骨折与内脏损伤风险不存在必然联系[14]。然而,由于生理结构的差异,动物实验只能预测胸腹部软组织损伤趋势,很难准确表征儿童胸腹部损伤机制。欧阳钧等[15-16]对不同年龄组儿童尸体的胸腹部进行撞锤实验,分析儿童尸体胸腹部压缩量、黏性指数(viscous criterion,VC)以及内脏器官的损伤情况,得到儿童胸腹部力-位移曲线,为儿童有限元模型的开发及验证提供了理论基础。Kent等[17-18]通过尸体实验获得安全带集中载荷造成的胸腹部损伤风险以及胸腹部的变形极限,但这些成人数据并不能代表儿童的损伤容限。然而,由于伦理道德等因素,儿童尸体实验已经被各国禁止。为了更好探究儿童在交通事故中的损伤,有限元分析方法已经成为广泛采用的研究手段。在碰撞分析中利用高生物逼真度的有限元模型进行仿真计算,不仅可以模拟碰撞过程中儿童的运动状态,反映脑组织和内脏器官的应力、应变以及损伤响应等损伤指标[19],还解决了尸体试验重复性差的问题。杜天亚[20]采用生物力学模型研究汽车乘员胸廓包覆肝脏的碰撞生物力学响应与损伤程度。韩旭[21]应用TUST IBMs 3YO模型探究碰撞过程中3岁儿童乘员胸腹部损伤机制。
为了进一步探究多种姿态下儿童乘员胸腹部损伤机制,本文应用具有详实解剖学结构的3种不同坐姿6岁儿童乘员有限元模型,加载正面50%重叠移动渐进变形壁障(mobile progressive deformable barrier,MPDB)碰撞减速度曲线,通过对儿童乘员胸腹部运动学参数以及生物力学参数对比分析,研究坐姿角度对6岁儿童乘员胸腹部损伤的影响。
采用现代汽车安全技术国际联合研究中心开发的具有详实解剖学结构的人体损伤仿生模型(TUST injury bionic models,TUST IBMs)。基于105°标准坐姿6岁儿童乘员损伤仿生模型(TUST IBMs 6YO-O),以乘员髋臼内凹面中心连线为旋转轴,连线中点为旋转中心分别获得120°坐姿和135°坐姿6岁儿童乘员有限元模型[见图1(a)]。模型中脑组织、内脏、肌肉、骨骼采用六面体单元,皮肤、韧带采用壳单元,各部分之间采用共节点连接,该系列模型通过重构尸体试验验证了其有效性[22-25]
通过预压缩使儿童安全座椅与汽车座椅充分接触,儿童乘员与儿童安全座椅良好贴合,摩擦系数分别设置为0.3和0.2。其中儿童约束系统采用增高垫和三点式安全带,安全带限力为3 kN,预紧力为2.7 kN,预紧时间为13 ms。对座椅约束系统进行有效性验证[见图2(a)]。依据正面50% MPDB碰撞试验要求,将3种坐姿6岁儿童乘员有限元模型约束在儿童安全座椅上,并分别对仿真模型加载某SUV车型在正面50% MPDB测试中的减速度曲线[见图2(b)、(c)],重力加速度为9.8 m/s2
碰撞中安全带伸长量处于峰值时,胸部加速度在安全带集中作用力下达到最大,然后继续做减速运动直至最大压缩量;而头颈部在惯性力作用下做屈曲运动,最后逐渐回到初始位置。3组实验中,安全带伸长量峰值时刻存在差异,且呈先增加后减小的变化趋势[见图3(a)]。
根据E-NCAP中胸部加速度提取位置要求,将T4胸椎设置为胸部运动轨迹输出位置,且基于120°坐姿中T4初始坐标位置,将105°坐姿和135°坐姿中T4初始位置进行平移,使其在同一水平面。观察T4在X-Z平面中的运动轨迹发现,在胸部弯曲过程中,运动轨迹的变化趋势相似,但Z轴位移随坐姿角度增加呈现先增加后减小的变化趋势;在胸部回弹过程中,运动轨迹存在较大差异,其中120°坐姿时,存在明显的下潜现象[见图3(b)]。
