This study, conducted at the Haikou Jiangdong Water Plant, applied a direct ultrafiltration process to treat the Nandu River water for potable use. Pilot-scale experiments were performed to optimize key operational parameters, including filtration cycle, backwash regime, and chemical-enhanced backwash (CEB) dosing and frequency. Under the optimized condition, the study comprehensively evaluated treatment performance, membrane-fouling characteristics, and techno-economic outcomes. The results showed that with a filtration cycle of 90 min and a high-intensity, short-duration backwash regime (170 L/(m2·h) flux, 150 s air scouring, 10 s combined air-water top backwash, 10 s combined air-water bottom backwash), together with CEB using 500 mg/L sodium hypochlorite at a frequency of 7 days, the system exhibited robust adaptability and stable performance across varying raw-water qualities. The system maintained regulatory-compliant effluent even when raw-water CODMn reached 7.01 mg/L during high-turbidity periods (≥50 NTU). However, when raw-water CODMn approached 3.6 mg/L during low-turbidity periods (<50 NTU), there was a potential risk of the effluent CODMn exceeding the applicable drinking-water standard. Over 42 days of operation, the transmembrane pressure increased by a cumulative 8.48 kPa but stabilized following a short-term high-turbidity perturbation. Membrane-fouling analyses confirmed that the optimized operating conditions effectively limited fouling and identified siliceous-aluminous inorganic residues as the primary irreversible foulant fraction. A techno-economic assessment indicated water production costs of RMB 0.226/m³ (low-turbidity) and RMB 0.243/m³ (high-turbidity), both lower than the RMB 0.261/m³ estimated for a conventional coagulation-sedimentation-filtration-disinfection process. The operational-parameter framework established in this study provides experimental evidence and technical support for applying direct ultrafiltration as a primary pretreatment unit in engineering practice.

