Aiming at the problem that drivers are prone to traffic accidents under fatigue, this paper proposes a driver fatigue awakening method based on olfactory and auditory stimuli, and studies the awakening effect of peppermint gas and alpha brainwave music as sources of stimulation. The effectiveness of fatigue awakening was evaluated using subjective fatigue questionnaires, along with ECG, PPG and RESP physiological signals as indicators. The results show that the physiological data from ECG, pulse and respiration in both schemes can effectively intervene in driver fatigue. These outcomes agree with the subjective fatigue questionnaire results, confirming the effectiveness of the driver fatigue awakening methods based on olfactory and auditory stimuli. Notably, the awakening method using auditory stimuli exhibits superior effectiveness.

针对驾驶员在疲劳状态下易引发交通事故的问题,提出一种基于嗅觉和听觉刺激的驾驶员疲劳唤醒方法,研究以薄荷气体和阿尔法脑波音乐作为刺激源的唤醒效果,采用主观疲劳问卷和心电(ECG)、脉搏(PPG)以及呼吸(RESP)生理信号作为疲劳唤醒有效性判断指标。结果表明,两种方案的心电、脉搏以及呼吸生理数据均显示能有效干预驾驶疲劳,与主观疲劳问卷调查结果相一致,验证了基于嗅觉和听觉刺激的驾驶员疲劳唤醒方法的有效性,且基于听觉刺激的唤醒方案唤醒效果更佳。

针对驾驶员在疲劳状态下易引发交通事故的问题,提出一种基于嗅觉和听觉刺激的驾驶员疲劳唤醒方法,研究以薄荷气体和阿尔法脑波音乐作为刺激源的唤醒效果,采用主观疲劳问卷和心电(ECG)、脉搏(PPG)以及呼吸(RESP)生理信号作为疲劳唤醒有效性判断指标。结果表明,两种方案的心电、脉搏以及呼吸生理数据均显示能有效干预驾驶疲劳,与主观疲劳问卷调查结果相一致,验证了基于嗅觉和听觉刺激的驾驶员疲劳唤醒方法的有效性,且基于听觉刺激的唤醒方案唤醒效果更佳。

Aiming at the problem that drivers are prone to traffic accidents under fatigue, this paper proposes a driver fatigue awakening method based on olfactory and auditory stimuli, and studies the awakening effect of peppermint gas and alpha brainwave music as sources of stimulation. The effectiveness of fatigue awakening was evaluated using subjective fatigue questionnaires, along with ECG, PPG and RESP physiological signals as indicators. The results show that the physiological data from ECG, pulse and respiration in both schemes can effectively intervene in driver fatigue. These outcomes agree with the subjective fatigue questionnaire results, confirming the effectiveness of the driver fatigue awakening methods based on olfactory and auditory stimuli. Notably, the awakening method using auditory stimuli exhibits superior effectiveness.

