The Chang’E-7 spacecraft is scheduled to be landed in the Aitken Basin region of the lunar south pole to conduct comprehensive exploration and research on the lunar surface environment. As one of the main detectors onboard the Chang’E-7 spacecraft, a lunar dust detector is developed for in-situ measurements of naturally suspended dust in the polar region, key parameters such as the particle size, velocity, and cumulative mass flux will be obtained. To achieve high-precision scientific detection, systematic ground calibration experiments were conducted. For particle size calibration, a single-particle free-fall method combined with an equivalent test scheme using neutral density filters was employed, achieving coverage of the particle size range from 1 µm to 5000 µm. Experimental results demonstrate that the particle size retrieval error does not exceed 17%. Velocity calibration was performed by measuring the time-of-flight of free-falling particles from different heights, yielding a velocity measurement error within 13%. For mass flux calibration, the solution titration method was used to obtain the sensitivity of the Quartz Crystal Microbalances, with sensitivities in three orthogonal directions all on the order of 10–9 g·Hz–1·cm–2 and exhibiting good linearity. Furthermore, temperature-frequency correction curves were established to support the normalization of in-orbit data. The calibration results indicate that the performance indicators of the dust detector meet the requirements for detection in the extreme environment of the lunar south pole. The established calibration methods and retrieval models provide a reliable foundation for the interpretation of subsequent in-orbit scientific data.

嫦娥七号探测器将在月球南极区域的艾特肯盆地着陆, 开展月球南极月表环境的综合探测与研究. 其中月表尘埃探头将对极区撞击坑附近自然悬浮的尘埃粒径、速度以及累积质量通量等关键特性参数进行原位测量. 为实现高精度的科学探测, 开展了系统的地面定标试验. 其中粒径定标采用单颗粒自由落体方法, 结合中性滤波片等效测试方案, 实现了1~5000 µm粒径范围的覆盖. 试验结果显示, 粒径反演误差不超过17%. 速度定标通过自由落体颗粒在不同高度下的飞行时间测量, 测速误差在13%以内. 通量定标采用溶液滴定法获得了石英晶体微量天平的质量灵敏度, 三方向质量灵敏度均在10–9 g·Hz–1·cm–2量级, 线性度良好, 同时建立了温度–频率修正曲线, 以支持在轨数据的归一化处理. 定标结果表明, 尘埃探头各项性能指标满足月球南极极端环境下的探测需求, 所建立的定标方法和反演模型为后续在轨科学数据的解译提供了可靠依据.

嫦娥七号探测器将在月球南极区域的艾特肯盆地着陆, 开展月球南极月表环境的综合探测与研究. 其中月表尘埃探头将对极区撞击坑附近自然悬浮的尘埃粒径、速度以及累积质量通量等关键特性参数进行原位测量. 为实现高精度的科学探测, 开展了系统的地面定标试验. 其中粒径定标采用单颗粒自由落体方法, 结合中性滤波片等效测试方案, 实现了1~5000 µm粒径范围的覆盖. 试验结果显示, 粒径反演误差不超过17%. 速度定标通过自由落体颗粒在不同高度下的飞行时间测量, 测速误差在13%以内. 通量定标采用溶液滴定法获得了石英晶体微量天平的质量灵敏度, 三方向质量灵敏度均在10–9 g·Hz–1·cm–2量级, 线性度良好, 同时建立了温度–频率修正曲线, 以支持在轨数据的归一化处理. 定标结果表明, 尘埃探头各项性能指标满足月球南极极端环境下的探测需求, 所建立的定标方法和反演模型为后续在轨科学数据的解译提供了可靠依据.

