In the paper, it is analyzed the damages of compensator in warm-air pipe system and their causes since the 7^# and 8^# blast furnaces of Baotou Steel were put into operation as well as proposed the design scheme of incresing the large pull rod of warm-air branch pipe. The pull rod is with four sticks of solid round steel with Φ150 mm and installed to warm－air branch pipe with sectional type in order to prolong the service life of ripple compensator in warm-air pipe system.
