To unify the classification and naming of rocks is conducive to the academic exchange and guidance of resource development. The national standard for the classification and nomenclature of phosphatic rocks adopts the textural-genetic classification as the primary criterion. Consequently, any advancements of researches on the genesis of phosphatic rocks will directly influence the classification and nomenclature scheme of phosphatic rocks. Based on the microscopic observations of typical phosphatic rocks in Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Hunan, and Hubei provinces, combined with comprehensive analysis of previous research achievements, this paper proposes a new textural-genetic classification scheme for phosphatic rocks by referencing the research methodology of carbonate microfacies. (1) The new textural-genetic classification pointed out that phosphatic rocks can be categorized into the allochthonous, autochthonous, recrystallized, mud-cracked, and silicified ones for reflecting their dynamic formation history. (2) A type of medium-grained clastic phosphatic rock is refined and supplemented, with clasts including intraclasts, bioclasts, coated grains, peloids, and lumps. Especially, the bioclast was regarded as granular component and was emphasized to have participated into the formation of phosphatic rock as its critical component. (3) The type of autochthonous phosphatic rock has been sub-classified to sub-types such as the stromatolitic, laminar, and clotted phosphatic rocks for reflecting different morphologies of algae, and a sub-type of continental sedimentary phosphite. 以These revised contents of the above proposed textural-genetic classification serve as foundational material for establishing a new edition of the national standard for the classification and nomenclature of phosphatic rocks.

统一岩石分类命名有利于学术交流及指导资源开发。磷质岩分类命名国家标准将结构成因分类作为磷质岩分类命名的主要指标。因此,磷质岩成因研究的进展都将对磷质岩分类命名方案产生直接影响。本文基于对黔、滇、川、湘、鄂五省典型磷质岩显微观察积累及综合前人研究成果,参照碳酸盐岩微相研究思路,提出新的磷质岩结构成因分类建议:1)将磷质岩分为异地磷质岩、原地磷质岩、重结晶磷质岩、泥裂磷质岩及硅化磷质岩等,以反映磷质岩的动态形成历史;2)细化并补充了磷质岩中粒屑类型,并将粒屑类型具体划分为内碎屑、生物碎屑、包粒、团粒及团块,补充了生物碎屑作为粒屑成分,强调生物碎屑作为磷质岩中的重要组成部分参与磷质岩的形成;3)在原地磷质岩中,增加叠层石磷质岩、层纹石磷质岩、凝块石磷质岩类型,以反映藻在磷质岩中的不同形态,并增加了陆相沉积型磷华的磷质岩类型。以上增改内容为构建新版国家标准提供了新素材。

统一岩石分类命名有利于学术交流及指导资源开发。磷质岩分类命名国家标准将结构成因分类作为磷质岩分类命名的主要指标。因此,磷质岩成因研究的进展都将对磷质岩分类命名方案产生直接影响。本文基于对黔、滇、川、湘、鄂五省典型磷质岩显微观察积累及综合前人研究成果,参照碳酸盐岩微相研究思路,提出新的磷质岩结构成因分类建议:1)将磷质岩分为异地磷质岩、原地磷质岩、重结晶磷质岩、泥裂磷质岩及硅化磷质岩等,以反映磷质岩的动态形成历史;2)细化并补充了磷质岩中粒屑类型,并将粒屑类型具体划分为内碎屑、生物碎屑、包粒、团粒及团块,补充了生物碎屑作为粒屑成分,强调生物碎屑作为磷质岩中的重要组成部分参与磷质岩的形成;3)在原地磷质岩中,增加叠层石磷质岩、层纹石磷质岩、凝块石磷质岩类型,以反映藻在磷质岩中的不同形态,并增加了陆相沉积型磷华的磷质岩类型。以上增改内容为构建新版国家标准提供了新素材。

To unify the classification and naming of rocks is conducive to the academic exchange and guidance of resource development. The national standard for the classification and nomenclature of phosphatic rocks adopts the textural-genetic classification as the primary criterion. Consequently, any advancements of researches on the genesis of phosphatic rocks will directly influence the classification and nomenclature scheme of phosphatic rocks. Based on the microscopic observations of typical phosphatic rocks in Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Hunan, and Hubei provinces, combined with comprehensive analysis of previous research achievements, this paper proposes a new textural-genetic classification scheme for phosphatic rocks by referencing the research methodology of carbonate microfacies. (1) The new textural-genetic classification pointed out that phosphatic rocks can be categorized into the allochthonous, autochthonous, recrystallized, mud-cracked, and silicified ones for reflecting their dynamic formation history. (2) A type of medium-grained clastic phosphatic rock is refined and supplemented, with clasts including intraclasts, bioclasts, coated grains, peloids, and lumps. Especially, the bioclast was regarded as granular component and was emphasized to have participated into the formation of phosphatic rock as its critical component. (3) The type of autochthonous phosphatic rock has been sub-classified to sub-types such as the stromatolitic, laminar, and clotted phosphatic rocks for reflecting different morphologies of algae, and a sub-type of continental sedimentary phosphite. 以These revised contents of the above proposed textural-genetic classification serve as foundational material for establishing a new edition of the national standard for the classification and nomenclature of phosphatic rocks.