海口市江东水厂采用直接超滤工艺处理南渡江水制备饮用水,通过中试试验优化了过滤周期、反冲洗模式、化学强化反冲洗(CEB)加药量及周期等关键运行参数,并综合评价其在优化工况下的净水效能、膜污染特性及技术经济性。结果表明,当运行参数为过滤周期90 min,反冲洗模式采用“170 L/(m2·h)水通量-150 s气洗-10 s气水联合上反洗-10 s气水联合下反洗”的高强度短时间策略,CEB次氯酸钠加药量500 mg/L,CEB周期7 d时,系统对不同进水水质表现出良好的适应性与稳定性。高浊期(≥50 NTU)原水CODMn达7.01 mg/L时仍能保障出水达标,而低浊期(<50 NTU)原水CODMn接近3.6 mg/L时,出水CODMn存在超标风险。42 d运行期间跨膜压差累计增长8.48 kPa,经历短期高浊冲击后仍保持稳定,结合膜污染分析证实,该优化工况可有效控制膜污染,硅铝类无机物残留为主要不可逆组分。经济性分析显示,低浊期与高浊期产水成本分别为0.226,0.243元/m3,低于传统“混凝-沉淀-过滤-消毒”工艺(0.261元/m3)。研究所建立的运行参数体系,可为直接超滤工艺作为前置主处理单元的工程应用提供实验依据与技术支撑。

海口市江东水厂采用直接超滤工艺处理南渡江水制备饮用水,通过中试试验优化了过滤周期、反冲洗模式、化学强化反冲洗(CEB)加药量及周期等关键运行参数,并综合评价其在优化工况下的净水效能、膜污染特性及技术经济性。结果表明,当运行参数为过滤周期90 min,反冲洗模式采用“170 L/(m2·h)水通量-150 s气洗-10 s气水联合上反洗-10 s气水联合下反洗”的高强度短时间策略,CEB次氯酸钠加药量500 mg/L,CEB周期7 d时,系统对不同进水水质表现出良好的适应性与稳定性。高浊期(≥50 NTU)原水CODMn达7.01 mg/L时仍能保障出水达标,而低浊期(<50 NTU)原水CODMn接近3.6 mg/L时,出水CODMn存在超标风险。42 d运行期间跨膜压差累计增长8.48 kPa,经历短期高浊冲击后仍保持稳定,结合膜污染分析证实,该优化工况可有效控制膜污染,硅铝类无机物残留为主要不可逆组分。经济性分析显示,低浊期与高浊期产水成本分别为0.226,0.243元/m3,低于传统“混凝-沉淀-过滤-消毒”工艺(0.261元/m3)。研究所建立的运行参数体系,可为直接超滤工艺作为前置主处理单元的工程应用提供实验依据与技术支撑。

This study, conducted at the Haikou Jiangdong Water Plant, applied a direct ultrafiltration process to treat the Nandu River water for potable use. Pilot-scale experiments were performed to optimize key operational parameters, including filtration cycle, backwash regime, and chemical-enhanced backwash (CEB) dosing and frequency. Under the optimized condition, the study comprehensively evaluated treatment performance, membrane-fouling characteristics, and techno-economic outcomes. The results showed that with a filtration cycle of 90 min and a high-intensity, short-duration backwash regime (170 L/(m2·h) flux, 150 s air scouring, 10 s combined air-water top backwash, 10 s combined air-water bottom backwash), together with CEB using 500 mg/L sodium hypochlorite at a frequency of 7 days, the system exhibited robust adaptability and stable performance across varying raw-water qualities. The system maintained regulatory-compliant