由3种坐姿儿童乘员T4运动轨迹随时间变化曲线可见,碰撞过程中胸部在水平方向运动轨迹的变化趋势较为相似。在碰撞开始的30 ms内,3种坐姿模型胸部水平运动轨迹高度重合;但在30~110 ms内,胸部水平位移随坐姿角度增加呈现先增加后减小的变化趋势,然而120°坐姿时胸部水平位移较大。胸部Z向运动轨迹整体呈现先下降后反弹的趋势,但是120°坐姿模型呈现下降趋势而其余两种呈现上升趋势。此外,胸部Z向运动的反弹时刻呈现先延迟后提前的变化趋势[见图3(c)]。
采用儿童乘员胸腹部损伤评估标准[26]:6岁儿童胸腹部合成加速度不得超过55 g,胸部3 ms合成加速度不得超过30 g(持续时间少于3 ms除外)、胸部压缩量[27]和VC[28]评估儿童乘员损伤风险。采用脊椎弯曲角度以及应力分布可以直观表现脊椎损伤位置以及损伤类型。结果表明,不同坐姿下胸部合成加速度变化趋势相似,但峰值时刻分别为45、60、50 ms,呈先增加后减小趋势;而峰值逐渐增加,分别为49.6、50.6、56.7 g;分析得到不同坐姿下胸部3 ms合成加速度分别为48、49、53 g[见图4(a)]。儿童乘员胸部最大压缩量分别为23.3、23.9、37.0 mm[见图4(b)]。3种坐姿的VC变化趋势相似,均由平缓出现峰值然后趋于平稳,峰值分别为0.15、0.25、0.32 m/s[见图4(c)]。为了更好表征不同坐姿下胸椎弯曲程度,胸椎初始角度定义方式如图5(a)所示。分析胸椎角度-时间变化曲线可知,不同坐姿下胸椎角度变化趋势相似,出现最大弯曲角度时刻相近,但角度弯曲程度随坐姿角度增加呈先增大后减小的变化趋势,且运动结束时刻,胸椎处于拉伸状态[见图4(d)]。
3种坐姿乘员腹部最大压缩量分别为19.4、19.8、22.2 mm,腹部最大VC分别为0.28、0.31、0.35 m/s[见图6(a)、(b)]。显然,随着坐姿角度增加,腹部压缩量和VC均逐渐递增。依据图5(b)定义的腰椎初始角度,不同坐姿下腰椎变化角度较小,且发生碰撞时,腰椎受到较为剧烈的震荡,不同椎骨之间存在反复的拉伸和压缩运动。在运动过程中,不同坐姿下腰椎最大弯曲角度以及拉伸角度时刻不存在明显的变化规律,但是压缩角度差距不大,而拉伸角度存在较大差异,且随坐姿角度增加拉伸程度逐渐减弱[见图6(c)]。
碰撞过程中,胸腹部内脏器官会对速度产生黏性阻力,内脏将会承受巨大的压力,在冲击速度较大的情况下,体内会产生强烈冲击波,一旦超过黏性阻力,内脏等部位就会产生损伤,并且在外部没有较大变形的情况下,这种损伤也会发生。仅通过胸腹部力学参数与加速度不能有效表征胸腹部内脏的损伤情况,为此,通常采用内脏器官的最大主应变对胸腹部进行损伤生物力学评价。Yamada等[29]研究得出肠的损伤应变为1.2。崔世海等[30]通过仿真实验发现,心脏发生一般性挫伤的第一主应变损伤阈值为0.3。Stitael等[31]研究证实,在有限元模型中,利用第一主应变能较好预测肺部损伤,并预测肺组织发生损伤的第一主应变损伤阈值约为0.284。Melvin等[32]通过动物实验获得心脏、肝脏、肾、脾损伤应变阈值为0.3。Lv等[33]通过仿真方法发现,塑性应变可以较好表征肋骨损伤程度,并预测肋骨发生骨折的塑性应变阈值为0.024~0.030。
本文发现,儿童乘员R1骨折风险与坐姿角度相关性较小,但肋骨最大塑性应变出现位置随坐姿角度变化存在差异性。其中,随坐姿角度增加,肋骨应变峰值由R11逐渐向上移动,且从上至下逐渐减小[见图7(a)]。肺部损伤风险以及损伤位置对坐姿角度敏感,导致应变集中位置分别出现在右肺顶部(105°)、左肺底部(120°、135°),但均呈辐射状分布[见图7(b)]。由心脏最大主应变变化趋势可见,坐姿角度对心脏损伤因素存在较大影响,使应变峰值分别分布在心脏底部(105°、135°)、心脏顶部(120°),但是应力扩散趋势相似[见图7(c)]。观察不同坐姿下胸椎最大弯曲时刻von Mises应力分布发现,其应力峰值与胸椎弯曲角度峰值成正比,且峰值均出现在T1胸椎位置。此外,T1~5胸椎应力远大于其余椎骨[见图7(d)]。腰椎压缩运动造成的应力峰值对坐姿角度敏感程度较低,而拉伸运动造成的应力峰值受坐姿角度影响较大,与不同坐姿下腰椎角度变化趋势相似[见图7(e)、(f)]。本文认为,腰椎损伤机制与乘员坐姿角度存在较大的相关性。