统一岩石分类命名是开展顺畅学术交流的基础,它通过系统化、标准化的方式,将岩石可观测的特征(矿物、结构)与其不可直接观测的内在属性(成因、形成历史等)建立可靠联系,是地质工作者们理解地球物质组成、解读地球历史不可或缺的基础资料及共同语言。统一与成矿相关的岩石,如磷质岩分类命名则还有利于学术界与工业界的沟通与交流。这是制定《中华人民共和国国家标准——岩石分类和命名方案 沉积岩岩石的分类和命名方案》[1](下文简称“GB/T 17412.2—1998”)的初衷。该国家标准的颁布与实施极大地促进了沉积岩研究、沉积型矿床勘探与开发。其中的磷质岩及磷矿体现明显。
由于沉积环境多样,形成了一系列难以分类的磷酸盐岩[2]。因此,人们根据露头描述、岩相学、化学成分或多种因素的结合,提出了几种分类方法。如早期的磷酸盐岩划分方案基于同沉积黑硅灰岩的类型和丰度、化石碎片、再加工组分和蚀变颗粒[3,4]。其他方案侧重于微相[5]、磷酸盐和非磷酸盐组分的粒度以及硬化程度[6]。目前最实用的分类方案应包含两大类[7],以适用于所有时代的富磷酸盐碳酸盐和硅质碎屑沉积物,包括原始磷酸盐岩(原地沉积,反映了沉积物中磷酸盐成因的位点)与再造磷酸盐岩(异地高能沉积物,由磷酸盐颗粒和显生宙的化石碎片组成)。
理想的岩石分类命名方案应客观描述岩石属性且尽量避免解释性的成因模型,如岩石的地球化学分类、CIPW矿物分类以及《英国地质调查局岩石分类方案》(后简称“BGS”方案)[8]。其中,GB/T 17412.2—1998对磷质岩的分类及命名便借鉴了“BGS”方案第三卷沉积物与沉积岩的分类[8]方案,它遵循了“BGS”方案[8]中以岩石主要成分特征(粒屑及其支撑类型)的分类原则。然而,大部分岩石的分类命名难以完全避免解释性的成因模型的影响(如A-、I-、S-型花岗岩分类命名方案)。因此,GB/T 17412.2—1998在“BGS”方案[8]中对磷质岩分类的基础上,增加了不同成分特征所代表的成因类型(表1),以期反映磷质岩的内在属性(如成岩历史),以便指导国内当时对磷质岩的认识以及对它的勘探与开发。
目前认为,绝大部分磷质岩为沉积成因,包括海相沉积型磷质岩和陆相沉积型磷质岩。沉积型磷质岩磷含量达到工业品位(w(P2O5)≥15%),即为沉积型磷块岩。其中,海相沉积型磷质岩是最主要的磷矿资源,绝大部分磷质岩成因研究工作针对海相磷质岩展开,并形成了一系列成因学说:化学或生物化学沉积成因、机械沉积成因、生物成因、交代成因等[9-16],其中生物成因是最早提出的成因学说。现行国标中磷质岩的分类命名标准充分体现了这些研究进展(表1)。基于此,磷质岩成因研究取得任何进展都将对国标中磷质岩的分类命名方案产生直接影响。
自GB/T 17412.2—1998[1]颁布施行以来,对磷质岩的结构类型、成因研究均取得了诸多进展,部分研究内容为现行的磷质岩分类命名方案的修订提供了新的视角。本文基于对黔、滇、川、湘、鄂五省典型磷质岩的显微观察积累,参照碳酸盐岩微相研究思路[17-19],提出磷质岩成因分类建议,为构建新版国家标准提供素材。
