Based on the field debugging of finishing mill units in 2 250 mm hot continuous rolling of Baotou Steel, the main research contents include two aspects. First, it is introduced the main speed control principle of the basic automation level and various speed control function modes, and main contents in the design of the main speed control function are expounded in detail and systematically; second, the problems of speed control and transmission system during the rolling process are analyzed and solved, and the stability of control system is improved. Finally, the strip steel can be steadily and smoothly passed through the finishing mill units to ensure the strip steel quality of the finishing mill exit.
