In view of the problem on width deviation at head and tail end of steel strip in the 2 250 mm hot rolling production line of Baotou Steel, the methods of optimizing the distribution of heating furnace, adjusting the elevation of pinch roll in inlet of settled breadth machine and strictly controlling the surface temperature difference of heating furnace slab between the upper and lower are adopted, which avoids the problem of steel strip width deviation at head and tail end caused by slip phenomenon of slab at settled breadth machine, and by reasonable distribution of the load between settled breadth machine and vertical roll, the hit rate of steel strip width at head and tail is more effectively improved.