我国磷矿资源比较丰富。据国家统计局发布,截至2023年,已探明磷矿储量为34.41亿t,其中云、贵、川、鄂四省已探明磷矿储量总和在国内占比为90%以上[20]。沉积型海相磷质岩是我国最主要的磷矿资源;其中,产于晚震旦世、早寒武世海相地层中的磷质岩,占中国磷质岩的78%以上[21-23]。云南产磷矿层主要为昆明下寒武统梅树村阶中谊村组[23,24];贵州产磷矿层主要为福泉、瓮安、开阳、息烽下震旦统洋水组、遵义下震旦统陡山沱组及福泉上震旦统-下寒武统灯影组[21-23,25]、织金下寒武统戈仲伍组;四川产磷矿层主要为马边下寒武统麦地坪组、什邡上泥盆统沙窝子组[21-23];湖北产磷矿层主要为宜昌、保康、宜城下震旦统陡山沱组及邓家崖上震旦统-下寒武统灯影组[21-23]。对于上述地区,学者针对沉积型海相磷质岩的粒屑类型、胶结物类型、结构构造、后生成岩变化及其沉积环境进行了深入的研究与分析,提出了磷质岩的形式是以上升流机制为主导(典型产物为磷质结核、团块、粒屑等)、生物积极参与(典型产物为生物屑磷质岩、生物骨骼磷质岩、藻黏结磷质岩)及交代作用后期叠加改造(典型产物为磷质鲕粒、磷化内碎屑及磷化化石)的综合结果[26-39]。以上研究极大地丰富了沉积型海相磷质岩的成因类型的认识,为推动国内磷质岩类研究发展奠定了坚实的基础。虽然陆相沉积型磷质岩因其在磷矿资源中的占比量少,但也有学者在其各自的研究区先后提出了风化淋滤化学再沉积成因理论[40-42]
扬子地台的磷质岩与碳酸盐岩同属内源沉积岩类,且密切共生。两者的结构构造极为相似,是其相似成因和沉积环境的反映。因而,我们可以参照碳酸盐岩研究手段,通过精细划分沉积岩相、微相以及古地理环境,为成因研究提供重要信息。借鉴碳酸盐岩微相概念,磷质岩微相研究的目的在于通过详细的磷质岩沉积特征和古生物学特征的研究,识别能够反映磷质岩从沉积-成岩-后生变化历史的整体样式。通过磷质岩结构成因类型及其对应的微相分析,在沉积相解释的框架中进行微相评价,进而归入某一种微相类型(SMF)。
由各种成因、形态、粒级的粒屑(颗粒),与不同成分、不同结构的填隙物,以多种形式组合而成,是浪基面以上的波浪作用带的主要矿石结构,滨外沉积相带罕见或无。
粒屑(颗粒)类型包含内碎屑、生物碎屑、包粒、团粒、团块五类。
按其粒度大小划分为砾屑(≥2 mm)、砂屑(0.06~<2 mm,图1a)、粉屑(0.004~<0.06 mm)、泥屑(<0.004 mm,与化学沉积或生物化学沉积的磷酸盐泥晶通常不能区分,故将其划为泥晶基质)四级。按其成因划分为以下两类。
1)水流作用形成的内碎屑
又称盆屑。是在沉积盆地内部已经沉积的、固结-半固结-未固结的、具不同内部结构的磷酸盐沉积物由波浪、岸流、潮汐等水流作用剥蚀出来,经机械破碎、冲刷、磨蚀、搬运、分选和再沉积而成具有较好的结构成熟度(图1a)。
2)震积作用形成的内碎屑
本文称之为震屑,在磷质岩中少见。震积液化作用形成的内碎屑往往保留了原始凝胶磷质层的产状,常被波浪或水流作用形成的内碎屑所分隔,具有较差的结构成熟度(图1b)。以“震积内碎屑”名称与水流作用形成的“内碎屑”名称以示区别。
