The material properties of quasicrystals are significantly affected by defects due to high brittleness. Understanding the fracture behavior of quasicrystals is crucial for material applications. In this paper, the fracture mechanics of one-dimensional hexagonal quasicrystals with periodic Type-III multiple cracks emanating from a nanoscale hole is investigated theoretically. Based on complex elasticity theory and the Gurtin-Murdoch surface elasticity theory, stress fields of a nano-hole with periodic multiple cracks, considering surface effects, are obtained using boundary value problems of analytic function theory and the conformal transformation technique. Analytical expressions for stress intensity factors and energy release rates of the phonon field and phase field at the crack tip under the same conditions are further derived. The effects of aperture size, number of periodic cracks, crack-length/aperture ratio, coupling coefficient between phonon field and phase field, and applied loads on dimensionless stress intensity factors and dimensionless energy release rate are discussed. Results indicate that the coupling coefficient, applied loads, and aperture size do not affect dimensionless stress intensity factors without surface effects. Larger aperture sizes show stronger size dependence on dimensionless stress intensity factors and dimensionless energy release rate when considering surface effects. An obvious coupling effect between the phonon field and the phase field is observed. The influence of the number of periodic cracks on dimensionless stress intensity factors and energy release rate is restricted by defect size. The effects of phonon field loads and phase field loads on dimensionless stress intensity factors and energy release rate differ. This work reveals the specific influence of surface effects on the fracture behavior of multi-cracks at the hole edge, offering significant academic insights into quasicrystal fracture mechanics.

本文理论研究了一维六方准晶弹性体中孔边Ⅲ型周期多裂纹的断裂力学问题. 基于表面弹性理论考虑纳米缺陷(孔洞和周期裂纹)的表面效应,利用解析函数边值问题理论并结合保角变换技术得到了问题的应力场,推导了裂纹尖端的声子场和相位子场应力强度因子和能量释放率的解析表达式. 讨论了孔径尺寸、裂纹数量、裂纹长/孔径比、声子场-相位子场耦合系数和施加载荷对无量纲场强因子和无量纲能量释放率的影响. 研究表明:不考虑表面效应时耦合系数、施加载荷和孔径尺寸对无量纲场强因子无影响;考虑表面效应时无量纲场强因子和无量纲能量释放率都存在着显著的尺寸依赖效应;声子场和相位子场之间有明显的耦合效应;裂纹数量对无量纲场强因子和能量释放率的影响受到缺陷尺寸的制约;施加的声子场和相位子场载荷对无量纲场强因子和能量释放率的影响不同.

The material properties of quasicrystals are significantly affected by defects due to high brittleness. Understanding the fracture behavior of quasicrystals is crucial for material applications. In this paper, the fracture mechanics of one-dimensional hexagonal quasicrystals with periodic Type-III multiple cracks emanating from a nanoscale hole is investigated theoretically. Based on complex elasticity theory and the Gurtin-Murdoch surface elasticity theory, stress fields of a nano-hole with periodic multiple cracks, considering surface effects, are obtained using boundary value problems of analytic function theory and the conformal transformation technique. Analytical expressions for stress intensity factors and energy release rates of the phonon field and phase field at the crack tip under the same conditions are further derived. The effects of aperture size, number of periodic cracks, crack-length/aperture ratio, coupling coefficient between phonon field and phase field, and applied loads on dimensionless stress intensity factors and dimensionless energy release rate are discussed. Results indicate that the coupling coefficient, applied loads, and aperture size do not affect dimensionless stress intensity factors without surface effects. Larger aperture sizes show stronger size dependence on dimensionless stress intensity factors and dimensionless energy release rate when considering surface effects. An obvious coupling effect between the phonon field and the phase field is observed. The influence of the number of periodic cracks on dimensionless stress intensity factors and energy release rate is restricted by defect size. The effects of phonon field loads and phase field loads on dimensionless stress intensity factors and energy release rate differ. This work reveals the specific influence of surface effects on the fracture behavior of multi-cracks at the hole edge, offering significant academic insights into quasicrystal fracture mechanics.