effluent even when raw-water CODMn reached 7.01 mg/L during high-turbidity periods (≥50 NTU). However, when raw-water CODMn approached 3.6 mg/L during low-turbidity periods (<50 NTU), there was a potential risk of the effluent CODMn exceeding the applicable drinking-water standard. Over 42 days of operation, the transmembrane pressure increased by a cumulative 8.48 kPa but stabilized following a short-term high-turbidity perturbation. Membrane-fouling analyses confirmed that the optimized operating conditions effectively limited fouling and identified siliceous-aluminous inorganic residues as the primary irreversible foulant fraction. A techno-economic assessment indicated water production costs of RMB 0.226/m³ (low-turbidity) and RMB 0.243/m³ (high-turbidity), both lower than the RMB 0.261/m³ estimated for a conventional coagulation-sedimentation-filtration-disinfection process. The operational-parameter framework established in this study provides experimental evidence and technical support for applying direct ultrafiltration as a primary pretreatment unit in engineering practice.

水资源短缺和水污染问题日益严重,安全、可持续的饮用水处理技术成为全球关注的焦点。以超滤技术为核心的“第三代饮用水净水工艺”,凭借其出水水质稳定、占地面积小、自动化程度高等优点,已广泛应用于饮用水处理领域。该工艺不仅能高效去除水中悬浮物、细菌、病毒等有害物质,还能最大限度地保留水中的益生元素,保障水质的高品质与安全性,是今后绿色饮用水处理工艺的发展方向之一12。直接超滤工艺作为这一工艺的延伸,通过省略预处理单元,简化工艺流程,不仅降低了能耗和药剂使用,还减少了系统的复杂性,已展现出良好的应用潜力。已有工程实践,如广东花都梯面水厂与文昌会文水厂的成功案例,证实了直接超滤工艺在处理中低浊度微污染原水时的卓越效能,水质持续达标3。尽管如此,直接超滤工艺在高浊度原水处理中的应用仍面临挑战,特别是在膜污染加剧方面问题突出。目前相关研究多集中于实验室小试规模,缺乏中试及大规模工程应用的系统验证,导致直接超滤工艺在实际运行条件下的适用条件和性能尚未得到明确界定,亟需进一步开展深入研究。
本研究以南渡江水为原水,模拟海口市高品质饮用水水厂(江东水厂)的工艺路线,通过中试试验,优化直接超滤工艺的关键运行参数,进而系统评估其在优化工况下的净水效能、膜污染特征,并明确其稳定运行的边界条件,为水厂的实际运行提供参考。
试验用水为南渡江江水,试验期间水质参数如下:温度为22.5~28.6 ℃,浊度为3.6~372 NTU,pH值为6.74~7.63,UV254为0.056~0.18 cm-1ρ(CODMn)为2.08~7.01 mg/L,ρ(NH3-N)为0.043~0.21 mg/L,ρ(NO2--N)为4.54~14.01 μg/L。
中试试验装置及流程如图1所示,设计处理能力为2 m3/h,进水取自水厂原水管道。原水首先经精密过滤器以去除其中的漂浮物,随后进入原水箱,并由供水泵将原水输送至超滤膜系统。超滤膜产水一部分输送至产水箱,另一部分则进入反洗箱,用于后续的膜反洗过程。