The Chang’E-7 spacecraft is scheduled to be landed in the Aitken Basin region of the lunar south pole to conduct comprehensive exploration and research on the lunar surface environment. As one of the main detectors onboard the Chang’E-7 spacecraft, a lunar dust detector is developed for in-situ measurements of naturally suspended dust in the polar region, key parameters such as the particle size, velocity, and cumulative mass flux will be obtained. To achieve high-precision scientific detection, systematic ground calibration experiments were conducted. For particle size calibration, a single-particle free-fall method combined with an equivalent test scheme using neutral density filters was employed, achieving coverage of the particle size range from 1 µm to 5000 µm. Experimental results demonstrate that the particle size retrieval error does not exceed 17%. Velocity calibration was performed by measuring the time-of-flight of free-falling particles from different heights, yielding a velocity measurement error within 13%. For mass flux calibration, the solution titration method was used to obtain the sensitivity of the Quartz Crystal Microbalances, with sensitivities in three orthogonal directions all on the order of 10–9 g·Hz–1·cm–2 and exhibiting good linearity. Furthermore, temperature-frequency correction curves were established to support the normalization of in-orbit data. The calibration results indicate that the performance indicators of the dust detector meet the requirements for detection in the extreme environment of the lunar south pole. The established calibration methods and retrieval models provide a reliable foundation for the interpretation of subsequent in-orbit scientific data.

月球由于缺少全球性大气和磁场保护, 表面直接受到微流星撞击、太阳辐照以及太阳风和银河宇宙射线的轰击, 形成了风化层[1]. 风化层中包含很多易于迁移的细小颗粒, 这类尘埃发生迁移运动时, 会对月表及近月空间的环境产生重要影响. 深入了解月球尘埃的基本性质和运动规律对研究月表物质风化、月球大气演化以及月表物质成分演化具有重要的科学价值. 此外, 月尘是人类在月面开展科研活动必须要面对的首要环境问题. 未来进行月球基地建设也要首先认识月球尘埃的基本性质及运动规律[2].
嫦娥七号计划于2026年前后发射, 着陆区选址在月球南纬85°以上的南极–艾特肯盆地区域. 月球极区的太阳高度角极低, 太阳光电子是月面充电电流的主要来源[3], 因此太阳风条件对月尘运动具有重要影响. 此外, 根据月尘的静电迁移理论, 在晨昏交界处或者极低太阳高度角区域, 月球尘埃具有明显的地形依赖性. 嫦娥七号着陆区域地形更为复杂, 山多、坑多, 地形起伏大, 月面尘埃的活动可能非常强烈[4]. 在月球极区, 太阳高度角极低, 光电子电流极弱, 德拜长度大, 此时尘埃活动由电子电流主导. 太阳风电子温度及密度对尘埃运动有很大影响, 因此嫦娥七号的预计着陆点具有丰富的尘埃活动现象. Xie等[5,6]利用自主建立的理论模型并结合数值模拟, 对沙克尔顿坑附近的带电及尘埃迁移特征进行理论分析, 结果显示地形遮挡带来的尘埃静电喷泉活动可以在沙克尔顿坑附近形成一个厚度10 km、半径约40 km的局部尘埃云, 其尘埃密度可大于104 m–3, 尘埃迁移速度在m·s–1量级. 同时, 由于可能的水冰条件, 极区是月球科研站建设的主要候选区域之一. 综上, 进行月球极区尘埃特性探测对中国未来持续开展科学探测研究和资源开发利用等具有重要意义.
嫦娥七号任务对尘埃探头的性能指标要求见表1. 结合具体工程可实现程度进行了系统设计. 尘埃探头的系统组成如图1所示, 主要包括粒径测量单元、通量测量单元和电子学系统三部分. 其中月面尘埃粒径的原位测量基于尘埃对激光散射的原理实现, 而尘埃的速度大小由尘埃通过一定厚度的激光光幕所需时间给出. 此外, 尘埃探头通过石英晶体微量天平(Quartz Crystal Microbalance, QCM)测试三个正交方向的尘埃通量.
