The traditional antenna array wideband signal synthesis performance evaluation method has the problem of low signal synthesis performance evaluation accuracy due to the limited accuracy of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) estimation algorithm in the wideband and low SNR scenarios. For above problem, a wideband signal synthesis performance evaluation method of antenna array using power calculation is proposed. The method first simulates multiple intermediate frequency(IF) signals, applies time and phase delays to simulate the time delay and phase difference of the actual antenna received signals, and adds noise to each signal to simulate a low SNR environment. Then, the original and delayed signals are synchronously compensated until convergence using the antenna grouping algorithm to be evaluated. Finally, the synthesized power of the original signal after compensation is calculated and compared with the synthesized power of the ideal signal to obtain the synthesis loss. Simulation experiments results show that under the conditions of signal bandwidth of 250~500 MHz and SNR of -20~0 dB, the method has an improvement of about 1 dB in evaluation accuracy and 0.1 dB2 in evaluation stability compared with the wideband signal synthesis performance evaluation method based on SNR, and the improvement effect is more significant with the decrease of signal bandwidth, and the improvement effect is more significant with the decrease of signal bandwidth.

针对传统的天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法存在因宽带、低信噪比(Signal-to-Noise Ratio,SNR)场景下SNR估计算法精度受限致使信号合成性能评估精度低的问题,提出了一种采用功率计算的天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法。该方法首先仿真多路中频信号,施加时间及相位延迟,模拟实际天线接收信号的时延和相位差,并对每路信号加噪,模拟低信噪比环境。然后,利用待评估的天线组阵算法对原始和延迟信号进行同步补偿直至收敛。最后,计算原始信号补偿后的合成功率,与理想信号合成功率作比,得到合成损失。针对该方法进行的仿真实验验证结果表明,在信号带宽250~500 MHz、信噪比-20~0 dB的条件下,该方法相较基于信噪比的宽带信号合成性能评估方法在评估准确性上约有1 dB的提升,在评估稳定性上约有0.1 dB2的提升,且提升效果随信号带宽的降低而更加显著。

针对传统的天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法存在因宽带、低信噪比(Signal-to-Noise Ratio,SNR)场景下SNR估计算法精度受限致使信号合成性能评估精度低的问题,提出了一种采用功率计算的天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法。该方法首先仿真多路中频信号,施加时间及相位延迟,模拟实际天线接收信号的时延和相位差,并对每路信号加噪,模拟低信噪比环境。然后,利用待评估的天线组阵算法对原始和延迟信号进行同步补偿直至收敛。最后,计算原始信号补偿后的合成功率,与理想信号合成功率作比,得到合成损失。针对该方法进行的仿真实验验证结果表明,在信号带宽250~500 MHz、信噪比-20~0 dB的条件下,该方法相较基于信噪比的宽带信号合成性能评估方法在评估准确性上约有1 dB的提升,在评估稳定性上约有0.1 dB2的提升,且提升效果随信号带宽的降低而更加显著。

The traditional antenna array wideband signal synthesis performance evaluation method has the problem of low signal synthesis performance evaluation accuracy due to the limited accuracy of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) estimation algorithm in the wideband and low SNR scenarios. For above problem, a wideband signal synthesis performance evaluation method of antenna array using power calculation is proposed. The method first simulates multiple intermediate frequency(IF) signals, applies time and phase delays to simulate the time delay and phase difference of the actual antenna received signals, and adds noise to each signal to simulate a low SNR environment. Then, the original and delayed signals are synchronously compensated until convergence using the antenna grouping algorithm to be evaluated. Finally, the synthesized power of the original signal after compensation is calculated and compared with the synthesized power of the ideal signal to obtain the synthesis loss. Simulation experiments results show that under the conditions of signal bandwidth of 250~500 MHz and SNR of -20~0 dB, the method has an improvement of about 1 dB in evaluation accuracy and 0.1 dB2 in evaluation stability compared with the wideband signal synthesis performance evaluation method based on SNR, and the improvement effect is more significant with the decrease of signal bandwidth, and the improvement effect is more significant with the decrease of signal bandwidth.