该中试装置所采用的超滤膜组件为聚氯乙烯(PVC)材质的中空纤维膜,运行方式为外压死端过滤,膜丝内径为0.9 mm,膜外径为1.6 mm,单位膜面积通量为37 L/(m2·h),膜面积为54 m2,超滤膜系统的运行由可编辑逻辑控制器(PLC)实现自动化控制。
本研究基于江东水厂的设计运行参数,采用序贯优化方法,在恒定膜通量[37 L/(m2·h)]条件下,以跨膜压差(TMP)变化为评价指标,对运行参数进行优化。首先比较60,90,120 min过滤周期以筛选最佳值,随后在最佳过滤周期下对比不同反冲洗模式;在此基础上,通过调整次氯酸钠化学强化反冲洗(CEB)周期及加药量进一步优化,并在实际水体的长期运行中验证参数体系的稳定性与适应性,旨在保障出水水质的前提下,寻求控制膜污染、维持系统长期稳定运行的最优操作条件。试验过程中系统自动监测并记录TMP、水温θ等参数。由于试验过程中水温存在一定波动,为消除温度变化对TMP测量结果的影响,对TMP值进行了温度校正,见式(1)、(2)。

直接超滤工艺中试的运行费用大致可分为动力费用、药剂费用、设备折旧费、人工及管理费用4方面。直接超滤工艺设备的运行总费用按式(3)—(6)5进行计算。基于优化的运行参数,直接超滤工艺每天消耗电量2.15 kW·h,电费以1.02元/(kW·h)计,平均每天的药剂费用为0.94元/d,Cm为7560元,n取10 a,k为89.2%。

在膜通量37 L/(m2·h),反洗通量100 L/(m2·h),反冲洗时间210 s的运行条件下,本研究探究了60,90,120 min 3种过滤周期对TMP变化的影响,如图2a所示。
图2a可知:当过滤周期为60 min时,TMP在运行初期快速上升后稳定于22 kPa,表明系统在短期建立了动态平衡。将过滤周期延长至90 min,TMP稳定保持在24 kPa左右,未呈现持续上升趋势,运行稳定性良好。当过滤周期进一步延长至120 min时,系统平衡被打破,各周期内TMP的起始值与结束值均呈现逐周期上升趋势,TMP的结束值由19 kPa持续上升至22 kPa(累积增长3 kPa),表明此条件下膜污染持续积累,系统无法维持稳定运行。
综合分析表明,与60 min周期相比,90 min周期在维持相近水平跨膜压差稳定性的前提下,将反冲洗频率降低了33%,显著提升了工艺的运行经济性。而120 min周期则引发了TMP的持续攀升,即过长的过滤时间已超出系统自平衡能力,导致膜污染负荷的累积。综上,90 min被确立为最佳过滤周期,其在膜污染控制与运行效率之间实现了最优配置。
基于上述确定的90 min最佳过滤周期,在膜通量为37 L/(m2·h)的运行条件下,本研究进一步对比了2种反冲洗策略的效能,如图2b所示。可知:在“170 L/(m2·h)水通量-150 s气洗-10 s气水联合上反洗-10 s气水联合下反洗”的高强度、短时间反冲洗模式下,经过13个过滤周期,平均膜比跨膜压差仅增长至1.15;相比之下,在“100 L/(m2·h)水通量-150 s气洗-30 s气水上反洗-30 s气水下反洗”的低强度、长时间反冲洗模式下,相同过滤周期内平均膜比跨膜压差增长至1.3。对比分析可知,高强度、短时间的反洗策略在控制膜污染方面更具优势,其膜污染控制效率比低强度长时间策略提升13%。该现象可归因于反冲洗过程的核心作用机制在于反洗压力突破滤饼层与膜面之间的附着力临界值,从而实现对污染物的机械破坏与脱除,当反洗压力达到临界值时,有效清洗可在极短时间内完成7
鉴于本研究所采用的膜材料具备优异的机械强度与承压性能,采用高强度反洗策略是可行且高效的。本研究所用超滤膜优异的机械强度与承压性能,为采用高强度反洗策略提供了可靠保障,确保了该策略的长期安全性与可行性。
为建立兼顾效能与经济性的CEB长期运行策略,本研究系统评估了清洗周期与加药量的优化组合。前期试验(图2a)证实,新膜运行初期污染负荷轻,250 mg/L NaClO的CEB即可有效控制膜污染。如图2c所示,当CEB周期延至7 d,首周期末TMP上升4.6 kPa,经250 mg/L NaClO清洗后,TMP下降3.7 kPa,清洗效率为80.4%,未能完全恢复。随后的运行周期中TMP再次上升3.9 kPa,将NaClO浓度提至500 mg/L后,CEB使TMP下降5.1 kPa,跨膜压差恢复至初始水平,表明500 mg/L是直接超滤工艺保障清洗效力的最佳加药量。进一步将周期延至10 d,TMP增幅为4.8 kPa,其绝对增长量与7 d周期相比未发生显著跃变。
基于技术经济综合评估,推荐采用7 d作为最佳CEB周期,并匹配500 mg/L NaClO作为最佳CEB加药量。尽管10 d周期技术可行,但其TMP增幅4.8 kPa已接近清洗临界,而“500 mg/L+7 d”方案能将TMP增幅稳定在更低水平,为应对水质波动预留了充足的安全余量。该策略可在确保系统长期可靠性的同时,实现技术可靠性与经济运行的最优平衡。