图1可以看出, 月尘粒径测量单元位于尘埃探头顶部的尘埃入口处, 尘埃入口尺寸为20 mm × 20 mm, 激光器及整形组件是粒径测量单元的独立组成部分, 在尘埃入口处形成强度稳定、空间分布均匀的激光探测光幕. 月尘通量测量传感器由3个不同朝向(正交)的QCM组成, 分布于尘埃探头顶部边角位置, 以便收集不同方向的尘埃颗粒. 尘埃主控单元位于通量单元和粒径测量单元下方, 主要完成通量单元和粒径测量单元所测电学量的采集、处理、分析以及激光器光强设置、探头保护盖控制、对外通信等. 二次电源模块位于尘埃探头最下方, 负责电源配置及开关机控制.
为获得尘埃探头重要的在轨参数, 验证科学指标的可达性, 保证尘埃探头科学数据的可靠性, 围绕μm级粒径和m·s–1速度量级的单个尘埃以及模拟尘埃累积质量通量, 开展了地面定标试验.
嫦娥七号尘埃探头中, 月尘颗粒的粒径与速度测量单元是基于颗粒的激光散射原理实现的, 该方法具有测量精确、快速、非接触、不破坏粒子动力学特性等优点. 欧空局 (ESA)罗塞塔任务首次采用该原理实现了对低速彗星尘埃粒径的测量[7,8], 但罗塞塔任务对尘埃粒径的测量下限在30 μm左右[9]. 不同于罗塞塔计划, 嫦娥七号采用球面反射镜搭配凸透镜的光学结构, 在探测光幕两侧分别放置球面反射镜和凸透镜, 其中凸透镜后接激光窄带滤光片和光电探测器, 以获取较大接收角范围内颗粒的散射光信号, 通过增大散射光通量的采集范围, 有效拓展了月尘粒径的测量下限, 尘埃探头光路设计如图2所示.
尘埃探头的地面定标方案如图3所示. 尘埃探头采用特定频率的方波信号源调制激光驱动电源, 驱动半导体激光器产生调制激光光束. 该激光光束经由光束整形系统后, 在尘埃探头入口处形成探测面积6 mm × 6 mm、厚度2.6 mm的激光探测区域. 待测月尘颗粒从探头入口处进入探头内部, 从厚度方向穿越激光探测区域而产生散射光. 其中, 颗粒的散射光被侧向的散射信号采集系统收集, 并由光电探测器转换为对应强度的电信号. 尘埃探头探测到的颗粒散射强度与入射光强呈现正比关系, 入射光强度越高, 散射强度越大. 由于激光光束沿厚度方向上的光强呈准高斯空间分布, 因此在一个完整的颗粒探测事件中, 伴随着颗粒进入光幕、穿越光幕、离开光幕, 尘埃探头探测到的散射强度随位置也呈现出准高斯分布. 实际测量中尘埃探头将信号最大值记录为激光散射信号的输出值, 对应颗粒在光幕中心的散射强度. 对于特定成分的颗粒, 其产生的散射光强度与颗粒粒径呈正相关, 即颗粒粒径越大, 散射光强度越大. 因此, 对系统采集到的散射光信号强度、时长及频次进行分析, 即可反演得到颗粒的粒径、速度及浓度等信息.
在轨探测之前, 需通过地面定标试验建立散射信号强度与待测颗粒粒径之间的定量关系, 明确激光散射的测量特性, 包括测量精度和测量误差等, 从而为在轨数据的科学分析提供关键支撑. 在地面定标过程中, 将不同成分、不同粒径大小的球形颗粒在不同高度以自由落体方式定向穿过激光探测区域, 模拟月面在轨探测时月尘颗粒穿越激光探测区域的过程.
粒径地面定标试验的具体步骤如下.
步骤1 使用光学显微镜测量待测球形颗粒样品的粒径, 将此粒径值作为真实值.
步骤2 利用颗粒拾取装置, 将不同粒径大小的球形颗粒以自由落体方式定向送入激光探测区域, 记录尘埃探头的电压信号输出数据.
步骤3 针对确定粒径的单个颗粒进行样品回收, 并重复步骤2进行测量, 重复测量10次, 取10次电压信号输出数据平均值作为该颗粒的测量信号值.
步骤4 记录不同材质、不同粒径颗粒的测量信号值, 建立测量信号值与颗粒粒径的对应关系.