此外,比较不同坐姿下脾、肝、胃、大肠、小肠应变峰值发现,3种坐姿腹部内脏器官最大主应变分布趋势相似,且随坐姿角度增加呈递增趋势(见图8)。
表1为3组实验得到的儿童乘员胸腹部损伤评价参数及差异性[32,34-38]。坐姿角度每增加15°,胸部合成加速度增加量以及胸部压缩量增加速率呈递增趋势,且坐姿角度超过120°时,胸部运动学损伤风险大幅度增加。根据E-NCAP(2020版)儿童乘员损伤评价准则可知,3组实验中胸部合成加速度分别超出法规高性能限值17.1%、19.5%、29.3%;压缩量峰值超出法规高性能限值19.3%(135°)。因此,碰撞过程中,安全带与胸部的贴合度对乘员胸部损伤存在较大影响,且坐姿角度增加对儿童乘员胸部保护效果起负作用。
碰撞过程中,腹部压缩量主要受安全带腹带影响,坐姿角度的增加,儿童乘员下潜趋势明显,导致腹部受力随坐姿角度增加呈递增趋势,且与标准坐姿相比(105°),腹部压缩量分别增加2.1%、14.4%,但运动过程中,儿童乘员受力主要来自约束系统肩带,故腹部压缩量峰值均小于法规高性能限值。
随着坐姿角度增加,胸部VC值相对标准坐姿分别增加了67%和113%,腹部VC分别增加10.7%、25%。VC计算公式如下[27]

本文认为,VC主要受压缩量以及压缩速率影响。坐姿角度每增加15°,胸部和腹部VC分别增加约0.08、0.03 m/s,其增加量变化趋势与压缩量存在较大差异性。出现这种现象的主要原因是坐姿角度为120°时,胸腹部压缩量的斜率比105°标准坐姿高,导致在胸腹部压缩量峰值相近的情况下,VC增加量更大;当坐姿角度为135°时,胸腹部压缩量峰值最大,但其变化速率与120°坐姿相似,导致VC值增加量低于压缩量的增加量。因此,VC增加量与压缩量的增加量变化趋势不存在必然联系,且压缩速率同样是评估胸部损伤的重要指标。
交通事故中,内脏器官损伤风险与胸腹部变形量不存在必然性联系[39]。肋骨腔发生变形前,内脏器官可能已经造成损伤,针对假人模型制定的儿童乘员损伤评价准则不能全面有效分析儿童乘员损伤情况,因此,通过分析有限元仿生模型内脏器官的生物力学参数有助于评价胸腹部损伤风险。3组仿真实验中,约束系统肩带均对儿童乘员肋骨产生较大的作用力,导致R1出现骨折现象;而腹带对儿童乘员的作用力导致105°坐姿和120°坐姿在R11处产生应变集中现象,但135°坐姿下,腹带对肋骨的作用力大幅度减小,使肋骨最大主应变主要集中在R1。因此,在不采用肩部导向环时,三点式安全带对儿童乘员肋骨存在极大危害。
坐姿角度的增加降低了肺部与脊椎的挤压概率,但会增加其与心脏的挤压风险。由于心脏为柔性体,因此120°坐姿下肺部最大主应变小于标准坐姿,且135°坐姿时肺部损伤最小。坐姿角度的增加使肺部损伤主要表现为软组织之间的挤压现象,有效降低了肺部损伤程度;且胸部脂肪以及肋骨吸收的能量呈递增趋势,使胸部软组织得到有效的保护。但是坐姿角度越大,胸部脂肪以及肋骨吸能效果越差,造成每增加15°,肺部最大主应变减少量呈递减趋势。
