Beryllium is a key strategic metal, which is of great significance to the development of science, technology and industry in China. There will be a large shortage of demanded beryllium supply by 2030. Previous researches have shown that there is relatively high exploration potential of beryllium resource in the Himalayan area. However, the high altitude of the Himalayan area has severely restricted the effectiveness of traditional geological prospecting methods. Hyperspectral remote sensing technology is characterized by the wide detection area and non-invasive measurement. If it can directly identify beryllium-containing minerals, it will provide important technical support for the exploration of beryllium resources in high altitude areas. Beryl is the most typical ore mineral in beryllium deposits in China. In this paper, the spectra of beryllium-bearing beryls were measured by using the visible-shortwave infrared spectroscopy and thermal infrared spectroscopy. Meanwhile, based on the simulation of main mineral characteristics of pegmatitic beryls, some mixed mineral samples with different percentages of beryls have been prepared for undertaking their short-wave infrared spectral quantitative study. The experimental results show that beryl has absorption characteristics at 850 nm, 1150 nm, 1400 nm, 1900 nm, 2055 nm, 2155 nm and 2200 nm in visible-shortwave infrared spectra, and reflection characteristics at 960 cm–1(~10417 nm) in thermal infrared spectra. At the same time, the absorption peak depths and first derivatives at 850 nm and 1400 nm are increased with the increase of beryl contents in the mixed samples. By comparing with previous remote sensing spectral features of ground objects, it is found that the direct identification of beryl in pegmatitic beryllium ore by using the thermal infrared hyperspectral remote sensing is highly feasible. The visible-shortwave infrared remote sensing technique using the sun light as light source will be affected by the atmosphere, and its feasibility for directly identifying beryl is relatively low. However, by using artificial light as light source, feasibility for directly identifying beryl in a short distance is relatively high. Additionally, the content of beryl in pegmatite ores can be retrieved according to the absorption peak depth and other indicators.

