In the past decade, approximately one-third of civil aviation safety incidents have been related to landing, with hard landings comprising one-fifth of these landing-related incidents. Hard landings not only damage aircraft structures but also can lead to aircraft destruction or loss of life in severe cases. However, statistical data on hard landings remain limited. This paper systematically analyzes hard landing criteria through a review of quantitative standards, simulation analysis, and machine learning techniques. It also conducts a statistical examination of 53 typical hard landing incidents of mainstream aircraft such as Boeing-737 and Airbus-A320 over the past decade, offering a detailed exploration of common structural damage patterns associated with hard landings. Results show that heavy landing incidents often cause damage of different degrees to the aircraft's landing gear, fuselage, wings, and other key components. Moreover, the extent of damage differs significantly among various types of heavy landing incidents.

近十年来,民航飞机的重着陆事故引起了广泛关注,约1/3的民航飞机安全事故与着陆相关,其中重着陆事故几乎占着陆事故的1/5。重着陆不仅对飞机结构造成损害,严重时甚至会导致飞机毁坏或人员伤亡。然而,关于重着陆的统计数据仍不足。本研究通过定量标准、仿真分析和机器学习方法,系统研究了重着陆的判定标准及其对飞机结构的损伤模式,并通过对波音737、空客A320等主流机型过去十年内53起典型重着陆事故进行了详细统计与分析。研究结果表明,重着陆事故通常会对飞机的起落架、机身、机翼等关键部件造成不同程度的损伤;不同类型的重着陆事故对飞机结构的破坏程度差异显著。

近十年来,民航飞机的重着陆事故引起了广泛关注,约1/3的民航飞机安全事故与着陆相关,其中重着陆事故几乎占着陆事故的1/5。重着陆不仅对飞机结构造成损害,严重时甚至会导致飞机毁坏或人员伤亡。然而,关于重着陆的统计数据仍不足。本研究通过定量标准、仿真分析和机器学习方法,系统研究了重着陆的判定标准及其对飞机结构的损伤模式,并通过对波音737、空客A320等主流机型过去十年内53起典型重着陆事故进行了详细统计与分析。研究结果表明,重着陆事故通常会对飞机的起落架、机身、机翼等关键部件造成不同程度的损伤;不同类型的重着陆事故对飞机结构的破坏程度差异显著。

In the past decade, approximately one-third of civil aviation safety incidents have been related to landing, with hard landings comprising one-fifth of these landing-related incidents. Hard landings not only damage aircraft structures but also can lead to aircraft destruction or loss of life in severe cases. However, statistical data on hard landings remain limited. This