This study addresses the detection requirements of space-based distributed radar system for high-speed maneuvering space targets. Aiming at the problems of echo range migration and Doppler crossing caused by platform spatial position difference and target high-speed maneuvering characteristics, a spatio-temporal two-dimensional coherent accumulation method for space-based distributed radar is proposed. Based on the spatio-temporal phase history of target echoes, the algorithm designs a spatio-temporal joint compensation function between and within distributed radar nodes and incorporates the node spatial synthesis compensation and intra-channel target motion compensation into a unified processing framework. Firstly, an equivalent compensation function model is established under the distributed one transmitter and multi-receiver configuration, emulating a monostatic transceiver mode. Through envelope range correction and spatial phase difference compensation, the echo time-domain process of distributed nodes is completely unified, so as to achieve spatial coherent accumulation. Secondly, the time domain two-dimensional walk correction of the target echo in the node is carried out to realize the time domain pulse coherent accumulation of the high-speed maneuvering target. To enhance the computational efficiency, on the basis of generalized Radon-Fourier transform (GRFT), the target coherent accumulation problem is transformed into parameter estimation problems such as target angle, velocity, and acceleration, thereby the accumulation detection of space-based distributed radar for space targets is realized. Finally, the effectiveness of the method is evaluated by simulation experiments. The simulation results show that the method can accurately estimate the target parameters, and the coherent accumulation gain is consistent with the theoretical analysis.

本文面向天基分布式雷达对高速机动目标的探测需求,针对平台空间位置差异和目标高速机动特性导致的回波距离走动和多普勒跨越问题,提出了天基分布式雷达对空间高速机动目标的时空二维相参积累方法。本文基于回波时间-空间相位历程设计了分布式雷达节点间和节点内的时空二维联合补偿函数,将节点空间合成补偿与节点内目标运动补偿纳入统一框架。首先,建立分布式一发多收等效为单节点自发自收的等效补偿函数模型,通过包络距离矫正和空间相位差的补偿,将分布式各节点的回波时域过程完全统一,从而实现回波空间相参积累。其次,进行节点内目标回波的时域两维走动矫正,实现高速机动目标的时域脉冲相参积累。为提高计算效率,在GRFT的基础上把目标相参积累问题转换为目标角度、速度和加速度等参数估计问题,实现天基分布式雷达对空间目标的积累检测。最后,通过仿真实验对方法的有效性进行了评估,仿真结果证明该方法能够准确估计目标参数,相参积累增益与理论分析吻合。

本文面向天基分布式雷达对高速机动目标的探测需求,针对平台空间位置差异和目标高速机动特性导致的回波距离走动和多普勒跨越问题,提出了天基分布式雷达对空间高速机动目标的时空二维相参积累方法。本文基于回波时间-空间相位历程设计了分布式雷达节点间和节点内的时空二维联合补偿函数,将节点空间合成补偿与节点内目标运动补偿纳入统一框架。首先,建立分布式一发多收等效为单节点自发自收的等效补偿函数模型,通过包络距离矫正和空间相位差的补偿,将分布式各节点的回波时域过程完全统一,从而实现回波空间相参积累。其次,进行节点内目标回波的时域两维走动矫正,实现高速机动目标的时域脉冲相参积累。为提高计算效率,在GRFT的基础上把目标相参积累问题转换为目标角度、速度和加速度等参数估计问题,实现天基分布式雷达对空间目标的积累检测。最后,通过仿真实验对方法的有效性进行了评估,仿真结果证明该方法能够准确估计目标参数,相参积累增益与理论分析吻合。

This study addresses the detection requirements of space-based distributed radar system for high-speed maneuvering space targets. Aiming at the problems of echo range migration and Doppler crossing caused by platform spatial position difference and target high-speed maneuvering characteristics, a spatio-temporal two-dimensional coherent accumulation method for space-based distributed radar is proposed. Based on the spatio-temporal phase history of target echoes, the algorithm designs a spatio-temporal joint compensation function between and within distributed radar nodes and incorporates the node spatial synthesis compensation and intra-channel target motion compensation into a unified processing framework. Firstly, an equivalent compensation function model is established under the distributed one transmitter and multi-receiver configuration, emulating a monostatic transceiver mode. Through envelope range correction and spatial phase difference compensation, the echo time-domain process of distributed nodes is completely unified, so as to achieve spatial coherent accumulation. Secondly, the time domain two-dimensional walk correction of the target echo in the node is carried out to realize the time domain pulse coherent accumulation of the high-speed maneuvering target. To enhance the computational efficiency, on the basis of generalized Radon-Fourier transform (GRFT), the target coherent accumulation problem is transformed into parameter estimation problems such as target angle, velocity, and acceleration, thereby the accumulation detection of space-based distributed radar for space targets is realized. Finally, the effectiveness of the method is evaluated by simulation experiments. The simulation results show that the method can accurately estimate the target parameters, and the coherent accumulation gain is consistent with the theoretical analysis.