准晶材料的发现更正了人们关于固体的分类方法[1]. 相较于传统材料,准晶材料因其原子呈准周期排列而具有不同的物理性能,这些特殊性能使得准晶材料广泛应用于能源、汽车、航空等工程领域[2,3]. 准晶材料在常温下呈脆性[4],在生产和服役过程中不可避免会产生孔洞和裂纹等缺陷,严重影响其使用寿命,成为限制准晶材料应用与发展的重要原因之一[5].
对准晶材料含各类缺陷进行强度分析尤其是断裂力学性能研究显得尤为重要,许多国内外学者也都在该领域进行了深入的探讨. 诸多准晶材料中,一维六方准晶是指在具有六重旋转对称轴的方向上原子准周期排列,而在垂直于该方向的平面内原子周期排列[6]. 由于一维六方准晶相较于高维准晶更为简单的晶体结构,使得它成为研究准晶领域的首选对象. 近年来关于含缺陷一维六方准晶的代表性研究有:Liu和Yang[7]研究了一维六方准晶体中无限多个平行位错与半无限裂纹之间的相互作用问题. 常莉红等[8]利用椭圆函数理论对一维六方准晶材料中裂纹中心位于等腰三角形顶点上的双周期排列反平面问题进行了讨论,并获得了该问题下声子场和相位子场的闭合解. 马小丹等[9]研究了一维六方准晶带裂纹的弹性半平面无摩擦接触问题,给出了裂纹尖端场的应力强度因子和压头下方接触应力的分布. 崔江彦和李星[10]分析了一维六方准晶非周期平面内的裂纹问题并给出了周期法向荷载下的应力函数. 吕鑫和刘官厅[11]给出了一维六方准晶中多条平行螺型位错和有限长直裂纹之间的弹性场相互作用问题的解析解. Dang[12]和Zhao[13]团队先后研究了一维六方准晶涂层在反平面载荷和平面载荷作用下界面裂纹的断裂问题. Fan等[14]分析了一维六方准晶双材料界面裂纹尖端的奇异性并提出了一种去除振荡奇点的新方法. 张炳彩等[15]研究了一维六方准晶双材料界面上圆孔边两条不对称裂纹的反平面剪切问题. 赵雪芬和马园园[16]对一维六方准晶双材料界面共线裂纹的反平面问题进行了研究. Yu和Guo[17]利用傅里叶级数方法给出了一维六方准晶带含两条等长共线裂纹受反平面剪切时周期阵列问题的解析解. Ma等[18]利用叠加原理和积分变换技术研究了一维六方准晶涂层与半空间弹性基本界面裂纹对Love波的散射问题. 杨娟等[19]利用傅里叶余弦变换处理复杂边值问题,求解了SH波对功能梯度一维六方准晶裂纹作用的动态断裂问题. 赵雪芬等[20]利用傅里叶积分变换和叠加原理,研究了非周期平面内含有中心开口裂纹的一维六方准晶平面热弹性问题.
上述研究中的缺陷都在宏观尺度,当缺陷(裂纹或孔洞)尺寸降低到纳米时,准晶材料中纳米缺陷的表面效应对其强度性能的影响及其重要. 近年来,Gurtin-Murdoch表面弹性理论[21-23]在对一维六方准晶裂纹的纳米尺度断裂力学行为分析中得到了广泛应用. 魏刚等[24]提出了解决一维六方准晶中螺型位错极子与直线纳米裂纹干涉效应问题的新方法并获得了问题的封闭解. Yang和Liu[25]研究了一维六方准晶中一个正六边形孔边有六条纳米裂纹的反平面问题. 武志林等[26]对考虑表面效应时一维六方准晶中带两条共线裂纹的圆形纳米孔的反平面问题进行了研究. Zhao和Guo[27]研究了一维六方压电准晶复合材料中具有表面效应的增强纳米椭圆孔或纳米裂纹的反平面剪切问题. Wu等[28]研究了纳米尺度下一维六方压电准晶中正2n多边形孔边缘有两个共线裂纹的Ⅲ型断裂问题. Su等[29,30]先后研究了考虑表面效应下的一维六方压电准晶椭圆孔边发出两条和四条裂纹时的反平面问题. 卢绍楠等[31]对在电半渗透率条件下一维六方压电准晶纳米弯折裂纹反平面问题进行了研究并得到了该问题的解析解. Ma等[32]分析了一维六方压电准晶中电半磁导纳米尖锐裂纹问题. Lu等[33]给出了一维六方准晶非周期面包含纳米开放裂纹的平面热弹性问题的闭合形式解. Xin和Xiao[34,35]研究了一维六方压电准晶纳米孔任意位置裂纹的反平面问题. 赵雪芬等[36]研究了一维六方准晶考虑表面效应时的正三角形顶点处发出三条等长裂纹的反平面剪切问题.