考虑到月面尘埃颗粒主要以硅酸盐成分为主, 因此地面定标试验选用材质为SiO2 (折射率1.45)和ZrO2 (折射率2.12)的球形颗粒, 粒径范围为200~5000 μm. 对于粒径小于200 μm的粒子, 难以实现单颗粒定向拾取释放, 因此参考天问二号喷发物分析仪定标试验中采取的等效测量方案[10]. 具体做法为, 通过中性滤波片衰减激光光强, 采用较大粒径颗粒对低强度激光的散射, 等效模拟较小粒径颗粒在原有强激光下的散射情况. 该等效方案主要基于颗粒的散射强度与入射光强呈线性关系的理论, 当入射光强衰减至原值的 1/$ \delta $,颗粒的散射光强亦将等比例衰减至原值的 1/$ \delta $。根据颗粒散射的米氏散射理论, 在不考虑噪声影响的情况下, 对于粒径D较大的颗粒, 例如D>10 λ, 其中λ为入射波波长976 nm, 则颗粒的散射光强度近似正比于颗粒粒径的平方 (D2). 因此, 当入射光光强衰减$ \delta $倍时, 粒径为D的颗粒散射强度近似等于激光未衰减时粒径为$ \delta $–1/2的颗粒散射强度. 为验证该方案的正确性, 分别使用SiO2和ZrO2球形颗粒, 在不同衰减倍率($ \delta $ = 1.26, 2.00, 2.51)条件下进行试验, 将大粒径颗粒对衰减后激光的散射信号与等效粒径的小粒径颗粒散射测量结果进行对比, 部分结果如图4所示. 图4中黑色方块点为衰减倍率1.26的试验结果, 可以看出经过等效粒径的转换, 黑色方块点对应的F-D关系与绿色倒三角形点代表的无衰减试验结果的F-D关系较为吻合; 同时, 红色球形点、蓝色正三角点分别代表的衰减倍率为2.00, 2.51, 也具有同样的性质, 这说明衰减方法可以等效为直接散射测试. 因此可以得到结论, 采用中性滤波片衰减后的大颗粒散射信号与直接散射的小颗粒的测量结果吻合良好, 验证了该等效测试方法的有效性.
为实现粒径大小覆盖1~5000 μm范围内尘埃粒子散射信号测量, 采用4级放大电路对光电探测器接收到的激光散射信号进行处理. 4级放大电路放大倍率分别约为1×103, 1×104, 2×105, 4×106, 分别对应信号Channel 1, Channel 2, Channel 3 和Channel 4, 覆盖不同粒径范围内颗粒的测量. 不同通道之间存在一定的冗余重叠, 在确保对目标颗粒粒径范围进行全覆盖的同时, 相邻通道可以进行交叉验证. 各信号通道探测范围上限取决于信号放大倍数及放大器最大输出电压, 探测范围下限则取决于探测器的本底噪声. 在具体定标过程中, 首先测量了实验室环境下各信号通道的统计平均本底噪声, 在此基础上, 将粒子事件的探测触发阈值设定为统计平均本底噪声值的1.3倍, 基于此阈值预估实验室环境下各信号通道对SiO2和ZrO2颗粒的粒径探测范围 (见表2). 值得说明的是, 在真空环境下, 激光光路中空气分子的散射得到有效抑制, 系统本底噪声大幅下降, 尘埃探头的测量下限得到进一步拓宽, 可以测量粒径小于1 μm的尘埃颗粒.
按照上述定标试验步骤及粒径等效试验方案, 使用尘埃探头对89组粒径范围在1~5000 μm 的SiO2和ZrO2球形颗粒进行了粒径定标测试. 散射信号测试结果与基于米氏光散射理论结果的对比如图5所示. 从图5可以看出, 当粒径小于1000 μm时, 实测结果与理论仿真结果具有较好的一致性, 当粒径大于1000 μm时, 实测结果逐渐偏离理论仿真曲线. 其主要原因在于尘埃探头的激光光束厚度为2.6 mm, 并且沿厚度方向光强呈准高斯分布. 当颗粒粒径大于1000 μm时, 激光照射在颗粒上的强度不再均匀, 实际的散射通量低于预期理论值.