铍是一种关键战略金属,对我国科技与工业发展意义重大,到2030年将存在巨大缺口。前人研究表明,喜马拉雅地区具有较大铍勘查潜力,但高海拔严重制约了传统地质找矿方法。高光谱遥感技术具有探测面积广且无侵入式测量的特征,倘若能直接识别含铍矿物,将为高海拔地区铍资源勘查提供重要技术支持。绿柱石是我国铍矿床中最典型的矿石矿物。本文使用可见光-短波红外光谱仪和热红外光谱仪对含铍绿柱石的光谱进行测量,同时模拟伟晶岩型铍矿的主要矿物特征,制备了不同绿柱石含量的矿物混合样品,进行了短波红外光谱的定量研究。实验结果表明:绿柱石在可见光-短波红外谱段的850、1150、1400、1900、2055、2155和2200 nm处有吸收特征,在热红外谱段的 960 cm–1(约10 417 nm)处有反射特征;还发现850和1400 nm处的吸收峰深度和一阶导数均随混合样品中绿柱石含量增加而增大。通过与以往地物光谱特征进行对比,本研究发现,利用热红外高光谱遥感对伟晶岩型铍矿中的绿柱石进行直接识别具有较高可行性,而可见光-短波红外遥感若以太阳为光源会受大气影响,直接识别绿柱石的可行性较低,但若使用人工光源在较近距离对绿柱石识别的可行性较高,此外,还能根据吸收峰深度等指标反演伟晶岩脉中的绿柱石含量。

铍是一种关键战略金属,对我国科技与工业发展意义重大,到2030年将存在巨大缺口。前人研究表明,喜马拉雅地区具有较大铍勘查潜力,但高海拔严重制约了传统地质找矿方法。高光谱遥感技术具有探测面积广且无侵入式测量的特征,倘若能直接识别含铍矿物,将为高海拔地区铍资源勘查提供重要技术支持。绿柱石是我国铍矿床中最典型的矿石矿物。本文使用可见光-短波红外光谱仪和热红外光谱仪对含铍绿柱石的光谱进行测量,同时模拟伟晶岩型铍矿的主要矿物特征,制备了不同绿柱石含量的矿物混合样品,进行了短波红外光谱的定量研究。实验结果表明:绿柱石在可见光-短波红外谱段的850、1150、1400、1900、2055、2155和2200 nm处有吸收特征,在热红外谱段的 960 cm–1(约10 417 nm)处有反射特征;还发现850和1400 nm处的吸收峰深度和一阶导数均随混合样品中绿柱石含量增加而增大。通过与以往地物光谱特征进行对比,本研究发现,利用热红外高光谱遥感对伟晶岩型铍矿中的绿柱石进行直接识别具有较高可行性,而可见光-短波红外遥感若以太阳为光源会受大气影响,直接识别绿柱石的可行性较低,但若使用人工光源在较近距离对绿柱石识别的可行性较高,此外,还能根据吸收峰深度等指标反演伟晶岩脉中的绿柱石含量。

Beryllium is a key strategic metal, which is of great significance to the development of science, technology and industry in China. There will be a large shortage of demanded beryllium supply by 2030. Previous researches have shown that there is relatively high exploration potential of beryllium resource in the Himalayan area. However, the high altitude of the Himalayan area has severely restricted the effectiveness of traditional geological prospecting methods. Hyperspectral remote sensing technology is characterized by the wide detection area and non-invasive measurement. If it can directly identify beryllium-containing minerals, it will provide important technical support for the exploration of beryllium resources in high altitude areas. Beryl is the most typical ore mineral in beryllium deposits in China. In this paper, the spectra of beryllium-bearing beryls were measured by using the visible-shortwave infrared spectroscopy and thermal infrared spectroscopy. Meanwhile, based on the simulation of main mineral characteristics of pegmatitic