As the modern electromagnetic environment becomes more complex, the demand for spatial multi-beamforming is growing. The digital array radar (DAR) exhibits advantages such as flexible waveform design and controllable multi-beam generation. However, in the complex battlefield environments, how to achieve deep null suppression against strong interferences, or implement null suppression in a certain width of the angle range while maintaining transmitting power is a challenging problem. In this paper, based on the digital array radar, the research work of its diverse multi-beamforming method is carried out. By constraining the weighted amplitude, the fluctuation characteristics of the weighted amplitude on each antenna are reduced, and higher transmission efficiency is obtained while maintaining performance.

随着现代电磁环境越来越复杂,对空域多波束形成的要求越来越高,而数字阵列雷达有着波形灵活设计、多波束形成便捷可控等优点。但在复杂的战场环境下数字阵列天线如何在强干扰环境下实现深零陷抑制,或者在一定宽度的角度范围实现零陷抑制的同时,保持阵列天线的发射功率是一个值得研究的问题。本文基于数字阵列雷达开展其多样多波束形成方法的研究工作,通过对加权幅度进行约束,减轻了各个天线上的加权幅度的起伏特性,在保持性能的同时获得了更高的发射效率。

随着现代电磁环境越来越复杂,对空域多波束形成的要求越来越高,而数字阵列雷达有着波形灵活设计、多波束形成便捷可控等优点。但在复杂的战场环境下数字阵列天线如何在强干扰环境下实现深零陷抑制,或者在一定宽度的角度范围实现零陷抑制的同时,保持阵列天线的发射功率是一个值得研究的问题。本文基于数字阵列雷达开展其多样多波束形成方法的研究工作,通过对加权幅度进行约束,减轻了各个天线上的加权幅度的起伏特性,在保持性能的同时获得了更高的发射效率。

As the modern electromagnetic environment becomes more complex, the demand for spatial multi-beamforming is growing. The digital array radar (DAR) exhibits advantages such as flexible waveform design and controllable multi-beam generation. However, in the complex battlefield environments, how to achieve deep null suppression against strong interferences, or implement null suppression in a certain width of the angle range while maintaining transmitting power is a challenging problem. In this paper, based on the digital array radar, the research work of its diverse multi-beamforming method is carried out. By constraining the weighted amplitude, the fluctuation characteristics of the weighted amplitude on each antenna are reduced, and higher transmission efficiency is obtained while maintaining performance.

现代电磁环境越来越复杂,波束赋形技术[1-6]是阵列天线需要具备的功能。阵列雷达的信号处理需要实现多路目标与信号的同时处理、检测与跟踪,对不同距离的目标存在能量分配不合理的问题。同时,传统的抗干扰技术所产生的自适应零陷,其凹口一般较窄。由于传播环境的非平稳性、天线平台的转动以及干扰的非平稳性等原因,干扰源回波信号往往也具有非平稳性。当干扰信号非平稳性过强,则计算权矢量的快拍与含有期望信号的快拍之间也会产生权矢量失配问题,即在自适应方向图中,干扰容易移出零陷位置,从而造成空域自适应处理性能的下降。为此需要进一步研究稳健的干扰自适应抑制方法。
目前有效的波束综合优化方法主要有自适应波束形成方法[7-9]、凸优化算法[10]和非线性优化方法[11-15]等。其中,自适应波束形成方法理论简单,实现容易,但在非理想情况下性能变差。凸优化通过将波束生成问题转换为凸优化问题进行求解,其计算复杂度较高,但性能较好,适合于多波束应用背景。非线性优化方法包括遗传算法[11-12]、粒子群优化算法[13-14]、序列二次规划算法[15]等,但该类算法存在一些局限性,往往无法达到最优解。
针对传统的波束赋形优化方法并未对加权幅度进行约束,导致发射功率效率急剧下降的问题,本文提出的算法对整体功率以及单个天线加权幅度进行约束,并使用CVX凸优化算法实现多波束赋形,可以得到强干扰深零陷、大宽度零陷以及多个次波束等优化发射波束。所提的算法可以在复杂场景下,比如多干扰、危险区域低副瓣以及同时多个不同增益的波束情况下,具有良好的性能。
假设数字阵列雷达的阵元是均匀线性分布排列的,当阵列输入为平面波时,阵列的空间滤波响应,也就是阵列方向图定义为阵列输出(通常只考虑阵列输出幅度或功率)与平面入射角的关系。对于均匀线阵,其空间响应(即波束)完全取决于权矢量:

最小二乘准则是针对优化问题提出的技术,又称之为最小平方法。它通过最小化误差平方和的方法来寻求最佳的函数匹配。考虑一个多自变量的函数,建立如下函数模型:
通过给予自变量x1x2,…,xn适当的参数,使得上述的函数模型能与期望值y-相匹配。参数按如下准则选取:使得y之差的平方和最小,即
对于本文提出的问题,设目标方向图为Fd(θ)。根据最小二乘误差准则,建立如下方向图综合优化模型:
式中,ξ为预先设定的最大旁瓣电平,ε为零陷方向的最大电平,θs∈ Θsides=1,2,…,S)、θm∈ Θmainm=1,2,…,M)和θe∈ Θnulle=1,2,…,E)分别表示旁瓣区Θside、主瓣区Θmain和零陷区Θnull的有限采样近似,Fd(θm)为主瓣区方向(包括雷达目标方向和通信方向)的期望方向图,其为正实数。
为了设计具有高辐射效率的阵列,可以考虑在方向图设计算法的最优化过程中增加功率约束,即
式中,δ为加权系数的约束值,用以控制权矢量的稳健性和阵列增益损失。
采用CVX求解该问题,代价函数和约束条件可表示为
在上述优化算法中,并没有对加权幅度进行约束,然而在各个发射天线上的加权幅度波动过大是我们不希望看到的,因为这增加了发射机的要求,并且限制了其功放的效率。为了约束加权幅度,我们首先对各个发射天线组成的加权矢量做范数约束,亦即是各个加权幅度的总和是固定的,然后在目标函数中优化各个阵元加权幅度,使其对均值回归,从而减轻各个天线上的加权幅度的起伏特性。根据这一思路,我们得到如下的优化问题模型:
式中,σ为一个常数因子,是主瓣波束逼近期望波束的度量。根据上述改进优化技术,即可提升阵列天线发射效率。
为了定量分析加权幅度的起伏情况,我们把加权幅度的均值回归程度定义为
式中,mean表示取均值。MR的值越小,表示起伏越小,当MR=1时,表示所有的加权幅度都相同,亦即是只做移相优化。在下面的仿真分析中,我们用MR0表示原算法的起伏度量,而用MR1表示改进算法的起伏度量。
仿真参数设置为:线阵阵元数为32,雷达主瓣方向为0°,主瓣的期望幅度归一化为1,旁瓣电平为-20dB,δ=0.5,阵元间距为半波长。下面的仿真中若无特殊说明均采用上述所设参数。在改进算法的参数设置中σ=10-4δ=1。
在此试验中,设宽零陷的角度范围为(30°~ 50°),要求零陷深度为-50dB,根据上述优化问题求解,得到的结果如图1图2所示。从图1可以看出,我们在雷达目标方向形成了主瓣波束,并且对指定的空间角度范围形成了具有一定宽度的零陷。所得发射波束的旁瓣电平和零陷深度均符合期望。此类波束在空间中一定宽度的角度区域对其进行零陷,这是为了应对敌方密集角度干扰或者危险区域的低截获。对比图2可以发现,在相同的零陷深度约束下,原算法的宽零陷要比改进算法的深10dB,这是因为不做约束的加权幅度往往能获得比预设要好的效果,但是从图2可以看出,对加权幅度约束后仍然能获得期望的零陷深度。此时有MR0=1.36,MR1=1.28,这说明改进算法的加权幅度的起伏波动较小,有利于提高发射机的功放效率。
在此试验中,设有3个强干扰的方向分别为-60°,-30°和40°,其零陷深度均低于-80dB。根据上述优化问题求解,得到的结果如图3图4所示。
图3图4可以看出,所得发射波束在多个强干扰方向形成了低于-80dB的深度零陷,这是为了应对敌方的强有源干扰情况,深零陷可以在空域抑制其对雷达的干扰。此时可以计算出MR0=1.35,MR1=1.30,加权幅度的起伏波动比较接近,这说明形成深零陷时所需的加权自由度较大,可优化的空间变小。
在此试验中,设有一个强干扰的方向为-50°,零陷深度为-80dB,宽零陷的角度范围为(30°~ 50°),零陷深度为-50dB。根据上述优化问题求解,得到结果如图5图6所示。
图5图6可以看出,所得波束同时形成了深度零陷和宽零陷,这可以对应上述两种敌方干扰的综合。此时可以计算出,MR0=1.35,MR1=1.29。
在此试验中,除主瓣外,有3个次波束分别在-40°,30°和60°,其幅度分别为-20dB,-40dB和-60dB。根据上述优化问题求解,得到的结果如图7图8所示。
图7图8可以看出,所得波束在指定的角度区域形成了不同幅度需求的次波束,用于对不同距离的目标方向进行辐射,同时不占用雷达主瓣过多的发射功率,从而降低了对雷达威力范围的影响。虽然改进算法由于权值约束的关系所形成的次波束形状较差一些,但也能满足要求。此时,MR0=2.27,MR1=1.32,这说明了原算法的加权幅度起伏波动性较大,会严重影响发射机的功放效率;而改进算法的加权幅度起伏波动较小,阵列发射效率更高。
综上所述,改进算法与原算法的比较如表1所示,可以看出,在各种情况下,本算法发射的功率效率更有优势。
对比分析了原算法和改进算法的MR值之后,可以发现,改进算法的MR值在不同发射波束形成需求的情况下均稳定在1.30左右,而原算法在形成零陷的情况下其MR值较小,与改进算法的MR值接近,但是在形成深度的次波束的情况下,MR值几乎增大了一倍。本文算法对阵元幅相误差要求较高,所以首先要对阵元幅相误差进行校正。因此针对实际应用的需求,采用改进算法优化发射波束的加权幅度。本文对各种复杂要求的发射波束设计进行了研究分析,在采用CVX凸优化方法的发射波束形成中,可以获得强干扰深零陷,较大宽度零陷以及多个次波束等的发射波束,通过仿真试验可以说明,数字阵列在发射波束设计上的灵活性,以及应对各种不同波束形状需求的鲁棒性,能够很好地胜任复杂战场环境的目标探测、空域覆盖、空域滤波等需求。