根据散射理论, 在相同折射率下, 球形颗粒散射通量近似正比于粒径的平方. 为建立散射信号值与粒径的对应关系, 采用多项式拟合建立各通道散射信号值Fn与粒径D之间的关系式为

其中, n为通道序号, an为各通道定标系数(使用实验数据拟合产生, 与颗粒的折射率相关), bn为各通道的底噪信号值(由实验测得). 由标定试验结果看出, 第一通道散射信号F1与颗粒粒径D呈近似一阶线性关系, 因此使用线性表达式对该关系进行拟合, 有
$ F_1=k D+b_1, \quad D \gt 1000 \;\text{μm} . $
式中, k为线性拟合系数. 基于定标实测数据, 分别对式 (1) 中的参数an和式 (2) 中的参数k进行拟合, 确定拟合后各通道的拟合系数 (见表3). 散射信号测试结果与拟合曲线的对比如图5所示. 从图5可以看出, 测试结果与拟合曲线具有很好的一致性.
采用拟合公式对图5中的定标测试信号值进行颗粒粒径反演计算, 得到各通道粒径反演值与真实测量值Dreal的相对误差, 即
$ \varepsilon =\dfrac{\left| {D}_{\text{real}}-D\right| }{{D}_{\text{real}}}\times 100\%,$
其平均值列于表4. 从表4可以看出, 使用拟合公式得到的平均粒径反演误差不超过17%. 因此, 由定标试验结果拟合获得的颗粒散射信号值F与颗粒粒径D的关系式能够较好地描述系统中颗粒粒径与其散射信号值的关系.
嫦娥七号尘埃探头对颗粒速度的测量是利用尘埃粒子穿越特定厚度激光光幕的飞行时间实现的. 在一次粒子事件中, 尘埃探头记录颗粒进入光幕上表面(散射信号强度超过阈值的时间定义为颗粒事件起始时间)至颗粒离开光幕下表面(散射信号强度最后一次超过阈值的时间定义为颗粒事件结束时间)的时间间隔Δt, 结合由粒径测试信号F反演的粒径D和激光光幕厚度L, 可得尘埃粒子通过光幕的平均速度为
$ v=\frac{D+L}{\Delta t} . $
在地面定标试验中, 采用自由落体的方式将粒径尺寸确定的颗粒从不同高度释放, SiO2颗粒的理论速度值记为v0. 将式(3)测量的速度值与自由落体理论计算的速度v0进行比较, 确定尘埃探头速度测量的相对误差为
$ \varepsilon_v=\frac{\left|v_0-v\right|}{v_0}\times100\%. $
按照上述步骤, 对SiO2颗粒进行尘埃探头的速度测试定标, 自由落体高度h分别取为30, 40, 50, 60 mm. 速度定标测试结果与自由落体的理论速度对比见表5. 可以看出, 单次粒子事件速度测量结果接近自由落体理论计算值, 平均相对偏差均在15%的误差容许范围内. 值得注意的是, 从速度测试结果可以看出, 试验测量结果整体上稍高于理论结果, 这可能是在速度定标过程中, 自由落体待测颗粒在起始阶段并非完全静止, 而是存在一个微小的启动初速度, 从而使得颗粒在光幕内的速度略微偏高. 从结果上看, 这种影响随颗粒自由落体高度增加、颗粒在光幕中的速度提高而逐渐减小, 即速度较大颗粒的测速结果准确度高于低速颗粒.
月尘通量测量单元通过石英晶体的频率变化来测量单位面积内尘埃粒子的质量厚度. QCM是一种精密的微质量传感器, 其灵敏度可以达到纳克级[11]. 由于尘埃粒子和晶体表面的结合力不足以与晶体发生同频共振, 因此在晶体表面涂敷黏性膜来增大二者的结合力, 从而进行固体颗粒物累积质量的测量. 美国旅居者号火星探测器测量火星尘[12], 欧空局罗塞塔计划测量彗星尘埃, 中国嫦娥三号、嫦娥五号、天问二号任务测量尘埃的累积质量都采用类似的传感器[9,10]. 与上述任务不同, 嫦娥七号采用3个相互正交的QCM, 可以同时测量来自不同方向月尘的质量通量.