实际工程中,脆性准晶材料产生缺陷(如孔洞)后,在复杂载荷环境下孔边应力集中非常明显,从而进一步诱发孔边微裂纹,孔和裂纹相互作用又会显著影响结构的强度性能. 在研究孔洞和多裂纹相互作用时,将孔边裂纹建模为径向周期分布模型实用且有效[37]. 本文利用Gurtin-Murdoch表面弹性理论[21-23]引入纳米缺陷的表面应力,研究了一维六方准晶弹性体中纳米尺度圆孔均布周期径向裂纹的反平面问题,获得了一维六方准晶孔边周期纳米Ⅲ型裂纹的裂纹尖端广义应力场强因子和能量释放率的解析表达式,讨论了纳米缺陷几何参数、材料性能与施加载荷对于广义应力场强因子和能量释放率的影响.
图1为考虑缺陷表面效应时一维六方准晶体中孔边均布周期裂纹示意图,ΩcΩmΩs表示孔、准晶基体和纳米缺陷(孔和裂纹). 孔半径为R,裂纹长均为Lln表示第n条裂纹. z轴垂直于平面Oxy,设z方向为一维六方准晶的准周期方向. 远场作用声子场载荷和相位子场载荷.

图3给出了裂纹数量n=3,6,9时纳米孔尺寸对裂纹尖端声子场和相位子场的无量纲场强因子的影响曲线,其中L/R=0.5. 可以看出,不考虑缺陷(孔和裂纹)表面效应时,无论孔径大小和裂纹数量如何变化,声子场和相位子场的无量纲场强因子恒定不变;声子场和相位子场的无量纲场强因子相等;随着裂纹数量增加无量纲场强因子减小. 考虑缺陷(孔和裂纹)表面效应时,随着孔径的增加,当孔径在100 nm以内时无量纲场强因子增长速度非常快,之后增长速度逐渐放缓并且最终趋近于不考虑表面效应时的结果,表面效应对于无量纲场强因子的影响逐渐减小. 相同纳米孔径时相位子场的无量纲场强因子数值上比声子场低,且最终的收敛速度比声子场慢.
图4给出了不同裂纹长/孔径比L/R分别取0.3,0.5和0.8时裂纹数量对无量纲场强因子的影响,其中R=10 nm. 可以看出无论是否考虑表面效应,在n<3时,相同裂纹长/孔径比时随着裂纹数量的上升无量纲场强因子增加,而在n>3时情况相反但变化趋势变缓;n≥6时无量纲场强因子小于n=1时的值;n=3时无量纲场强因子最大,这说明圆孔边均布三条裂纹时材料最易发生失效. 有意思的是,n=2时无量纲场强因子结果总与n=4时结果一致. 裂纹数量相同时,随着L/R的增加无量纲场强因子增大,曲线的起伏变化趋势也增大. 当n持续增大时,可以看出裂纹长/孔径比对于强度因子的影响减弱.
图5给出了裂纹数量n=3,10时无量纲场强因子随裂纹长/孔径比的变化趋势,其中R=5 nm. 随着裂纹长/孔径比的不断增加无量纲场强因子都呈上升趋势,且都在-2<lg(L/R)<-0.5区间内增长幅度较大,当lg(L/R)>-0.5时逐渐趋于平稳. 考虑表面效应时,同一裂纹长/孔径比时裂纹数量对无量纲场强因子的影响在lg(L/R)<-1时可以忽略,当lg(L/R)>-1时才能明显观察到裂纹数量的影响. 且裂纹数量不同导致的无量纲场强因子之间的差值随着裂纹长/孔径比的增加而增大,最终在lg(L/R)>0.5时又趋向于平稳.