随着经济与社会的发展, 汽车保有量越来越高,引发的交通事故层出不穷。在全部交通事故中,疲劳驾驶导致的交通事故占 30% 以上 [ 1 ] ,当驾驶员精神不集中时其处理事故的反应速度将比正常状态慢 73% 左右 [ 2 ] ,因此,如何保证驾驶安全,避免疲劳驾驶就成了重中之重。
有效的疲劳唤醒能预防疲劳驾驶造成的危险和伤害, 目前疲劳唤醒的方法主要是通过行为、视觉、 味觉、嗅觉以及听觉等进行唤醒。GERSHOB 等 [ 3 ] 提出驾驶人在疲劳时会采取主动策略,如听收音机、开窗和交谈等常用且有效的方法。安林轩 [ 4 ] 等研究发现在驾驶过程中通过视觉和听觉获得的交通信息所占比例最多,提出一种设置醒目标识和灯光的驾驶疲劳唤醒方法。GERSHOB [ 5 ] 研究发现饮用功能性饮料有明显的抗疲劳作用,对提高驾驶绩效也有明显作用。WANG Qingjun [ 6 ] 等利用脑电信号对疲劳驾驶进行分析, 发现在有音乐的情况下, 驾驶员可以使脑电信号保持 $2\mathrm{\;h}$ 以上的活跃状态,而在无音乐存在的情况下,驾驶员的脑电信号保持 ${1.5}\mathrm{\;h}$ 左右的活跃状态。LANDSTROM [ 7 ] 为驾驶员提供了 4 种不同频率的警示声音,结果表明,声音刺激能有效提升驾驶员的警觉性, 对道路安全产生了积极的影响。TOYOSHI [ 8 ] 发现桉油醇、薄荷醇、 薄荷酮和丁香油烃是薄荷油的活性成分, 能显著增强小鼠的活力。
上述成果表明, 目前对于疲劳唤醒方法已有大量研究, 其中一些方法虽然有积极作用, 但是却会对安全行车产生负面影响, 如基于视觉的疲劳唤醒方法, 在路边设置灯光或反光的醒目标识可能会对驾驶员产生眩晕,不利于行车,又例如,开窗、交谈、饮用功能性饮料等都需要在驾驶过程中占用驾驶员的认知和行为负荷, 导致驾驶分心产生风险。 而嗅觉和听觉是通过正常生理行为对驾驶员神经进行刺激, 不会对驾驶造成负面影响, 是具有应用潜力的驾驶疲劳唤醒方法。
驾驶疲劳是指驾驶员在长时间连续行车后,产生生理机能和心理机能的失调, 而在客观上出现驾驶技能下降的现象 [ 9 ] 。通过观察驾驶员的生理信号并结合主观疲劳问卷可以反映驾驶员疲劳程度的变化情况。因此, 通过驾驶员在接受不同刺激引起的生理信号和主观疲劳评价的变化规律, 可以识别驾驶员疲劳程度。如果驾驶员处于五级及以上疲劳的状态, 就可以采取不同的刺激来唤醒疲劳, 通过生理信号的变化并结合主观疲劳问卷来分析不同刺激对唤醒疲劳的效果。选用了嗅觉和听觉两种刺激类型。嗅觉是人类最重要的感观之一, 据目前研究发现, 植物精油的气味能大大提高处理突发情况的速度。气味对缓解人体疲劳有一定作用,但不会对驾驶员正常驾驶的感知判断与反应造成影响, 是比较合适的唤醒手段 [ 10 ] 。脑波音乐是运用一种将心率 (EEG) 信号向音乐编码转换的特殊创作方式, 其原理是将心率(EEG)信号的数据特征与音乐的编码元素相对应, 是一种可以对应人体生理信息的音乐形式, 已被验证在生物生理信息应用中得到良好的反馈, 可以很好地舒缓患者焦燥情绪、缓解抑郁、消除疲劳等 [ 11 ] 。本文选取薄荷气体以及阿尔法脑波音乐作为刺激源, 采集被试者心电、脉搏、 呼吸等生理数据, 分析基于嗅觉和听觉的疲劳唤醒方法有效性, 并使用主观疲劳问卷调查结果作验证。
利用 ErgoLAB 仪器本身自带的生理数据分析软件处理数据, 得到刺激前后的时间段心率和脉搏等生理信号的各种数据, 如频率、最大值、最小值、 方差、标准差等。
令测试方案集合为 $\mathrm{C} = \left\{ {{\mathrm{c}}_{1},{\mathrm{c}}_{2},{\mathrm{c}}_{3},\cdots ,{\mathrm{c}}_{m}}\right\}$ , 被试者集合为 $B = \left\{ {{b}_{1},{b}_{2},{b}_{3},\cdots ,{b}_{n}}\right\}$ ,其中: $m$ 为测试方案数; $n$ 为被试者人数。
设刺激前后主观疲劳的数据为 ${\mathrm{B}}_{m, n}$${\mathrm{A}}_{m, n}$ ,则处理后的数据为:

式中: $Y\left( {{\mathrm{\;b}}_{i},{\mathrm{c}}_{j},\mathrm{E}}\right)$ 为被试者 ${\mathrm{b}}_{i}$ 对疲劳唤醒测试方案 ${\mathrm{c}}_{j}$ 的各项生理指标, $\mathrm{E} = \left\{ {{e}_{1},{e}_{2},\cdots ,{e}_{\mathrm{g}}}\right\}$ 为生理测试指标, 包括心率 (ECG)、脉搏 (PPG) 和呼吸 (RESP)。
所有测试方案的生理数据的综合值为:

由式 (5) 和式 (8) 可得疲劳唤醒刺激手段在各个评价维度上的评价值为:

试验环境由被试者、主试者、ErgoLAB 人机交
互平台、E-Prime 心理学试验软件、嗅觉体验测试仪 [ 12 ] 、生理信号检测模块等构成,如 图 1 所示。生理信号检测模块用于检测被试生理信号, 由于人体的复杂性, 生理信号会随着外部环境各种因素变化而变化, 具有信号微弱, 噪声强, 随机性强的特点, 本文运用生理信号仪自带的信号采集软件 ErgoLAB 来采集处理被试者的疲劳唤醒前后的生理信号。
嗅觉测试体验仪由 10 个气味源 (气味精油)、 10 个结构相同的气泵、烧瓶、液晶屏等组成, 如 图 2 所示。气味释放后经呼吸面罩进入被试者鼻孔。
气味释放的程序设计是通过心理学试验编程软件 E-Prime 软件来实现的。气味发生器释放气味需要用音频信号控制, 音频信号与气泵对应关系见 表 1 , 根据试验需要, 随机选取了气泵 4 中添加薄荷精油,用于产生薄荷气味。
试验开始时使用 E-Prime 心理学试验软件进行疲劳诱导,并使用斯坦福睡意量表 [ 13 ] 确定被试者的疲劳等级,斯坦福睡意量表内容见 表 2 ,共有 8 个分值, 分值越大, 疲劳等级越高。
本次试验共招募被试者 20 名(男、女各 10 名),平均年龄为 22 岁,年龄范围在 19~25 岁之间,且满足以下要求:所有被试者均不吸烟不喝酒;视力或矫正视力正常,无色盲和色弱现象;身体健康, 无精神疾病或相关病史; 都有中华人民共和国机动车驾驶证; 所有被试者在试验前一晚睡眠充足。将被试者分为两个小组, 每组 10 人, 一组进行疲劳驾驶嗅觉唤醒试验, 另一组进行疲劳驾驶听觉唤醒试验。试验数据采集流程如 图 3 所示。
驾驶疲劳的诱发因素较多,如长时间的驾驶、 睡眠不足以及环境因素等都是诱发驾驶疲劳的重要因素 [ 14 ] 。考虑试验的可操作性,采取模拟驾驶环境的方式进行驾驶疲劳诱导。环境温度、驾驶员受到刺激的频率和种类都会影响驾驶员的警觉性, 且当驾驶员受到的刺激很少时, 大脑的激活水平会降低,导致驾驶员在单调路况下由于缺乏刺激更容易产生疲劳 [ 15 ] 。因此,设置本次试验模拟驾驶诱导的温度为 ${18} \sim {25}^{ \circ }\mathrm{C}$ ,模拟驾驶环境相对单调,模拟驾驶的速度在 ${30} \sim {60}\mathrm{\;{km}}/\mathrm{h}$ ,车辆在最右侧车道跟车行驶,保持安全距离为 ${50} \sim {100}\mathrm{\;m}$
开始诱导试验前告诉被试者试验内容以及被试者在试验中将要完成的任务, 在被试者同意后签署知情同意书。主试者给被试者佩戴面罩和生理信号采集模块后, 主试者需将生理信号采集模块固定在不影响被试者操作的地方,同时被试者调整选取一个足够舒适且能长时间保持的姿势后告知主试者可以开始试验。一段时间后(1min)被试者进入平静状态并开始记录生理信号, 并在单一模拟驾驶环境下进行驾驶疲劳诱导,在疲劳诱导过程中,每隔 5 ~10 min由主试者按照斯坦福睡意量图的内容向被试者发问, 并根据被试者的回答填写斯坦福嗜睡量表, 直到被试者达到 5 级疲劳及以上的状态。
在确认被试者达到 5 级疲劳及以上状态时, 进行疲劳唤醒,利用 E-Prime 软件持续播放音乐 ${10}\mathrm{\;s}$ 以及利用嗅觉体验仪持续释放气味 10 s,并截取两组被试者这 10 s 受到刺激前后的生理数据段。
每一个被试者在接受刺激前后两段的生理信号都要保存截取, 然后用 ErgoLAB 的生理分析模块分析受刺激前后被试者的心电、脉搏和呼吸生理信号变化情况, 根据不同生理信号的特点, 为每个生理信号规定不同的指标, 即心率采用频率指标, 脉搏采用最大值指标, 呼吸采用标准差指标。
在 3.2 节中共采集两组被试者心电 (ECG)、脉搏 (PPG)、呼吸 (RESP) 以及主观评价数据各 20 组, 利用上文第 2 章的数据处理方法进行处理。
被试者 ${\mathrm{b}}_{1} \sim {\mathrm{b}}_{20}$ 基于嗅觉和听觉的疲劳唤醒试验主观评价数据见 表 3 , 刺激前后主观疲劳的数据为 ${\mathrm{A}}_{m, n}$${\mathrm{B}}_{m, n}$ ( $m$ 为组数),则处理后的数据为: ${\mathrm{P}}_{m, n}$ $= {\mathrm{B}}_{m, n} - {\mathrm{A}}_{m}$ ,可得出每名被试者对相应刺激的主观评价得分, 该方案主观评价综合得分为:
$ {\mathrm{P}}_{m} = \frac{{p}_{1, i} + {p}_{2, i} + \cdots + {p}_{n, i}}{n}。 $
基于嗅觉与听觉刺激的驾驶疲劳唤醒试验被试者主观疲劳等级变化值见 表 4 。第 1 组被试者在嗅觉刺激下,最多下降 3 个疲劳等级(被试者 ${\mathrm{b}}_{2}$${\mathrm{b}}_{8}$ ),该组平均下降两个疲劳等级,该唤醒方案主观评价得分为: ${\mathrm{P}}_{\mathrm{c}1} = {2.0}$ ,说明嗅觉刺激唤醒方案能有效进行疲劳唤醒。第 2 组被试者在听觉刺激下, 最多下降 3 个疲劳等级(被试者 ${b}_{11}$${b}_{14}$${b}_{16}$${b}_{17}$${\mathrm{b}}_{20}$ ),与前者相同,但其下降 3 个疲劳等级的被试者人数较多, 该组平均下降 2.4 个疲劳等级, 方案主观评价得分为: ${\mathrm{P}}_{\mathrm{c}2} = {2.4}$ ,说明听觉刺激唤醒方案也能进行有效的疲劳唤醒。疲劳等级变化数据表明, 20 名被试者在分别经历两种不同刺激后, 疲劳等级均有所下降, 两种唤醒方案均具有积极作用, 且基于听觉的唤醒方案效果更佳。
两组被试者 ${\mathrm{b}}_{1} \sim {\mathrm{b}}_{20}$ 基于嗅觉和听觉的疲劳唤醒试验生理预处理数据见 表 5 ~ 7,被试者被刺激前后的生理数据为 ${\mathrm{C}}_{m, n}$${\mathrm{D}}_{m, n}$ ,则处理后的数据为: ${\mathrm{E}}_{m, n} = {\mathrm{D}}_{m, n} - {\mathrm{C}}_{m, n}$ ,得出每个被试者相应刺激的生理数据, 每组综合得分为:

基于嗅觉与听觉刺激的驾驶疲劳唤醒试验被试者生理信号数据变化值见 表 8 。在嗅觉唤醒方案下, 被试者心电频率平均增加 7.5 次,脉搏最大值平均增加 1.01%,呼吸标准差平均增加 2.82%(该呼吸标准差原始数据为 7.55%,考虑到试验误差,对嗅觉唤醒试验中被试者 ${\mathrm{b}}_{10}$ 的呼吸生理数据采用格鲁布斯检验法 [ 16 ] 进行异常值剔除,修正后嗅觉唤醒方案呼吸数据为 2.82% )。被试者心电、脉搏和呼吸生理数据总体呈现上升趋势, 结果表明, 基于嗅觉刺激的疲劳唤醒方案有利于疲劳唤醒。而基于听觉的唤醒方案生理数据增幅较嗅觉唤醒方案更明显,在听觉唤醒方案下,被试者心电频率平均增加 7.9 次, 脉搏最大值平均增 1.15%,呼吸标准差平均增加 4.90%。由生理数据变化情况可以得出, 基于嗅觉和听觉刺激的两种唤醒方案均对疲劳唤醒有积极作用, 基于听觉的唤醒方案更佳, 与前文被试者主观问卷得出的评价结果相一致。
针对疲劳状态下驾驶人易引发交通事故的问题, 提出一种基于嗅觉和听觉的驾驶疲劳唤醒方法, 以薄荷气体以及阿尔法脑波音乐作为刺激源进行疲劳唤醒试验, 疲劳等级结果显示被试者对两种唤醒方案的唤醒效果主观评价均为积极作用 $\left( {{P}_{\mathrm{{cl}}} = }\right.$ ${2.0},{P}_{\mathrm{c}2} = {2.4})$ ,且听觉唤醒方案效果更好。被试者心电、脉搏以及呼吸生理数据显示,基于嗅觉和听觉的疲劳唤醒方法均能有效地干预驾驶疲劳,其中嗅觉唤醒方案的心电(7.5)、脉搏(1.01%)和呼吸(2.82%)生理信号数据均低于听觉唤醒试验的心电 (7.9)、脉搏 (1.15%) 和呼吸 (4.90%) 生理信号数据, 表明听觉唤醒方案效果更好, 该结果与被试者疲劳等级评价结果相一致。
综上所述, 通过被试者主观评价和生理数据结果, 对基于嗅觉和听觉刺激的驾驶员疲劳唤醒方法有效性进行了验证, 该方法能有效的干预驾驶疲劳,提高行车安全,且基于听觉的唤醒方案更佳。