beryls, some mixed mineral samples with different percentages of beryls have been prepared for undertaking their short-wave infrared spectral quantitative study. The experimental results show that beryl has absorption characteristics at 850 nm, 1150 nm, 1400 nm, 1900 nm, 2055 nm, 2155 nm and 2200 nm in visible-shortwave infrared spectra, and reflection characteristics at 960 cm–1(~10417 nm) in thermal infrared spectra. At the same time, the absorption peak depths and first derivatives at 850 nm and 1400 nm are increased with the increase of beryl contents in the mixed samples. By comparing with previous remote sensing spectral features of ground objects, it is found that the direct identification of beryl in pegmatitic beryllium ore by using the thermal infrared hyperspectral remote sensing is highly feasible. The visible-shortwave infrared remote sensing technique using the sun light as light source will be affected by the atmosphere, and its feasibility for directly identifying beryl is relatively low. However, by using artificial light as light source, feasibility for directly identifying beryl in a short distance is relatively high. Additionally, the content of beryl in pegmatite ores can be retrieved according to the absorption peak depth and other indicators.

铍是我国的关键战略金属矿产[1],具有低密度、高熔点、高比热、良好热导率等特点,且体积稳定、核性能好,因而被广泛用于精密仪器、仪表制造,航空、航天工业以及核领域。近年来,随着我国高新科技与先进工业的不断发展,国内对铍的需求量也与日俱增。据全球工业分析公司(GIA)预测,2025年和2030年,我国对铍的需求量将达到128 t和180 t,届时将存在较大需求缺口。
为保障我国铍资源供给,除加大资源引进外,还需增加对国内铍矿的勘查与开发力度。目前,我国的铍矿床主要以花岗伟晶岩型、火山岩型和碱性岩型为主[2],含铍矿物以绿柱石为主,次为硅铍石和羟硅铍石。从已探明的矿床储量和矿床分布来看,我国的铍矿主要集中在西北干旱与高海拔地区[2-19],地质找矿工作十分艰险。
遥感技术具有无接触探测能力,特别适于干旱和高海拔地区的矿产地质勘查工作[20-23],在铍资源勘查方面也有成功应用的案例[24-29]。作为第二代遥感技术的高光谱遥感技术,特别是航空和地面高光谱遥感技术兼具有“高空间”和“高光谱”分辨率的特征,不仅能识别近矿围岩蚀变,有时还能直接识别矿石矿物,这为遥感的直接找矿以及高光谱选矿与潜力评价提供了新的技术支持。
遗憾的是,当前国内针对铍矿的遥感研究依然停留在对赋铍岩石和脉体的特征研究上,而针对绿柱石等含铍矿石矿物的研究则很少,特别是缺少光谱定量方面的研究,这对高光谱遥感在铍矿领域的应用产生了不利影响。为填补这一空白,本文以绿柱石样品为研究对象,利用ASD可见光-短波红外光谱仪开展了绿柱石光谱特征研究,同时利用矿物混合方法研究了不同绿柱石含量条件下的光谱特征变化。此外,还利用便携式手持热红外光谱仪对绿柱石的热红外光谱进行了测量。上述工作为高光谱技术能更好地服务于我国铍矿勘查提供助力。
本研究用于样品光谱测量的仪器有两套,其中一套用于可见光-短波红外光谱的测量,另一套用于热红外光谱的测量。
用于样品可见光-短波红外光谱测量的仪器为Malvern Panalytical公司生产的ASD FieldSpec 4 Hi-Res NG光谱仪。该光谱仪装备了512单元硅阵列和两个InGaAs光电转换元件,并配有双级热电制冷。多达1875个独立通道可采集样品在350~2500 nm范围的光谱曲线,覆盖了可见光-近红外-短波红外谱段信息。详细的光谱仪参数如表1所示。