随着载人登月、国际月球科研站建设以及火星探测等航天计划的推进,深空数据传输需求已经从几十Mb/s跃升到了几Gb/s,航天器下行信号的带宽持续增加。采用传统的天线组阵窄带信号合成技术[1-4]例如SIMPLE、SUMPLE算法等已无法满足宽带信号接收的需求,需要提出适应宽带信号的天线组阵信号合成算法。但是,由于深空通信距离遥远,信号信噪比极低:根据链路预算,35 m口径的天线针对500 MHz数传信号的接收信噪比最低可达-10 dB,12 m口径的天线的接收信噪比最低可达-20 dB。在如此低信噪比条件下,信噪比估计算法精度受限,且信号带宽的增大也会使得估计精度进一步降低,这使得传统的基于信噪比估计对信号合成性能评估的方法已然失效,无法精确量化低信噪比条件下的天线组阵宽带信号合成性能,无法为改进算法提供有效指导,亟需更为精确可靠的合成性能评估方法指导宽带天线组阵信号合成技术更好地向前发展。
文献[1]和文献[5-9]采用合成前后信号信噪比之比作为信号合成性能的评估指标,评估结果符合经验数值,但是这些文献仅针对窄带信号合成性能评估,在宽带天线组阵场景下,常规的信噪比估计算法[10-14]精度受限。例如,基于二阶矩、四阶矩估计器的信噪比估计方法、信号-方差比估计方法、奇异值分解估计方法[15]这三种方法仅适用于中高信噪比估计,有效估计范围窄,在低信噪比下的估计性能差,鲁棒性差。其中,基于二阶矩、四阶矩估计器的信噪比估计方法仅用于MPSK信号,例如QPSK、8PSK等调相信号,具有较强的局限性;最大似然估计信噪比估计[16-17]和频域信噪比估计方法[18-19]在存在载波频率误差的情况下,估计性能急剧下降,估计的均方误差较克拉美罗界误差较大。以上提到的信噪比估计算法均难以精确捕捉到天线组阵系统信号合成性能的细微变化,且算法针对性强,针对不同信号的信噪比估计,采用的估计方法不同,使用不便。文献[20]通过计算合成信号解调后的误码率反推信噪比可以得到较为精确的合成性能评估结果,但是由于解调误码率计算需要信号的信噪比达到解调门限,而解调门限不总是能达到。文献[21-22]将时延补偿精度作为信号合成性能评估的代替值,但是不能完全反映出信号的合成性能,存在局限性。
本文提出了一种天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法。该方法利用信号功率对宽带信号合成性能进行评估,避免了噪声因素对合成性能评估的干扰。实验结果表明,该方法可实现天线组阵宽带信号合成性能的精确可靠评估,对天线组阵宽带信号合成算法的优化具有一定的指导意义。
图1所示为天线组阵信号合成模型,是由深空航天器、大规模地面天线接收阵列、后端信号处理和解调设备组成的下行链路。航天器向地面站发送的下行信号经过电离层、非电离层后被地面天线接收阵列捕获,各天线信号经过补偿处理后进行合成得到合成信号,合成信号的功率大幅增强,后被送入后端软解调器进行解调[23]
天线阵第i面天线接收到的信号可以表示为

在对信号进行相位及时延补偿后各天线信号完全对齐的理想情况下,N个天线接收信号合成后的信噪比为单天线的N倍。但是在实际情况下,各天线信号不可能完全对齐,总是存在微小误差,且其他理想情况也不会完全达到,所以合成信号的实际信噪比会低于理想合成信噪比[24-25],存在信号合成损失。
假设N路天线接收信号的理想合成信噪比为SNRidea ,实际合成信噪比为SNRreal ,则天线组信号合成效率可以表示为
合成损失[26]为合成效率的分贝形式,可表示为
基于信噪比的天线组阵信号合成性能评估方法如图2所示,利用信噪比估计算法对合成后的宽带信号进行信噪比估计,得到实际合成信噪比,再与理想合成信噪比作比,从而计算出合成信号的合成损失。