paper systematically analyzes hard landing criteria through a review of quantitative standards, simulation analysis, and machine learning techniques. It also conducts a statistical examination of 53 typical hard landing incidents of mainstream aircraft such as Boeing-737 and Airbus-A320 over the past decade, offering a detailed exploration of common structural damage patterns associated with hard landings. Results show that heavy landing incidents often cause damage of different degrees to the aircraft's landing gear, fuselage, wings, and other key components. Moreover, the extent of damage differs significantly among various types of heavy landing incidents.

重着陆(heavy landing),在某些地区也称为硬着陆(hard landing),参考波音公司对其定义如下:飞机着陆时垂直加速度超过规定极限值或者垂直方向上的速度超过规定值即为重着陆[1-3]。当异常天气条件、机械问题、飞机超重、飞行员决策或操作失误便可能引起飞机以比正常着陆更大的垂直速度和力量撞击地面[4]。而空客公司将硬着陆、超重着陆(下文简称“重着陆”)以及高俯仰率着陆均纳入重着陆检查范围内。与飞机不受控制的下降到地面(坠机)不同,重着陆发生时,飞行员仍然可以完全或部分控制飞机。据International Civil Aviation Organization[5]、National Transportation Safety Board[6]以及Aviation Safety Network[7]事故数据统计,2013—2022年间,全球发生的815起民航飞机安全事故中,着陆不安全事件发生267起,其中重着陆事故约占到了总事故的6.1%(图1)。由于重着陆至少导致16架飞机损毁、29架严重损坏、8架较为轻微的损坏(图2)。可见,重着陆事故发生率虽占比不高,但对飞机的影响程度有增大的趋势,尤其是导致损毁的比例明显上升。
目前,关于重着陆的研究主要集中在事故征候统计[8]、风险评估预测[9-17]以及智能诊断技术[18-20]等领域。当飞机发生重着陆时,轻则可能导致乘客感到轻微不适或结构受损,重则可能引发飞机严重故障,甚至造成人员伤亡。此外,重着陆可能对飞机的起落架、起落架与机身的连接部位以及机身结构等产生不同程度的影响。因此,明确重着陆的判断方法,并预测在不同情况下重着陆可能引发的各种后果,具有重要意义。
随着计算机计算能力的提升,通过仿真建模从部件到整机层面对飞机重着陆进行分析逐渐成为可能。因此,通过案例分析明确各类重着陆工况的输入参数,并梳理重着陆的主要影响区域、结构以及主要损伤模式显得尤为关键。然而,国内外相关研究资料较为匮乏。因此,在采用仿真建模方法进行飞机重着陆分析时需要准确的参数输入,并对重着陆的主要影响区域、结构及可能导致的损伤模式进行详细判定。
本研究对ASN、NTSB等数据库中记录的世界各地波音737与空客A320等主流民航客机近十年内发生的53起重着陆事故案例进行了统计分析,为民航客机重着陆冲击动力学仿真提供了数据支持。同时,对现有的各类主流重着陆判定与分析方法进行了综合论述。
从定量分析的角度对升降率为零的理想状态下飞机重着陆进行受力分析,根据动量守恒定律以及牛顿定律可得着陆载荷计算方法如下。
式中:m为飞机着陆质量;v为飞机接地瞬间垂直方向的下沉速度;f为飞机接地瞬间地面对飞机的反作用力;t为接地时长;W为飞机着陆时重力大小;g为重力加速度。
考虑到飞机接地时,在垂直方向上是一个假设的均匀减速过程,即f恒定,则着陆载荷计算方法如下。
式中,s为飞机下沉速度从接地开始到大小为零时主轮的压缩距离。