随着航空航天技术的高速发展,空间轨道飞行器对空间安全构成威胁,对现有的探测系统带来巨大的挑战[1]。天基雷达可实现大范围探测,在空间高速运动目标探测应用中具有巨大的优势[2]。与单基地雷达相比,天基分布式雷达可以通过时间-空间两维积累来获得更高的目标信噪比(SNR),推远雷达探测距离[3]。利用时间与空间联合相参积累可等效扩大虚拟孔径,获得更高的目标测速和测角精度,显著提升对运动目标的探测能力[4-5]。但是空间分布式雷达在探测弱小散射目标时仍面临诸多问题。空间目标通常RCS较小,雷达回波信号能量极低,需要通过时间、空间多维度相参积累提升目标信噪比,但目标参数未知条件下的积累检测面临巨大挑战[6-7]:一方面,卫星平台与目标之间存在高速相对运动导致目标回波出现“跨距离-跨多普勒”现象[8];另一方面,分布式卫星构型动态变化,且星间基线较长,导致不同分布式雷达节点间的斜距差和相位调制规律存在较大差异,增加了目标相参合成处理的难度。因此,天基分布式雷达对空间微弱目标进行探测处理时,相参积累的难点在于参数未知条件下的包络对齐和相位差补偿。
针对弱小散射目标探测难题,典型的方法是通过增加相参积累时间以获得高SNR,从而完成目标检测。空间目标与雷达存在复杂的相对运动,导致脉压后包络峰值偏移(即跨距离现象)和多普勒中心频率随脉冲变化(即跨多普勒现象)的问题,进而导致传统的MTD方法目标积累能量损失较大甚至失效。针对目标高速运动导致的距离走动问题,有学者提出KT、RFT和AR-MTD等方法[9-14],其核心思路是对回波数据沿距离维进行抽取操作来校正目标距离走动,然后通过FFT实现目标快速积累检测。但是这类方法的局限是对目标的加速度、加加速度等高阶运动补偿效果不佳。针对存在径向加速度的目标长时间积累问题,有学者提出SOKT、WVD、LVD、Radon-FrFT和GRFT等算法用于矫正距离弯曲[15-19]。特别地,对于低SNR信号,GRFT算法具有良好的性能。但该方法的局限是对于高阶运动目标需要进行高维参数空间搜索,运算复杂度较高。
针对天基分布式雷达时间-空间两维相参合成难题,有学者分析了不同雷达节点之间距离和相位偏差的影响[20]。其结果表明,分布式雷达时间和空间二维相参合成需要对节点间二维偏差进行矫正和补偿,从而减小信号包络走动和相位调制带来的相参积累损失。针对这类目标回波相参合成问题,通常采用基于目标参数估计和积累补偿的手段,消除目标距离走动和多普勒调制。常规的参数估计和补偿算法采用先时域后空域的分级补偿思路,但是,对于低SNR目标,分级补偿处理的相参损失会累积并放大。文献[6]结合多站定位原理,建立了目标在笛卡尔坐标空间的参数化运动模型,通过求解高维参数集来实现目标参数估计与相参积累。但是该方法对分布式构型,阵列基线长度等有着严格的要求,对系统设计要求更高,增加了信号处理难度,并带来性能损失。此外,上述方法在天基分布式雷达探测应用中存在相位历程模型失配,参数估计精度和相参积累效率严重恶化等问题。针对天基分布式雷达目标运动的复杂特性与低SNR条件下的时间-空间两维相参合成难题,本文提出基于扩展GRFT的联合多节点和多脉冲的时空二维积累补偿方法。
本文提出的基于扩展GRFT的天基分布式雷达运动目标时空联合相参积累方法,实现了目标空间角度、速度和加速度等参数估计与相参积累。创新之处在于设计了空间和时间二维联合补偿校正函数,将目标距离、角度、速度和加速度等参数估计纳入统一框架,实现时空二维相参积累。首先建立等效补偿函数模型将分布式一发多收等效为单节点自发自收;然后,通过包络平移和空间相位补偿,将分布式各节点的回波时域过程变统一,进而完成接收节点空间相参合成;最后,在空间合成的基础上进行节点内目标回波的时域两维走动矫正,完成高速机动目标的时域脉冲相参积累。此外,为提高计算效率,本文在GRFT的基础上扩展了对目标空间参数的搜索估计,同时进行节点间和节点内的联合补偿,实现多个节点间目标信号的相参积累,有效提升探测性能。
天基分布式雷达是由多个编队卫星通过信号级协同完成目标探测任务,图1给出了由K个节点组成的天基分布式雷达几何示意图。
假设第i个节点初始空间位置为Pi=[xiyizi]T,速度为Vi=[VxiVyiVzi]T,目标初始空间位置为Ptar=[xtytzt]T,速度为Vtar=[VxtVytVzt]T。则第i个雷达节点到目标的发射、接收斜距矢量可表示为