心脏与椎骨产生挤压风险的概率同样随坐姿角度增加呈递减趋势,但临界角度与肺部相比存在差异性。儿童乘员105°和120°坐姿时,心脏最大主应变产生的主要原因是在安全带的作用下心脏与椎骨产生相互挤压作用,但坐姿角度增加有效降低了其与椎骨产生挤压的概率,造成120°坐姿下心脏最大主应变较小。当坐姿处于135°时,心脏最大主应变主要由于肺部挤压作用产生,使其应变峰值进一步降低。此外,儿童乘员运动过程中,心脏受到脂肪、肋骨以及肺部的保护,且碰撞产生的能量主要由这些组织吸收,因此心脏损伤风险较低。3组实验表明,坐姿角度对肺部和心脏的损伤风险影响较大,且坐姿角度增加会减少胸部软组织吸收的能量,使得内脏器官的损伤风险减小。
3组实验中腹部内脏器官最大主应变均小于损伤阈值,但是坐姿角度增加使损伤风险呈现递增趋势。分析碰撞过程发现,儿童乘员腹部软组织损伤主要表现为不同内脏之间的相互挤压,随着坐姿角度增加,儿童乘员下潜现象逐渐明显,约束系统腹带对腹部作用力不断,加剧腹部软组织相互挤压,使腹部软组织损伤风险增大。
分析脊椎角度随时间变化曲线发现,坐姿角度对脊椎的损伤程度以及损伤形式存在较大影响,该结果与数值测试以及试验得到的结论一致,因此,如果在事故再现中不考虑这些影响因素,结论可能不全面。发生碰撞时,脊椎承受着复杂的载荷,在事故中被认为是人体的一个薄弱环节。根据儿童运动状态以及脊椎角度可知,脊椎损伤主要是由于腰带在撞击过程中起到支点的作用,造成腰带周围的脊椎弯曲,表现为不同坐姿下胸椎损伤机制主要是压缩-弯曲,并且对坐姿角度较为敏感。腰椎的不同载荷条件,产生了不同的损伤机制,在标准坐姿下,压缩-弯曲和拉伸-弯曲均对腰椎造成大概率损伤,而其余两种坐姿角度,腰椎损伤主要表现为压缩-弯曲损伤。因此,碰撞过程中,约束系统腰带在限制乘员骨盆轴向运动同时,也使脊椎的受力方式更加复杂,损伤风险更高,且坐姿角度增加可以降低脊椎损伤风险,但不可避免脊椎发生损伤。
本文采用具有详实解剖学结构的3种坐姿6岁儿童乘员有限元模型,加载某款SUV正面50% MPDB碰撞减速度曲线,对儿童乘员胸腹部运动学参数及生物力学参数进行对比分析,研究儿童乘员坐姿角度对胸腹部碰撞损伤的影响。通过仿真实验得出以下结论:
(1)碰撞过程中,安全带约束路径以及重力沿胸部法线方向的分量对胸部运动轨迹影响较大,主要表现为水平方向整体存在相似性,但回弹时刻以及峰值存在差异性;Z轴方向整体存在较大的差异性。因此,坐姿角度对胸部Z向运动影响更显著。
(2)碰撞过程中,儿童乘员胸腹部运动学损伤风险与坐姿角度呈正相关,且坐姿角度超过120°时,现有约束系统保护效果将大幅度降低,胸腹部损伤风险呈倍数增加。此外,胸腹部VC受压缩量以及压缩速率影响,其增加量变化趋势与压缩量存在差异性,且胸腹部压缩速率同样是评估损伤程度的重要指标。
(3)MPDB工况下,在没有肩部导向环时,三点式安全带对肋骨存在极大威胁,且与坐姿角度无关。胸部内脏器官损伤风险与坐姿角度呈负相关,且坐姿角度的增加可以有效降低肺部、心脏与脊椎发生挤压风险,但其临界值存在差异。此外,在胸部内脏器官中,肺部损伤风险最高,对坐姿角度最敏感。腹部内脏损伤风险与坐姿角度呈正相关,但是不同软组织的最大主应变均小于损伤阈值,不会造成实质性损伤。其中,脾与肝脏最易损伤,且肝脏对坐姿角度最敏感。
(4)基于MPDB碰撞工况中不同坐姿儿童乘员脊椎角度以及应力峰值发现,三点式安全带对儿童脊椎很难起到保护作用,压缩-弯曲损伤是造成脊椎骨折的主要损伤类型,并且坐姿角度增加降低了脊椎损伤风险,但不可避免脊椎发生损伤。因此,应进一步优化儿童约束系统。
(5)儿童乘员物理假人不能全面反映儿童乘员损伤程度以及约束系统的保护效果,应基于生物力学模型,结合运动学参数和生物力学参数综合考评,对损伤进行全面深度分析评价,进而制定更加全面和有效的评价准则。
综上所述,儿童约束系统防护评价应综合考虑胸腹部运动学参数、内脏器官生物力学参数、脊椎损伤风险,以及儿童乘员坐姿角度。本研究结果对智能驾驶系统中6岁儿童乘员约束系统研发具有重要的应用价值。
