The ore grade of the Rossing Uranium Mine in Namibia is low and the processing capacity is large. The mined ore is mixed with some waste rocks, and the grinding and leaching costs are high. To solve this problem, the distribution patterns of ore particle size and uranium grade were studied, the radioactivity visibility of representative ore samples was calculated, the radioactive selectivity curve was drawn, and the theoretical sorting index based on the cut-off grade was determined. The theoretical sorting indicators are: when the cut-off grade is 0.01%, the raw ore uranium grade is 0.032%, the concentrate uranium grade is 0.047%, the tailings yield is 33.95%, the tailings uranium grade is 0.002 8%, and the total recovery rate is 96.37%. The results show that radioactive beneficiation has a certain effect and the ore selectivity is high. It is mainly suitable for tailing of coarse-grained and extremely low-grade ores. The radioactivity visibility can be used as the theoretical basis for radioactive beneficiation of Rossing Uranium Mine.

纳米比亚罗辛铀矿矿石品位低、矿山年处理量大,采出的矿石夹杂部分废石,磨矿和浸出成本较高。针对这一问题,研究了矿石粒度及铀品位分布规律,统计并计算了代表性矿样的放射性显明度,绘制了放射性可选性曲线。根据边界品位确定理论分选指标:当边界品位为0.01%时,原矿石铀品位为0.032%,精矿铀品位为0.047%,尾矿产率为33.95%,尾矿铀品位为0.002 8%,总回收率为96.37%。结果表明,纳米比亚罗辛铀矿采用放射性选矿效果较好,矿石的可选性较高;放射性选矿主要适用于粗粒级、极低品位矿石抛尾。放射性显明度可作为罗辛铀矿放射性选矿的理论依据。

The ore grade of the Rossing Uranium Mine in Namibia is low and the processing capacity is large. The mined ore is mixed with some waste rocks, and the grinding and leaching costs are high. To solve this problem, the distribution patterns of ore particle size and uranium grade were studied, the radioactivity visibility of representative ore samples was calculated, the radioactive selectivity curve was drawn, and the theoretical sorting index based on the cut-off grade was determined. The theoretical sorting indicators are: when the cut-off grade is 0.01%, the raw ore uranium grade is 0.032%, the concentrate uranium grade is 