本研究通过系统优化,为原水直接超滤工艺确定了核心运行参数:过滤周期90 min,采用 “170 L/(m2·h)水通量-150 s气洗-10 s气水联合上反洗-10 s气水联合下反洗”的高强度短时间反冲洗模式,CEB周期7 d,NaClO加药量500 mg/L。该参数组合通过物理清洗与化学清洗的协同作用,实现了膜污染的有效控制与系统长期稳定运行。
与置于“混凝-沉淀-砂滤-臭氧生物活性炭”深度处理单元之后的超滤工艺(其优化参数为:过滤周期30~60 min,CEB周期7 d,反冲洗模式“80 L/(m2·h)水通量-30 s气洗-50 s气水联合反洗-25 s水反洗”,NaClO加药量250~500 mg/L)8相比,直接超滤工艺的优势凸显于2个方面:1)在等效CEB清洗周期下,凭借优化的反冲洗机制,将过滤周期显著延长50%~200%,产水效率大幅提升;2)流程高度简化,节省建造与运营成本。该结果表明,该优化参数体系在提升运行效率与简化工艺流程方面具备明确的技术经济优势,为超滤膜作为前置主处理单元的工程化应用提供了关键的设计与运行依据。
在明确最佳运行参数的基础上,本研究系统评估了直接超滤工艺对南渡江原水的净化效能。南渡江原水水质变化受气象条件影响显著,表现出短时、高幅的浊度波动特征,尤其在降雨过后,原水浊度最高可达372 NTU,而最低仅有3.6 NTU。直接超滤工艺对浊度的去除效果如图3a所示。可知:低浊期(<50 NTU)出水浊度在0.02~0.16 NTU,平均为0.098 NTU,平均去除率为98.92%;高浊期(≥50 NTU)出水浊度为0.1~0.5 NTU,平均为0.24 NTU,平均去除率为99.87%。此结果充分验证了优化后的参数体系在保障出水感官性状和安全性的高度可靠性,出水水质稳定优于GB 5749—2022《生活饮用水卫生标准》限值(≤1.0 NTU)9
UV254代表水中含苯环结构或含共轭双键的芳香族有机物含量,其与消毒副产物(DBPs)的前体物通常有很大的相关性,减少水中UV254对于控制DBPs浓度具有重要意义1011。UV254的去除效果如图3b所示。可知:实验期间,原水UV254最高可达0.18 cm-1,工艺对其去除效果受水质条件影响显著:低浊期超滤出水UV254为0.028~0.111 cm-1,平均去除率为40.35%;高浊期超滤出水UV254为0.044~0.059 cm-1,平均去除率降至29.32%,表明高浊条件限制了工艺对UV254的去除效能。
与UV254的去除趋势不同,CODMn在高浊期表现出更优的去除效果(见图3c)。试验期间,原水CODMn浓度最高为7.01 mg/L。低浊期平均去除率为29.04%,出水浓度为1.44~3.76 mg/L;而高浊期平均去除率显著提升至57.52%,其出水浓度稳定在1.6~2.23 mg/L的较低水平。值得注意的是,在低浊期当原水CODMn浓度为3.6 mg/L时,直接超滤出水浓度达到2.99 mg/L,该值已接近GB 5749—2022中规定的限值3.0 mg/L,存在出水水质超标的风险。而在高浊期,即使原水ρ(CODMn)高达7.01 mg/L,出水浓度仍显著优于标准限值。因此,在低浊期,当原水CODMn浓度≥3.6 mg/L时,应考虑增加预处理工艺或深度处理工艺,以保障出水水质安全。上述差异性规律主要源于超滤的物理筛分特性及其滤饼层的双重作用1213:高浊期致密滤饼层通过强化对大分子有机物的截留使CODMn去除率提高,但其对小分子有机物的截留能力不足,导致UV254去除率下降。这一机理明确了该工艺在处理组分复杂有机物时的技术边界。
直接超滤工艺对NH4+-N和NO2--N的去除效果如图3d与3e所示。基于有效检测数据,试验期间,原水ρ(NH4+-N)最高为0.21 mg/L。低浊期NH4+-N平均去除率为39.65%,出水氨氮浓度为0.026~0.169 mg/L试验期间,原水最高为0.21 mg/L;高浊期平均去除率进一步提升至为46.05%,出水浓度为0.029~0.048 mg/L。尽管NH4+-N的分子尺寸小于超滤膜的理论截留孔径,本研究在优化运行参数下仍观测到显著的去除效果,该效果可能缘于膜表面滤饼层的吸附作用与氨氧化菌的生物转化等途径的贡献1415。在NO2--N去除方面,基于有效检测数据,低浊期出水浓度为3.1~10.72 μg/L,平均去除率为27.79%;高浊期出水浓度为5.16~12.98 μg/L,平均去除率降至17.39%,表明高浊条件对NO2--N的去除产生了不利影响。