天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法采用合成信号的有用功率与合成前信号总功率之间的比率作为核心评估指标,以此来精确量化信号合成的收益。在理想情况下,通过天线组阵技术的有效整合,合成信号的功率应达到单个天线单元接收信号功率的N2倍,这同样是衡量天线组阵系统性能提升的标准。下面对基于功率的天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法进行理论推导。
天线组阵系统接收来自航天器的下行信号过程中存在的噪声遵循独立同分布的特性,意味着在信号传输的每一瞬时,其强度和形态彼此独立且遵循同一分布。尽管噪声间可能因信号传播路径的不同而引入时延及相位差异,但是这种时空上的变化却并不影响其功率叠加的基本规则:假设噪声样本间确实保持统计独立,那么无论它们经历怎样的时延调节或相位偏移,各分量的功率在数学期望意义上是线性累加的,不会因这些时序特性而发生本质上的功率变化。基于此,式(7)可以写为
式(10)中的分母项代表所有天线信号中附带的总噪声功率。
合成信号的理想信噪比用功率比值形式可以表示为

由式(12)可知,在仿真中,信号合成算法的合成损失等于有用合成信号功率与合成前有用信号功率之比。
图3所示为基于功率的天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法示意。
该方法具体流程如下:
步骤1仿真多路中频信号,并对其作时间及相位延迟处理,得到多路仿真的非加噪天线信号。
步骤2分别对每路仿真的天线信号进行加噪,得到每路仿真天线信号的加噪信号,以模拟现实场景中的低信噪比环境。
步骤3利用需要评估的天线组阵算法同步对各路仿真的非加噪天线信号及其加噪信号进行信号补偿,直到迭代结束。
步骤4计算补偿后的各路仿真非加噪天线信号的合成信号功率,作为实际信号功率,并计算合成前的各路仿真天线信号合成的理想信号功率。
步骤5将实际信号功率与理想信号功率作比计算得到合成损失,以对天线组阵算法的合成性能进行评估。
在该方法中,由于仿真中所用到的加噪信号是由非加噪纯信号后续加入噪声得到的,所以合成前有用信号功率可以通过计算非加噪纯信号的功率得到。但是有用合成信号的功率不能直接通过合成信号得到,因为合成信号中不仅包含有用合成信号,还包含噪声。所以采取双路信号同步补偿策略得到有用合成信号的功率,即将非加噪纯信号在另一路与加噪信号同步进行时延、相位补偿操作,根据不同的天线组阵算法对每次迭代得到的合成加噪信号进行相应处理得到参考信号,待迭代收敛后,对非加噪纯信号进行相干相加得到有用合成信号,计算其功率即可得到有用合成信号功率。
这一策略避免了直接从含噪合成信号中分离有用信号的复杂性,确保了有用合成信号功率测量的准确性和可靠性,为天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法提供了有效的有用合成信号功率,从而可以计算出更为精确的合成损失。
本文提出了一种天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法,此方法基于功率对合成性能进行评估(以下简称“本文所提评估方法”),与基于信噪比的合成性能评估方法(以下简称“基于信噪比评估方法”)做对比,设置两个对比实验组,合成算法采用宽带信号合成算法,信号类型为QPSK,合成中的其他基本实验参数如表1所示。实验中的信号数据为仿真信号,通过加入确定噪声来模拟低信噪比环境,设置的随机时延值单位为采样点个数,设置的随机相位延迟量单位为rad,通过在仿真信号中加入随机时间和相位延迟来模拟天线所接收信号之间的时延和相位差。
