The ceramic ball is with such characteristics as low density, good wear resistance and long service life so that energy consumption could be reduced by over 15%. In order to reduce energy consumption and improve regrinding efficiency of iron rough concentrate of a magnetite beneficiation plant, the characteristic tests of ore grinding with different grinding media including ceramic ball, steel ball and ceramic ball+steel ball are carried out by taking the sand setting materials of secondary grading in the beneficiation plant as the research object. The test results showed that it was completely feasible to apply ceramic ball to replace part of steel ball as the grinding medium of secondary stage fine grinding.