本研究确立的优化运行参数保障了直接超滤工艺在面对原水剧烈波动时的稳定性与适应性。工艺在浊度去除方面表现优异,在有机物去除方面呈现出规律性差异,并展现出超越物理筛分作用的综合净化潜力。该参数体系为直接超滤工艺的工程化应用提供了关键核心技术支撑。
直接超滤工艺超滤膜的TMP变化及膜污染控制情况见图4。由图4a可知:在42 d运行期间内,超滤膜的TMP由初始的15.72 kPa上升至24.2 kPa。运行期间,进水浊度波动显著影响TMP的增长速率。在低浊期,TMP平均增长速率为0.88 kPa/d,而在高浊期则升至2.32 kPa/d。值得注意的是,即使未进行CEB清洗,当原水浊度自然回落时,TMP也出现显著下降,表明高浊期积累的污染以可消除性污染为主,可以通过物理反冲洗有效逆转。
图4b为不同浊度条件下单日内的TMP变化趋势,低浊期超滤反洗前后TMP波动约4 kPa,而高浊期波动幅度增至约10 kPa。经物理反洗后,TMP均能基本恢复至周期初始值,这证实了短期内的污染积累以可消除性污染为主,且本研究优化的反冲洗模式对此类污染控制效果显著。CEB清洗后的膜性能恢复情况如图4c、4d所示,在清洗后24 h内高浊度工况下TMP急剧攀升,膜通量快速下降,而低浊度工况下TMP增长缓慢,膜通量稳定。经CEB清洗后,两种工况下的TMP及膜通量均基本恢复,表明所采用的化学清洗策略能有效去除不可消除性污染。然而长期来看(图4a),膜性能在清洗后仍存在轻微衰减,说明存在小部分物质附着,膜表面积累了少量不可逆污染。
因此,短期高浊冲击并未引发显著的不可逆膜污染,污染类型以可消除性与不可消除性污染为主。通过优化后的清洗策略,系统能够有效控制TMP增长,维持长期运行稳定性16。该结果明确了直接超滤工艺应对短期高浊原水的可行路径,进一步验证了所述运行参数在控制膜污染方面的有效性与适用性。
原始膜和不同运行阶段膜的ATR-FTIR光谱图如图5a所示。可知:污染膜在1403.0,1180.7,874.3,488.3 cm-1处表现出较强的吸收峰,1069.5、840.2,763.1,614.3 cm-1处表现出弱吸收峰。其中,1403.0 cm-1主要归属于羧酸盐(COO⁻)的对称伸缩振动或芳香族C̿    C的骨架振动,这可能是由腐殖酸类物质及微生物代谢产物所引起。1180.7 cm-1处归属于C—O/C—O—C伸缩振动,表明膜表面存在天然有机物如腐殖酸、富里酸及多糖类物质等17。874.3 cm-1处归属于芳环的C—H面外弯曲振动或者某些C—O—C的伸缩振动,这可能是由生物代谢产物和某些有机污染物引起18。488.3 cm-1处附近的吸收峰可归属于Si—O—Si的弯曲振动,是硅氧化物的特征谱带之一19。清洗过程的光谱变化显示,物理反冲洗能部分降低与有机物相关的特征峰强度,CEB清洗则使其强度进一步降低。而归属于无机硅酸盐的峰形及强度则在2种清洗模式开展前后均基本保持不变。
XPS分析从元素组成层面进一步验证了上述变化规律,如图5b与5c所示。可知:超滤膜表面污染物主要由含C、N有机物以及Si、Al氧化物构成。超滤膜污染后膜表面C、N元素信号增强,同时伴随Si、Al元素信号增加。经物理反冲洗后C、N元素信号出现减弱,随后CEB清洗使得C、N元素含量进一步降低并趋近新膜基准水平,而Si、Al组分在清洗后仍有明显残留。
综上所述,本研究确立的运行参数体系可有效控制膜污染,其对有机污染物的高效去除构成了工艺的核心优势,而Si、Al类无机物污染作为主要残留组分,可能是制约直接超滤工艺效能的关键因素之一,其积累引发的膜性能衰减需重点关注20
在优化参数下,系统在低浊期与高浊期的平均产水量分别为1.94,1.71 m3/h,对应的产水成本分别为0.226,0.243元/m3。相较于常规工艺(混凝-沉淀-过滤-消毒)产水成本(0.261元/m3),采用优化运行参数的直接超滤工艺展现出明显的经济优势,证明了参数优化在实现技术效能与经济效益统一方面的重要价值。
1)通过运行参数优化,确定了直接超滤工艺的最佳运行参数为过滤周期90 min,反冲洗模式采用高强度短时间策略,CEB清洗周期7 d,CEB次氯酸钠投加量500 mg/L。
2)运行参数优化保障了直接超滤工艺对包括短期高浊冲击在内的不同原水水质的良好适应性与稳定性,出水浊度稳定达标,为江东水厂采用该工艺作为前置主处理单元提供了技术可行性依据。
3)优化后的运行参数能够有效控制膜污染,实现跨膜压差稳定变化,为江东水厂的长期稳定运行提供了技术保障。该运行参数体系下,有机污染得到有效控制,无机硅铝污染为主要残留组分,这为后续针对性清洗策略研究提供依据。
4)优化运行参数体系下直接超滤工艺在低浊期与高浊期的产水成本分别为0.226,0.243元/m3,均优于传统“混凝-沉淀-过滤-消毒”工艺的0.261元/m3,展现出明确的经济竞争力。
