Rare earth elements are extensively utilized in defense technology and high-tech industries, leading to a surge in global demand. However, conventional recoverable rare earth resources are limited, necessitating the development and utilization of associated rare earth resources. Taking a sandstone-type uranium deposit in Ili Basin, Xinjiang as the research subject, using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) to test the content of rare earth elements and analyze their occurrence states. The differences in rare earth element occurrence under various particle sizes of uranium minerals are systematically investigated. The results show that associated rare earth element content within the Ili Basin's sandstone-type uranium deposit ranged from 85.48×10-6 to 221.17×10-6. The overall REE curve using average values derived from Australian Shale demonstrate a right-upper inclination trend, indicating fractionation between heavy and light rare earth elements during uranium mineralization processes. Fine ores with particle sizes <0.425 mm exhibite a higher propensity for REE occurrence. The correlation between rare elements such as Mo and Sc and rare earth elements is significant, and both have similar ore-forming environments. The mass concentration of rare earth elements in the production liquids of in-situ leaching site for uranium range from 23.92 to 26.03 mg/L, which reached the standard of recycling and use. The content of rare earth elements in the production liquid is medium rare earth elements, light rare earth elements and heavy rare earth elements from high to low. It is feasible to recover rare earth elements from sandstone uranium deposits using acid in-situ leaching process.

稀土元素在国防技术与高新科技中被大量使用,全球稀土元素需求剧增;然而常规可开采稀土资源数量有限,亟需开发利用伴生稀土资源。以新疆伊犁盆地某砂岩型铀矿为研究对象,采用电感耦合等离子体质谱仪(ICP-MS)测试稀土元素的含量,进而分析稀土元素的赋存状态,系统研究了铀矿物颗粒粒径对稀土元素赋存的影响。结果显示:该砂岩型铀矿含矿层中伴生稀土元素的质量分数为85.48×10-6~221.17×10-6,澳大利亚页岩标准化稀土配分曲线整体呈向右上倾斜趋势,铀成矿过程中轻重稀土间产生了分馏作用。砂岩铀矿中REE更倾向于赋存在粒径<40目(0.425 mm)的颗粒中,稀有元素Mo、Sc等与稀土元素的相关性显著,两者有相似的成矿环境。原地浸铀现场生产液中的稀土元素质量浓度为23.92~26.03 mg/L,达到了可以回收使用的标准,生产液中的稀土元素含量由高到低分别为中稀土元素、轻稀土元素、重稀土元素。应用酸法地浸采铀工艺,同步回收砂岩铀矿中的稀土元素具有一定的可行性。

Rare earth elements are extensively utilized in defense technology and high-tech industries, leading to a surge in global demand. However, conventional recoverable rare earth resources are limited, necessitating the development and utilization of associated rare earth resources. Taking a sandstone-type uranium deposit in Ili Basin, Xinjiang as the research subject, using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) to test the content of rare earth elements and analyze their occurrence states. The differences in rare earth element occurrence under various particle sizes of uranium minerals are systematically investigated. The results show that associated rare earth element content within the Ili Basin's sandstone-type uranium deposit ranged from 85.48×10-6 to 221.17×10-6. The overall REE curve using average values derived from Australian Shale demonstrate a right-upper inclination trend, indicating fractionation between heavy and light rare earth elements during uranium mineralization processes. Fine ores with particle sizes <0.425 mm exhibite a higher propensity for REE occurrence. The correlation between rare elements such as Mo and Sc and rare earth elements is significant, and both have similar ore-forming environments. The mass concentration of rare earth elements in the production liquids of in-situ leaching site for uranium range from 23.92 to 26.03 mg/L, which reached the standard of recycling and use. The content of rare earth elements in the production liquid is medium rare earth elements, light rare earth elements and heavy rare earth elements from high to low. It is feasible to recover rare earth elements from sandstone uranium deposits using acid in-situ leaching process.