由上文提及的理想状态下着陆载荷计算方法可推知,飞机着陆时载荷与下沉速度以及垂直加速度呈正相关趋势。而对飞机不同姿态下着陆载荷进行分析还可知,着陆载荷还受到飞机质量、俯仰角度和滚转角度的影响[21-22]
通过对国内外适航标准和波音、空客等飞机制造商提供的飞机维护手册以及航空公司相关规定中对重着陆判定标准进行调研,可知目前对于重着陆的定量判定标准因飞机制造商与飞机机型等因素不同而存在差异。其中较为权威的重着陆定量判定标准如下。
1)中国民用航空规章:运输类飞机适航标准(CCAR-25-R4)[23]
对于小于或等于飞机设计最大着陆质量的着陆情况(非超重着陆),限制下沉速度为3.05 m/s(即10 ft/s);对于设计起飞质量(以减小的下沉速度着陆情况中的最大质量)时的着陆情况,限制下沉速度为1.83 m/s(即6 ft/s)。
2)波音公司飞机维护手册[24]
对于小于或等于飞机设计最大着陆质量(非超重着陆),主起落架垂直加速度峰值超过2.1g(具体判定标准因机型不同而存在差异,如77型飞机为1.8g);对于小于或等于飞机设计最大着陆质量,主起落架垂直加速度远小于2.1g,但着陆过程飞机滚转坡度大于2°也可能是重着陆(具体判定标准因机型不同而存在差异,需参考对应机型AMM手册);飞机着陆质量大于最大着陆质量453.59 kg(1000磅)以上为超重着陆(overweight landing),超重着陆在重着陆范畴之外,但超重着陆常导致过大的下沉速度或g值,与重着陆密切相关。
3)空客公司飞机维护手册[25]
硬着陆(hard landing):对于小于或等于飞机设计最大着陆质量的着陆情况(非超重着陆),飞机重心处的垂直加速度大于等于2.6g且小于2.86g,或者垂直速度大于等于10 ft/s且小于14 ft/s(1 ft=0.304 8 m)。
严重硬着陆(severe hard landing):对于小于或等于飞机设计最大着陆质量的着陆情况,飞机重心处的垂直加速度大于2.86g,或者垂直速度大于等于14 ft/s。
重着陆(hard overweight landing):对于大于飞机设计最大着陆质量的着陆情况,飞机重心处的垂直加速度大于等于1.7g且小于2.60g,或者垂直速度大于等于6 ft/s且小于13 ft/s。
严重重着陆(severe hard overweight landing):对于大于飞机设计最大着陆质量的着陆情况,飞机重心处的垂直加速度大于2.60g,或者垂直速度大于等于13 ft/s。
高俯仰率着陆:对于小于或等于飞机设计最大着陆质量的着陆情况,俯仰变化率超过10°/s(民航客机由于高俯仰率着陆很可能引起着陆过载,重着陆判定方法对该工况仍适用)。
本研究对重着陆的判定方法均参考空客公司飞机维护手册中的相关规定,如图3图4所示。并且,下文对以上几种着陆情况统称为重着陆。
基于仿真分析的重着陆判定方法指利用计算机模拟飞机在着陆时的运动和受力情况,结合机体变形和受力情况或垂直速度与加速度等规定进行分析和判定[26]。该方法相对于传统基于QAR(quick access recorder)数据判断的方法具有更准确且细致的特点。因为QAR数据采集频率和区域有限,而基于有限元分析FEA(finite element analysis)和多体动力学MBD(multi-body dynamics)分析的仿真方法可对着陆过程中机体变形和受力情况进行全过程细致评估,但需要在计算效率和关注区域精细化建模间进行取舍。
目前,已有许多学者利用该方法对小型飞机或飞机部件进行重着陆仿真分析,但受制于计算效率,该方法在大型飞机整机重着陆分析中应用较少。OH等[27]利用FEA研究了不同着陆角度下重着陆对老龄飞机的主起落架和机翼部件的结构完整性进行了评估。结果表明,重着陆时,主起落架的下侧支撑处出现了应力集中现象。CRISTIANI等[28]采用MBD和FEA耦合分析的方法对旋翼机紧急着陆时的动态过程和结构响应进行了仿真分析,并与实验进行了对照,提供了一种基于MBD和FEA耦合的飞机重着陆仿真分析方法。ESSIENUBONG等[29]利用LS-DYNA对超重着陆工况下的轮胎结构影响进行了分析,研究结果显示,重着陆对轮胎的损害程度与飞机着陆质量成正相关趋势。LEE等[30]提出了一种耦合MBD和线性动态仿真模型并结合扩展的惯性释放技术的高效仿真方法,并准确判断是否发生重着陆。
与仿真建模方法相比,机器学习的判定方法避免了计算复杂度高、模型假设限制等问题。机器学习方法可在飞行过程中进行实时监控和判定,具有高度自动化的特点,无需手动构建复杂的物理模型。并且,机器学习模型可以不断更新和优化,适应不同类型的飞机和不同的飞行条件。但机器学习模型的性能高度依赖于训练数据的质量和数量并且其决策逻辑难以解释。