根据链路预算,35 m口径的天线针对500 MHz数传信号的接收信噪比最低可达-10 dB,12 m口径的天线的接收信噪比最低可达-20 dB。为方便对本文所提方法做验证实验,所以将合成前信号信噪比范围设置为-20~0 dB。
实验1:不同带宽及信噪比下的信噪比估计算法精度测试分析。实验仿真参数设置如表1表2所示,信噪比估计算法采用性能较好的调相信号信噪比估计算法。对该算法进行蒙特卡罗仿真,得到不同带宽下信号信噪比估计情况如图4所示。
图4中可以看出,在相同信噪比水平下,随着信号带宽的增大,信噪比估计误差呈现出上升的趋势,表明信号带宽对信噪比估计精度的影响较大,且这种影响随着带宽的增大而加剧。究其原因,虽然增大的信号带宽提供了更宽的信息传输通道,但是也引入了更多的潜在噪声干扰,导致信噪比估计误差呈上升趋势。且在相同信号带宽下,较低的实际信噪比水平(约低于-4 dB),信噪比估计误差显著增大,表明低信噪比下的信噪比估计较为困难,且在-16 dB时出现拐点,信噪比估计误差增大趋势显著,标志着在极低信噪比条件下现有的估计方法可能遭遇性能瓶颈。
需要注意的是,根据公式(9),可以计算出信噪比估计误差为1 dB时带来的合成损失估计误差为1 dB,这显然不足以精确描述天线组阵宽带信号合成性能。
实验2:天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法有效性验证分析。实验仿真参数设置如表1表3所示。
分实验1:将随机时延值和随机相位延迟量设置为0,即天线信号间完全对齐。理论情况下,N路完全对齐的天线非加噪纯信号合成损失应为0 dB。采用本文所提方法和基于信噪比评估方法对天线组阵宽带信号合成算法进行蒙特卡罗仿真,得到评估的宽带信号合成损失随迭代次数的变化曲线如图5所示。
分实验2:设置不同的信噪比和信号带宽以及随机试验值和随机相位延迟量,根据收敛后的算法平均合成损失判断评估方法的有效性。采用本文所提评估方法和基于信噪比评估方法对天线组阵宽带信号合成算法进行蒙特卡罗仿真,得到在不同合成前信号信噪比下评估的合成损失随迭代次数的变化曲线如图6所示(仅选择信号带宽为250 MHz、合成前信号信噪比为-15 dB、-10 dB、-5 dB的3组合成信号进行展示),两种方法评估的平均合成损失随合成前信号信噪比的变化曲线如图7所示。
图5中可以发现,两种方法得到的合成损失随迭代次数的变化曲线趋势一致且基本稳定,但是基于信噪比评估方法的评估结果约为-1.35 dB,距离真值0 dB存在较大差距,而本文所提评估方法的评估结果无限接近于0 dB,可以证明在该仿真条件下本文所提信号合成性能评估方法的有效性。
图6可以看出,3张图中合成算法的迭代趋势一致,但两种评估方法的结果存在显著差异。在算法收敛后,基于信噪比评估方法与本文所提评估方法的评估结果相差约1 dB。这一现象的原因在于低信噪比环境下,宽带信号的信噪比估计精度较低,与实验1的结论相符。
图7可以看出,两种方法评估的平均合成损失随合成前信号信噪比的整体变化呈先增大后平稳趋势,原因是在该仿真条件下,当信噪比低于-17 dB时,宽带信号合成算法未收敛,导致合成损失评估结果急剧下降,表明一定的低信噪比环境会对信号合成性能产生影响。