用于样品热红外光谱测量的仪器为Agilent公司生产的Agilent 4300手持式 FTIR光谱仪。该光谱仪的测量范围为650~4000 cm–1,分辨率为4~16 cm–1,搭载MicroLab Mobile软件对仪器进行控制,随机配备采样模块支持对固体矿物样品进行测量。
用于本次测试的绿柱石样品共4件,由核工业北京地质研究院遥感信息与图像分析技术国家级重点实验室提供,编号分别为S04、S05、S24和S31。样品的原始照片如图1所示,其中绿柱石用红色虚线标注。从图1中可见4件绿柱石样品中的绿柱石矿物均为浅绿色,其中S04、S24、S31三件样品的绿柱石结晶程度较好,可见明显的柱状晶体,S05的绿柱石自形程度较差,呈短柱状、块状。4件样品中的绿柱石均产出于变质环境,其中S04产出于石英脉中,S05的绿柱石周围是白色石英,此外还有黑色的辉石晶体。相比而言,S24和S31的绿柱石周围则是富含细小云母的变质岩。
针对热红外光谱测量,由于Agilent 4300热红外光谱仪随机配备的采样模块仅支持固体样品而不支持粉末样品,因此选用S24、S04和S31号样品直接利用Agilent 4300光谱仪进行绿柱石热红外光谱的测量。针对可见光-短波红外光谱测量,首先将4件样品进行初步破碎,形成粒度在5~20 mm范围的颗粒,并从中挑选出大块的绿柱石颗粒,避免挑选其他杂质矿物,然后对挑选的纯绿柱石颗粒进行二次破碎至120目以上,形成绿柱石粉末样品,最后利用ASD光谱仪测量绿柱石的可见-短波红外光谱。
虽然光谱测量是无损的,不会消耗绿柱石粉末,但由于4件样品中的绿柱石总体质量较小,而制备混合样品会消耗大量绿柱石粉末,因此先将4件样品中的绿柱石粉末混合在一起,再进行混合样品的制备。
本研究以质量百分比作为衡量混合程度的依据,采用二端元混合方式进行混合样品的制备,其中第一端元为绿柱石粉末,第二端元为基质粉末。由于我国的铍矿床以伟晶岩、火山岩和碱性岩为主,因此本研究的基质采用石英和钾长石矿物粉末混合方式制备。先将石英和钾长石粉碎为120目以上的粉末,然后按照质量1:2的比例进行混合。混合后的粉末样品相当于SiO2、Al2O3和K2O的含量分别为76.5%、12.23%和11.27%,与很多酸性岩浆岩和火山岩的化学成分类似。然后再按照表2中的质量比例将绿柱石粉末同基质粉末进行混合形成混合样品。最后再利用混合样品进行第二次光谱测量,得到不同质量百分数的绿柱石混合样品的光谱曲线。
针对绿柱石热红外光谱的测量,首先将Agilent 4300热红外光谱仪开机并预热15分钟,然后将仪器探测口紧贴绿柱石固体样品,利用MicroLab Mobile软件的测量功能采集样品的热红外光谱曲线,再利用MicroLab Mobile软件的导出功能将所采集的热红外光谱导出为*.csv文件,最后利用Excel生成光谱曲线。
针对绿柱石可见-短波红外光谱的测量,首先将ASD FieldSpec 4 Hi-Res NG光谱仪安装上光学探头,并同笔记本电脑用网线连接。接通光谱仪和笔记本的电源,启动预先安装在笔记本电脑上的RS3光谱仪控制软件,检查软件与光谱仪之间的通信连接是否正常。如连接正常则让光谱仪在带电状态下预热30 min,然后单击RS3软件的DC按钮让光谱仪采集暗电流,再单击OPT按钮让光谱仪完成自动曝光优化。之后,打开光学探头,并利用漫反射白板对仪器进行白板矫正,具体方法为:将探头擦拭干净并顶住白板防止探头漏光,再单击RS3软件的WR按钮完成自动白板校正。经白板校正后的光谱仪即可直接采集样品的反射率曲线。在具体测量过程中,由于被测样品呈粉末状,因此使用低反射率的样品托盘辅助进行测量。测量前,先对托盘和白板的反射率进行一次采集,保证白板的反射率为1,托盘的反射率不高于5%,然后再进行样品的光谱测量。测量时先将粉末样品平铺于托盘之上,再将探头贴紧托盘上的样品进行测量,防止探头漏光或环境中的荧光干扰。每件样品由光谱仪自动进行10次光谱采集,然后由软件自动求取平均值后生成一条光谱曲线。测量获得的曲线首先利用RS3软件导出为*.asd格式的文件,然后利用ViewSpecPro软件导出成*.csv格式的文件,最终利用Excel生成光谱曲线。
测量获得的3件绿柱石样品的热红外光谱曲线如图2所示。可以看出绿柱石在热红外谱段存在多处明显的反射峰,其中 2850 cm–1处有一较宽的反射峰,在680、 740、810 cm–1有相对较弱的反射尖峰,而在960、 1023、1220 cm–1有较强的反射尖峰。
测量获得的4件绿柱石样品的可见-短波红外光谱曲线如图3所示。可以看出所有绿柱石粉末样品的反射率整体较高,且光谱曲线的形态基本保持一致,吸收峰位的重现性也很高。曲线在850 nm处有一个宽缓的吸收特征峰,在1400和1900 nm处有两个较为对称的阶梯状吸收峰。此外,在1150 nm附近有一个较小的吸收尖峰,在2055、2155和2200 nm附近则有一连串规模较小但整体宽缓的吸收峰。