基于机器学习的重着陆判定方法主要包含垂直速度、加速度、俯仰角、飞行高度等数据收集;提取有助于区分重着陆和正常着陆的关键特征;利用支持向量机SVM(support vector machine)[31-36]、随机森林[1737]、神经网络[1438]等算法训练模型以及通过测试数据集对模型进行验证,评估模型的准确性和鲁棒性,并通过调整超参数或算法来优化模型性能等步骤。与传统的基于垂直速度或速度超限判定的方法不同,机器学习方法能够将下沉率、侧向加速度、横滚角和俯仰角变化率等多种影响因素纳入诊断训练,从而建立多指标的重着陆诊断模型。
初雪菲[39]、韩韶华[40]对基于机器学习的民航重着陆诊断模型进行了归纳。可得,在重着陆诊断中,随机森林模型在AUC、精度和查全率方面表现较好。SVM的召回率最高,神经网络最差,但随机森林的召回率与SVM相差不大。基于随机森林的模型构造简单、准确且能获取特征重要性;SVM适合样本不足和非线性数据分类,受不平衡样本影响小,查准率和查全率差距小。相比之下,神经网络表现较差,AUC和查全率均低,因其对训练样本要求高,且正例样本有限,容易导致过拟合。3种模型ROC(receiver operating characteristic)曲线以及AUC、查全率、查准率与精度柱状图如图5图6所示。
以空客公司的硬着陆、严重硬着陆、重着陆和严重重着陆的判定标准为基础,针对4个典型民机硬着陆案例、7个严重硬着陆案例、4个重着陆案例以及4个严重重着陆案例事故调查报告进行了详细梳理分析。基于QAR数据[41-57]对各个案例中接地速度、着陆时俯仰角度、最大垂直加速度以及垂直速度取算术平均数得到了不同重着陆工况下民机的典型事故场景数据(表1)。事故典型场景雷达图如图7所示。
环境中对飞机着陆具有影响的因素很多,本节主要结合对飞机重着陆具有显著影响的因素如进近着陆时机场风速、能见度等气象条件进行梳理[41-57],可得如下结论。
1)典型硬着陆场景具有如下特点:进近与着陆时风速在10~16 kn之间,普遍满足进近与着陆风速要求,且事故时能见度状况普遍良好;事故原因主要为进近遇到轻微风切变以及飞行员操纵不当,导致飞机进近姿态不稳定下降率过大,遭遇风切变时处理不当,或俯仰角度与弹跳控制不当。
2)典型严重硬着陆场景具有如下特点:飞行员操作不规范仍为主要因素,其中包括在进近和着陆阶段的操作不当,如进近速度过快、俯仰角度不当、着陆姿态不稳定等;一半事故发生在风切变以及阵风气象条件下,并且一半严重硬着陆事故伴随弹跳现象,这通常与着陆姿态不当或下降速度过快有关,弹跳可能导致第二次着陆时飞机单个起落架受到过大的冲击力从而导致对单个起落架结构造成严重损坏。此外,飞机机翼结冰也可能导致飞机在着陆过程中具有过大的垂直速度。
3)典型重着陆场景具有如下特点:着陆前普遍存在飞行员对飞机质量和能量管理不当的现象;进近与着陆过程中强烈的侧风和阵风导致着陆姿态不稳定带来的弹跳或不当姿态着陆会进一步加剧重着陆对飞机结构损伤;进近过程中,飞行员为避免着陆速度过大,减小超重着陆的风险从而维持了飞机较高的俯仰姿态,这种高俯仰角度着陆姿态可能导致机尾擦地。
4)典型严重重着陆场景具有如下特点:严重重着陆通常在严重的恶劣气象条件发生,阵风风速高达40 kn或伴随雷暴现象;在飞机以超出标准的速度与质量触地后常伴随严重的多次弹跳,严重重着陆弹跳常具有速度、俯仰/横滚角度变化快的特点,在第二次弹跳发生时飞机结构常发生严重损坏,飞行员很难从该状态中改出并复飞;并且,严重重着陆时飞机具有远大于正常工况的能量,对结构的破坏常常是灾难性的。由于超重着陆时飞机通常还有大量燃油未消耗,严重重着陆常引起火灾,带来严重的后果。
根据近十年53起重着陆事故案例统计可得重着陆事故的主要损伤结构与典型损伤模式如下。
1)起落架损伤模式:起落架损伤是重着陆事故中是最常见的损伤类型之一。其中通常包括轮胎爆破脱落、起落架产生严重的塑性变形,起落架缓冲支柱出现裂纹或形变以及起落架支撑结构断裂导致起落架塌陷等问题。此外还可能出现起落架转向系统、起落架收放系统等部件失效的问题。
2)机身损伤模式:包括与起落架所在区域的机身蒙皮起褶皱、破损或撕裂,隔框、桁条的塑性变形或折断;机尾与地面摩擦导致蒙皮产生裂缝和刮痕。其中,蒙皮褶皱或产生裂缝和刮痕是最常见的损伤模式,其次是隔框、桁条等结构发生塑性变形或断裂[58]
3)机翼损伤模式:包括机翼与地面擦伤,机翼蒙皮起褶皱,襟翼或副翼等舵面变形,机翼折断。
4)发动机损伤模式:轮胎爆胎使碎片冲击发动机叶片,螺旋桨叶片与地面接触从而折断或破损,发动机着火。