QCM的切角、晶体厚度、电极厚度、晶体掺杂等参数存在一定的离散性, 导致QCM (尤其是涂敷黏性膜后)性能差异可能较大. QCM的质量定标试验一方面用于获得涂膜后各个晶体的质量灵敏度系数, 另一方面也需要检定各个传感器的性能一致性.
尘埃累积质量定标采用溶液滴定法, 其定标条件主要包含标准物质溶液和移液装置. 在易挥发中性溶剂中配置一定浓度的固体颗粒物悬浊液, 使用标准取样装置吸取定量溶液, 将其滴定在QCM单元的石英晶体敏感电极的表面, 待溶液蒸发后, 读取频率变化并与溶质质量对应, 连续测量多点, 通过拟合获得QCM单元的质量灵敏度, 并通过QCM频率变化情况确定最大量程. 在标定过程中, 当QCM超量程后, 对QCM表面进行清洗并重新涂膜; 设备交付前再次进行清洗和涂膜. 另外, 将尘埃探头置于热真空试验设备中, 使其安装面与温控台面保持良好接触, 当背景温度降至–40℃时, 稳定1 h后读取频率值, 以一定阶跃高度(约5±3℃)依次加热并保持, 各个温度点均稳定1 h, 记录过程中QCM单元频率变化和QCM单元温度传感器指示温度, 并对获得的频率、温度数据采用三阶多项式进行拟合, 利用拟合曲线对在轨实测数据进行归一化修正.
依据上述定标方法, 得到三个方向的QCM灵敏度曲线, 如图6所示.
根据图6结果可以看出, x方向QCM测量灵敏度为3.71×10–9 g·Hz–1·cm–2, y方向QCM测量灵敏度为3.39×10–9 g·Hz–1·cm–2, z方向QCM测量灵敏度为3.61×10–9 g·Hz–1·cm–2; 在一定线性度范围内, 三方向QCM频率的变化均可达到45000 Hz. 由图6曲线可知, 三方向QCM灵敏度拟合曲线的拟合优度均大于0.95.
图7所示为三个方向QCM的温度–频率曲线. 尘埃探头QCM单元测量频率修正分别由以下拟合公式给出:

其中, fx, fy, fz分别为x, y, z三个方向的相对频率变化, 其值为该温度下频率相对于25℃基准频率的变化量与25℃基准频率的比值, 单位为ppm (1 ppm=10–6); T为QCM单元温度传感器指示温度与25℃的差值, 单位℃.
从灵敏度和温漂曲线的定标试验结果可以看出, 尘埃探头QCM可以线性反映沉积质量变化, 并且与裸晶体的理论灵敏度相当.
根据月球极区可能存在的自然悬浮尘埃的探测需求, 设计了基于激光散射原理和石英晶体压电效应的尘埃探头. 嫦娥七号尘埃探头可以测量尘埃的粒径、速度和累积质量. 地面定标试验的结果证实, 尘埃探头可以测量1~5000 μm范围内的颗粒粒径, 误差不超过17%. 同时, 在低速自由落体颗粒的测速中, 尘埃探头测速误差不高于13%. 最后, 通过QCM地面定标试验验证了各方向QCM的灵敏度和频率–温度修正公式. 定标结果符合预期, 验证了尘埃探头的可靠性, 可作为在轨实测数据反演的依据. 此外, 由于颗粒的表面状态(例如粗糙度)、形状和结构以及颗粒的成分均对颗粒实际探测具有一定影响, 未来将进一步通过筛选模拟月尘作为非规则颗粒样品, 研究非球形复杂颗粒对探测结果的影响, 为尘埃探头在轨测量数据的反演提供进一步支撑.