磷酸盐化的生物碎屑种类虽远不及碳酸盐化的生物碎屑丰富,但最早的动物生命——瓮安小春虫等却与磷质岩紧密相关,具有重要意义,为在GB/T 17412.2—1998[1]的基础上补充生物碎屑作为粒屑成分参与磷质岩分类及命名奠定了客观基础,上震旦统磷质岩中可见具细胞组织结构和组织分化的多细胞藻类原叶体、多细胞藻类集合体、丝状藻类、球状藻类、疑源类等化石,还有后生动物休眠卵和胚胎化石(图1c)以及早期后生动物的遗体或遗迹等化石,即以瓮安生物群为代表的化石组合;而下寒武统磷质岩中常见小壳化石(图1d)、软舌螺化石、其他不明种属化石(图1e);其他地层可见牙形石微体化石、骨骼化石(图1f, g)。
生物化石的磷酸盐化驱动因素可能为[43-47]:1)与磷酸盐的化学特性有关:磷酸钙在碱性(pH>7.5)或低溶解度环境中易沉淀,当孔隙水中磷酸盐浓度超过饱和阈值时,矿物会自发结晶,同时生物体内的磷脂、核酸等含磷分子可作为成核位点,促进磷酸盐优先沉淀于有机结构表面;2)当快速埋藏发生时可阻隔氧气,抑制分解菌活动,同时硫酸盐还原菌可能通过代谢升高局部pH,促进磷酸盐沉淀;3)在早期成岩作用阶段,沉积物未固结时,孔隙水中的磷酸盐离子通过扩散渗透至生物组织,实现矿物替代。
生物化石磷酸盐化可发生在:1)出现在含有该种化石的沉积物的沉积作用之前;2)与沉积作用同时发生,即同生磷酸盐化;3)刚刚发生在沉积作用之后,即早期或成岩磷酸盐化;4)后期矿化阶段即后生磷酸盐化。
上述组构差异为探索磷质岩成因,恢复当时沉积环境和沉积条件提供重要线索。磷质岩中生物碎屑显微结构单一,远远不及碳酸盐岩中生物碎屑内部结构丰富,仅见凝胶结构。
赋存于磷质岩中的真核生物种类细化,不仅为地球生命的演化,还为磷质岩的微相、沉积相、沉积环境以及沉积时代、沉积矿产的形成与分布规律的解析提供基础地质资料。如胚胎屑磷质岩(晚震旦世洋水时期特有)、介屑磷质岩(早寒武世梅树村时期特有)、骨骼磷质岩(图1f, g为脊椎动物特有)。
其形态上为一种圆状、椭圆状或其他形状的包壳颗粒(形态受控于内核)。由内核和同心状外壳共同构成。按其粒度大小划分为豆粒(≥2 mm)、鲕粒(大多在0.06~<2 mm之间)。
磷质岩中包粒类型常见为鲕粒。鲕核可见生物屑(图1h)、团粒等;圈层为胶磷矿(图1h),可见白云石化、重结晶等。
海相中主要由包粒组成的磷质岩,根据其粒度,称之为“鲕粒磷质岩”“豆粒磷质岩”(前者更为常见);若其为陆相磷质岩则称之为“渗流鲕粒磷华”或“渗流豆粒磷华”。
为高度圆化的磷酸盐颗粒,呈球形、卵形、椭圆形,无核心、无同心层,不具任何内部结构,粒度一般在0.1~1.0 mm。团粒内有时可见藻类及真菌等微生物,它是在低能微扰动条件下,胶体质点遵循内能最小原则之球形凝聚粒(图1h),包含粪团(球)粒。
具有不规则状外形、不具内部结构构造,粒度不一,成因为凝聚作用,可伴有鲕粒或团粒(图1i)。