图6给出了裂纹数量n=3,10时耦合系数R3对声子场和相位子场的无量纲应力强度因子的影响,其中R=5 nm,L/R=0.5. 随着耦合系数的逐渐增加,声子场的无量纲强度因子近似呈线性增大,而相位子场先增大而后减小呈非线性. 裂纹数量只改变无量纲场强因子的大小,不同裂纹数量时的强度因子曲线接近平行.
图7给出了裂纹数量n=3,10时施加的声子场和相位子场载荷对无量纲强度因子的影响,其中R=5 nm,L/R=0.5,耦合系数R3=1.2 GPa. 图7(a)表明相位子场无量纲场强因子呈线性增加,而声子场无量纲场强因子先迅速增大而后趋于平缓;图7(b)图显示声子场无量纲场强因子呈线性减小,而相位子场无量纲场强因子先迅速减小而后趋于平缓. 裂纹数量不同的影响在(a)图中相位子场无量纲场强因子和(b)图中声子场无量纲场强因子仅体现在数值大小上,对变化趋势没有影响;但裂纹数量不同在(a)图中的声子场区间和(b)图中的相位子场区间,对无量纲应力强度因子差值影响较小.
图8给出了孔径尺寸、耦合系数、声子场载荷和相位子场载荷、裂纹长/孔径比多个参数对无量纲能量释放率的影响,其中G0表示同一条件下不考虑表面效应时的能量释放率. 由图8(a)可以看出,随着孔径尺寸的增加无量纲能量释放率逐渐增大最终趋于1. 图8(b)表明,随着耦合系数的增加无量纲能量释放率先轻微增大而后减小,取最大值时的横坐标随着孔径尺寸的增大而减小;且孔径尺寸越大,耦合系数的影响越大. 图8(c)说明,随着声子场载荷的增加,无量纲能量释放率先轻微递减再递增,取最小值时的横坐标随着相位子场载荷的增大而增大,且不论相位子场载荷大小如何,都会趋于相同值. 图8(d)表明,随着相位子场载荷的增加,无量纲能量释放率先轻微递增再递减,取最大值时的横坐标随着声子场载荷的增大而增大,且不论声子场载荷大小如何,都会趋于相同值. 图8(e)可以看出,随着裂纹长/孔径比的增加,无论裂纹长度如何变化,无量纲能量释放率都是减小的,并在Lg(L/R)<-2时缓慢减小,在-2<Lg(L/R)<0时快速降低,在Lg(L/R)>0时又逐渐趋近于0;相同裂纹长/孔径比条件下,裂纹长度越大无量纲能量释放率越大.
本文基于表面弹性理论对一维六方准晶中纳米尺度孔边周期Ⅲ型裂纹问题进行了断裂力学性能分析,主要结论如下:
(1)考虑表面效应时,声子场和相位子场无量纲场强因子有着明显的尺寸依赖. 随着裂纹数量的增加,无量纲场强因子先增大再减少,在裂纹数量n=3时达到最大值. 随着裂纹长/孔径比的增加,无量纲场强因子先迅速增大而后趋于平稳. 随着耦合系数的增加,声子场无量纲场强因子近似线性增大,而相位子场无量纲场强因子先增大而后减小呈非线性. 随着施加声子场载荷的增加,相位子场无量纲场强因子呈线性增加,而声子场无量纲场强因子先迅速增大而后趋于平缓;随着相位子场载荷的增加,声子场无量纲场强因子呈线性减小,而相位子场无量纲场强因子先迅速减小而后趋于平缓.
(2)不考虑表面效应时,声子场和相位子场的无量纲场强因子相等,且孔径大小、耦合系数和远场载荷对其没有影响,裂纹长/孔径比和裂纹数量对无量纲场强因子的影响与考虑表面效应时一致.
(3)随着耦合系数的增加无量纲能量释放率先轻微增大而后减小;随着声子场载荷的增加,无量纲能量释放率先轻微递减再递增;随着相位子场载荷的增加,无量纲能量释放率先轻微递增再递减;随着裂纹长/孔径比的增加,无量纲能量释放率从1减小到0,其中在-2<Lg(L/R)<0时下降迅速.