本文以基带波形采用LFM信号为例,假设第j个节点接收的来自第i个节点发射的信号,给出回波经过脉压后的信号模型:
式中,A表示目标信号幅度,fc表示系统的中心频率,Rti(tm)和Rrj(tm)分别为发射、接收斜距矢量Rti(tm)和Rrj(tm)的模值。由以上信号模型可见,分布式雷达接收节点之间的斜距历程差将导致各节点接收的回波信号存在包络时延和相位差。因此,补偿各节点的斜距历程差是分布式雷达相参合成的核心。对于同一发射信号,节点j1与节点j2接收到的目标回波信号斜距差表示为
借鉴多项式斜距模型,本文以第1个节点发射为例,对其接收的第i个节点的斜距历程进行泰勒展开:

根据以上几何模型与信号模型可知,制约天基分布式雷达相参合成的关键是各个分布式节点到目标的斜距历程具有时变和空变的特点。对于单节点内的数据,由于目标径向速度、加速度甚至更高阶运动参数的影响,将会导致回波包络峰值所处距离和多普勒频率随慢时间变化,即距离走动和多普勒扩散;而各节点间的回波信号的斜距差存在对分布式空间基线、目标空间角度的依赖性。总之,天基分布式雷达时间-空间两维相参合成的难点在于目标信号的“跨距离-跨多普勒”问题,是由目标运动和平台空间位置差异共同引入的,在回波信号中目标的相位历程与时域运动和空域角度耦合混叠。并且,天基分布式雷达实现相参合成的难点在于目标的角度及运动参数无法预知。因此,设计精准的回波包络和相位补偿函数是实现分布式相参合成的关键。
天基分布式雷达探测空间目标时,平台与目标之间的高速相对运动导致其斜距历程呈现出二阶甚至高阶运动过程,在雷达回波信号中表现为跨距离、跨多普勒现象。特别是空间目标通常RCS较小,雷达回波信号能量极低,需要通过时间、空间多维度相参积累提升目标信噪比。针对这类目标回波,通常采用基于目标参数估计和积累补偿的手段,消除目标距离走动和多普勒调制。常规的参数估计和补偿采用先时域后空域的分级补偿思路,但是,对于低SNR目标,分级补偿处理的相参损失会累积并放大。为此,本文提出了基于扩展GRFT的时间和空间联合估计补偿的分布式雷达相参积累方法。核心是基于回波时间-空间相位历程,设计时空二维补偿函数同时实现目标相参积累及其角度、速度和加速度等参数的估计。首先,本文将各接收节点间的空间相位差补偿转化为对空间角度参数估计,可避免对星历数据等先验依赖。然后,结合GRFT算法将目标距离、角度、速度和加速度等参数估计纳入统一框架,实现回波数据节点间和节点内二维联合补偿校正。最后,通过先空域补偿后时域包络相位矫正的方式避免高维参数搜索,降低算法运算复杂度。本文算法的流程图如图2所示。
本文所提的基于时间和空间相差联合估计补偿的分布式雷达目标相参积累方法,核心思想是以第1个节点的中心时刻为统一时间基准,将时间维度的目标运动距离历程和空间维度的阵列波程差统一用时延差来表示。通过构造参量化的时延差补偿函数,将分布式各节点的空域波程差补齐的同时实现回波时域过程统一。进而沿着距离维进行目标回波信号的抽取,并补偿二次相位,将目标时域的包络和相位对齐,即可利用FFT完成目标积累。该过程将传统的时域GRFT算法扩展为时空联合估计参数并补偿,从而得到目标的速度、加速度以及空间角度参数估计结果:

本文所提的扩展GRFT时空联合相参积累方法,关键在于设计时空二维补偿函数,使得目标信噪比最大化。时空二维补偿函数的构造方式如下:
式中,第一项为空间补偿函数,在目标空间参数搜索估计过程中将当作搜索参数,并在快时间频率-方位慢时间域构造二维补偿函数HSj如下:
式中,fr表示快时间频域变量,HRjfrtm)表示包络偏移矫正补偿函数,HDjfrtm)表示相位补偿函数。该补偿函数的作用是通过包络对齐和相位矫正,使得每个节点接收到的回波时域过程完全相同。第二项为时域补偿函数,需要通过多项式模型构造补偿函数,对目标加速度参数搜索估计实现补偿。下文详细介绍了空间相参补偿函数和时域脉冲补偿函数的具体构建方式,以及时间-空间相位差联合估计补偿的详细推导过程。
分布式节点空间相参合成需要补偿节点位置偏移引入的回波包络走动和相位偏差。本文采用分布式雷达一发多收斜距等效模型,利用每个平台与主节点接收斜距之间的差值进行包络时延操作,来自第i个节点发射第j个节点接收信号的包络偏移矫正频域补偿表达式为

每个卫星独立完成距离包络对齐后,可认为杂波在距离维已完全对齐,信号仅存在空间角度导致的相位差。其中,相位差中的线性相位将造成目标多普勒中心频率偏移,二阶项将造成多普勒频率的扩展。天基雷达对目标的探测距离较远,通常可满足远场条件,因而不同节点间的相位差仅和目标的角度有关,对信号的相位补偿可直接在频域操作:

由前面的包络和相位两步补偿可以看出,进行节点间距离和相位补偿关键是如何准确计算节点间的斜距历程差。针对不同接收节点,本文采用直线轨迹近似的方式计算斜距历程差。首先将分布式卫星平台近似为直线轨迹,计算每个节点到目标的近似斜距,之后计算真实轨迹与目标之间斜距和近似斜距的差值ΔRi,最后得到每个节点的真实斜距Rri
图3所示,在跟飞构型下,将第1个节点卫星设为主节点,并将其初始斜距设为R0,则节点i的近似斜距历程表示为

天基分布式雷达探测空间目标时,平台与目标之间的高速相对运动导致其斜距历程呈现出二阶甚至高阶运动过程,在雷达回波信号中表现为跨距离、跨多普勒现象。时域过程的补偿思路是将目标斜距历程建模为多项式模型,然后通过逐级参数搜索的方式补偿距离走动和多普勒调制。本文以空间轨道目标为例,在机动性较小的情况下将斜距历程近似到二阶,与之对应的时延模型可表示为

本文提出了基于扩展GRFT的时间和空间联合估计补偿的分布式雷达相参积累方法。将时间维度的目标运动距离历程和多节点空间维度的波程差,统一归到回波信号的包络时延和相位中,通过包络校正和相位补偿实现目标相参积累。本文所提算法的详细步骤流程如下:

1)系统核心参数,包括卫星轨道高度、基线长度、波束中心斜视角等;
2)多节点-多脉冲原始回波数据;
3)加速度参数搜索精度。
步骤1:数据预处理,对各节点数据进行通道带内误差均衡与平台运动补偿;
步骤2:基于空间斜距差补偿包络偏移和相位差,完成空间相参合成;
1)利用公式(16)通过空间基线与目标角度构造回波空间合成补偿函数;
2)利用空间补偿函数对回波进行包络对齐和相位补偿;
3)利用公式(9)将补偿校正后的多节点数据进行空间合成;
步骤3:利用公式(20)构造时域相位补偿函数,对空间相参合成后的回波进行时域相位补偿和脉冲积累;
步骤4:搜索目标加速度参数,在目标积累信噪比最大化准则下获得最终的目标参数估计结果。
输出:多节点空时二维联合相参积累检测结果与参数估计值。
本文结合天基分布式雷达动目标探测的斜距随时间/空间的动态特性,将目标时间-空间二维相参积累问题整体考虑,提出了实现目标角度、速度和加速度等参数估计与相参积累的统一框架。前文介绍了时间和空间联合估计补偿的分布式雷达相参积累方法的基本原理与实现步骤,本节通过仿真实验证明所提方法的有效性。考虑采用由3个节点构成的分布式雷达系统,具体系统参数如表1所示,动目标运动参数如表2所示。
下面通过本文所提方法进行目标参数估计与目标相参积累处理,用于分析所提算法性能。图4(a)是单节点补偿前的目标距离-多普勒图,可看出对于快速运动且存在机动的空间目标,不对目标进行包络走动和二次相位补偿无法完成脉冲积累;图4(b)是单节点补偿后的目标距离-多普勒图;图4(c)是多节点时空二维相参合成后的积累结果,目标完成相参积累后在距离-多普勒域形成峰值。对比图4(a)~(c)可以看出,采用本文方法处理后目标信噪比获得极大程度改善,证明本方法可实现分布式雷达运动目标时空二维相参合成。目标速度参数估计结果如图5所示,目标速度参数搜索过程会在径向速度-加速度二维参数空间形成尖峰状响应,峰值位置对应为目标参数的估计值。图6(a)是不含噪声条件下的目标回波包络走动仿真结果,可看出目标存在很明显的跨距离走动现象;图6(b)是多节点时空二维相参合成后的多目标积累检测结果,与之相应的目标参数估计结果如表3所示,可以看出,本文方法能够准确地估计目标参数。
对于多个不同距离、速度、角度的目标,采用基于GRFT的时空联合相参积累方法可以准确估计目标的参数,包括初始斜距、速度、加速度和空间锥角。经过时间-空间二维联合矫正补偿,得到二维积累后的目标能量峰值,实现微弱目标信号相参积累。该方法在实现目标相参积累的同时,也可准确估计目标的距离、速度、角度参数,便于后续目标跟踪等处理,从而提升分布式雷达对微弱目标的探测能力。
对于空间分布式雷达目标时空两维相参积累来说,处理算法的运算资源主要消耗在包络走动补偿和多普勒相位补偿过程,特别是针对高速机动目标需要完成高阶参数搜索。下面以GRFT算法的频域实现为例,分析其运算复杂度。不失一般性,假设雷达快时间采样点数为Nr,慢时间脉冲采样点数为Na,空间角度参数搜索次数Ns,目标运动一次项搜索次数N1,二次项搜索点数为N2,三次项搜索点数为N3,主要步骤的运算量如下:
1)回波数据时域到频域的变换操作,单节点需要完成NaNr点FFT运算,其中包括2NaNrlog2Nr乘法运算与3NaNrlog2Nr次加法运算,则K个节点运算量为2KNaNrlog2Nr次乘法与3KNaNrlog2Nr
2)回波数据距离包络矫正操作,需要进行4KNsN1N2N3·NrNa次乘法运算与2KNsN1N2N3·NrNa次加法运算。
3)回波数据频域到时域的逆变换操作,K个节点运算量为2KNaNrlog2Nr次乘法与3KNaNrlog2Nr
4)对数据多普勒相位补偿操作,需要进行4N2N3·NrNa次乘法运算以及2N2N3·NrNa次加法运算。
5)数据变换到距离-多普勒域,需要进行2NrNalog2Nr次乘法运算与3NrNalog2Nr次加法运算。
综上,本文所提算法的总运算复杂度为
由以上分析可知,本文所提方法的运算资源消耗集中在参数搜索过程,工程应用中可采用先空域搜索再时域搜索的方式,降低运算量。
本文提出了一种时间-空间二维联合矫正补偿的目标相参积累方法,实现目标角度、速度和加速度等参数估计与相参积累,可用于天基分布式雷达高速机动目标积累检测。该方法结合天基分布式雷达动目标探测的斜距随时间/空间的动态特性,将目标时间-空间二维相参积累问题整体考虑,设计出了包络校正和相位补偿的时空二维补偿函数。首先,构造与目标角度参数有关的补偿函数实现各节点回波包络对齐,并通过相位补偿实现各节点空间相参合成。然后,利用扩展GRFT算法对合成后的回波进行距离走动和多普勒扩展补偿。最终,在最大化目标信噪比条件下实现目标时空二维相参合成,同时完成目标空间角和运动参数估计。仿真实验证明了所提方法的有效性,所提方法能够准确估计动目标参数并实现目标相参积累信噪比得益最大化,可提升天基分布式雷达高速机动目标检测性能。此外,本文方法的运算效率还可以进一步提高,未来的工作将进一步研究降低算法计算复杂度的快速实现算法。
