Solid acid materials (A-K) were prepared via calcination of kaolinite (K) and successive acid treatment. The structure of products was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). A-K was then introduced into polypropylene (PP) composites to further enhance the flame retardancy. The flammability and mechanical properties were evaluated by limiting oxygen index, vertical burning test, cone calorimetry and universal test. The results show that the peak heat release rate for PP composite with a loading A-K (0.5%-3.0%, in mass fraction] can reduce from 1 474 kW/m² of neat PP to 177 kW/m².

通过高温煅烧和酸反应等方法处理高岭石（K），制备高岭石基固体酸材料（A-K），并通过X射线衍射仪（XRD）和扫描电子显微镜（SEM）对其进行表征和分析。然后通过熔融挤出共混，将A-K添加到聚丙烯（PP）复合材料中，改善其阻燃性能。利用极限氧指数仪、水平垂直燃烧仪、锥型量热仪和万能试验机分别测试材料阻燃性能和力学性能。结果表明：少量A-K[（0.5%~3.0%（质量分数）]可明显改善PP复合材料阻燃性能，PP复合材料的最大热释放速率从纯PP的1 474 kW/m²大幅下降至177 kW/m²。