0.047%, the tailings yield is 33.95%, the tailings uranium grade is 0.002 8%, and the total recovery rate is 96.37%. The results show that radioactive beneficiation has a certain effect and the ore selectivity is high. It is mainly suitable for tailing of coarse-grained and extremely low-grade ores. The radioactivity visibility can be used as the theoretical basis for radioactive beneficiation of Rossing Uranium Mine.

罗辛铀矿(Rossing Uranium Mine)位于纳米比亚中西部[1],是世界上最大的白岗岩型铀矿床,矿山年处理量达1 000万吨,矿石平均铀品位(以U3O8计,下同)为0.03%~0.04%[2-3]。目前开采的矿石经破磨后全部进入水冶工序,由于矿石品位低、处理量大,磨矿和浸出成本较高[4-6]。通过放射性选矿技术将低品位废石抛弃,可提高罗辛铀矿水冶前的矿石品位,减少水冶处理量,进而降低矿山生产成本[7-11]
铀矿石具有天然放射性[12]。笔者根据矿石的放射性差异进行放射性分选和试验测定,参照矿样单位质量矿石γ净值与品位的关系进行统计、计算,研究罗辛铀矿放射性显明度,了解铀在矿石中的分布规律,进而评价罗辛铀矿的放射性可选性[13-14]
主要试验仪器与设备包括HD-2000型γ辐射仪、电子台秤、游标卡尺、振动筛分机、颚式破碎机。试验原料为罗辛铀矿生产现场经一段破碎后的矿石样品,将矿石分为≥165 mm、100 mm~<165 mm、60 mm~<100 mm、30 mm~<60 mm、<30 mm等5个粒级,分别称重、分析,计算矿石粒度组成及铀品位分布率(表1)。
表1可看出,矿石的平均铀品位为0.032%,适宜放射性分选的粗粒级矿石(≥30 mm),产率为64.88%;≥165 mm粒级占全粒级的32.41%。经一段破碎后,大块矿石较多,部分矿石粒级达到300 mm;矿石粒度越小,铀品位越高,48.73%的铀分布在<30 mm粒级矿石内,这部分矿石铀品位较高(0.045%)。铀在矿石中分布较不均匀,有利于放射性分选。
矿石分级与清洗:将分级后的矿石表面粘结的细泥用水冲洗,收集清洗的细泥并入<30 mm粒级矿石中。
矿块质量及γ值测量:用HD-2000型γ辐射仪对矿块进行测量,保持γ辐射仪与矿块间的距离为1 cm。每次测量矿石γ值前或环境变化前,均先测量3次环境本底值。测量每块矿石的质量及矿石的γ值,每块矿石的γ值测量3次,取平均值;将每块矿石的质量与γ值一一对应。
数据处理:根据测定的放射性显明度,绘制矿石的放射性显明度曲线,得到理论分选指标。
罗辛铀矿的矿石品位较低,综合铀品位仅为0.03%左右。因此在取参照矿样时,为了使拟合曲线在矿石低品位点更加密集,区间更加接近真实值,不含铀或含微量铀的矿石占比应大于1/2。根据参照矿样的元素分析结果,得到不同粒级矿石单位质量γ净值(γ净值=矿石γ测试值-本底值)与铀品位的多项拟合曲线(图1),以及矿石粒级范围与品位函数的对应关系(表2)。
图1表2可看出,不同粒级的矿石,单位质量矿石γ净值与品位的关系适用不同的函数。放射性选矿主要适宜粗选,采用多段接力式γ测量装置来减少误差。因此可认为本次试验得到的拟合曲线是可用的,该结果是罗辛铀矿放射性显明度研究的重要依据。
在试验中发现,因部分≥165 mm粒级的矿石过大,3次测量无法完整表征矿石的γ测试平均值;超过400 mm矿石的γ值测量,需要多点位、多方位进行测量取平均值;而30 mm~<60 mm粒级的矿石,在测量过程中仅测量1次即可完整表征矿石的γ测试值,这与γ辐射仪探头探测范围有关。<30 mm粒级矿石品位较高,铀分布率较高,矿石洗矿前后测量的γ值基本一致,矿石上粘附的矿粉对整个矿石的γ值影响不大,这可能是由于矿石上粘附的矿粉相对于整块矿石的占比很小。在实验室单独测量时,环境中基本没有粉尘,这对γ辐射仪的探测是有利的。
后续使用放射性选矿机进行试验,可以先分级,不同粒级矿石独立分选。在环境除尘较好的情况下,可不进行洗矿,这较适用于罗辛铀矿这种水资源较为缺乏的矿山。