粒屑磷质岩的基质(粒度​<0.004 mm)组分包含磷质(图2a)、白云质(图2b)、硅质(图2c)、黏土质(泥质)(图2d)、绿泥石(图2e)及胶磷矿(图2f)。
粒屑磷质岩的淀晶(亮晶)胶结物,是成岩孔隙溶液沉淀出的晶质胶结物,其成分除与粒屑同质之外尚有白云质、硅质等。磷质淀晶胶结物由洁净透明的层纤状磷灰石组成( 图1a、2a);由于渗流作用,磷质孔隙溶液沿粒间孔隙环绕粒屑边缘成环边胶结。
粒屑磷质岩填隙物质的多样性,是与粒屑结构碳酸盐岩的主要区别之一。因此,其组构特征不仅是其生成环境的能量指数,也是其生成环境的地球化学标志。
磷质岩根据粒屑与填隙物之间的支撑关系,分为基底式(图1i)、孔隙式(图2b)、接触式(图1a)、镶嵌式胶结等。
除了成分和结构,粒屑/基质比率也是磷质岩分类的重要参数之一。经过量化,使各类磷质岩的概念更确切。以砂级内碎屑且基质主要为泥晶时为例:1)当粒/基比率≥1时,①粒屑含量≥90%,采用“砂屑磷质岩”分类;②粒屑含量为50%~<90%时,采用“泥晶砂屑磷质岩”分类。2)当粒/基比率<1时,①粒屑含量为25%~<50%,采用“砂屑泥晶磷质岩”分类;②粒屑含量为10%~<25%,采用“含砂屑泥晶磷质岩”分类;③粒屑含量为<10%,采用“泥晶磷质岩”分类。其他类型粒屑同理。
凝胶结构由光性非晶质磷灰石呈胶状集合体组成,是在相对宁静环境条件下,由磷酸盐直接从介质中析出,并经胶体聚沉或藻类黏结而形成的初始结构。在单偏光下,凝胶结构一般无特殊内部结构,可见陈化龟裂纹或藻类、真菌等微生物。同时,该结构是浪基面之下滨外沉积的磷质岩主要矿石结构,也可见于滨岸低能沉积环境以及陆相渗流带。
海相凝胶结构的磷质岩、陆相凝胶结构的磷质岩分别以凝胶磷质岩(图3a)、凝胶磷华(图3b[42]进行分类。
磷质岩成岩期、后生期结构主要包括成岩过程中的重结晶结构、碎屑化结构和成岩后的交代结构。重结晶结构通常表现为凝胶状碳氟磷灰石发生不同程度重结晶,形成不同粒度的柱状碳氟磷灰石 (图4a), 碎屑化结构表现为脱水收缩形成的多边形、可拼合“碎块”(图4b);而交代结构则表现为碳氟磷灰石被硫化物(如黄铁矿,图4d)、硅质矿物(如石英、玉髓,图4c, e)或白云石(图4f)交代。不同强度的交代作用可形成交代结构或交代残余结构,在磷质岩中均有不同程度的存在。
磷质岩的构造与其结构密切相关。
凝胶结构的磷质岩发育层状(块状、厚层状、中厚层状、薄层状、条带状、条纹状、层纹状)构造(图5a)、栉壳状构造(图5b)、透镜状构造(图5c)等;粒屑结构的磷质岩发育层状构造、层理(粒序层理、沙纹层理)构造及层面(波痕、冲刷坑、泥裂等)构造;藻黏结结构的磷质岩发育叠层构造(图5d)。其中条带状、条纹状构造是最常见的构造类型。具有碎屑状结构(图4b)的磷质岩同样可发育栉壳状构造,常见于成岩暴露带、滑塌堆积以及潮渠、滩。
磷质岩不同构造类型是其成因指示剂,既能直接反映古地理及沉积环境中物质成分的变化、介质的性质、水动力方式、能量和古气候等物理化学等综合因素,也能指示洋流上翻作用[27,48,49]
综合上述典型显微结构特点,我们发现现行磷质岩分类(国家标准GB/T 17412.2—1998之9.5条款及相关学者研究成果),存在以下局限性:1)磷质岩的形成涉及复杂的生物化学过程、沉积环境变化和后生成岩作用,而现有的分类未能充分反映这些不同的成因机制,给精确判断岩石的形成过程和形成环境带来难度;2)磷质岩在成岩过程中可能会经历多种变化,如重结晶、交代作用等,而现有的分类可能没有充分反映这些成岩-后生变化对岩石特征的影响,导致分类的静态性,较难体现岩石的动态形成历史;3)磷质岩的形成常与生物活动密切相关,尤其是微生物和有机质的作用,但现有分类可能未充分整合生物成因的标志,导致分类中对生物贡献的识别不足。
物质成分是磷质岩的属性参数,而基质、颗粒与颗粒间排列方式则是研究磷质岩沉积特征的重要因素。鉴于磷质岩与碳酸盐岩同属内源沉积岩,本文主要以福克(R. L. Folk)的机械沉积成因观点[50,51]为基础,融合邓哈姆(Dunham)提出的二端元分类[52],依据粒屑、泥晶基质、亮晶胶结物三端元组分含量的不同,将磷质岩分为五类。其中,粒屑(亦称颗粒、异化粒)的含量采用≥90%、50%~<90%、25%~<50%、10%~<25%、<10%五级,并参照国家标准(GB/T 17412.2—1998)之9.5条款,提出了磷质岩按结构成因划分类型时的分类命名新建议方案(表2)。
表2所示,本文建议的磷质岩结构成因分类,强调了以下几个方面:1)以磷质岩的岩石结构、沉积构造特征与其矿物组合作为区分异地磷质岩、原地磷质岩、重结晶磷质岩、泥裂磷质岩及硅化磷质岩的重要参考,从而反映磷质岩的动态形成历史;2)细化并补充了磷质岩中的粒屑类型,补充了生物碎屑作为粒屑成分,并将粒屑类型具体划分为内碎屑、生物碎屑、包粒、团粒及团块,强调生物碎屑作为磷质岩中的重要组成部分参与磷质岩的形成;3)在原地磷质岩中,依据藻不同的结构类型,增加叠层石磷质岩、层纹石磷质岩、凝块石磷质岩类型以反映藻在磷质岩中的不同形态;4)在原地磷质岩中增加了陆相沉积型磷华的磷质岩类型。

准确的磷质岩分类命名,不仅为磷质岩微相解析、沉积相判别提供了坚实的基础;也为磷矿成矿规律总结、成矿靶区预测提供了基础资料。以贵州代表性磷矿床(开阳洋水磷矿、瓮安白岩磷矿、丹寨番仰磷矿、瓮安厦安磷矿、织金新华磷矿、册亨板其磷矿)为例,根据典型矿石结构成因分类,结合其微相分析,构建了微相类型与沉积相之间的空间关系(表3)。从表3可以看出:1)具(砾)砂屑结构、生物屑结构的磷质岩多分布于台地-台缘碎屑滩;2)具藻黏结结构的磷质岩产于台缘;3)具渗流豆结构的磷质岩产于大气淡水影响区;4)凝胶结构的磷质岩产于斜坡-陆棚。
根据磷质岩结构成因研究进展,提出了完善磷质岩分类命名标准的具体建议。增加:1)震积液化成因内碎屑磷质岩;2)生物屑磷质岩亚类;3)陆相包粒磷质岩亚类;4)成岩后生碎屑状磷质岩;5)陆相沉积型磷华等磷质岩类型。
根据磷质岩微相特征分析了扬子地台内主要磷矿床相关磷质岩的沉积相,为磷矿成矿规律总结、成矿靶区预测提供基础资料。