测量获得的9件混合样品的可见-短波红外光谱曲线如图4所示。可以看出,不同绿柱石质量百分比的混合样品的光谱曲线形态变化较大。当样品完全为绿柱石时(H9),光谱曲线的吸收特征与图3中所示的绿柱石的光谱特征类似。当样品完全为基质时(H1),光谱曲线在600 nm之前呈缓慢的上升形态,在600 nm之后则整体趋于平缓。当绿柱石端元在10%至90%变化过程中,位于850、1400和1900 nm处的吸收峰变化十分明显,而位于1150、2055、2155和2200 nm处的吸收峰变化较小。事实上,1150、2055、2155和2200 nm处的吸收峰仅在绿柱石质量百分比超过80%时才能显现。
前人研究表明,高光谱遥感具备直接找矿能力。所谓直接找矿不仅指识别规模较小的近矿围岩蚀变,更能直接识别矿石矿物。例如,对于钾盐矿床,其矿石矿物为光卤石,其在1210、1450、1760、1980和2265 nm处有吸收特征峰,利用这些特征即能开展光卤石的高光谱识别[30]。同理,只要含铍的矿石矿物具有特殊吸收或反射峰同样可以利用高光谱技术进行识别。
本文通过对绿柱石热红外和可见-短波红外光谱进行测量,发现其在热红外光谱的680、740、810、960、1023、1220、2850 cm–1等多处有反射特征,其中,960、1023、1220 cm–1处的反射特征正好位于常见机载热红外高光谱的谱段范围(8~11.5 μm, 870~1250 cm–1) 之内。同时,通过对比绿柱石、石英、长石在该谱段的热红外光谱曲线(图5),发现 960 cm–1处的反射峰与长石和石英存在明显的差异,因而可作为识别伟晶岩中绿柱石的重要依据。
此外,绿柱石在可见-短波红外谱段的850、1150、1400、1900、2055、2155和2200 nm处也有吸收特征,但上述特征峰可能受其他因素的影响。例如,水分子在1070~1200 nm、1300~1500 nm、1700~2000 nm会有较强的吸收,如果以太阳作为光源,在阳光透过大气时,上述谱段的能量会严重损耗,而绿柱石恰好在1150、1400、1900 nm有3个非常明显的特征峰,显然这3个特征峰将会被水汽吸收峰掩蔽。此时,只能使用850、2055、2155和2200 nm几个相对较弱的吸收峰识别绿柱石,这会严重降低识别的效果。
虽然大气中水分子会对绿柱石1150、1400、1900 nm处的特征峰产生影响,但若使用室内人工光源,且光源与被测物距离较小,大气水分子不会对光源产生过大影响,此时上述吸收特征依然可作为识别绿柱石的重要标志。
如果考虑实际场景,那么航空热红外高光谱识别绿柱石是比较有效的,而航空可见-短波红外高光谱由于以太阳光作为光源,其会受到大气水分子的影响,只能以850、2055、2155和2200 nm等较弱的吸收峰作为识别标志,识别效果可能受到限制。相比而言,如果以自带光源的高光谱技术,如:露头成像高光谱技术和岩心成像高光谱技术[30,31],那么1150、1400、1900 nm的吸收特征依然可作为绿柱石的识别标志,从而针对一些人力难以抵达的露头部位或者深部岩心开展找矿与研究工作。此外,对于一些粒度较细的绿柱石晶体,当肉眼无法分辨时,利用便携式或手持光谱仪[32-34]也可以根据上述特征对绿柱石进行识别。
遥感找矿不仅要识别近矿围岩蚀变和矿石矿物,更重要的是对矿石矿物的含量进行估算,如此才能更好地服务矿产资源评价工作。通常情况下,可用矿石中的矿石矿物和非矿石矿物各自所占的比例衡量矿石的好坏:矿石矿物含量越高,矿石越好。从遥感的角度看,矿石矿物和非矿石矿物好比两个端元,而遥感的任务就是判断两个端元各自所占的比例。
本研究以绿柱石和石英-钾长石混合基质作为两个端元。从图4中可以看出,纯绿柱石样品(H9)和纯基质样品(H1)的光谱曲线无论在形态还是吸收特征上均有非常大的区别。而通过改变两个端元的比例,所测得的混合样品的光谱曲线也会相应发生变化,这就为高光谱遥感评价铍矿石的好坏奠定了基础。
虽然不同绿柱石含量的混合样品在光谱曲线的形态和吸收特征上存在差异,但如何定量地反映这种差异才是高光谱衡量铍矿石好坏的关键。为此,前人提出了多种衡量光谱曲线变化特征的数学指标,如吸收深度、吸收峰肩宽、偏度、导数等[35],其中吸收深度和导数是最常用的两个指标。吸收深度可将光谱曲线去包络线后,再用1减去对应波长去包络线后的反射率值进行计算,而导数可利用ENVI+IDL的Deriv函数进行计算。
图6展示了不同绿柱石含量的混合样品在850和1400 nm处吸收深度和一阶导数的变化情况。可以看出,不同绿柱石含量的混合样品在吸收深度和一阶导数上均表现出一定规律,即随着混合样品中绿柱石含量的增加,其850和1400 nm处的吸收峰深度和一阶导数均呈现上升趋势,但吸收深度的变化比一阶导数更为稳定,具有更高的线性拟合程度。因此,在实际工作中可使用吸收深度作为判断铍矿石优劣的重要指标。
绿柱石在热红外和可见-短波红外谱段有多处吸收(反射)峰,其中 960 cm–1处的热红外反射峰可作为航空热红外识别伟晶岩中绿柱石的重要依据,而1150、1400、1900 nm处的短波红外吸收峰由于易受大气水分子的影响,仅可用于人工光源条件下的地面或岩心高光谱的绿柱石识别工作,相比而言,850、2055、2155和2200 nm处的吸收峰由于强度较弱,识别绿柱石的效果可能大打折扣。不同绿柱石含量的混合样品光谱在850和1400 nm波长位置的吸收峰深度和一阶导数存在规律性变化,二者均随绿柱石含量的增加呈上升趋势。相比而言,吸收深度比一阶导数具有更高的线性拟合度,可优先使用吸收深度判断铍矿石的优劣。