放射性元素在单位体积的矿石间品位分布的不均匀程度,称放射性显明度。将测量的每一块矿石单位质量γ净值对应带入公式后,得到每一块矿石的计算品位,然后将可入选的粒级≥30mm矿石按照品位进行分组,分别计算产率、品位、回收率,得到相应的显明度(λi),以及精矿和尾矿的相关工艺指标。罗辛铀矿全粒级放射性显明度测定结果见表3,放射性可选性曲线见图2

式中:λi—第i组的显明度,%;i—铀品位组序号;pi—第i组的产率,%。
表3可看出,罗辛铀矿的矿石中,铀品位<0.01%的矿石约占全粒级可入选矿石总质量的52.27%,综合品位为0.002 8%,这部分矿石品位极低,可作为尾矿抛弃;铀品位>0.5%的矿石约占全粒级可入选矿石的0.16%,综合品位为0.886 3%,高品位矿石较少,矿石铀品位多集中在0.01%~0.03%之间。罗辛铀矿中的铀分布不均匀,极低品位的废石超过一半,可选性较好;可在原矿石经一段破碎后,通过放射性选矿提高水冶前的矿石品位。
当分选边界品位设定为0.01%时,精矿产率为47.73%(铀品位0.050 4%),尾矿产率为52.27%(铀品位0.002 8%);当分选边界品位设定为0.005%时,精矿产率为60.40%(铀品位0.041 3%);尾矿产率为39.60%(铀品位0.001 5%)。因本研究是在实验室静态测量环境下,对铀矿放射性可选性进行的粗略评价,边界品位设定较低;在工程应用中,需考虑细化动态测量精度与仪器设备灵敏度的适应性。
为探究分级分选适应性,将每个粒级的矿石分别按照品位进行分组,计算粒级分布率、品位、回收率。≥165 mm、100~<165 mm、60~<100 mm、30~<60 mm的放射性显明度见表4~表7
在≥165 mm矿石中,铀品位<0.01%的矿石约占≥165 mm矿石总质量的54.55%,这部分矿石综合铀品位为0.002%,铀分布率仅占4.81%,可作为尾矿抛弃。100~<165 mm的矿石大多不含铀或含微量铀,铀品位<0.01%的矿石约占该粒级矿石总质量的61.65%,这部分矿石的综合品位为0.003 7%,铀分布率占10.19%,可作为尾矿抛弃。在60 mm~<100 mm的矿石中,铀品位<0.01%的矿石约占该粒级矿石总质量的57.94%,这部分矿石的综合品位为0.003 6%,铀分布率占7.84%,可作为尾矿抛弃。30~<60 mm的矿石仅有少量不含铀或含微量铀,铀品位<0.01%的矿石约占该粒级矿石总质量的24.21%,这部分矿石的综合品位为0.004 3%,可作为尾矿抛弃。
矿石分级后的放射性显明度结果表明,≥60 mm的矿石大多不含铀或含微量铀,可采用放射性分选;30~<60 mm的矿石品位较高,为0.039 1%,达到罗辛铀矿水冶品位,且铀品位<0.01%的矿石仅占该粒级矿石总质量的24.21%,占全级的2.19%,放射性选矿抛尾率不高,因此可直接水冶。
罗辛铀矿在边界品位为0.01%时,<30 mm粒级的矿石品位较高,可直接合并至精矿;对≥30 mm粒级的矿石进行分选。分选后全粒级矿石加权平均品位为0.047%,尾矿产率为33.95%,尾矿品位为0.002 8%,精矿总回收率为96.37%。放射性选矿具有一定的效果,矿石的可选性较高,主要适用于极低品位矿石抛尾,而高品位矿石分组效果较差。不同粒级在分选边界品位(0.01%)下的理论分选指标见表8
罗辛铀矿适用于放射性选矿,可根据水冶铀品位需求,将一段破碎后的≥30 mm或≥60 mm的矿石进行放射性选矿,抛弃一部分不含铀或含微量铀的矿石。鉴于罗辛铀矿的年处理量较大,为提高分选效率,可先分级,再选矿。
对一段破碎后≥30 mm的矿石进行放射性选矿,在边界品位为0.01%时,选前平均品位为0.032%,选后精矿平均品位为0.047%,尾矿产率为33.95%,尾矿品位为0.002 8%,总回收率为96.37%,放射性选矿具有一定的效果。
罗辛铀矿石的可选性较高,可在原矿石经一段破碎后,放射性分选出极低品位矿石抛尾;因罗辛铀矿石高品位矿石较少,放射性选矿对高品位矿石的分组效果较差。
罗辛铀矿适于放射性选矿,可根据水冶铀品位需求,将一段破碎后≥30 mm或≥60 mm的矿石进行放射性选矿。一段破碎后的大块矿石,对放射性选矿探测设备的灵敏度要求较高,测量误差较大,使用接力式探测设备可减少误差。
不同粒级的矿石,单位质量矿石γ净值与品位的关系适用不同的拟合函数,后续采用放射性分选,可减少每个粒级范围,得到足够多的数学模型,进而更加准确地拟合γ净值与品位的关系。
本放射性显明度研究是在实验室静态测量环境下,对铀矿放射性可选性进行的粗略评价,在工程应用前需进一步细化动态测量精度与仪器设备灵敏度的适应性。参考文献:
