In this paper, the production practices of sintering with total iron ore concentrate under the condition of the self-produced iron ore concentrate of Bayan Obo as the main iron-containing raw material (85%) in Baotou Steel are elaborated. The results showed that the utilization coefficient of sintering was maintained at the original level by such measures as increasing the temperature of compound, improving the granulation effect of compound as well as adjusting the longitudinal segregation of burden distribution and the angle of the stirring machine for ensuring the gas permeability of the bed of material; the burn-up index of sintering solid was increased by 6.5 kg/t, the content of FeO in the sinter was increased and the strength of sinter was decreased by 0.15 percentage points compared with that before the practices.