稀土元素(REE)在地壳中的含量相对较高(150×10-6~220×10-6),但分布不集中,可开采的稀土矿床较少[1]。REE元素的物理化学性质独特,国防科技、新能源、航空等领域对稀土元素的需求量较大[2]。从废水和废渣等二次资源中可有效回收REE[3],在砂岩铀矿中也有一定的REE和稀有元素沉淀富集[4]7,内蒙古东胜地区的砂岩铀矿中的U元素与LREE有较好的相关性[5-6],在鄂尔多斯盆地砂岩型铀矿床中LREE相对HREE较为富集[7-10],在向阳坪矿床的沥青铀矿中稀土元素的含量变化情况与铀元素的含量变化情况一致[11-12]。另外,南非某铀矿样品中,铀嵌入在铀石、磷灰石和氟磷灰石矿物中的磷矿床中,LREE均匀赋存,而HREE产生了分馏,并具有强Tb正异常[13]
中国在新疆的伊犁盆地、吐哈盆地,以及内蒙古二连盆地发现了大型的砂岩型铀矿床[14],在砂岩型铀矿中稀土元素和稀有元素有一定程度的富集[4]1。现阶段的研究重点主要集中在利用稀土元素整体运移的活动性质来追踪铀矿中的铀成矿原理以及成岩特征[15];目前地浸砂岩型铀矿开采技术成熟,但对同步提取铀矿石中稀土元素的研究较少。笔者以新疆伊犁盆地的砂岩型铀矿为研究对象,探索其稀土元素的地球化学特征,旨在为从砂岩型铀矿中提取稀土元素提供支持。
伊犁盆地位于中国西部天山造山带内的伊犁—中天山的一个微地块,其南侧与塔里木板块接壤,以南天山作为分界线,整体向西延伸入哈萨克斯坦境内[16]。伊犁盆地从北到南可划分出3个Ⅳ级构造单元;其中北部坳陷带又可划分为4个Ⅴ级构造单元,分别是伊宁凹陷、巩乃斯凹陷、尼勒克凹陷和阿吾拉勒凸起[17]。伊宁凹陷由北向南又可分为更次一级的北部褶皱带、中央凹陷带和南部斜坡带,本研究的矿区主要位于伊宁凹陷南部斜坡带的中西部[18]
从垂向上分,伊犁盆地是典型的双层基底(结晶基底构造层和直接基底构造层)[19];直接基底构造层由上元古生界构成,是一套中下石炭统-下二叠统裂海相火山岩系褶皱地层[20],出露在盆地的南部和北部蚀源区,主要由中酸性火山岩、陆源碎屑岩等构成。伊犁盆地的盖层主要由中、新生界陆相碎屑沉积地层组成,自下而上又主要形成了三叠系、侏罗系、白垩系、古近系、新近系和第四系[21]9。伊犁盆地的铀矿床集中分布在盆地的伊宁凹陷南部斜坡带上,铀矿化主要在含煤碎屑岩中,工业铀矿化在三工河组和西山窑组扇三角洲沉积体系的产物中,在八道湾组与头屯河组冲积扇沉积岩中也有少量发育[22]28
研究矿区主要位于南缘斜坡带的东西部构造的过渡区域内,由南部山前控盆断裂和北部扎吉斯坦河断裂控制,是扎吉斯坦向斜东南翼重要组成部分[22]30。根据钻探揭露,南缘斜坡带发育的中新生代地层有石炭系与二叠系,主要处在矿床的南部,发育为陆源碎屑,岩性多为凝灰岩,主要的含矿目的层为中下侏罗统水西沟群,矿体集中赋存在三工河组、西山窑组[23]。该向斜为扎吉斯坦向斜,其轴部主要处在扎吉斯坦河谷地段,呈现出向北东方向敞开的屉状向斜构造形态,发育形成的3条主要断裂构造(F1、F2、F3)和2条次级断层(F4、F5),共同形成了一个断层组[21]14。研究区的成矿期可分为铀初始富集阶段、铀预富集阶段、主成矿期和快速叠加富集阶段等4个时期[24]。研究区赋存的地下水主要包含第四系潜水、新近系、侏罗系中下统水、西沟群层间承压水等4种类型[25]
矿石样品采自新疆伊犁盆地的某砂岩型铀矿区,从不同铀钻孔位置共采集了17个样品,并选取代表性样品K38与K64,将其分为>8目、8~>16目、16~>25目、25~>40目、40~>80目、≤80目6种不同粒径的矿样颗粒,并分别编号为F1~F6、F7~F12。同时,在研究矿区野外环境下,严格按照国家低中放射性物品相关规定,采集3个酸法地浸采铀现场生产液样品,并将所采集生产液留存10 kg,密封于采样桶。
样品送至湖南省湘核检测科技有限公司进行测量分析。用无污染碾磨机将样品碾碎,过200目筛,在500℃下烘干2 h。采用电感耦合等离子体质谱仪(ICP-MS)对样品中铀元素(U)、稀有元素(Sc、Se、Mo、Re)及稀土元素(La、Ce、Pr、Nd、Sm、Eu、Gd、Tb、Dy、Ho、Er、Tm、Yb、Lu以及Y)进行测试分析。测试温度为22℃,相对湿度为30%,分析精度优于3%。
17个样品中REY(镧系元素和钇元素)[26]与U质量分数见表1。可以看出,稀土元素质量分数为85.48×10-6~221.17×10-6,其中LREE元素质量分数为63.22×10-6~154.31×10-6;HREE+Y[27]元素质量分数为17.04×10-6~77.45×10-6w(ΣLREE)/w(ΣHREE+Y)在一定程度上可以反映轻、重稀土元素的赋存情况,可用来探究样品中的轻重稀土元素是否发生了分馏现象。研究区样品中w(ΣLREE)/w(ΣHREE+Y)为1.04~4.16,表明在该砂岩铀矿中轻重稀土元素产生了明显的分镏现象,铀矿体中相对赋存轻稀土元素。