虽然变化曲线整体趋势相同,但是比较相同信号带宽下两种评估方法的评估结果发现,评估结果在数值上存在较大差异,本文所提评估方法与基于信噪比评估方法的评估结果差值约为1 dB,表明了基于信噪比的评估方法受宽带、低信噪比环境的影响严重干扰了信号合成损失的评估。在如表1表3所示的仿真条件下,本文所提评估方法的评估精度优于基于信噪比评估方法,评估精度整体提升了约1 dB。比较不同信号带宽下的相同评估方法的评估结果发现,信号带宽越大,信号合成损失越大,且与信号带宽之间不呈线性关系。
实验3:天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法稳定性测试分析。通过观察算法收敛后合成损失性能评估结果方差来判断评估方法的稳定性,实验仿真参数设置如表1表3和实验2所示,分别采用本文所提评估方法和基于信噪比评估方法对天线组阵宽带信号合成算法进行蒙特卡罗仿真,两种方法评估的合成损失方差随合成前信号信噪比的变化曲线如图8所示。
根据实验2可知,在该仿真条件下,当信噪比大于-17 dB时,宽带信号合成算法可以收敛。由于只有在算法收敛之后观察合成损失的方差才具有意义,所以后续分析仅对合成前信号信噪比大于-17 dB的情况进行分析。从图8中可以发现,在算法收敛后两种方法评估的合成损失方差随合成前信号信噪比的增大整体呈递减趋势。
对比同一信号带宽下两种方法的合成损失方差可以发现,本文所提方法的合成损失方差小于基于信噪比评估方法,说明在该仿真条件下本文所提评估方法的评估稳定性优于基于信噪比评估方法。结合实验1表明,基于信噪比评估方法受低信噪比影响导致评估稳定性稍差,但是随着信噪比的提升,两种评估方法的稳定性越来越好,更加印证了这一结论。
对比不同信号带宽下的评估结果可以发现,信号带宽越小,评估的稳定性越好。究其原因,虽然增大的信号带宽提供了更宽的信息传输通道,但是也引入了更多的潜在噪声干扰,导致评估的合成损失稳定性降低。
综上,受限于传统信噪比估计算法在宽带、低信噪比环境下的性能瓶颈,其评估精度有限,导致SNRreal的估计精度不高。这一局限性直接导致了在天线组阵系统性能评估中,信噪比的估计值往往偏离实际,不能准确反映系统的真实工作状态。宽带信号虽然提供了更宽的信息传输通道,但是也引入了更多的潜在噪声干扰,导致信噪比估计的精度变低,直接导致了基于信噪比评估方法的评估失真。在如表1表2表3所示实验参数的条件下,本文所提评估方法在评估精度上优于基于信噪比评估方法约1 dB,评估稳定性较基于信噪比评估方法提升了至少0.1 dB2,且效果提升随着信号带宽的降低而更加显著。
在对天线组阵算法的仿真过程中,确保对其信号合成性能的精确且稳定评估至关重要。本文提出了一种基于功率的天线组阵宽带信号合成性能评估方法,通过采取非加噪纯信号与加噪信号同步补偿策略,计算合成信号的实际信号功率,并与理想信号功率作比对合成性能进行评估。实验结果表明,在信号带宽250~500 MHz、信噪比-20~0 dB的实验条件下,相较于基于信噪比的评估方法,本文提出的基于功率的评估方法在准确性和稳定性维度上分别有约1 dB和0.1 dB2的提升,且效果提升随着信号带宽的降低而更加显著。
虽然本文所提方法在如表1表2表3所示实验参数的条件下的性能有一定程度的提升,但是在应用灵活性上低于基于信噪比评估方法。由于本文所提评估方法中用到了非加噪纯信号,导致该方法只能应用在实验仿真中,但是其针对宽带信号合成算法的优化指导意义不可否认。后续可以继续采用基于功率的思路,但是不使用非加噪纯信号同步补偿策略来计算有用信号功率,采用参数估计[27]、自适应滤波等技术计算有用信号功率,进一步对该方法进行优化,增强该方法的灵活性。
长远来看,这项研究的成果可以为实现高效的天线组阵宽带信号合成提供可靠的性能观测和优化指导,对推动天线组阵技术的有效应用和深入发展具有一定的意义。