5)其他损伤模式:襟翼、扰流板等机构失效以及辅助动力装置磨损。
近十年发生的53起重着陆事故案例中,各部件损伤频率如图8所示。
由上述统计可得,重着陆主要对飞机起落架和机身结构产生较大影响,并且不同类别的重着陆对飞机起落架和机身结构的损伤程度存在显著区别。下文根据硬着陆、严重硬着陆、重着陆和严重重着陆事故调查报告,系统概述这些不同类型的重着陆对起落架和机身结构的影响。
根据事故的典型场景,可将飞机分为3种不同的着陆工况。
1)飞机以正常姿态触地时,可能会导致主起落架的一些部件承受超过其设计负荷极限的载荷,从而可能出现裂纹等损伤。
2)飞机以大俯仰角度姿态触地时,可能会导致机尾下部受到撞击和刮擦,加强筋和蒙皮会发生磨损。机尾隔框可能会发生变形,并且机尾侧面可能会出现凹痕和变形。
3)飞机在着陆后弹跳时,起落架受到剧烈冲击,导致其下部结构中的局部液压阻尼显著增加,使起落架缓冲支柱由于异常高的应力而发生破损,从而导致起落架内的液压油泄漏。如果飞机以低头姿态反弹着陆,会在前起落架上施加过高的垂直载荷,可能导致前起落架轮轴发生形变。前机身下部的前隔框和桁条可能会发生变形,导致蒙皮出现褶皱,如图9所示。同时,中机身或前机身上方的蒙皮可能也会出现褶皱。
根据事故的典型场景,可将飞机分为2种不同的着陆姿态。
1)飞机以正常姿态触地时,可能会导致主起落架缓冲支柱产生较大的永久变形或裂纹。在下降速度较大的情况下,严重硬着陆可能导致前机轮爆胎,甚至在横滚角度较大时可能导致机轮轮毂断裂。前起落架以较大的垂直加速度触地时,可能使前起落架阻力撑杆断裂,引发前起落架的塌陷。导致机身两侧腹部整流罩蒙皮出现褶皱、机身中部隔框与长桁变形。
2)飞机在着陆后弹跳时,可能导致飞机姿态不稳定,难以控制俯仰角和横滚角。该情况下,可能引起单个起落架垂直载荷出现过大的集中,从而引发严重的结构损伤,例如前起落架塌陷、爆胎和轮毂破裂等问题。此外还可能导致前轮轮舱内部的一些支架可能会折叠,如图10所示,前起落架上方的机身隔框可能会出现弯曲和裂纹。
通常情况下,前起落架上方的机身蒙皮也会出现褶皱。此外,也可能导致中机身翼根上方区域出现褶皱,翼根处的翼梁也可能发生变形。
重着陆事故发生时通常伴随多次弹跳。飞机在弹跳过程中可能会出现俯仰角度过大因此导致机尾擦地。飞机在着陆后弹跳时,前起落架可能承受过大的负载,导致前起落架轮胎内表面之间出现褶皱,并导致前起落架缓冲支柱的变形,同时可能引起轮轴、减震支柱和内筒衬内的划痕。当横滚角度过大时,可能导致一侧主起落架与机身连接螺栓被切断,使起落架塌陷。前起落架承受过大的负载会传递至机身,导致前机身结构受损。例如,飞机前机身上部蒙皮可能会出现断裂和变形,机身隔框与多根长桁可能会出现裂缝和变形,还可能导致前起落架舱门变形,如图11所示。弹跳引起的姿态不稳定性或重着陆时过高的俯仰角度还可能导致后机身与跑道发生刮擦,进而导致刮擦部位的蒙皮损坏,隔框和长桁的变形。
严重重着陆事发生时通常伴随异常的着陆姿态,可分为2种典型的着陆姿态。
1)飞机着陆后发生严重弹跳,期间可能引起前轮爆胎并使前起落架直接穿透驾驶舱。在连续的弹跳过程中,机翼可能发生撕裂或断裂,这可能导致油箱破损,从而引发严重的火灾。此外,机翼上的副翼、襟翼等舵面可能会变形,机翼蒙皮也可能会出现褶皱。机身隔框和长桁可能会发生变形,蒙皮也可能会出现撕裂,如图12所示。
2)飞机着陆或在反弹过程中以低头姿态触地时,过高的载荷施加在前起落架上可能使前起落架阻力撑杆断裂或主起落架与机身链接销钉剪断导致起落架塌陷。可能引起前起落架上方机身出现凹坑或蒙皮撕裂(图13)。起落架舱门以及电子设备舱门门框严重变形。前机身大量隔框变形或破损。
重着陆是一种危及飞行安全的事件,尤其是其对飞机起落架、机身、机翼等关键结构的影响不可忽视。本研究通过文献综述与案例分析统计得到如下结论与展望。
1)通过对全球范围内发生的重着陆事故进行统计,揭示了这一事件的主要诱因,如异常天气、飞行员操作失误等,并提供了详尽的典型着陆参数。
2)3种常用的重着陆判定方法分别为:基于定量标准的方法,通过对比着陆时的重要参数与相关规章来判定是否发生重着陆;基于仿真分析的方法,利用计算机模拟飞机的着陆过程;以及基于机器学习的方法,通过飞行数据训练模型进行自动化判断。
3)重着陆对飞机起落架和机身结构的影响尤为显著,且不同类型的重着陆事故对这些结构的损伤程度存在显著差异。
4)在重着陆诊断中,有限元仿真方法凭借其可解释性和精细化分析优势,表现出较大的潜力。随着计算效率的提升,未来基于统计数据的民航客机重着陆研究将更多依赖于有限元仿真技术,从而对其力学特性和损伤过程进行更为细致的分析。