由于在有机质热熔变化溶解形成的还原体系成矿环境中,Eu易溶于水变价成Eu2+而发生流失现象,导致Eu亏损。样品中的δ(Eu)变化值是0.46~0.69,矿区的Eu为弱亏损状态,表明所采样品在砂岩铀矿的还原带赋存,同时原岩中Eu存在亏损状态可能。
分析砂岩铀矿样品中的单个稀土元素的含量特征,发现主要赋存元素有Ce、La、Nd、Pr,其中w(Ce)最多,为32.34×10-6~69.28×10-6;w(Lu)最少,为0.21×10-6~4.1×10-6。采用澳大利亚页岩标准值(PASS)做稀土元素的配分模式图(图1)。
由于这一标准值与沉积岩的成矿环境相似,其配分图可表明砂岩型铀矿中稀土元素的赋存情况。从图1可看出,在铀成矿过程中配分模式为向右上升的曲线,产生了轻重稀土元素分馏现象,更倾向于赋存重稀土元素;轻重稀土元素配分模式曲线平滑,表明在轻稀土内部(La~Eu)与重稀土元素内部(Gd~Lu)未产生明显的分馏现象。在该配分模式下,Eu与Ce异常均不明显。
为了探究研究区砂岩铀矿中稀土元素赋存与粒径间的关系,以总稀土元素、轻稀土元素与重稀土元素为横坐标,以不同粒径当中稀土元素含量为纵坐标,进行做图(图2)。
将不同粒径的矿物样品按照>16目、16~>40目、≤40目的标准划分为粗、中3种矿石颗粒。从图2可看出,在K64样品中,不同颗粒粒径的矿石中,稀土元素更趋向于赋存在细颗粒中,且轻稀土与重稀土的赋存变化趋势一致;在K38样品中,轻稀土与总稀土含量赋存趋势一致,砂岩型铀矿的粒径越小,稀土元素越易赋存。
矿物样品的粒径不同,稀土元素的分布也不同。在细颗粒粒径中,稀土元素更易富集,而在中颗粒粒径中稀土元素含量最少。这主要是由于在铀成矿氧化流体过程中,较大颗粒岩体中的铀元素与稀土元素多包裹在矿物内部,不易因与外界发生反应而迁移;中等颗粒岩体中的铀元素与稀土元素易被水流带走,所以含量较少;小粒径岩体的吸附能力较强,导致铀元素及稀土元素更易赋存在其中。
原矿样品中的稀有元素含量见表2。可以看出,w(Se)为0.30×10-6~76.12×10-6,变化幅度达250倍;w(Sc)为1.49×10-6~14.72×10-6
从未筛分原矿样品稀有元素与地球上地壳含量蛛网图(图3)可看出,与地壳元素含量相比,Sc在不同样品中的含量比较集中,Re呈现明显富集趋势;个别样品的Se与Mo也有富集。Re、Mo、Sc在不同样品中含量差异较大,内部产生了分异作用。w(Mo)为1.15×10-6~181.93×10-6,变化幅度达158倍;w(Re)为0.01×10-6~5.44×10-6,地壳当中Re的平均含量为1×10-9[28],相比之下研究区的砂岩铀矿中Re元素非常富集。
浸出液中稀土元素的质量浓度见表3。将其与原矿样品中的稀土元素的含量进行配分比较,得到配分情况(图4)。浸出液中的稀土元素质量浓度平均达25 mg/L,可开展砂岩铀矿中的稀土元素浸出回收试验。
铀矿浸出液中浸出率最高的稀土元素是Gd,元素Eu、Tb的浸出率次之,说明砂岩型铀矿中的中稀土元素最易浸出;稀土元素La、Ce、Pr浸出率较高,说明轻稀土较易浸出;Tm、Yb、Y元素的浸出率较低,Lu的浸出率最低,说明重稀土元素最难浸出。通过对新疆伊犁盆地砂岩型铀矿的地浸铀生产液中稀土元素浸出结果的分析得知,该砂岩型铀矿中稀土元素的浸出具有一定的可行性。
通过对新疆伊犁盆地某砂岩型铀矿中的稀土元素及部分稀有元素的研究得出:
1)该砂岩型铀矿中赋存稀土元素总量为85.48×10-6~221.17×10-6,含量最多的稀土元素是Ce,含量最少的稀土元素为Lu,w(LREE)/w(HREE+Y)为1.04~4.16。在新疆伊犁盆地砂岩铀矿的铀成矿过程中,稀土元素产生了一定的富集作用。在铀成矿过程中,重稀土元素相对富集。
2)含矿层不同粒径的稀土元素配分模式与原矿相比总体趋势一致,不同矿石颗粒粒径样品中稀土元素的含量更倾向于赋存在<40目(0.425 mm)的细颗粒粒径中。研究区砂岩铀矿中部分稀有元素含量最多的是Mo。
3)现场浸出液中相对容易浸出的是中稀土元素,轻稀土元素次之,重稀土元素最难浸出。采用与地浸采铀相同的浸出条件浸出稀土元素,具有一定的可操作性;可以在此基础上进一步研究地浸砂岩型铀矿浸出过程中稀土元素的浸出情况,进而为稀土元素的获取提供新思路。
